Sure it counts, but the point is slavery has existed as long as man. You can go back 200 years, or 500, or 2000, etc. We know the Mayans has slaves. We know the Egyptians had slaves. Africans had slaves. Slavery was prevalent. It's not obvious that it's wrong. It probably seems so to us, but that's because we have the benefit of the ideas of men like John Locke.

Given that with each generation your number of ancestors doubles (2 parents, 4 grandparents, 8 great grandparents, etc.), and assuming 3 generations per century, the average 20-50 year old person has about 500 million direct ancestors alive in the year 1000.

You know, NH teaches abstinence only in the schools too. That does not mean that teens don't use birth control. It means that they don't get it from the school nurse without parental permission. I agree with them, I always have.

That said, I have 4 daughters and when they needed birth control I helped them to consider the issues and choose appropriatly. Sarah Palin is a member of Feminists for Life. I would strongly suspect that she would do the same as I did.
