If a man gets pregnant how is he to know the child is his own?

Well, maybe it is really an alien larva implanted in him, which will be born and eat its host, the way some wasps, I think, or is it spiders, lay their eggs.
So all he has to do is make sure it is human and not some alien insect eggs.
/do I need to?

What the hey. It's all blather anyways. They do not think about it or even really read it. Nothing goes into the deep brain. This can happen to people working in many jobs. You hope the physician fights it but I'm not sure of a foolproof technique.

On my first ship the Chaplain was a very charismatic guy who looked like a televangelist. Being the only Jewish officer I was instantly made a lay leader and assigned the job of assisting him by selling the Cruise Book, like a HS yearbook for the deployment. Guess that was under the theory of "Sales? oh yeah you should know this you're a Jew right?" The Chaplain Commander figured we could cut costs and get the Marines to buy the book if we didn't put all their photos in but just three, one Black, one White, one Brown since, "They'll all point and say that's me."

59 Sharmuta  Wed, Sep 3, 2008 11:02:08am

Obama/Biden to prosecute the Bush regime.....
Biden Rips Bush Administration

Looking to the future but with one eye on the past, Biden also promised that an Obama-Biden government would go through Bush administration data with "a fine-toothed comb" and pursue criminal charges if necessary.

"If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation," he said, "they will be pursued, not out of vengeance, not out of retribution - out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no one, no attorney general, no president, no one is above the law."

In a broad sense it is their equivalent, it is the national holiday that celebrates the birth of Republican France, and it takes place in the first half of July, which is useful for holidays of that kind---Canada's is July 1.

Stanley Ann Dunham Soetoro (November 29, 1942 – November 7, 1995), known as Ann Dunham, and later as Ann Sutoro[1] was the mother of United States Senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama.[2]

re: #97 Halman

That's gotta hurt !

Ask a female hyena.

But providing the extra hormones takes a toll on the mother. The dose of androgen that she received from her own alpha mother damages her ovaries, making it difficult to conceive.

It also causes female reproductive organs to grow. A lot. Her clitoris, which contains the birthing canal, protrudes 7 inches from her body.

"Imagine giving birth through a penis," said study co-author Kay Holekamp of Michigan State University. "It's really weird genitalia, but it seems to work. Although giving birth through a 'penis' isn't a trivial problem."

The clitoris' birth canal is only an inch in diameter, and the tissue often tears as a 2-pound cub squeezes through the narrow opening. The rip can be fatal, as evidenced by the high death rate for first-time mothers.

So if... gawd fuhbid... we wind up with President Obama, we can say: "Well, this is a fine mess you've gotten us into, Stanley."

The family moved to Mercer Island, Washington, in 1956 so that 13-year old Ann could attend the Mercer Island high school that had just opened,[6] where teachers Val Foubert and Jim Wichterman taught the importance of challenging societal norms and questioning authority.

Great. Commie teachers in public schools. The whole Obama as Marxist thing is their fault.

I know this is red meat for the Democrats who are going to vote for Obama/Biden anyway, but does anyone know how this plays with the Independents? Do they really want to open up this can of worms?

Opening this can of worms might very well spell our death knell and lead to a second War Between the States. Public officials are almost entirely immune from prosecution and that certainly applies to the President. They had the chance to impeach Bush, but they don't get to charge him with a crime.

Commentary: America, meet Sarah Palin

It is easy to see why Alaskans hold the affection they do for their governor. She holds over 80 percent approval ratings in part because she connects with people. During her campaign for City Council, she and Todd went door to door pulling a wagon with their son Track, 4, and 2-year-old daughter, Bristol.

She doesn't have to pretend to understand the sensibilities of the average citizen, because she's been there; she and her family have experienced the same struggles to get by.

Could it be possible that that was what was written on the teleprompter? How could anyone make that kind of mistake since he was obviously reading off a teleprompter?

Possible. but when you're reading you aren't reading a word, verifying it, spitting it out. You are parsing the data in blocks, so there is still a window of opportunity to misspeak, or jumble words around.

Boy, you really want a shotgun wedding, don't you? There isn't a woman in the world who does not want a wedding day to remember for a lifetime - no matter what. Even if she delivers two days later, or divorces in ten years or doesn't tie the knot until the kid is 3 years old.

Biden Rips Bush Administration

Really, there should be a warning that you're linking to hate sites like DailyKos, DU, or Huffington Post. I don't want to waste my bandwidth and/or time on such vile detritus.

Having said that, opening the option for reviewing Bush and his actions opens up a whole keg of worms that the political imbecile Obama does not want to open. 1) Attack political opponents and incarcerating them for political purpose--is this the road Obama wants to go? Stalinism is just around the corner. 2) Assuming Obama takes office, does he want to be exposed to this sort of scrutiny for his actions when he leaves office? 3) I thought the dems wanted to be seen as uniters. How can you heal the nation when you are willing to tear it apart in such a gross manner. Even post-Nixon, LBJ pardoned Nixon for his involvement in those heinous acts. That mollified the populace and brought it back together.

