CAIR Seething Over References to 'Islamic Terrorism' at GOP Convention

Thu, Sep 4, 2008 at 9:22:32 am PDT

The Saudi-funded, Hamas-linked Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) is seething over the references to “Islamic terrorism” in last night’s speeches: U.S. Muslims Urge McCain, Palin to Offer ‘Inclusive’ Speeches.

In a statement, CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad said:

“We urge Senator McCain and Governor Palin to offer inclusive speeches at this week’s Republican convention and ask that they both avoid divisive Islamophobic rhetoric. It is all too easy to use hot-button terms to garner votes, but true leaders do not exploit fear or stereotypes for political gain. We hope to hear Senator McCain and Governor Palin say they will defend the civil and religious rights of all Americans, work with the American Muslim community in making our nation both free and secure and help build better relations with the Islamic world.”

He suggested that McCain and Palin reflect the Republican Party Platform, which states: “The struggle in which we are engaged is ideological, not ethnic or religious. The extremists we face are abusers of faith, not its champions. We appreciate the loyalty of all Americans whose family roots lie in the Middle East, and we gratefully acknowledge the contributions of American Arabs and Muslims, especially those in the Armed Forces and the intelligence community.”

Awad added that Muslims have called on candidates of all political parties to reject Islamophobia and believe using phrases such as “Islamic terrorism” may unintentionally provide religious legitimacy to terrorists.

Coming from the leader of a group that is listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation Hamas funding trial, a group that intentionally and relentlessly makes excuses for Islamic terrorists, this is shameless. But it’s what CAIR does.

Interestingly, this paid press release doesn’t come through CAIR’s usual outlet, PRNewsWire, but through Market Wire. That’s why it shows up in Yahoo’s “Finance” section. Did PRNewsWire finally pull the plug on CAIR’s deceptive propaganda?

And CAIR goes out of its way to cover for them.

Daily KOS
Let's Be Completely Honest ... Lie
by sn00t
Wed Aug 20, 2008 at 10:26:32 AM PDT

It occurs to me as I watch the nonstop cable coverage that as smart as we all are, we are still so dumb. Why do we do this to ourselves, election after election?

The tactics of Rove, as deplorable as they are, work because they have no morality to them. How do you fight lies? We try with truth, but a lie accepted as truth cannot be battled with a "different" truth in the mind of many. This is especially true when you consider, alas, the mass public is not reading KOS, Politico, The Page, and Huff Po.

What we are all missing is the truth about elections. The truth is that you lie. You lie and keep lying and when you get accused of lying you lie even more. Look at McCain's campaign for evidence of this. In the same paragraph of a press release it will both question Obama's patriotism, and then deny questioning his patriotism. It will say how good the economy is and then how terrible it is. It will deny the truth of huge budget deficits and then go on to call for more tax cuts.

You see, we progressives believe that information, and more accurately, factual evidence, will set you free. We are devotees of finding and consuming ideas, perspectives, and information in all formats. And in that, we sow our own fate. The problem is that we believe that if we can only talk to someone, and present the "facts", or provide "evidence" to the contrary, we can sway people to our line of thinking.

The problem is obvious: people who don't already think like you most likely don't consume and derive perspective in the manner you do, yielding all of our work, all of our effort, and all of our faith in the facts - worthless. If you want to convert someone to your position, lie to them. If you want to support Obama, lie about John McCain. hell, tell the truth about John McCain - but ad don any other thing you can think of that is outrageous.

If you are talking about the election to an NRA member, tell them John McCain hates guns. If you are talking to a religious figure, tell them that John McCain is an atheist (this pains me to say as an atheist, as it infers something wrong with atheism, but we all must sacrifice here!). Lie. Lie with abandon. Lie without regret.

The republicans understand that facts are meaningless. Why do we fall prey to this year after year? How could we lose 2000, and 2004? The facts were on OUR SIDE, and yet, we lose. If you want to help Obama, stop spending all your time reading sites with your own point of view. Post in the comment sections at ABCNEWS, at CNN, at MSNBC, at Fox .... anywhere where there are people no of your own idealogical persuasion - FLOOD THEM WITH LIES.

I hate to say it, but like a TV commercial jingle, that gets caught in your head for a day, the republicans are landing their lies in the ears of the public every second. And you can't fight it with truth - you can only hope to beat them to the punch with a lie. A scandalous or hard hitting comment or statement that causes that person to say - "oh wow - really?"

