Associated Press: Palin's 'Bloody, Dead Caribou'

Sat, Sep 6, 2008 at 9:38:25 am PDT

The mainstream media. What’s left to say? This may be the election in which they have finally finished the job of utterly discrediting themselves as left-wing hacks, for all to see.

They’re not even trying to hide the bias. They seem proud of it. Palin: More and less than she seems.

WASILLA, Alaska - The mother kneels in the snow, cheerfully posing beside her bundled up daughter, behind the bloody, dead caribou the mom just shot.

She's smart, competent and likeable and the AP realizes how she has ignited this country. And they just can't stand it.

Palin is the ultimate woman mentioned by Solomon in the Bible. I'll have to find the passage. If anyone else knows what I'm referring to, please post it.

9 lawhawk  Sat, Sep 6, 2008 9:42:29am

The media's firing blanks. Hoping to stir up trouble.

The next avenue of attack is that she's not appearing on the Sunday talk show circuit. As if she owes anything to the media after the incessant sniping on her family by a media that can't find a smear or lie bad enough to print.

Still, at some point she's going to have to go on those shows to hand someone their scalp. And hang the head of Matthews or some other wayward journalist next to the head of that dead caribou.

I saw Palin referred to as "Caribou Barbie" somewhere. I'd like to see such an action figure hit the stores before Christmas. With her snowmobile, 30.06 scoped rifle, fishing gear bowie knife and other accessories she would be a great and instructive toy for my 4 year old niece.

See if AP reports this today:

[Link: blogs.denverpost.com...]

This morning, Republicans tell me that a worker at Invesco Field in Denver saved thousands of unused flags from the Democratic National Convention that were headed for the garbage. Guerrilla campaigning. They will use these flags at their own event today in Colorado Springs with John McCain and Sarah Palin.

Before McCain speaks today, veterans will haul these garbage bags filled with flags out onto the stage — with dramatic effect, no doubt — and tell the story.

“What you see in the picture I sent you is less than half of total flags,” a Republican official emailed. “We estimate the total number to be around 12,000 small flags and one full size 3×5 flag.”

I’m not sure what the DNC was supposed to do with unused hand-flags, frankly. But the Republicans are obviously questioning someone’s patriotism here.

Proverbs Chapter 31

Wife of Noble Character

An (M)excellent wife, who can find?
For her worth is far (N)above jewels.
11The heart of her husband trusts in her,
And he will have no lack of gain.
12She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.
13She looks for wool and flax
And works with her hands in delight.
14She is like (O)merchant ships;
She brings her food from afar.
15She (P)rises also while it is still night
And (Q)gives food to her household
And portions to her maidens.
16She considers a field and buys it;
From her earnings she plants a vineyard.

17She (R)girds herself with strength
And makes her arms strong.

18She senses that her gain is good;
Her lamp does not go out at night.

19She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hands grasp the spindle.
20She (S)extends her hand to the poor,
And she stretches out her hands to the needy.
21She is not afraid of the snow for her household, For all her household are (T)clothed with scarlet.
22She makes (U)coverings for herself;
Her clothing is (V)fine linen and (W)purple.
23Her husband is known (X)in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
24She makes (Y)linen garments and sells them,
And supplies belts to the tradesmen.
25Strength and (Z)dignity are her clothing,
And she smiles at the future.

26She (AA)opens her mouth in wisdom,
And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. 27She looks well to the ways of her household,
And does not eat the (AB)bread of idleness.
28Her children rise up and bless her;
Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:
29"Many daughters have done nobly,
But you excel them all."
30Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain,
But a woman who (AC)fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
31Give her the product of her hands,
And let her works praise her in the gates.

You think the AP, article is bad, check out the caption for photo #15 in the "slideshow" that accompanies it, provided by AFP:

Republican presidential candidate John McCain and running mate Sarah Palin during a campaign rally in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The US presidential race was shaping up as a battle over whether a strong character trumps solid policies as McCain attacked his Democratic rival as too weak and Barack Obama worked to refocus voters on the issues. (AFP/Robyn Beck)

They overtly state as fact that Obama has better policies than McCain.

