Every action of our lives touches on some chord that will vibrate in eternity.

Reminds me of another quote from a film on this subject:

Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?

Way to earn those wings, Clarence.

I hear Barbra Streisand is going to put on a fundraising concert for Obama. I compiled a list of appropriate song suggestions for her repertoire...

*The Party's Over
*Lipstick on your collar
*This Little Piggy
*Hit the Road, Barak
*Running on Empty (Suit)
*Lyin' Eyes
*Democrat is my Party and I'll Cry if I Want To
*He's So Vain
*Que Sera, Sarah
*Ticket To Ride (back to Chicago)
*What Kind of Fool am I (for choosing Biden)
*People are Strange (especially Obama supporters)
*He's a Candle in the Wind..(and here comes Hurricane Sarah)
*Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow (after I lose the election)
*It's Too Late Baby
*I Wanna Be Sedated (now that I lost the election)
*As Tears go By

Everything we do, all our decisions make a difference in who we are and how life turns out. We focus on the big things and try to control them when if we had simply paid more attention to the smaller every day things, life would be much smoother.
We miss those small details that could have made such a difference in the lives of others and ourselves. We tend to forget what an act of kindness could mean. We don't speak out when it's needed or more importantly, we don't hold our tongues when we should.
I fully believe we will be held accountable for all our actions and non-actions. Maybe that chord is going directly to God.

As Jesus says, "whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." (People overthink this and try to make it into a spiritual warfare thing, but it's really about what you treat as important.)

Or, as Knowdaverbs says it, "what you rock now, and how you rock now echoes in eternity."

I have never deviated from that. I discovered Charles and LGF a few months later. I said to myself, "this is a guy who gets it."

The moonbats gave up before the term was coined, before the rubble had stopped falling. It was their default position, the chance to bring back the glory days of the 60s. They own defeat and surrender in a profoundly personal sense. It isn't political to them, it is the very basis of their lifestyle and image and identity itself.

From the killing fields of Cambodia to the smoke of the World Trade Center, the pop-left subculture has blood on its hands. It will perish with the terrorists themselves.

Even on 9-11, many warned that it would be a very long war. It is not over yet and it won't be for many years, but I am in it for the long haul.

The definition of a long war to the left is one that lasts longer than an episode of MTV Cribs.

I don't think they realize that occasionally, to keep a civilization intact, some people have to die. Unfortunately, on both sides but more of those that wish to harm your nation/Western civilization.

Civilizations aren't murdered, they're killed by suicide... and the left has the gun in their mouth.

It's funny, ya know, that we're two Canucks on this board who are eager to see the Americans win this... but our own nation is so completely apathetic to our problems with HRCs, our necessary involvement in Afghanistan, etc.

I was already 51 on 9-11. I never dreamed that it would take me back to war at my age, but I decided then and there that I would go if I got the chance.
The chance came in 2005, as a contractor in Iraq, and I took it. I was a civilian this time, hired to survey pipelines, but I knew the situation and I wasn't kiddling myself. I had read CS Lewis during the year since my youthful excursion in Vietnam. I remembered something he wrote about his first experience of the trenches during World War I:
"This is war. This is what Homer wrote about."
And so it was.

That's just for a rifleman. If Harper gets the majority he truly deserves, it will be interesting to see how the next 4-5 years go here in Canada.

If I didn't have a blown ACL/LCL from Dunn's River Falls in Jamaica, I'd enlist especially if it meant the liberation of Afghanistan was where I'd be going. Harper, although maybe a little "cold" to most, is the leader the West needs to pair with McCain. Perhaps the stoutness of our continent can be rectified.

Welcome fellow matamoros. Today we remember what we lost and can never forget or forgive. The long war burns silently in the background and too many have forgotten the evil we fight. We are far from powerless even if we feel impotent. Our knowledge is power and yet we see now that we are living the the beginning of a new age of ignorance and darkness. This is not the silver future I wanted.

There will be a time when we will have to take the stage rather than being silent observers. We have learned much of the threat and have gained much knowledge. We understand the evil behind what happen on 9/11. We must not be afraid to use this knowledge. This is going to be a very long war and truth was the first victim. Nothing will be solved by just waiting for things to change. - Ozymandias

Which is why, taken in context of the whole election so far, it's quite obvious that Obama meant to slam Palin.

This has been quite the eye-opener for me. It appears that everyone's fear of appearing racist doesn't extend to avoiding looking like a misogynist. Even on FOX yesterday they kept asking MEN if they thought Obama intended to call Palin a pig.