It is stupidity and plays only to the extremist regimes on the left.

But then, Thank you McCain for nominating Palin to be VP. She's more of a man than Obama and has let the left and the lmsm expose themselves for the bovine sexists and hypocrites they are. Instead of voting against Obama, I will now be voting FOR McCain/Palin. It is easier and more productive/effective to have people vote FOR you, than AGAINST your opponent.

The Cold Civil War that has been going on and steadily heating up since the 2000 election has taken a quantum leap in intensity with the naming of Sarah Palin as VP nominee. I hope McCain realizes just what is at stake here. If he wavers in his support for her. allows the mob to be victorious, and hands them a victory, we're screwed as a country. Right now it doesn't look like it would happen, but who knows what other crap the MSM and lefty bloggers are going to dig up.

Whatever the election results, the tnesion will only increase. If an Obama administration tries to pull something like charging/trying the Bush Admin as discussed, and/or stifling dissent via the Fairness Doctrine or some other method, and/or make a gun grab, there is going to be serious unrest. Same if there is a terorrist attack on our soil and Obama does not respond appropriately. And if McCain wins there is going to be a collective leftoid meltdown the likes of which we've never seen.

Either way, the result is going to be serious unrest.

Guatemala, Romania, perhaps other countries, have found people stealing children to put up for adoption through corrupt "adoption agencies" because these brokers command many thousands of dollars per adoption.

China makes families go to China, spend lots of money, perhaps more than once per child. I personally know someone who adopted from Russia and had to make a couple trips. The Russians also baited & switched babies and played all sorts of games with Americans desperate to adopt babies.

Since he's the Chosen One, I'm sure he never doubts for a moment that the universe came together just to ensure his glorious arrival.

After reading "The Obama Nation", I can really see how this man has become the person he is. His biological father was never a part of his life. He only met him after he was a toddler briefly when he was 10. His mother was of the "all about finding myself" generation. His grandparents did the best they could, I'm sure, to try to indulge him to make up for the shortcomings. The rest is history as he found himself a "home" in a radical black Chicago neighborhood.

re: #351 infidel Alan

I just woke up, you'll have to pardon my historical inaccuracy.

Ford wasn't re-elected due to Nixon's Pardon, but due to his inability to actually stand up for something and lead. His actions led to detente with the Soviet Union and domestically recession and inflation that Carter would exacerbate. Ford was a poor leader, he didn't want the presidency and only fell into place after Spiro Agnew resigned and Nixon appointed him. All Ford wanted was the House.

He lost to Carter on a small margin, but that was because he was a weak leader. Historians may point to the Nixon pardon as the reason, but that's only part of the equation. A stronger leader grounded in his roots would have been able to overcome that obstacle.

The answer is, "None of their f**king business." Our distant family got slit up a treat years ago when they began offering unsolicited "advice" concerning one of ours who was a "special needs" kid. They were told firmly but politely where to get off. Most respected our wishes. However, one member acted put out. They thought we endangering the child but not following their sage advice (though they had no kids of their own) and threatened to report us to CPS. The rest of the families - mine and my wife's-told them to STFU and leave us alone. Long story short--we were right and they were ultimately wrong about everything.

This sounds like a typical governmental mindset; we have a "right" to know if you are doing the right thing--as we, of course, define the "right thing"

re: #277 Dianna

I would also support any young woman who decided to give the baby up for adoption. Particularly if the young people involved had any doubts about marriage.

Many fewer young women would get abortions if they felt that they weren't going to be completely destroyed by the pregnancy. The loneliness and the sense that you're going to be stuck, no matter what you do, does more to send the young women to the clinic than anything else.

I am going to (shamelessly) repeat my request here for pro-life lizards to please consider volunteering at a hospital, clinic, or birth counseling center a few hours per month to be a mentor or assistant for young women alone in crisis who have made the choice to have their babies. (And I promise not to post about this again -okay, for at least 6 months :))

Not every young woman has a support system, and too many are abandoned and overwhelmed. Drive a new mom home from the hospital, or help mind her other child at the house while she delivers, bring books to a new family and show a mother who has herself had little or no nurturing how you read to your own toddlers (introduce the young family to the library asap!), make up a holiday basket, drive to the prenatal clinic, or the grocery store right after the birth. Those with true grace and grit may wish to consider acting as a driver or baby-holder to help not-for-profit foster care agencies bring children for visitation to mothers in correctional or mental health institutions who are separated from their little ones.