Sarah Palin reminds me of the Roger Miller song, "Squares Make the World Go Round." She's the feminist ideal, independent, strong, confident; but she has one fatal flaw: she a square. They can't stand that.

Take a little bitty town
Elect a mayor of that little bitty town

A square little man to make it go round

Squares make the world go round

Pick out a state
Elect a governor of the state

A square little man to make it go round

Squares make the world go round

Hey! squares make the world go round

Sounds profane, sounds profound

But government things can’t be made through

Hipsters wearing rope soled shoes

Take the whole world

What does it take to make the whole world whirl

What does it take to make the whole world whirl

Makes Barack look wimpy? That's not nearly as difficult as Joe Biden's task of making him NOT look wimpy! (Good luck w/ that, Joe.)

As I posted yesterday, "She was born to hunt caribou and kick butt...and she's all out of caribou."

The Left and their associated Media arm have conceded the political argument--personal attacks are the evidence--and their butts are exposed for the kicking.

He intends to let the Bush Tax Cuts (which gave EVERY American who earned money and paid taxes some tax relief) expire, so he is gonna RAISE EVERYONE'S TAXES.
What's worse, is he's gonna increase taxes on businesses which means even fewer jobs, he's gonna increase the "Death Tax" and he's gonna screw around with health care - including Medicare - which now costs me about the same as COBRA private health insurance.

The article discusses the "notorious "Bridge to Nowhere," a $389 million bridge to an island with 50 residents" and cleverly forgets to mention that the intended purpose was to link Ketchikan with its airport.
Compare: Federal tax money was NOT spent on the bridge to the airport near Ketchikan. By contrast, $14.6 BILLION actually was spent on (Democratic) Boston's "Big Dig."

Wow.

According to Lucille, the waitress serving her table at the time and who asked that her last name not be used, Gov. Palin was eating lunch with five or six people when the subject of the Democrat’s primary battle came up. The governor, seemingly not caring that people at nearby tables would likely hear her, uttered the slur and then laughed loudly as her meal mates joined in appreciatively.

I have a friend who's a 'hawkish' democrat, and I noticed that he's been turning more and more into a mega bushophobe, more illogical leftist, and especially lately saying things like "I fucking hate John McCain and Sarah Palin".

He "explained" to me that he hated (yes, hate) them because McCain had chosen this "inexperienced" no-one. I asked him why he hates Palin - and he basically laid out the media's bias. Still.

Me: "Still, where's all the hate coming from? Where did you get all this BS?"
Friend: "The Huffington post, you know it?"
Me: "What? That's a pure hate site, the admins there shutdown comments from fear of exposing the tides of criminal reactions"
Friend: "yeah... I know"
Me: "And that's just comments, generally it's just filled with bias -- don't visit there unless you want to become evil"
Friend: "Evil? I don't know man, this whole administration should be put on trial for war crimes".

Proverbs Chapter 31

Wife of Noble Character

An excellent wife, who can find?
For her worth is far above jewels.
The heart of her husband trusts in her,
And he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.
She looks for wool and flax
And works with her hands in delight.
She is like merchant ships;
She brings her food from afar.
She rises also while it is still night
And gives food to her household
And portions to her maidens.
She considers a field and buys it;
From her earnings she plants a vineyard
She girds herself with strength
And makes her arms strong.
She senses that her gain is good;
Her lamp does not go out at night.
She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hands grasp the spindle.
She extends her hand to the poor,
And she stretches out her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of the snow for her household,
For all her household are clothed with scarlet.
She makes coverings for herself;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them,
And supplies belts to the tradesmen.
Strength and dignity are her clothing,
And she smiles at the future.
She opens her mouth in wisdom,
And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
She looks well to the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and bless her;
Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:
"Many daughters have done nobly,
But you excel them all."
Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain,
But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
Give her the product of her hands,
And let her works praise her in the gates.

If someone can't be bothered to read past the first sentence of a story, then they are as uninformed as they deserve to be. And frankly, when you only quote the first line, quite deliberately and atypically, then it seems the uninformedness, so to speak, is no accident.