This election is of paramount importance, with McCain trying to reignite the cold war, an Iranian War, and more love to corporations like Exxon ... morality is not a luxury we have available to us.

So let's be completely honest.... LIE.

Background: the writer of the Cranmer blog acts as if he were the reconstituted Archbishop Cranmer, martyred in 1556. He writes in a thoughtful way about religion and modern life, primarily in Britain.

To quote one section:

"Why IN THE NAME OF CHRIST are Christians apologising [to Muslims] for praying in a church? And why are they so ashamed of the gospel that they prostrate themselves before those who have complained and express regret for seeking their salvation?"

Worth a read, as is most of his stuff.

Note to CAIR - if the bomb belt fits...
If you don't want the rest of us associating Islam and terrorism, then it is up to the Moslems to disassociate themselves from the terrorists who call themselves Muslim. I can't decide who is really Muslim or not.
But all I get is taquiya; they denounce "terrorism" and then say that terror attacks against Israel and anyone who supports Israel aren't terrorism.
You can't have it both ways.
CAIR and its ilk are making me MORE anti-Muslim by supporting terrorism against Israel and Jews (or giving Jews dhimmi status, if that)
You want to be accepted? Accept everyone else for what they are.

OT: How Corrupt is the Digg Home Page?

Not to cast aspersions, but, well maybe to insinuate:

Digg Throat has been charging up to $700 per article for his/her promotion, and if a particular item reaches Digg's home page, he/she gets another $500. Now that's some easy money. Too bad it's frowned upon by Digg, and Digg users alike. However, paid promotion is just a fact of Digg. It's not a surprise, and users who have a real problem with it, will likely just find another site to read. Besides, is this really that much different than paying PR staff to push your message?

Can't this work the other way?

Off Topic, but I had to share:

This is from an AP story:

ST. PAUL, Minn. - As John McCain accepts his party's presidential nomination Thursday night, protesters calling for an end to the Iraq war plan to march outside the Xcel Energy Center.

The Anti-War Committee, which is organizing Thursday's march, urged others to join in and denounced the increased presence of police in riot gear and acts of "intimidation" in the streets of St. Paul.

Tracy Molm, a member of Students for a Democratic Society at the University of Minnesota, urged students to get involved.

"Students in this country are angry. We're angry because it's us that are asked to fight and die in this immoral and unjust war," Molm said Wednesday. "Bring that anger to the streets, because that is how social change in this country happens."

Earth to Ms. Molm: No one is asking you to do a damn thing. Our military is a volunteer force. You can go back to your candy-assed campus, and put your politics of hate and your attempt to steal money from my family to give it to someone else and sit on it.

And, Ms. Molm, when you are done, thank a veteran for the right to be a misinformed jack-ass without fear.

157 lawhawk  Thu, Sep 4, 2008 9:57:52am

OT: Politico reports that Palin's teleprompter didn't break.

That is what Erick Erickson, citing sources close to McCain, has written on his blog, RedState.

Erickson writes that "the teleprompter continued scrolling during applause breaks. As a result, half way through the speech, the speech had scrolled significantly from where Governor Palin was in the speech."

This claim has been picked up on Drudge and could quickly enter into the insta-mythmaking about a speech that need not be embroidered.

Perhaps there were moments where it scrolled slightly past her exact point in the speech. But I was sitting in the press section next to the stage, within easy eyeshot of the teleprompter. I frequently looked up at the machine, and there was no serious malfunction. A top convention-planner confirms this morning that there were no major problems.

From the article you quote:

No, that is not how social change in this country happens. Social change in this country happens through a combination of the electoral process and the acts of individuals as they interact with other individuals, every day.

Social change in this country did happen once--during the Civil Rights Movement--by means of demonstrations, but only because those demonstrating had been disenfranchised by the law. The laws were then changed--and the Civil Rights Movement, hijacked by those who believed in "anger in the streets," continued on autopilot into a socially destructive morass.

Exactly! I was convinced that terrorists were defaming Islam with their actions until I read the Quran for myself. I knew nothing about Islam, and thought it was peaceful faith; superior to Christianity because it was foriegn and exotic, thus innately "better" than anything the corrupt West could produce.

