Rev. Wright Pipes Up

Mon, Sep 1, 2008 at 3:35:21 pm PDT

Barack Obama’s former spiritual mentor (now residing under a bus) gave a sermon at a Baptist Church in Houston yesterday, and he was in fine form.

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama’s fiery ex-pastor, re-emerged yesterday with a crude reference about race and sex in the White House.

“This ordinary boy [Obama] just might be the first president in the history of the United States to have a black woman sleeping at 1600 Pennsylvania legally,” Wright said, referring to Michelle Obama, in a sermon at the Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church in Houston.

Of course, he means sex with the president. Can he think of nothing but victimhood? Of course not, because then he'd be out of a job.

Sarah Palin is being slimed by innuendos (she was not a Buchanan supporter) yet the man who stands at a 50% chance of being President sat for 20 years in a church whose preacher is a certifiable lunatic.

Here is a snip from the Houston Chronicle story about Wright's sermon.

After the 10:30 service, a worshiper said Wright's message was powerful and persuasive.

"It was beautiful. He preached the word of God straight from the Bible," she said. Church representatives interrupted the interview before the woman could give her name.

Exactly. I wouldn't be surprised to find that Abigail Adams had a black woman as a guest within the first years of the White House being open.

But Rev Wright can only think of women in terms of sexual partners for the president, which, of course, there has not been a black woman at the White House "legally" in that manner. He did not think of women as having jobs at the White House or being guests there in their own right. Didn't enter his mind to think of women that way. And Rev Wright can only see being black as 400 years of constant oppression without a single ray of light or decent act from white people, ever.

See that is what puzzles me. Why on earth are they still donks? I mean the Democratic Party of 2008 is not the Democratic Party of 1958. Why not just say to your self "The Democratic Party does not care about people like me and basically has told me to bugger off?" Issues such as winning the war on Islamofascism, anti affirmative action, tough on crime, taxes, etc. the GOP is more in sync with me (although the GOP is infested with RINO's). I switched my registration to Republican back in 2005 (something I should have done long ago) not b/c I do not have issues with the GOP but b/c on the issues that are most important to me, the tenor of the Republicans is closer to me. I stayed Democrat because in NYC where I live whoever wins the Democratic Primary usually wins the generally election (also the NY GOP is Democratic Lite).

Coming from the South doesn't give him a pass - being a liberal does. Why, you can even be a Grand Wizard, or dragon, or whatever, of the Ku Klux Klan, but as long as you're a liberal, that's A-OK!

The fact is, regardless of what you will hear over the next few days, Bristol's pregnancy is not a legitimate political issue. Nearly got into trouble with that 10 years ago. I arrived at the site, and had to move some equipment around to access the "downed" equipment. Grabbed the first two guys I could find, one I knew but the other was other was a newbie. Of course they were both black, but that is the norm where I work, and I have no issues with race, either you can do the job or you are incompetant, color is not a factor in my relations.
We moved the piece out of the way and I started working on the printer, someone came by and wanted me to look at their P/C. "No, problem, I'll get my best boy on it.." referring to myself. Newbie went ballistic.. "Do yo realize what he just said?", and my friend said " He didn't mean nothing by it. relaxe!" We got on with business but I learned to watch what I say. If you look at federal and local governments in the SE, Many departments are 90 percent black..

I'm gonna go with Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. I don't believe Alan Shepherd ever actually made it to the moon.

That's about all I've got.

Shepard golfed on the moon.

This should get very interesting.

re: #179 Silhouette

OT - Without looking, how many men can you name that have walked on the moon?

Too easy... how many of the 6 are still alive? Now that gets tougher...

First Q:

Armstrong
Aldrin
Bean
Conrad
Shepherd
Mitchell
Irwin
Scott
Young
Duke
Cernan
Schmidt (Schmitt?)

Do I get a nerd award or something?

Apollo 17: Gene Cernan, Harrison Schmitt.

Cernan was the last in the capsule, so he is the last man to have walked the moon....for now.

Maybe, may be not - yet LBJ was the greatest Civil Rights President of all time.

Bean... ?

Umm...is the Reverend referring to Thomas Jefferson with his comment? Because from what I can see, Hemmings did not accompany him to the White House, only Paris. Maybe he's referring to Bill Clinton, which would make much more sense.

or maybe he's just talking out his ass as usual

OT: It's official; my wife has joined me on the darkside. Between personal experience, (seeing managed care from the inside is not a pretty thing), and tiring of the Obamanation, she is now firmly in the Conservative camp. The pick of Sarah Palin clinched it, and now she's arguing with Obama supporters on different message boards. She tells me today that she should have listened to me when I told her that AOL is notoriously biased. The veil has been stripped from her eyes.

It's only funny to call an afro-American "boy" and to take a swipe at black women as well if you are an afro-American. Otherwise, you are a damn racist.

254 Perplexed  Mon, Sep 1, 2008 6:53:39pm

MLK was first invited to the White House under the Eisenhower administration. Nixon did the inviting. This is nothing but a disgusting chest beating by a discredited racist. Time to ignore Wright as we do other racists.

255 Miss Molly  Mon, Sep 1, 2008 8:15:46pm

I wonder if "The Obama" is really all that upset with the Rev Wright still making news. The Rev Wright serves a very useful purpose in keeping Obamas supporters always agitated about something. If Obama wins how fast will the invitation to Rev Wright to come and stay overnight at the White House be in the mail?

If Rev. J. Wright keeps making obvious racists remarks Wright will be known as the real racists. The “victim” line of crap Wright sells is getting very thin.

I think Obama will have to permanently sacrifice Rev. J. Wright to the “Underbus” god. That is unless, J. Wright has some very Dirty Laundry on Obama (which could explain why he is still allowed to damage Obama’s image time and time again).

re: #50 Joel

Problem is that too much of the country is automatic Democrats. They (the Dems) could nominate Joseph Stalin's ghost and at least 45% of the electorate would still vote Democratic.

This nomination suggests that something akin to that has just happened.... May I suggest Stalin's spirit channeling through Obambi's body?

260 canadianconservative  Tue, Sep 2, 2008 3:02:13am

If Wright keeps talking like this, it may be that he's now throwing Obama "under the bus".

Ain't that the truth! The good Rev is one of our best friends. I wonder what it would take to get Bill Ayers to crawl out of his mud hole and impart some more of his wisdom? With friends like BHO has, he doesn't need enemies.

262 yellowroseoftexas  Tue, Sep 2, 2008 12:37:50pm

There has not been a single negative word about Obama recently in the press. Nothing about the Wright,Ayers,Rezko, scandals, or any other negative news about Obama or Biden for that matter recently.

On the other hand, every bit of dirt the newsmedia can dig up on Sarah Palin they have, and now alot in the media seem to be questioning Mccain's judgement like he is senile.

This is the most blatantly biased coverage I have ever seen by the newsmedia during a presidential election. In contrast, to all this negative press about the Republican candidates ,the newsmedia sure did try and make Mr. Obama look like Mr. Wonderful the other day when he said criticism of the presidential candidates families should be "off limits". I guess he conviently forgot how his own campaign recently blasted Cindy Mccain, but that's all forgotten now .

It's no wonder the polls were almost tied the other day. Now today Obama is ahead by 6 to 8 points. Very depressing.
