Diddy: McCain's Buggin'

Mon, Sep 1, 2008 at 4:36:09 pm PDT

I don’t know how I missed this when AP posted it yesterday, but I think I gave myself a hernia laughing. Yes, my sense of humor is that juvenile. (Language warning...)

Diddy darlin' - Alaska is 30 miles from Russia. It isn't too far from Japan and was invaded by Japan in World War II. In some places you can row across to Canada. Bigger than the whole friggin state of Texas, Diddy. Get over it.

I don't think McCain is calling out to Diddly (squat) here with his awesome choice of Mrs. Palin as Veep.

OT: I posted the Palin vs. Obama comparison on my Facebook profile to "wig out" my liberal college friends, and this is the response I got:

Absolutely ridiculous. This never stops being funny/really sad. You know you're desperate when "foreign experience" is qualified with "living near Canada/Russia". I think the dems should start bragging about all the embassies in Chicago as a counter-point! Governorships are suddenly, out of nowhere, ineligible for presidential experience, because they are local, not federal.

Hmmm, did they consider the governorships of Arkansas or Georgia to be sufficient to make CLinton and Carter eligible for teh presidency?

Careful what you decide, moonbats. First you say young is bad (Quayle) then old is awful, then war experience is completely unnecessary, then it is absolutely vital. All depending on who you are running.

Do try for some consistency. Especially the next time when your candidate has "only" been a governor.

Let's take it a step further as in YO, P. DIDDY - Learn your Black History. Without Black Soldiers it is likely the AL-CAN Highway would Not have been built in time. You should be talking up the Black Contribution to Alaska, a state that by US Census standards is about 30% "Non-White," as are under the Jim Crow standards - all of the Governor's Children.

Excellent.

Hey, not sure how you'd conceal the earpiece, but the next time you go to a protest, you should carry a properly programmed radio scanner. Between that and your camera, you'll be able to keep track of what's happening where according to the police, as well as when you're about to be doomed.

Naw, it was probably a Sit n'Spin. Or maybe one of the props from his music videos. Whatever.

Meanwhile, Sen. Biden offers up his typical "nuanced" foreign policy pronouncement on Sen. McCain being out of step with the rest of the world and Iraqis on the day that the US handed over Anbar province to the Iraq government.

That's the same Biden who was calling for partition. And it would appear that Biden hadn't been paying attention to all those briefings on Iraq, because he might have heard a thing or two about the Anbar Awakening.

I'm sick of the degradation of a people being trumpeted as merit, as virtue.
Crack and whores and pimps and dope and children abandoned by their fathers is a human tragedy and is not the fault of anyone except the individual people themselves who make foolish choices. It is not the fault of another race. The celebration and glorification of vile language and stupid behavior for the sake of accumulating grotesque wealth and grotesque jewelry is corrupting many kids.

Leaders do not need to embrace any of these false virtues to be able to govern well. The same old virtues like honesty and hard work and responsibility and getting a good education still work and still raise people up out of poverty. Whatever their race or national origin.

Were John McCain to drop dead 5 minutes after his inauguration, Sarah Palin would do a fine job as president, just as she has done a fine job as the governor of Alaska. She's a strong woman who stands on her principles even when it is hard, which is precisely what is required of a leader.

Sure it counts, but the point is slavery has existed as long as man. You can go back 200 years, or 500, or 2000, etc. We know the Mayans has slaves. We know the Egyptians had slaves. Africans had slaves. Slavery was prevalent. It's not obvious that it's wrong. It probably seems so to us, but that's because we have the benefit of the ideas of men like John Locke.

re: #189 Archimedes

When it gets right down to it, we're probably all descendants of slaves. All you need do is go back far enough.

Indeed.

Given that with each generation your number of ancestors doubles (2 parents, 4 grandparents, 8 great grandparents, etc.), and assuming 3 generations per century, the average 20-50 year old person has about 500 million direct ancestors alive in the year 1000.

Not even going back to the time of Christ, but only to the time of William the Conquerer.

The world population at the time was about 250 million to 500 million (estimates vary) which is equal to the number of ancestors we have. Meaning, we are ALL likely to have descended from each of those alive in 1000. And as there were slaves in the year 1000, we are all descended from slaves. And masters. And good guys. And bad.

The whole bloody point of America was that who you were descended from no longer mattered like it did in other places. (..that all men are created equal..) But to Mr. Combs, it is still Obama's mix of parentage that somehow qualifies him for the highest office in the world, and Palin's heritage that somehow disqualifies her.

Mr. Combs judged Obama and Palin by the color of their skin, not the content of their character.

No one can think that this should even be an issue.

