MSM Explains Away Egg on Face

Tue, Sep 2, 2008 at 6:05:10 pm PDT

Reuters headlines their article on the Sarah Palin blog-o-smears story: Palin hubbub shows bloggers’ influence on race.

My take is a little different. I think it shows the influence of a bunch of borderline sociopaths on a mainstream media that often consists of the same sort of people.

Everybody falls for bogus stories eventually. It's one of the hazards of blogging. The key issue here is the Koskidz made up the story out of thin air and there aren't enough people on the left with critical thinking skills to to kill the rumour. They wanted to believe it and they didn't care if it was true as long as it advanced their cause.

19 Zombie_Killian  Tue, Sep 2, 2008 6:11:36pm

I'm not sure who's worse. Insufferable sociopathic bloggers are insufferable, but at least they don't pretend to be objective.

McCain's rival in the November 4 election race, Democrat Barack Obama, has also battled the online rumor mill. Obama's campaign has set up a Web site to knock down false reports, spread via e-mail, that he is Muslim or harbors anti-American sentiments.

Perhaps reverend wright or ayers could help him with that.

A Dkos diary from a few weeks ago....
Let's Be Completely Honest ... Lie

If you want to convert someone to your position, lie to them.

If you want to support Obama, lie about John McCain. hell, tell the truth about John McCain - but ad don any other thing you can think of that is outrageous.

If you are talking about the election to an NRA member, tell them John McCain hates guns. If you are talking to a religious figure, tell them that John McCain is an atheist (this pains me to say as an atheist, as it infers something wrong with atheism, but we all must sacrifice here!). Lie. Lie with abandon. Lie without regret.
....
This election is of paramount importance, with McCain trying to reignite the cold war, an Iranian War, and more love to corporations like Exxon ... morality is not a luxury we have available to us.

So let's be completely honest.... LIE.

Progressive values!

35 David IV of Georgia  Tue, Sep 2, 2008 6:14:51pm

At LGF, people say all sorts of outrageous things. Eventually there is a call to substantiate or be quiet. Those who persist in repeating and promoting unsupportable claims disappear.

We are a band of brothers and native to the soil

I would love to see, after this election, a survey of when and where and what caused people to make up their mind on this election. I believe blogging might be the leader. Also I believe that blogging, like this site, is a dialectic where someone puts something out, someone responds and it helixes into some sort of community archetype. Sometimes just being able to post to a site like this or on the other side dKos cement's someone's choice. When you want to express an argument, having to at least try to coherently write it down, you sometimes convince yourself in the process. Especially this site which while it does get haunted by trolls and moonbats....also has some very wise and mature commentators as well.

So what I am getting around to......Charles for the good of the nation, you might want to open that new lizard door just a hair larger.

My take is a little different. I think it shows the influence of a bunch of borderline sociopaths on a mainstream media that often consists of the same sort of people.

Pretty much, man. Pretty much.

In happier news, Lindsay Lohan has generously offered Gov. Palin some advice on her own blog:

I am concerned with the fact that Sarah Palin brought the attention to her daughter's pregnancy, rather than all world issues and what she believes she could possibly do to change them-if elected. I get Sarah Palin's views against abortion, but i would much prefer to hear more about what she can do for our country rather than how her daughter is going to have a child no matter what.
Maybe focus on delivering some words and policy with stronger impact like Joe Biden.

Well said, Lindsay. Well said. You've got a bright future in politics, young lady.

"I think it shows the influence of a bunch of borderline sociopaths on a mainstream media that often consists of the same sort of people."

I couldn't have said it better myself, Charles.
Just the fact that the MSM didn't even realize that simple fact shows their problem.

Unfortunately, my guess is, it'll only get worse over time.

What ever happened to the good ol' days when the biased MSM actually reported news, even with their left-leaning bent? Now, there's not even news being reported.

I would bet that there are more stories over the past few days about Palin's daughter's pregnancy - in a couple of days - than all of the stories about Obama and Ayers since the beginning of his campaign - last year!