Then I read the Quran and some Hadiths... The "terrorists" aren't "terrorists"...they're simply very observant Muslims engaging in Jihad as the Prophet commanded. Not the greater Jihad that Muslims can engage in after surviving the battlefield of the lesser Jihad; but the real lesser Jihad that seeks to purge the world of un-Islamic ignorance.

Not human, very human. Real middle America. More voters can identify with Sarah Palin and her story than Obama or Biden. That's not a small thing.

There is a section of press rows up and to the right of the Governor at the podium (you can see it on the pan shots of the Xcel Energy Center) that look like there is no one there. There are people there, but it is a press section. Might, just might be possible for press people to see the teleprompter screens.

Fairly, though, I don't know if this story tells us precisely where he was sitting in relation to the podium.

Our small business went through a "vote" in which the union told our employees that they knew how each one voted. It turned out that the NLRB used a box to hold the paper votes that was slightly larger than the folded votes. The NLRB guy carefully tipped over the box and took the ballots out to count. They had a list of the order of the voters and matched that against the counted votes. We were devastated that the union did indeed know how each had voted, but the union was 'in bed' with the NLRB in our case. Beware.

Actually GG, a mountain is being made out of a molehill here, because teleprompters are no sudden new phenomenon. Sarah Palin played the game by all of the current rules of public speaking, teleprompter included, and knocked a home run out of the park with the bases loaded. The gist of the speech was part of her basic makeup, so it doesn't even matter who put the words together. It was HER all the way.

One gets the impression that if her microphone had somehow failed, Todd would have pulled a wireless mike out of his pocket, tossed it to Sarah, and she would have said "Thanks, Honey" and kept right on going, without missing a beat.

Wow. Alaskan critics can finally be happy that they're getting their wish and getting rid of Sarah Palin -- she's moving to the Lower 48!

CAIR Involved in Criminal Fraud

A press release from Mapping Sharia:

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a tax exempt, so-called "public interest law firm", which promotes itself as the "largest Muslim-American civil rights organization", stands accused by Muslims themselves of having been involved in criminal fraud. Federal prosecutors have long-identified CAIR as a co-conspirator in the financing of international Jihad-terrorism. That seems to be just the beginning.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CAIR Threatens Muslims With $25,000 Penalty If They Reveal CAIR Cover-up of Morris Days’ Criminal Fraud

September 3, 2008 – Washington, DC: The Mapping Sharia Project, a research project sponsored by the Society of Americans for National Existence (SANE), is issuing an alert that the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), a self-described public interest civil rights law firm, may have engaged in criminal fraud. Mapping Sharia calls for a full investigation by the appropriate government agencies. The victims of this fraud may also be due compensation for their losses and suffering.

Reliable sources have produced solid information that Morris Days, the Manager for Civil Rights at the CAIR MD/VA chapter, who was widely publicized by CAIR as one of its civil rights attorneys, was in fact not an attorney, and failed to provide services for Muslim American clients who came to CAIR for assistance and who paid for Days’ services. Not only has CAIR not revealed the facts about Days and his fraudulent, criminal behavior, but as of yesterday, September 2, 2008, the CAIR National office in Washington, D.C. continued to post articles at its website naming Days as an attorney. This amounts to a de facto cover-up of CAIR’s involvement in this criminal affair and a perpetuation of the fraud with CAIR’s assistance.

LOL!
No excuse, drop and give me 50!

3% error in our product lines would get us fired......

A 3% error on the stuff I used to work on in the Military would've gotten a nuclear yield. And the attention of everybody in the world.

Talk about having a bad day...

I fixed it.

In a statement, CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad said:

“We urge Imadinnerjacket and Oslobabin Lady to offer inclusive speeches at this week’s Terriost convention and ask that they both use divisive religious rhetoric. It is all too easy to use hot-button terms to garner bombers, but true islamic leaders do exploit fear or stereotypes for islamophobic gain. We hope to hear Imadinnerjacket and Oslobabin Lady say they will attack the civil and religious rights of anyone, working with the nonislamic community in making our islamic nation both free and secure and help build better Islamic world.”

CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad suggested that Imadinnerjacket and Oslobabin Lady reflect the Terroist Party Platform, which states: “The struggle in which we are engaged is ideological and ethnic and religious. The real people we face are not abusers of faith, but its champions. We despise the loyalty of all Americans whose family roots lie in anything nonmuslim, and we gratefully acknowledge the contributions of Obama, especially those in the terriost cells and the non-intelligence, nutjob islamic terriost community.”