/Hell-ll-ll-ooooooooo?

52 Sharmuta  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 1:40:35am
“Palin is a shallow, chirpy person with those vaguely alarming eyeglasses. Now her fans all want a pair. Remember back when women wore glasses that departed their ears in plastic swoops and swirls? My theory is, anyone who wears glasses that look weird is telling me something I don’t want to know.

I trust the American people will see through Palin’s facade, and save the Republic in November. The most damning indictment against her is that she considered herself a good choice to be a heartbeat away. That shows bad judgment.”

The operator tried to calm her down, but a few minutes later, Doi panicked: ‘I’m gong to die, aren’t I?’ she asked. ‘No no no,’ the operator replied. ‘I’m going to die,’ Doi repeated. ‘Say your prayers,’ the operator advised. ‘Oh God, it’s so hot. I’m burning up,’ Doi replied. Several minutes later, the line on her end went silent. And here’s the thing, really, in a way — one of the very few things we have to hold onto: the operator continued to speak to her for another 20 minutes, ’soothingly, according to the Los Angeles Times article, ‘repeating Doi’s name over and over, calling her ‘dear.’

We were not alone in Vietnam, either, lefty propaganda notwithstanding.

Take a moment:

Last missing soldier identified

ALMOST 39 years after he was killed in the Vietnam war, Private David Fisher - the last of Australia's missing soldiers - will return home.

The Federal Government says the remains of the Special Air Service Regiment trooper, recovered in southern Vietnam last month, have been officially identified.

Pte Fisher was the last of the missing army personnel to be found in Vietnam, following the recovery of the remains of three others last year.

There are still two members of the air force - Flying Officer Michael Herbert and Pilot Officer Robert Carver - who are unaccounted for.

Good Man.

Actually, it's dude-ette! ;) And yes, it was the orbital bone just under my left eye, and one of the eye muscles got trapped in the fracture - that's why I had to have surgery.

Unfortunately, for the most part, you are alone in this. The mere scattering of the soldiers from Europe is just conscience massaging by their leaders, IMHO. "Look, we sent some troops in! Buy our goods!"

Oh, yes - hydrocodone i.e. Vicodin. And they gave me a bigger dose than the ER gave me last week. Fortunately the surgery wasn't too bad - an oral surgeon did it in his office operating suite. Apparently different types of surgeons do this work in different parts of the country - here it's the oral and maxillofacial surgeons who do it. And they use some really strong happy juice so I really don't remember much - except spouting some really strange gibberish on the way home!

It is nothing. She was well within her right to fire the boss of a bad trooper who did nothing about abuse of power under his watch.

Also- could you imagine how it would be spun otherwise? That Governor Palin didn't care about abuses going on within the Trooper department? That would be worse frankly. Why a drunken child abuser got to keep his job is beyond me.

My two cents on the Sarah Palin 'troopergate' scandal: If its corruption to pressure a political appointee who serves at the pleasure of Governor to fire a state trooper who used a taser on a 10 year old boy, drank beer while driving a patrol car, and threatened to kill his father in law, then I think we need a lot more 'corruption'.

Many thanks again, Paul.

Remembering the date has got me stirred up.

Everyone who was alive in this country remembers what it was like.

I had worked late and was still at home with no tv or computer turned on. My daughter called from Chicago. She was working in the Sears tower at the time. She asked me if I had seen the news about a plane hitting the WTC in New York. I said, "Huh?" She explained and I turned on the TV just in time to see the second plane hit.
She saw it too on their office TV. I will never forget her next words. She said, calmly and with no hesitation at all, "Daddy, this is not an accident." I told her, no, it wasn't; and for her to get out of the building and out of the Loop as quickly as possible. Her boss came in about that time and announced an evacuation. It was a very bad moment, since nobody knew at that point whether there were two attackers or two hundred, and I thought every tall building in the country might be a target.

I was just looking up some of my past 9-11 comments and happened to run across this one from September 10, 2004, the day after the now-legendary throbbing memo had made its first appearance:

Lyndon Johnson, 1968: "If we've lost Cronkite, we've lost the war."

George W. Bush, 2004: "If we've lost Rather, who gives a shit?"

The establishment media have already lost this battle, just having their word challenged in public is a huge setback for them.

