Attack on El Al in Canada Thwarted

Wed, Sep 3, 2008 at 1:29:17 pm PDT

A thwarted attack on an El Al aircrew in Canada was reported today.

JERUSALEM (AFP) - Plans by an unknown group to attack staff of Israel’s national carrier El Al in Canada have been thwarted, Israel’s private Channel Two television reported on Wednesday.

Without giving the nationalities of the alleged attackers, it said they had monitored the comings and goings of El Al aircrew at a Toronto hotel.

Security procedures for crews overnighting at the hotel between flights have now been changed, it added.

On Tuesday, Israeli newspapers reported that at least five attempts by the Lebanese Hezbollah militia to abduct Israeli businessmen in Africa, Asia, and South America had been foiled.

re: #1 Pent.

Is that desperation I smell?

No, that's business. The terrorists in Hizbullah, Hamas, and al Qaeda know that the Israelis may eventually cave and give in to terror demands, so they're looking to kidnap Israelis to force prisoner releases and other concessions from the Israeli government.

It's why it's a real bad idea for any government to give in to terrorist demands. It only encourages further incidents.

When that propane tank blew up a few weeks ago, my son and his wife thought Canada was under attack. It's very close to the airport and to Mississauga where the terror cells were hiding.

Fire extinguisher was knocked over on a shuttle bus.

A man was boarding an LAX FlyAway bus parked in front of Terminal One when his bag hit the fire extinguisher, causing it to loudly discharge a white powdery substance at 10:45 a.m., according to airport spokeswoman Nancy Castles

It was unclear how many people were on the bus, but they were all evacuated safely and questioned by authorities, Castles said.

"There was clearly no fire and there was clearly no explosion," Castles said. "They heard a loud noise, which could have been mistaken for an explosion."

Hazardous materials crews from the Los Angeles Fire Department cleaned up the dry flame retardant powder that was expelled from the extinguisher, she said.

JCM-

I Hate You Sarah Palin

Sure, if she were one of ours, not only would we have nominated her by acclamation, since she fulfills every trope of feminism except for her unfortunate and inexplicable opposition to murdering unborn children, we would also have made at least two TV movies about her life, celebrating her choice to have her fifth child and the announcement yesterday that her 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, is pregnant and is going to marry the teenage father of her child. That’s the kind of heartwarming, inclusive, empowering story we love — she’s like Juno come to life as Juneau, set in Mystery, Alaska.

But she’s not a Democrat, which despite her va-va-va-voom appearance, means she’s not really a woman, which is one of the reasons we’ve spent the past four days since McCain unveiled her trying to tear her limb from limb. Just because she’s the governor of a state sandwiched between two obscure and unimportant countries, Canada and Russia, and spent more time in her first five minutes visiting American troops in Iraq than Evita Barry did during his entire Rainbow Tour, what could she possibly know about foreign policy? It’s not like she’s John Edwards or something.

What makes this funny is he nailed it- she doesn't support the leftist feminist agenda on abortion, so the leftist feminist will allow the politics of misogyny to carry on without comment or condemnation. They make me sick.

Look like Reuters has another one of its embedded photographers busted again.

..."We are concerned to hear about Jassam's detention, and urge the U.S. military to either charge or release him once an initial investigatory stage is concluded," Reuters Editor-in-Chief David Schlesinger said.

"Any accusations against a journalist should be aired publicly and dealt with fairly and swiftly, with the journalist having the right to counsel and present a defense. Iraqi journalists like Jassam play a vital role in telling this story to the world," Schlesinger said...

And they still think taking prisoners is like an episode of COPS where they actually have constitutional rights. If you run with junkyard dogs, don't complain about having fleas.

These Hezbollah guys were proabably based out of Detroit. Dammit, I am sick of seeing/reading about this stuff in a passive sense- if at all. We all ready know that the MSM REFUSES to report on these happenings which leaves all of rest of us vunerable and mostly (present company excluded) uninformed about the dangers out there posed by these misunderstanders of Islam.

It's a damn shame that we all have to wait and see what happens next before anything major will occur from our side. I keep saying that, 'if we survive the next one, it will be interesting to see our response.'

SHIT!

I shouldn't have to hope that I'm around to see things happening either around me or in the world yet that's the way this whole thing is playing out...over and over again.