No, you see, it wasn't "pornography," they were "educational films" made in Sweden. The first one showed "seniors" having sex, so we could understand that even old people humped, and the next one was (I kid you not) disabled people having sex. Even in Alaska, they have "Government Is God" moonbats:

John Stein, her opponent, said Palin had brought into the campaign his "alleged stance on gun control and abortion, even why his wife had a different last name than him," the paper reported.

And the final, echo paragraph:

"People are mind boggled to think that a local girl could be the president of the United States if the Republican ticket is successful and something could happen to this 72-year-old candidate who has had four bouts of melanoma."

Ah, the final paragraph, always gets to the author's agenda doesn't it? Hick Girlie Girl and Cancer Geezer memes.

As governor, Palin called for environmental protection in Alaska, but she's opposed the U.S. government's listing of a variety of animals as endangered, including the polar bear and the beluga whale, both of which inhabit areas also rich in oil and natural gas.

Skipping over the whole polar bear fiasco (there's ten times the number of them now compared to 20 years ago when no one wanted to consider them endangered [get within half a mile of one and tell me who feels endangered] and it was the lefttard environmentalists who want them considered endangered to further their agenda on the pseudoscience of global warming), is there really a problem with the population of beluga whales?  Anyone?

One of the comments on the story said, "It’s a far cry from when RFK rushed forth to prevent a flag from touching the ground."

I'm old enough to remember RFK doing that, and I would love for someone to find a photo of that RFK moment and put it side-by-side with the photo of trashed flags.

So the writer led with the most unusual detail. Surprise.

If someone can't be bothered to read past the first sentence of a story, then they are as uninformed as they deserve to be. And frankly, when you only quote the first line, quite deliberately and atypically, then it seems the uninformedness, so to speak, is no accident.

Have you been paying attention to the coverage of the Israeli-arab "conflict"?
It's titles and paragraphs like that that turn the tide against Israel and essentially the U.S.

It doesn't matter that Islamists fired first in an attempt to randomly murder, it's always captured in the media as a tireless exchange of fire between an "occupier" and "guerilla" groups with bold distortions and biases against Israel as a provoker.

liberals are the ultimate hypocrites.

I would lay odds the writer of this eats meat.

back in the day when I was in college I had an art teacher who told the class we could miss three days without hurting our grade, well... that was great I told him because opening day of deer season was the following monday so I wouldndt be there.

he flipped out accused me of all kinds of things and phsycological problems then rounded it off with asking why I dont just go buy my meat, does it make me feel like more of a man to kill it.

I told him that I wasnt a hypocrite like himself, who wanted to buy his meat non discript sitting on a hygenic tampon in a styrofoam tray so he could pretend it didnt come from a previously living breathing thing.

I knew where my meals came from and understood and apreciated the realities of life and didnt hide from them.

which about sums up liberalism they are hypocrites who hide from the realities of life and get angry with good people who are willing to face them head on.

Never had caribou. Wondering if it tastes like Bison, which is yummy.

I don't see any evidence that the individuals shown in this picture are actually even Governor Palin and one of her daughters. For starters, the woman in the picture is shown in profile, mostly covered by hair - but she has bangs. Palin does not have bangs. Second, the child in the picture is clearly blonde. None of Palin's daughters are blonde. Note also that the child's face is completely covered except for the eyes.

So other than the AP's word for it, what evidence is there that this is Palin?

Well, one could be racist towards one group and not another. See, forex, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Nor is that scintilla of blood nearly so important as the culture one comes from and one's appearance. (Todd Palin doesn't look terribly eskimo.) My point, though, was that racism is usually not a black-white things in Alaska, though I've sometimes had the impression that Eskimo / Indian / White relations were occasionally strained. Among several negative comments were:

What kind of sport is killing a Moose? They are really quite docile.

I was archery hunting with a buddy a few years back.
We were walking back to camp, and a big bull moose stepped out in front of us and "just shook his head".
I looked at my bow, my buddy looked at his bow ... we both looked at that thousand-pound plus magnificent beast ... we turned around and took another route back.

The moose was saying "Not In My Back Yard" ... docile, indeed.

