Undercover Mosque: The Return

Mon, Sep 1, 2008 at 6:24:14 pm PDT

The British Channel 4 show Dispatches has done a followup to Undercover Mosque, with an undercover female reporter this time—and the revelations about what’s being preached in British mosques are no less shocking than the first go-round.

Islamism hasn't changed - shocking.

They must be crushed and destroyed - factual.

They went back to see if they were true to their word... Muslims don't have to be true to their word to infidels, so no.

8 Geepers  Mon, Sep 1, 2008 6:28:08pm

A follow up? I figured they'd all be in jail by now for, you know, spreading islamophobia telling the truth.

9 Silhouette  Mon, Sep 1, 2008 6:29:41pm

Just one "isolated incident" after another.

Bingo!

Islam codifies all the worst characteristics of human nature, and holds them up as virtue.

Woe to them that call evil good, and good evil.

Overall there were no mainstream Muslim scholars on the show, which is a relief. It seems that all the documentary makers managed to expose was a small group of people who I'm sure in good time Muslims will isolate. These type of extremists are far and few apart and I'm sure you will find them in Judaism, Hinduism and Christianity. Looking forward to Undercover Synagogues, even Undercover Churches.

The ICC is committed to inter-faith and cross-cultural understanding.

It does not support or condone extreme views, racial hatred, violence or intolerance.

Glaringly missing from this is a statement of condemnation for such views.

I visited the Regent's Park Mosque when I was in London this spring. It's a remarkable piece of real estate. Nestled next to villas that real money can't buy. I suspect the surrounding properties are mostly owned by the royal family.

43 Silhouette  Mon, Sep 1, 2008 6:58:57pm

I see a recurring theme in the denials. They keep qualifying that they didn't mean these things to happen here, but only in a fully Muslim state, with a Muslim leader.

Then you think it is okay? And secondly, do you wish to make an Islamic state here?

54 infidel Alan  Mon, Sep 1, 2008 7:04:02pm

This afternoon I went to a Labor Day party at the home of a senior University of California faculty member. It was a very nice affair and the food was home-cooked. But I knew there would be political bad behavior and I was surprised that nobody was ranting about the election or the candidates. I overheard some calm chitchat about Obama but was going to give them credit for adult behavior. Then, on my way out, I got buttonholed by a 92-year-old molecular biologist who still does research. Everything was fine until he started in about how he hoped some levees would break and there would be flooding through Thursday and how I could guess his true colors from that. It never fails--at a gathering of "progressives" there is always somebody that just can't resist showing how politically hip and clever they are by going way over the line. Because of his age I didn't call him on it; I just ignored his remarks, made my goodbyes and left, my prediction fulfilled and my contempt for "progressives" intact.

Here's the problem: Chanel 4 is blaming the Saudis but what about the British Muslims who pack these mosques? Religion is a consumer driven industry. UK muslisms are to blame for showing up at these mosques, if they were so far out of the mainstream then why are people still attending services? How many people attend Fred Phelp's sermons? There's still a huge problem in the UK.

re: #101 Killgore Trout

Here's the problem: Chanel 4 is blaming the Saudis but what about the British Muslims who pack these mosques? Religion is a consumer driven industry. UK Muslims are to blame for showing up at these mosques, if they were so far out of the mainstream then why are people still attending services? How many people attend Fred Phelp's sermons? There's still a huge problem in the UK.

Nothing a good Caterpillar bulldozer couldn't fix....IMO, if Mosque leaders teach hatred and intolerance, its time to flatten that Mosque, salt the earth and deport the people who attended it to wherever they or their parents immigrated from.

These videos are done by sending people comfortable enough with Islamic customs into Mosques and such to see what is being taught and discussed. There's nothing clever enough for me to say that could possibly do this quote justice.

So the political troubles also continue in Japan. Fukuda is resigning having been in office for less than a year and having taken over from Abe who had a kind of a break-down just one year into his tenure. Gone are the days of Koizumi when Japan played its rightful part of the world stage and had dynamic activity within country. Next may be a guy named Aso who is a bit of a maverick and a bit of a hawk, the kind who might send a "self-defence" force to somemeaningless rock to flip off the Koreans and just to show he can.

Little boy, deformed leg. Quite a bit of convincing to do a BKA, and go with a prosthetic leg.

They would have none of it. In that society, if you are missing a limb, or are deformed, it is viewed as a curse from allah.

It dawned on my, they hopped on a plane and traveled half way around the world for something that would be pretty common in any westernized country with a children's medical facility.

Even more, the way this boy treated his mother was atrocious.

Hope that when McCain gets in he will issue an executive finding that the NYT is not to be considered a reliable or accurate source of information due to a list of scandals to be noted Blair etc. and therefor while he would not presume to bar them from the press room they should be afforded the same level of courtesy and assistance by the White House Press Office as is given to all other media and no more, That means they get what the Trolleytown Gazette gets. After paying for grilling courses, (not cooking) the most common mistake people make when grilling is not letting the grill get hot enough.

Second, is only turning the meat once.

Third, if you really want some excellent grilled meat, brine what you plan to put on the grill.