Mulsims plot to kill Queen in UK- no big deal.
Muslim mosque rampant with hate ideology- no big dea,.
Saudi Arabia funds most worldly Wahhabi influence- nothing to see here.
Honour killings occur in the west- Muslims are peaceful.
Muslims try to kidnap Israeli citizens- huh? Really? No biggee.
Iran developing nukes; threaten 5000 times to destroy Israel- not news worthy.
7/11 London bombs- oh, they are just a tiny minority...
Secret Syrian nuke plant blown up by IDF- nothing to see here.
Muslims indoctrinating their children to 'hate and kill-' no biggee. Let's give them MORE money to teach thier kids! Yay!
Muslims fly into the Trade Center- but Islam is peaceful...
3 teenage kills shot/buried alive in Baluchistan b/c they were getting an education- not news worthy.
Sharia law taking effect in parts of Canada/UK- you have to be TOLERANT of them.
Qaffadi says he's giving up his nukes- hey! France and the US will build you a nuke reactor!
and on and on and on...

I am sick of this shit.

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG GGG!

No doubt, the would-be killers are part of the "broad strata" so there is nothing to report.

Just like the guys who wanted to off the Prime Minister. "Doctor, student, engineer... nothing in common" said the CBC. (The broad strata quote is actually from the RCMP).

One had Mohammend as his first name. Another had Mohammed as his last name. Another one as his middle name.

See? Nothing in common. Just the broad strata.

Ya think?
The Egyptian dentist terrorist who opened fire at El-Al in LAX few years back didn't even have a Muhammad in his name, if I recall correctly. So there, there's no such thing as 'terror'.

What concerns me the most is that unlike the West, the "enemy" doesn't have this same problem. Although it is an obsession, they seem to never forget that there is a war going on...and will discuss, debate, and get passionate over "palestine" at a drop of a Jew.

We report that we now know who the thwarted attackers were: "youths."

How is this for spin.

Hamas Tries To Break Medical Strike is the title....then it goes on to explain how they closed private businesses, and dragged doctors into the public hospitals.

Got to love these choice quotes: There are more though.

We have appointed new doctors, nurses, and health workers in some areas, and there will be various punishments for those who participate in this politically motivated strike," he told AFP.

Doctors and other medical workers went on strike late last week to protest against the firing of 46 health ministry employees, all of whom were linked to secular Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas's Fatah party.

Those working in emergency services, along with health workers loyal to Hamas, did not join the strike.

The striking doctors accuse Hamas of making a spoils system out of the fragile health sector in the impoverished territory of 1.5 million people which has been under a crippling Israeli blockade since the Islamists took power.

Oh its not about a medical strike....its about the Fatah, Hamas rivalry that is going on.

And people thought Speilberg's Munich was an historical film.

.................nope just a remake of a 1980's movie, named Sword of Gideon.

Another cheap old codger who reloads (like I do). The only question gets to be when to really throw the brass. They are good for about 3 reloads before it gets iffy.

Here's an interesting question to ask about the situation that exists in Canada. Apparently they have (de facto) allowed armed agents of hostile foreign powers to operate quite freely on their soil for extended periods of time... Does adverse possession work internationally? How does that mesh with what remains of Canadian sovereignty? Just asking...

He WAS named Mohammed. More precisely, Hesham Mohamed Ali Hedayet. He had no dentist training and was not a dentist. Look him up. Fact checking is fun.

Huh? Islamozoid terrorists are unique to Canuckistan? Never seen any in Yankistan?

Canada isn't unimportant or Islamofascists wouldn't try to blow up Bay Street or kill El Al staff.
I don't know what you've heard but there are people in Canada who don't like Obama and I'm one of them. That caviar socialist shouldn't be allowed to destroy one country and ruin its biggest trading partner.

....and still the Canadian government allows open immigration of these barbarians. I had hoped that Harper would curtail some of the 3rd world refugees coming into the late, great Canada, but I see he is just a recycled liberal.

Canada should adopt the immigration policies Australia has, which are largely more merit-based. Half of these Islamic yahoos would be nowhere near Canadian air space.

If you think Canuckistan is letting in more Hizbullies than Oz please substantiate that; I think you will find the opposite.
