The Angry Left!

Volcanic!
Hilarious, and I'm only 2 minutes through the video!

4 Dianna  Thu, Sep 4, 2008 10:03:13am

I'll watch this after I finish listening to Rush.

What a great day this is! Sarah Palin gave a wonderful speech, Kwame Fitzpatrick is off to jail, with a felony conviction, and the left is going mad.

Now all I need is for my fever to break and my throat to un-stick so I can talk!

I love Gibson's radio show...that was Angry Rich doing the ranting. Gibson does this often...it's hilarious.

Gibson on the radio is much better than his ex-TV show...he can be himself and cut lose with the humor...I think all the whack jobs line up to talk to him.

JCM... how about the so-called Boeing strike?

The rank and file was pissed about the 48 delay.
I don't see how a strike helps any body. The workers lose time and pay. Boeing pushes out orders and will get cancellations, and lose orders if it goes very long.

The company offer sound pretty good to me.

30,000 ft. view, unions need to come up with something new to stay relevant.

In today's St. Pete Times (Tampa), an article that appears to be textbook Taqiyya discusses the University of South Florida's new "Serenity Room" at the student center. It turns out that the "Serenity Room" is really meant for all students, but it just happens to be pale green, in the shape of a "half moon" and is situated next to a special "shower room" that will assist Muslim students in performing wudu. The article must be read to be believed in its efforts to portray the room as something other than a muslim prayer room. Here is the link.

I ask because I happened on a group of the LaRouchies yesterday in downtown DC. Their big thing was the "national maglev train", which, from the look of their cheerful, hand-drawn posters, looked more like a GLOBAL maglev train... it was shown traversing all of North America, down through Mexico, Central and South America... AND, at the other end, leaping over the Bering Straits and going through Russia into Europe! I love it. It should only cost about eleventy-three quadrillion dollars, but they'll get that money by abolishing the military, or something like that.

Here is the quote of the day that Democrats are passing around like a new affirmation on the road to self discovery:

No great movement designed to change the world can bear to be laughed at or belittled. Mockery is a rust that corrodes all it touches.

--Milan Kundera

What a bunch of smug bullshit. Sarcasm people consider reality versus hyperbole. It is our best weapon.

That quote sends chills up my spine.

106 FrogMarch  Thu, Sep 4, 2008 10:31:17am

Ok - got it to work - hilarious. and scary.

reminds me of this comment taken fro this blog:

“When faced with monsters, we have to be monstrous ourselves.” Well, no, but even if it were so, think one step deeper: What happens when the monsters are merely in your mind? When they are ordinary politicians whose views you so strongly reject that you have to elevate them into monsters to explain to yourself why they could hold such mistaken views?

I noticed that the "author" of that screed was also talking about a Sandra Palin. I don't recall Sandra Palin being on the ticket.

The LA Times ran an opinion P(iece)OS from Gloria Steinem which is still linked on the front page of Drudge. I posted a comment first thing this morning....and waited for it and the other comments to appear...still waiting...still waiting. Now, the commenting and discussion options have disappeared. Funny how that works, huh? Typical LA Times.

That quote actually scares me. To me it means that no dissent can be tolerated.

And here's another point: if mere mockery can weaken the idea, was it such a good idea in the first place?

Does anyone know in what context Kundera made that statement? He has written stirringly about the soul-deadening aspects of communism; I find it hard to believe this quote was intended to cheerlead for it.

Biden doesn't have 35 years of experience.
He has 1 year of experience 35 times.

He's plagiarized the experience of 35 other people's years.

re: #28 Occasional Reader

Somewhat OT: Joe Biden has lots and lots and lots of "foreign policy experience"... being WRONG on the most fundamental foreign policy questions of our times.

Notice how at the top is says "opinion"

but if you read the dominate left-wing media - their opinion isn't opinion- it's "news".

Democrats in the media are unprofessional hacks.

115 Just_A_Grunt  Thu, Sep 4, 2008 10:36:06am

Nice try but you can't make me watch it. Show it to the prisoners in Gitmo. Oh wait that might be illegal. I subjected myself to watching PMSNBC yesterday just to see how they would characterize Sarah's speech before she made it and watched it afterwards. That is enough for another year or so.

re: #103 Ojoe

The quote is from Kundera's The Joke, which was an anti-communism novel. I think he is praising the power of mockery to destroy self-styled "great movements", not the opposite.

Just shows how deluded the moonbats are. Milan Kundera was a Czech writer who opposed communism and what he is talking about in that quote is that the communists could not bear to be mocked which is why they suppressed writers of satire.

They are the same people who would read Swift's "A Modest Proposal" and think it was a good idea, or that Machiavelli's "The Prince" was a primer on how to really rule. These people know enough to be really dangerous. They are also prima facie evidence as to why the Founding Fathers were against universal suffrage--some people are too stupid to be trusted with the vote.

Right. He has merely been in Washington 35 years with his head in his ass dark spot. You can't experience things you can't see, hear or smell.

Gotta love it. They've gotten so obvious it's nice to see people are picking up on it.

What is alarming is the 49% that can't see it.

You do that, Lefty! Buy more "bullets". I assume you have a musket, right?

Exactly. Everybody knows the tough thing to find right now are Primers.

#55 Son of the Black Dog 9/04/08 10:17:16 am reply quote 1

If the current administration was as evil as the left makes it out to be, these people would be disappearing in the middle of the night, for a little "re-education". They have no clue how tolerant out government is.

Everytime I countered that particular argument saying they have no idea what they were talking about, being one who lived through under government total controlled media.

That usually shut them up. After a few minutes of silence, the more dense ones come back with another LLL talking points.

I think I sustained internal injuries restraining the laughter that this brought on. If I hadn't, I could have gotten fired or worse - sent to one of those 3-hour-long HR sessions where we learn to be "sensitive" to the feelings of our coworkers.

That said - Best laugh i've had in ages. Many props to John Gibson.