One cup of kosher salt to a gallon of water for every 4 pounds of meat.

It hydrates the cells of the meat.

Most tender grill you will ever have.

Doesn't sound good ...

moby - An insidious and specialized type of left-wing troll who visits blogs and impersonates a conservative for the purpose of either spreading false rumors intended to sow dissension among conservative voters, or who purposely posts inflammatory and offensive comments for the purpose of discrediting the blog in question. The term is derived from the name of the liberal musician Moby, who famously suggested in February of 2004 that left-wing activists engage in this type of subterfuge: “For example, you can go on all the pro-life chat rooms and say you’re an outraged right-wing voter and that you know that George Bush drove an ex-girlfriend to an abortion clinic and paid for her to get an abortion. Then you go to an anti-immigration Web site chat room and ask, ‘What’s all this about George Bush proposing amnesty for illegal aliens?’” The strategy has been frequently attempted on LGF and elsewhere, but has not been nearly as effective as Moby envisioned, since false rumors are easily debunked by fact-checking minions, and cartoonishly extreme commenters often get immediately identified as mobys and banned from LGF.

re: #239 pingjockey

You can do it if you have a strong stomach. It is akin to the rendering plant I went to the other day!

I know. My Dad zt'l was a butcher, and he took me to one when I was a kid, and also to Fanuel Hall, in Boston, before Thanksgiving, when he went to pick out the live turkeys he wanted...he had me on his shoulders. Sawdust all over the floor, and very noisy! That used to be the market in Boston, many decades ago. And I am a retired RN, who saw enough gore...you can fill in the dots.

But if there is any kind of bug flying or crawling around indoors? NY Grampa has to kill it! I cringe.

And my daughter is worse than I am..she called us at about 1-1:30 AM to come from near the CT/NY border to Queens, to kill some water bugs that are part of NYC life! We did...she now has our son in law to do it!

She took me into her bedroom, closed the door, and NY Grampa slayed them mightily! ;)

I had a grill ignition FAIL tonight. Using some year old Match Light, I tried to get it going, didn't have any lighter fluid. It wouldn't light. Finally gave up, cooked the steaks on the stove top. Had a nice dinner just the same.

Looked at back at the grill just a few minutes ago, now it is blazing away.

I could be wrong, meaning this is not researched, but I believe a sled is any platform used to carry objects in transport by being pulled that does not have wheels. A sleigh is a subset of sleds that has rails for skating over the ice and primarily is desingened to seat people. That sounds good enough that I don't want to ruin it my looking it up.

I like Rush most of the time, but I stopped listening to Hannity a long time ago. What a dunderhead! I'm very unhappy with his continued association with Pat Buchanan. I hate the way he hypes his show continually during the show rather than just DOING the show. And I can't stand 'Dr. Hannity.' WTH? He doesn't know shite about shite and he's giving advice?

Noooooo likey.

the LLL can always point to Hannity for proof right wingers are vapid flag waving übernationalists who'll sing the star spangled banner instead of making an argument.

Fur piece.

It's not what one wears to an elegant occasion, but rather how far one has to drive to get to there.

I don't remember this story.

A 4000-pound hippopotamus, Bubbles won national attention in late February 1978 when she escaped from a wild animal park (the now-defunct Lion Country Safari) in Irvine, California.

Finding refuge in a rain-filled pond, she eluded capture for 19 days.

Bubbles was finally taken down with tranquilizer darts. Tragically, she collapsed in an unnatural position, and died from suffocation.

An autopsy revealed she was five months pregnant.

Honey you have no idea! We stopped at the local Quickie Mart so that I could buy some milk and just before I could open the door I saw this bonehead light a cig just as he was finished filling up his car with gas. As he sauntered over to pay I looked at him and said "Put that cigarette out or do you want to blow the place up, ya bloody idiot!" Lots of people at that time of day and not ONE called him out and I could just see the whole place go up in an explosion.

His response?

No concern that he could have put anyone in mortal danger and he was very insulted that I called him an idiot.

So he says to me, "I can guarantee you that I have a much easier and richer life than you."

And I said, "So what does that have to do with you being an idiot?"

Quebec plates - explained everything. UN-believable.

Interesting, but I'm skeptical. The report doesn't cite any named sources. It hasn't appeared in any of the more respected papers, that I can find. And on a lesser note, I can't for the life of me think why the United States would hand over the blueprints to such an attack to our friends in.... the Netherlands?

You need a gunny sack for a slew. A passel can be handled with maybe two long stringers.

Still reading about famous dead animals

Chips, the WW II Hero A shepherd-sled dog mix trained at the “K-9” Center Front Royal, Virginia in 1942, he was one of the first dogs to be shipped overseas. He served in General Patton's brutal Africa campaign, then waded ashore with Patton's 3rd Division 7th Army into Sicily.

In the invasion of Sicily July 1943, he and his handler were attacked by a concealed machine gun. He streaked for gun pillbox, capturing 4 Italian soldiers saving his handler.

He suffered a bullet wound, burns and a scalp wound in his attack. The same night he helped capture another 10 Italian soldiers and U.S. newspapers called him a hero.