"On That Day" - Leonard Cohen

Some people say
It's what we deserve
For sins against g-d
For crimes in the world
I wouldn't know
I'm just holding the fort
Since that day
They wounded New York
Some people say
They hate us of old
Our women unveiled
Our slaves and our gold
I wouldn't know
I'm just holding the fort
But answer me this
I won't take you to court
Did you go crazy
Or did you report
On that day
On that day
They wounded New York

128 David IV of Georgia  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 2:55:51am
Hide from the public eye, choose to appear when it suits you
Claim you're just, killing women and children
Fight, when you choose to fight, hide in a cave when you're hunted
Like a beast spawned from hell, utilizing fear

Chosen by god or a coward insane?
Stand up and show me your face!

Suicidal, in a trance
A religious army
Fight without a uniform and hide in the crowd
Call it holy, call it just
Authorized by heaven
Leave your wounded as they die, and call it gods will

Run when its time to pay, fear consequence of your action
Reappear, when you're almost forgotten
Dream of a world in peace, yet you cause pain and destruction
Kill your own, a response of your actions

Captured in all you lies, fear is in your eyes
Creature who's gone insane, your war is in vain
Trapped in a cage of stone, we'll destroy your home
Consequence of your action

The seldom heard second and third verses of the Battle Hymn of the Republic:

I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps
His day is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnish`d rows of steel,
"As ye deal with my contemners, So with you my grace shall deal;"
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel
Since God is marching on.

I am in fact agnostic, but this glorious song perfectly summarizes the righteousness and justice of our cause, and the steadfastness that will bring final victory.

I am heartsick at the killing and the grief, but let it continue until the last terrorist is dragged from his hole and killed; and until the last traitor is sentenced, and the last enabler reduced to poverty and disgrace.

(He also cheated on his wife.... aka the source of the major portion of his income.... extensively. I would not be surprised if she had left him ... and left him in poverty... since then.) Vent over.

I lost a few friends because of 9/11.

Oh their still here but we don't talk anymore.

Every time the conversation turned to politics I became their surrogate GW Bush.

And I stood in for it for a while. But eventually it just got nasty.

I was a racist, loon, retard, dolt, sycophant, ass kisser, and several epithets that are a little personal to repeat.

I had warned them at the outset that the war on terror was not a war in the old sense -- it was going to be a long multi-pronged campaign. I also said we were going to see who are friends and enemies really were. Man did I sure did find that out on a personal level.

One day people will not remember this date.

It's the natural progression of things I suppose.

Here's hoping the reason we forget is because we vanquished evil and not because we sucumbed to it.

BTW. Best wishes for all of the Houston Area Lizards, their friends, and their loved ones.

Take Care Y'all

It was the most perfect late summer morning here in the Northeast.Brilliant clear sky,dry and warm.A friend from 50 miles downstate called and told me to turn on the tv.I could not stand the thought of being alone all day and jumped into my car to drive to his house. We watched in silence, numbed by the atrocity. My first emotion was anger, and it is what I continue to feel. Especially when reading surveys of people blaming the USA, Israel, and "unknown" for the attacks.

You know... I never saw them. I always put off going... "too busy, it's too cold... too broke...etc." After 9/11 I immediately bought a ticket and went.

I had a friend there (whose company had an office in the first tower... I couldn't reach him for over a week...) that I stayed with. I told him that I didn't need to see Ground Zero. I told him that I "knew" what happened there and that I didn't need to be a "lookie loo". After dinner one evening ... nice dinner... Italian, wine, after dinner cordials... etc.... He decided that I needed to see it. Without telling/warning me we took a cab and popped out at Ground Zero. It was still on fire and there was the awful smell... and the thousands of photos and flowers and memorials. I bawled my eyes out (and subsequently HAD to wear sunglasses the entire next day...) and HAVE NEVER AND NEVER WILL FORGET IT!

I hear you dear! I actually took on an Irish lad that I overheard (at a communal table) saying... "These Americans just have to get over it! We deal with the IRA all the time...." I "calmly" lashed out telling him that "We don't deal with terrorism all the time ... and that the last time we were attacked on our soil was about 60 years ago ... and when did a silly molitov cocktail take out nearly 3,000 people?" This was 2 days after the attack.

He shut the f*** up. As he should have. I hate to think what I would have done had he "submitted more input".

“For some white, working-class voters who don’t want to vote for Barack Obama but weren’t sure about McCain, Palin gave them a good reason to take another look and consider supporting McCain,” Rosenthal said.