We need Obama, not 4 more years of George Bush

If McCain wins, look for a full-fledged race and class war, fueled by a deflated and depressed country, soaring crime, homelessness - and hopelessness!

Obama understands that people are suffering. Every week, prices go up at the supermarket, and people are unable to feed their families. It already is dark and stormy for millions, who can't even afford pencils, book bags and lunch money for their children.

But when Obama wins the White House, we may just see a revolution that can turn the tide and improve this nation for everyone, not just a select few.

I think the author Fatimah Ali would like to see riots.

Now there's a story (equally vile, totally fictitious, fabricated) and suddenly the MSM has absolutely no qualms about picking it up. Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr., the Democratic vice-presidential nominee, received five student draft deferments during the Vietnam War,

Mr. Biden registered Feb. 15, 1961, with the Selective Service, when he was an 18-year-old student at Archmere Academy in Wilmington.

More deferments came in roughly 12-month intervals, the last in January 1968, shortly before he graduated from law school at Syracuse University.

As a result of a physical exam on April 5, 1968, Joe Biden was classified 1-Y and disqualified from service because of asthma as a teenager,”

In “Promises to Keep,” a memoir that was published last year and became an instant best-seller after he was tapped as Mr. Obama's running mate, Mr. Biden never mentions his asthma, recounting an active childhood, work as a lifeguard and football exploits in high school.

How low can the Lefty wing nuts go? We have a scared 17 year-old, who is being brave enough to keep her baby instead of the typical Lefty response of discarding a little human being like trash. We have a brave , accomplished woman, who surely knew that the Left would go after her, and took the chance at the nomination anyway. No one could have foreseen the extent of the horrible, hateful, vicious behavior that these women have endured. The Feminists (whatever that now means!) did nothing but cry in their cosmopolitans that a woman wasn't going to the Executive Branch, because Ms. Congenital Liar lost. Now there is a woman with a real chance of being elected, and they treat her like less than dirt. It is sickening.

I am just sickened by how craven the left is, I cant believe how infantile and bitter these people are. They are without honor or character or decency the only redeeming aspect of it all is that every time this happens the MSM's grip loosens a bit more as they alienate more and more people. We MUST be at a point now where only the fever swamp loons are left reading rags like the NYT. Unreal !

This is a routine enquiry that have to be had when somebody complains on public servant. I think that if it had potential MSM would be all over it already, without waiting for the report. OTOH, may be MSM "reporters" have not yet found the way to spin it. Also, they might just get the advice from the media corporate lawyers to keep away from that topic.

Further and in the classic way of the propagandist, he suggested that 'many' at the convention are now wondering just what Mr. McCain was thinking when he made his choice. The innuendo and superior sneer was disgusting. And this crap is what passes for reporting.

I'd just love to give Steve a majority gov't this time so he can clean out the Augean stables at the Ceeb.

#217 Moe. Wouldn't that be a great way to lead into the Nov 4 vote for our American friends!

Course the minor side effect of seeing the last of Dion would be nice too.

What has always struck me as bizarre (disturbed?) is how certain reporters could offer all sorts of excuses for cold-blooded, vicious murderers (that's Hezbollah, for example -- they give glowing reports about Hezbollah's "charity" and "good works", while utterly ignoring the fact that they also murder children/teenagers/elderly, anyone who opposes Hezbollah, Hamas, etc), yet in a completely brutal and cruel fashion attack/sneer at/deride the innocent ones who have the audacity to attempt to defend themselves. (Ditto for this 17 year old -- she can't defend herself -- but these vicious b*stards -- hyenas -- defame and attack her). It is an extremely twisted moral universe in which these "reporters" live...(or as Charles suggests, they're borderline sociopaths...I don't know how else to explain it...)

I see where Bristrol's fiance is coming to the convention tomorrow.. A great idea I think... show what pro-life is all about.