You know, NH teaches abstinence only in the schools too. That does not mean that teens don't use birth control. It means that they don't get it from the school nurse without parental permission. I agree with them, I always have.

That said, I have 4 daughters and when they needed birth control I helped them to consider the issues and choose appropriatly. Sarah Palin is a member of Feminists for Life. I would strongly suspect that she would do the same as I did.

I don't know about you folks, but to me this explains a LOT.

So to Mr. Dudley Doodle here, it all has to be about pandering to young black crackheads? And anything else is "buggin'"? I'm not surprised that this guy is screwed up, but his how far out into some sort of whacked-out alternate reality he is is eye-opening. re: #244 Silhouette

Well put Silhouette. I think a lot of American's aren't aware of how unique America is. We don't have a cast system in America.

Alaska? Yes Mr. Diddy where exactly is Alaska? But of course, this exercise was too difficult for you because you would have had to look on a map to find out where Alaska is - perhaps your Garmand did not have that feature...

Yes Mr. Diddy, we are all bugg'in...but when it comes to voting, this constituency knows how to find our polling location on November 4. In reality there are military bases in Alaska and anywhere you find military bases you will find honorable black people defending America. Many of them tend to retire to towns near their last tour of duty, and so Alaska does have a large black community. Alaska is also a land of great opportunity, where people dream large, and sometimes fail large.

LOL! Good catch...

Every major Democrat presidential candidate has attended the Yearly Kos convention. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid keynoted the nutroots’ annual gathering two years ago. Dick Durbin appeared via satellite with the official Senate seal in the background. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sat down with the Kossacks and their ilk for a chat at Netroots Nation this year. Hillary pandered to the Kos crowd last summer. So did Barack Obama.

I really don't know how meaningful it is to be a college grad. Unless he got a degree in science or engineering, he could get by without learning much.

426 Optimizer  Mon, Sep 1, 2008 6:12:42pm

re: #244 Silhouette

And bad.

...

POI: You're assuming no overlap among the ancestors, and that is unlikely. Having 100% ancestry from Northern Europe, myself, I doubt any of my ancestors alive in 1000 lived in Australia. People didn't move around enough back then. The Europeans didn't even know about the existence of some people back then.

Regardless, your greater point is valid.

I stand corrected as to his not having graduated.

Also from the Wikipedia entry: Combs played football at the Roman Catholic Mount Saint Michael Academy.

So, he got a parochial school education, which got him into Howard University, one of the best traditionally black private colleges in the country.

According to the article, he didn't drop out of college because of academic difficulties, but because "[a]t Howard he gained a reputation as a party promoter, showing an early penchant for marketing and promotions, and eventually became an intern at New York's Uptown Records... In a display of his tenacity, he would travel back and forth between Washington and New York, juggling his classes and his internship. He eventually dropped out of Howard... when he became a top executive at Uptown."

In other words, he saw a goldmine there for the taking.

And let's not forget this perfect storm of greed (also from the Wikipedia article):

In 1991, Combs promoted a concert headlined by Heavy D. The concert was held at a City College of New York gymnasium following an AIDS charity basketball game. The event was massively overcrowded; it was oversold to almost twice the capacity of the gymnasium. In addition, thousands without tickets were outside. In order to keep them from sneaking in, Combs's people shut the only door to a stairwell and put a table behind it, despite the crowd jammed inside pounding on the door and pleading for help. At some point people in the crowd outside broke several glass doors in an attempt to get in; this caused a stampede inside the gymnasium in which nine people died... In a 1999 ruling, a Court of Claims judge found Puff Daddy and Heavy D. responsible for 50 percent of the incident. City College bore the rest of the responsibility in part for abandoning security responsibility to Puff Daddy, even though they knew the event was oversold.

Diddy better stick to his day job. sampling old hits from the past. Palin and the state of Alaska is above his pay grade.

I'm not by far the first in this thread to claim that Diddy sounds mentally handicapped in the video. Funny you should take issue with me.

You have either thrown around or updinged far more classless words about me, and I invite you to go elsewhere if you want to pick a fight.

You mean you consider words like "fucktard" (and a few others based on obcenities) to be more classless than "retarded"? Silly you!

re: #58 Silhouette

Governorships are suddenly, out of nowhere, ineligible for presidential experience, because they are local, not federal.

Hmmm, did they consider the governorships of Arkansas or Georgia to be sufficient to make CLinton and Carter eligible for teh presidency?

Careful what you decide, moonbats. First you say young is bad (Quayle) then old is awful, then war experience is completely unnecessary, then it is absolutely vital. All depending on who you are running.

Do try for some consistency. Especially the next time when your candidate has "only" been a governor.

I just started a new file for myself on Governor Palin, things I want to remember, talking points, arguments, etc., and yours was the first thing I put into it! Awesome observation!