Obama is trying to assure us he won't take our guns, but what he didn't say is he will find other ways to discourage us from owning them. Exorbitant taxes on guns and ammunition, laws dealing with keeping them under lock and key in an inoperable state, licensing with exorbitant fees to get a license. He is against concealed carry, so he is probably against your ever leaving the house with a gun of any kind. I don't believe any of his crap for a moment, he is trolling for votes in PA and OH, and will say anything. -- 20% maintain meat is grown in macrobiotic tanks in Area 51 using Alien Tech
-- 12% condemn meat as a patriarchal social construct of oppression and therefore doesn’t represent the truth
-- 6% said Palin started the Franco-Prussian in a prior life because of meat

A visitor to her office can see Palin, a 44-year-old mother of five, as she coos to baby Trig and changes his diapers. A lush bear pelt shot by her father is draped over the couch and a three-foot king crab shell is perched on a table. Daughters Piper, Willow and Bristol stroll in and out, and crayon drawings are tucked beneath her glass desktop.

She switches back and forth between mother and governor without a blink. But details of her life that have emerged under the glare of national attention show that she's a complicated politician. She's disarming and accessible for some, vindictive and hard toward others. She has many loyal friends, tremendous hometown support, and a few fierce enemies.

Sounds like the Governor is organized and fully capable of multi-tasking. You piss her off you're in for a fight, but she loved by many. Her enemies are probably living on borrowed time anyway.

I have several framed family photos at home and in my office of my son and daughter with their first trophy bucks. I can't wait to see the family picture of Piper when she bags her first caribou.

Being a cop, if I got caught drinking in my patrol car, what amounts to poaching, and shooting a taser at my step-son(as her ex-brother in law did) I'm pretty sure I would be fired so I don't see an ethics problem

Correction: Muslims, unlike Jews, can hunt and eat the meat, with certain stipulations:
[Link: www.al-shia.com...]

Note especially the following:

While using the weapon the hunter should recite the name of Allah, and it is sufficient if he utters the name of Allah before the target is hit. But if he does not recite Allah's name intentionally, the animal does not become halal. There is, however, no harm if he fails to do so because of forgetfulness.

There's the real smear. The caribou is a decoy.

I thought her first son was the 19 year old about to ship off to Iraq. Or does she only have FOUR kids now.

Surprised nobody caught this.

OT -

To Padre etc. I read your request on a previous thread for help locating a live stream for Rush. I've posted this link before and I thinks its worth posting again - you have every political talk show out there available at all hours of the day, if your show is being broadcast live anywhere in the US of A you can listen. I live on the east coast so if I miss a show like Hannitys which airs here at 3pm while I'm at work, all I have to do is go to this link and find where its airing on the west coast. Its very simple - on the link below just scroll down and keep an eye on the right side of your screen, you will see all the shows available, alphabetically by FIRST name first - just click on the name you want and the next page that comes up will have a listing all of the stations across the US of A that's airing the show. If you "hover" over the icon(s) it will also give you an idea of the quality of the sound. Sometimes one or two will be dead links or for a streaming player that you don't have etc., so just pick another - its quick, the sound quality is excellent in almost every case (you will get to know the best picks), very dependable. Avoid the ones that use the MS Media Player - you will know if the player pops up - just click out and choose another. If you go to the home page (just click on the name at the top of the page and you will be brought to a page listing every format you can think of ! I have no idea if this is the best 'cause I never had a reason to look further. I have my sound card plugged into my receiver which pumps the sound to every room in my house - no matter where I walk I don't miss a word ! I needed to record something Hannity said a few weeks back. I heard his comment on my car radio on the way home from work. Got home and had 45 minutes until the next hour so as to capture the re play (actually live but in a different time zone). Got the tape rolling and my machine jammed. No problem ! Had an hour to resolve the problem - an hour later I just picked another time zone ! The tape jammed ! Still had another hour so I drove over to the local drug store, grabbed another blank, got home, set it up again, waited 20 minutes and bam ! Got it !
Yeah, I wanted the quote that bad LOL ! Having said all that here is the link:

Enjoy !