JS. I will be writing a withering letter to the Pres of CBC tomorrow on this matter.

It is one thing for Neil to try and keep the smear going - it is quite another for the network to put the story on air again.

I think the only thing that might catch the CBC's attention is a multi-million dollar defamation lawsuit... Frankly, I'd like to see that happen (and then to have all those responsible fired. They do not deserve to be in the broadcast news business...) (but good on you for the letter!)

Would it make sense to have Canadian lizards sign it en masse?

re: #100 Reality_Wrangler

MSNBC: Carly Firoino just handed Andrea Mitchell BHO's head on a silver plate regarding the experience question. AM walked right into it with a smug question about Palin's experience, and Carly looked her right in the eyes and let her have it with the "she has made more exec decisions that BO has made in his entire life." Mitchell was speechless. Cut to Olbermann, you could see the vein's popping in his temples, and he switched the subject to Bush and went to commercial. It was beautiful.

This is a clip that should be played repeatedly on television all across the country, with "I am John McCain, and I approved this message." at the end.

There is no explaining such vile behavior.

Sure there is! And The Great Lizard had it almost right: They are full fledged sociopaths with a sprinkling of Borderline Personality disorder.

American traitors...not heroes.
The Dems honor traitors.

I never knew there were so many cute Republicans. I mean my wife is a republican and hot to bot but I thought she may have been the only one.

My wife is also hot and is a conservative (politically speaking).

OK Aside from that, let's compare:

Ann Coulter --- Helen Thomas

Michelle Malkin --- Ariana Huffington

Sarah Palin --- Geraldine Ferraro

.......I rest my case......

(ummm.... hoping not to cause any nightmares with that mention of Helen Thomas......)

What happened to the Kos story about the ABC blog about the possibly photo-shopped cover of US magazine?

[Link: www.ynetnews.com...]

Notice that the top does not have the date. The 9/8/08 issue on the newstands shows Shannon Doherty (?).

My take is a little different. I think it shows the influence of a bunch of borderline sociopaths on a mainstream media that often consists of the same sort of people.

Don't you mean "in" not "on"?

Charles said:

How very true. The mainstream media's leftist/pro Democrat bias is well known, and as the ideological soul mates of Daily Kos and Democratic Underground, it's no surprise they would go with whatever idiocy those people come up with.

What I think is funny is that it's the so called "progressives", who are supposed to be so tolerant and open minded, who are the primary suppliers of political bile and slime. I just don't see that kind of hatred spewing from conservative sites. Yet we're the "evil conservatives."

That's why whenever one of my conservative friends talk about staying home and not voting in an election, I send them links to Daily Kos and DU asking them "you want these nuts to win?" Works almost every time!

Well, for the US Magazine demographic the most important attribute of a candidate is name recognition. If you took a poll of their readers, most would probably say "Who's Biden? Never heard of him."

One other thing that I have noticed is that most of the comments I've read at blogs with lots of liberals (digg, livejournal, etc) are comparing Palin with Obama, not Biden. Biden has been a ghost so far in this campaign.

Speaking of egg on the face, here is solid proof of the msm's brazen bias in favor of Obama, and against the Mccain/Palin ticket [Link: www.worldnetdaily.com...]
I hope Mrs.Palin and her family bring a lawsuit against this disgusting magazine and it's owner and Obama fan.

re: #32 livefreeor die

They are lower than low. On the bright side, I don't think I've ever seen them this intimidated by a candidate.

Intimidated? They're scared shitless. And who can blame them? The Democrat's balanced ticket consists of an empty suit and a stuffed shirt.

re: #34 BingoBunny

I'm amazed that MSM checks Palin's 17 year old daughter like a Nazi war criminal working In NASA.. but ignores BH Obama's own words of what he was doing at 17.. smoking crack and pot

Well, smoking dope is an acceptable liberal social pastime. It may also be a required rite of passage into the wonderful wacky world of liberalism.