I wonder though if the size of the state would make a difference if it were a male? That there are states smaller in population --like Wyoming and Vermont to name two and several not that much larger where other governors have been considered as potential VP and/or even some who ran for President.

The size of the state governed has never been an issue before as far as I can recall and I have been voting for decades.

re: #454 Proud to be American

I just heard a "news" report from that obnoxious CBC channel -- there's a "reporter" who supports Hezbollah (claims he also speaks Arabic, and one who's never met an Islamist murderer he didn't love), and this "individual" "reported" precisely the same thing -- that is -- that the Down's syndrome child (Trig) is Bristol's child (this all done as a quote from a website -- I'm assuming it's the KKKos site...) Yeah, that's the level of reporting of the "news" we get up here...the equivalent of a KKKos Website (only it's done at taxpayers expense, of course). (oh, and along with that -- there was yet another "report" -- the "reporters" all breathless and excited -- that about "educating for the 21 century" -- the CBC is proclaiming that there are now new textbooks out to "educate" Canadian school children -- as I laugh..they interviewed the "author" -- she's all about making subjects "relevant" and so is educating students re: "genocide" and other topics such as "I'm a Canadian Muslim"; and political essays which the author claims is based on things like Michael Moore and Naomi what's her name...(that ultra leftist one...) (I just surprised they didn't mention that other Canadian "hero" -- the former CBC reporter who quit and now works for Al-Jazeera..

The only thing that I got is that Sarah Palin is a crime fighter, keeps her State clean, and by that lamentation is also a racist(meaning that the 0 crime, 0 crack abuse, 0 blacks are all proportionate). So in Puffy's world, Blacks are synonymous with crackheads and criminals. No wonder, Puffy has been in court before so it must seem natural.

What a racist, trashy, incoherent stammering of illogical logic.

re: #505 MadJadBad

I remember reading somewhere that the older the mother is, the greater the chances are for Down's Syndrome.

Older fathers figure in as well.

The majority of Down Syndrome babies are born to mothers under the age of 35 due to the vast number of women who have babies in their early years. The risk increases slowly after age 30 and rises rapidly after age 40.

I guess it was just too much of an effort for Mr. P. Diddlysquat for brains to even to a google search on Mrs. Palin or African Americans in Alaska. Otherwise he just might have found that Gov. Palin came in second in the Ms. Alaska contest in 1984 to Maryline Blackburn, the first African Alaskan American to win the pageant.

[Link: www.missalaskapageant.com...]

As for the Rev Wright's calling Barack Obamanation a boy (just after Djimmah Carter had done so) without being called out on it, and in the same sentence saying it would be the first time an African American woman had slept in the white house as a free woman (non slave, etc), he obviously has lost his mind. I am sure that during the Clinton Administration Maya Angelou (yes an African American women) slept in the Lincoln Bedroom. I am also quite certain that the wife of African American Mayor Kurt Schmoke also slept overnight in the Lincoln Bedroom of the White house during the Clinton Administration, and that she wasn't a slave at that time either.

537 calebspeaks  Tue, Sep 2, 2008 7:38:52am

Diddy,

As somebody who usually tolerates most of your music, since it part of the same broad genre of stuff I listen to, and who owns several pieces of your clothing, allow me to let you in on a little secret: nobody, not even your fans, gives a damn. Seriously, the few crackheads that base their political policies off of the nonsense you spew are either in jail, out of jail and without voting rights, or will be in too much of a drug-induced stupor to vote. And the rest of us, we don't respect you as a political analyst, a policy maker, or really as a serious human being. We actually, you know, bother to learn the facts before forming an opinion, rather than making idiotic Youtube videos asking about the racial composition of Alaska.

And yes, I reluctantly support McCain. It isn't because I think he's a great choice, or even a good one. But Obama? The man has no experience, a fundamental misunderstanding of the Islamist threat, and dangerous economic policies (that would hurt you among other people). I, as a college student and political activist am about as qualified for the job as he is. The primary difference, aside from my legal ineligibility due to age, is that I can't play the race card to guilt in voters and then claim to be post-racial.

Sincerely,
Caleb Posner

So, in Alaska, where Palin launched her political career, there are no black people, crackheads, criminals, etc. - meaning that her experience is too narrow for someone "a heartbeat away" from the presidency.

In Hyde Park, where BHO launched his political career, there are all of those diverse folks, but no Republicans. I know that for a fact, because when I was growing up there 30 years ago our family and the Scalias (across the street) were the only Republicans in the 'hood, and we've all moved away since then.

That's why BHO feels so equipped to effect "change" and "unity": his experience has taught him that he doesn't need to deal with half of the electorate.