Awad added that Muslims Terrorist have called on candidates of all Islamic political parties to accept Islamophobia and believe using phrases such as “Islamic terrorism” will intentionally provide Islamic religious legitimacy to terrorists.

CAIR's just doing their part for the Muslim terrorist community.

261 David IV of Georgia  Thu, Sep 4, 2008 2:20:55pm

If they insult terrorists and CAIR feels insulted, then...

We only fight the political Islam that wishes to dominate the world. You know, the kind of Islam that Mohamed taught.

If CAIR is against it, I'm for it!

263 Code Red 21  Thu, Sep 4, 2008 2:45:39pm

I had a feeling when I heard Rudy say Islamic terrorism the proverbial shit would hit the fan. These people are just too predictable.

264 cpuller  Thu, Sep 4, 2008 2:58:15pm

Again and it seems like it has been 100 times, if you don't sponsor or support terrorism, then this wouldn't bother you. So stop doing it.

CAIR seetiing!? I'm shocked.

Hello, GG!

Was it you that recommended an alternative to AVG anti-virus on a thread a couple of days ago?

Allow me to recommend Sunbelt Software's VIPRE product. It's a killer antivirus/antispyware combination, with excellent reviews. I've been using it on 3 computers since last year, and it's just great.

Let the anti-jihad ,anti-islamic-terrorist , anti-islamic radical rhetoric roll.
It's the truth !
If Cair and their ilk dont like it ....FUCK'EM .

"Awad added that Muslims have called on candidates of all political parties to reject Islamophobia and believe using phrases such as “Islamic terrorism” may unintentionally provide religious legitimacy to terrorists."

As if using that phrase is the cause of terrorism and not the effect of it! Boy they sure do try ridiculously hard to make themselves look pious, and righteous and all that.

270 uptight  Thu, Sep 4, 2008 7:23:49pm

I'm sorry Lizards, but is is RACIST to call it Islamic terrorism.

It is merely terrorism *carried out* by adherents of Islam, who have been told by Islamic scholars that the prophet of Islam wants them to use terrorism as part of their Islamic practice of physical Jihad in order to establish an Islamic empire, under the rule of an Islamic caliph, where all citizens of Earth are subjects of Islamic law and serve Islam.

The link between this sort of terrorism and Islam is therefore merely incidental and it was Islamophobic of him to comment on it.

p.s. thank heavens for small mercies: my Windows dictionary still thinks Islamophobic is a false word

271 sirsurfalot  Thu, Sep 4, 2008 8:33:09pm

How many times has c.a.i.r. denounced Dar el Harb (house of war)?
Till then, they can kiss my American ass. By the way, I find their term "infidel" offensive, maybe they should find something not so offensive, sorta like Mr. American Sir. WE are the better society. Period. That means YOU have to conform to us, as we are not going to put up with your death cult. Put that in your hookah pipe and smoke it.

272 Flavia  Thu, Sep 4, 2008 8:41:52pm

Amazing how stupid bigots are. They very fact that they are insulted by any reference to Islamic terrorism can only prove that they do NOT distance themselves from it. If they seriously think it could mean anything else, they are even dumber than I thought - & that's saying something.

"Awad added that Muslims ... believe using phrases such as 'Islamic terrorism' may unintentionally provide religious legitimacy to terrorists."
================================================

See how he's using the idiotic dictates of our intelligence services against us?
As others have remarked, the ISLAMIC TERRORISTS (*) don't care how we infidels use their religious terminology; they brag about their murderous exploits --killing Infidels and "striking terror" in our hearts-- knowing that all the religious legitimacy they need is right there in their Holy Book. They are following the explicit, eternal directives of their perfect Prophet. If we deny that, the Religion of Blowing Stuff Up could construe it as yet another Western "grievous insult to Islam", giving the holy bloodlusters yet another excuse to murder, plunder and destroy in the name of Allah.

(*) this term is not hate speech, not "undue fear of Islam". It's clear English: they ARE Islamic, they ARE terrorists; their violence is mandated by their holy scriptures -- in essence,"extirpate every non-Islamic concept, artifact, or entity, anywhere you may find them, for the glory of Allah."

...reject Islamophobia

No way, Jose. There is much to fear.