Pro-life simply begins with the birth, and I promise you that once you have seen a 6 year old who has never had an stuffed Easter bunny, you will be hooked. Those who are grumped out about such folks leaning on the taxpayer's dime can affect lives by 'grandparent' style mentoring: explaining the long road of your career path (while making a pot of soup perhaps)- most of ours were inspiring simply because we had plenty to overcome. Thanks to those interested in reading or considering this!

C'mon Donks, put your money where your mouth is.

That would make sense in a world where logic was used. Dems want power and they don't care how they get it. If charisma will do it, that's what'll lead. If it's experience, experience will lead. The 'requirements' come later when they want to bash an opponent. That's why they are sometimes inconsistent and obliviously so (I'm speaking of democrat leadership, not the rank & file voter).

If the NYT is fored to retract - you know the story was patently false.

re: #167 Iron Fist

Actually, he is not. His parents were married (bigamous marriage, but still a marriage) on 2/2/61. Hugh Briss was born on 8/4/61 so he was born to people that were married. The fact that the marriage may not have been legal does not make him a bastard any more than John D. Rockefeller Sr. was a bastard. His father had more than one wife at the time John D. was born. After he found out, John D. never talked to him again. Stanley divorced Hugh's father several years later. Hugh Briss may be many things, the best of which is a possible poor imitation of a jackasses' rear end, but legally he is not a bastard unless you wish to run on English common law of the 1500s. Both Mary and Elizabeth became bastards under the law of the time when their father Henry VIII divorced Mary's mother and executed Elizabeth's mother. Edward was not a bastard since his mother died in childbirth even though Henry remarried. I could go through my copy of the contemporary english law under Elizabeth to get the citations that apply. Coke may also have them in his compendium. But wading through the cases in Coke is not my idea of fun. A technicality, and one of really no import. What is important is that both Mr. Briss and Mr. Biden are not in the best interests of our country.

The current DRUDGE page has more incredible and blatant media bias.

US magazine covers. check it out.

I think that those covers were the most outrageous case of a propagandist mass-indoctrination technique that I have yet seen. I do not think that they will be the worst that we will see before election day, sadly.

Since far too many impressionable nitwits are affected by a candidate's popularity, I'm guessing that the 'polling companies' created and supported by donk funding are right now ramping up their efforts to use misleading questions and heavily Dem-stacked respondent pools in order to create numbers intended to limit any McCain bump, and to prevent small Obama losses from developing into irrecoverable free falls. Watch for it....

Look, Mardukhai, I've been hard on you and I should apologize.

However, I wouldn't waste time on this. Even if it were true that at one time any person wanted to secede their state from the Union, it would appear that they've had a serious change of heart if they are running for the second most powerful position in the Federal Executive Branch.

I've done some further browsing on the secessionist issue. According to the SF Gate, Palin's husband was a card-carrying secessionist for seven years. Sarah Palin was always a Republican, BUT is friendly to the secessionists. She taped a video greeting for their party convention.

I want to know the whole story before I go running off to found a third party.

Have you even read the AIP platform? They are not secessionists, you moron. First line of the platform:

To effect full compliance with the constitutions of the United States of America and the State of Alaska.

Sure sound like revolutionaries to me.

I checked the NYT retraction that Semper Gumbi recommended. It's as I said -- They now say that she isn't a member of the AIP, but that the party still claims that her husband was.

I simply want that issue vetted properly. There can be no compromise or accommodation with terrorists, jihadis, communists -- or secessionists.

re: #518 rawmuse

There was a good post (somewhere, darnit) about AIP, and how an Alaska Republican ended up running on their ticket when the Republican party put up a pro-choice, anti-death penalty candidate.

I think that was during the 90's. I can't find it now, and I've looked. I think that's how Todd Palin ended up a member.

As for them being secessionists...that isn't really true.

Hot Air had a headline yesterday about it. They're not as fringe as the more hysterical members of the press are trying to make them sound. I'll see if I can find it.

520 Mardukhai  Wed, Sep 3, 2008 2:23:04pm

re: #497 Dianna

The Steven Frogue scandal in Orange County was a case of party solidarity taken to an absurd and embarrassing extreme.

Frogue was a neo-nazi, an anti-Semite Holocaust denier -- and total doofus -- who got himself elected to the South Orange County Community College District board, which is a big deal here, it's the only political entity that represents the entire region.

But he was a registered Republican, which meant that the rest of the board, with two brave exceptions, supported Frogue through thick and thin. It was a public relations disaster for the party, and Frogue eventually resigned, and was immediately replaced by the county party chairman.

That's one reason why I want to look closely at Sarah Palin. Extremists come in many flavors.

521 Mardukhai  Wed, Sep 3, 2008 2:25:51pm

re: #518 rawmuse

That's rediculous. The State of Alaska's "balance sheet" comes from the same place the Middle Eastern oil ticks' money comes from.

California has a lot more people, and a lot less oil.