The current cover of Newsweek displays yet another flattering photo of Obama (& Biden) I wonder how many times TIME and Newsweek have had Obama on the cover vs McCain? and of those times - we all know that the photo of Obama is flattering and the photo of McCain is harsh.

That is an interesting question, I suppose the answers can be found here and here.

333 Paul  Sat, Sep 6, 2008 1:09:58pm

Here in Wisconsin, deer, bear, goose and duck hunters flood the woods every Fall, while fishing is a year round sport. The sports section of local newspapers are full of pictures of people posing with dead animals.

So it's no big deal here when a woman shoots wild game, unless she's a Republican candidate for VP. That'll give all the LLLs the vapors.

No way! Infanticide is a form of birth control, applied somewhat like insect repellent. You spray it on a on a woman and it repels those pesky infants....

To put another rumor to rest:

Enquirer Rumor refuted............

The ex-wife of the man rumored to have had an affair with Republican vice presidential pick Sarah Palin tells Usmagazine.com the hearsay is "absolutely, completely false."

"I can tell you this with 1000 percent certainty, Sarah Palin never had an affair," said Debbie Richter when reached Friday afternoon.

When asked how she would describe Palin, Debbie responded by saying she is "driven, committed to public service, determined and not easily swayed from her goal.

Gee, Isak Dinesen (Out of Africa) aka Karen Blixen was a game hunter!

Seems there was no problem showing her kill game in the movie. And, she is often "hailed" by women as an early feminist!

In fact she thought it quite foolish to "hunt in order to just photograph them."

349 Nancy  Sat, Sep 6, 2008 3:44:56pm

Notice how they focus on the hunting.

She also fishes and I have seen a photo of her holding a really nice size fish.
And she loves sports --ran track and still runs.

Both of the latter she can do year around and they rarely mention those.

Hunting would be less frequent.

re: #244 galloping granny

I don't see any evidence that the individuals shown in this picture are actually even Governor Palin and one of her daughters. For starters, the woman in the picture is shown in profile, mostly covered by hair - but she has bangs. Palin does not have bangs. Second, the child in the picture is clearly blonde. None of Palin's daughters are blonde. Note also that the child's face is completely covered except for the eyes.

Well, Granny, I think it looks a lot like Palin in profile. As for the child being blonde, LOTS of children are blonde, but their hair darkens as they get older. I was one of those. And bangs can be grown out in a year or two. When was that picture allegedly taken?

354 Tigger2005  Sat, Sep 6, 2008 8:00:50pm

Uh, lefties? You ever eat steak? Chicken? Pork?

Guess what...at one time said steak, chicken, or pork was part of a bloody, dead animal. It just got killed at a slaughterhouse instead of in the wild.

Really. They don't grow strip steaks, chicken legs and pork chops in tanks.

355 exredtory  Sat, Sep 6, 2008 9:27:02pm

Her father handed the reporter probably dozens of photos, until he got to the caribou one, and the reporter went, Bingo, there's my lead paragraph. I'm quote sure they went to his house specifically praying they'd find a photo like this.

I don't know, maybe I'm just a bitter, clinging NRA supporter. But if that was the "thinking" for running that photo, I'd say it backfired badly.

re: #204 zombie

No, you see, it wasn't "pornography," they were "educational films" made in Sweden. [snip] We also saw a birth film that showed the most vivid 8-foot-tall close-up of a woman's nether regions in Cinemascope color for 10 minutes before the baby actually came out.

I think I saw that exact same film. It was from Sweden, I think, and not only had the baby but also the afterbirth.

I haven't posted in months, and I'm about to leave the house in less than 30 minutes, but have to comment. Many thanks to Palin for (among other things), showing the world that real women hunt.

I've only taken 3 deer, unlike my husband, who has lost count of the deer he has taken (sometimes 2 in one day). He still helps me field dress and drag the deer, so he brings the kids with him (no babysitter) when I call him for help. This gets children seriously interested in hunting (especially daughters).

If most of the pictures of the adults in your family feature them posing in camo and holding guns and dead animals, does that make you a redneck?

363 HBob  Sun, Sep 7, 2008 11:35:02am