It's midday on 9/11 in the UK.

I didn't loose anyone that day but a close family friend (an Aussie) was due to have a meeting near the top floor but it was re-arranged for below the point of impact.

He lived. Many, many citizens of the USA, UK and many other countries did not. He now lives way out in the hills of North Carolina, with his lovely family.

Deep respects to those who were not so lucky - especially those who knowingly put their lives at risk like the firemen.

We have a medal in the UK for Air Force personnel which is labeled "for courage". Bravery is going in regardless. To me, courage is thinking about it, knowing the risk, counting the cost and going in anyway. A lot of people deserve that medal on 9/11.

My thoughts are with you.

P.S. Distinguished Flying Medal:

The reverse shows Athena Nike seated on an aeroplane, a hawk rising from her right arm above the words FOR COURAGE, all within a laurel wreath. A bomb is attached to the clasp and ribbon by two wings.

I could care less about race and gender. Culture is a bit of an issue if there is a proven record of pressing an agenda based on that "culture". I don't see that as an issue with McCain/Palin. I am an atheist and pro-choice. I don't feel threatened by this ticket. I am also a capitalist. I DO feel threatened by the Obama/Oatmeal ticket.

Ok. There were several documents that specifically associated American capitalism with Judaic (that spelling doesn't look right to me at 4AM....) greed and the USA support for Israel.

If we get attacked for supporting Israel... BRING IT ON! I would personally support Israel to the death! She seems to (vocally) stand for more of my personal interests than my own country.

Ok.... it is 4AM..... I shouldn't be up... but if I could divide myself in two... I would devote half to Israel and half to the USA.

I should go to bed ... but I have to be at the airport in two hours.....

Lucky, my Brit-writer friend here shared a story he heard from HIS friend, the chief fire constable for that section of London, the man who escorted 'Red' Ken Livingstone down into the subway tube and to the scene of the bombing...

Although 'Red Ken' was chipper and composed (almost flippant) at the start, by the time they got within 150 meters of the emergency crews responding, they were deafened by the shrieks of TENS of THOUSANDS of RATS, come to feast on dead, dying and wounded...

Then Red Ken was escorted into the scene, and made to look at the effects of 2 kilograms of C4 surrounded by nails, exploding in a closet-full of humans...

Shaken, pale and wobbly after vomiting, he was escorted to the surface while the heroes continued evacuating the wounded, keeping the rats away and reinforcing the 1880's brick ceiling, about to crash down on them!

The Old Farmer's Almanac is going further out on a limb than usual this year, not only forecasting a cooler winter, but looking ahead decades to suggest we are in for global cooling, not warming.
Based on the same time-honored, complex calculations it uses to predict weather, the Almanac hits the newsstands on Tuesday saying a study of solar activity and corresponding records on ocean temperatures and climate point to a cooler, not warmer, climate, for perhaps the next half century.

I guess this means that Al Gore will be canceling his subscription.

WE WILL COME FOR YOU.

Don't you love the fact that they are all looking over their shoulders at all times? Sleeping with one eye open? Jumping at the slamming of each door? Each time there is a noise? Each time it is quiet?

Don't you just love the fact that they can't take a crap without worrying if they are going to be found in that embarrassing position?

Don't you just love that they have to pray with their forehead against a rug and their fingers crossed behind their back?

Don't you love the fact that they can't make love to their wives (or goats) without thinking of us coming through the door and seeing their private parts that have been shriveled and shrunken by fear?

These are some of the things have kept us safe. Their fear.

I had no friends in the two towers on 9/11, but they are greatly missed.

I had no friends in the Pentagon on 9/11, but they and their service are a lost asset.

I had no friends on any of the planes that crashed or went down, but each one of those people had family that were greatly hurt, and so I hurt with them.

And today, seven years later, all the friends and family of the victims of 9/11 discover again that they are part of a larger group of Americans who mourn, and miss, their comrades.

322 realwest  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 6:14:17am

Don't know if this has been posted or not but:

Obama calls on US to renew 9/11 spirit of service

CHAMPION, Pa. - On the seventh anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama called on Americans to renew "that spirit of service and that sense of common purpose" that followed the terrorist assaults that killed nearly 3,000 people.

Obama and his rival for the presidency, Republican John McCain, were to appear together twice Thursday, having agreed to suspend all TV ads critical of each other to commemorate the day terrorists forced four airplanes to crash into the World Trade Center towers in New York City, a field in Shanksville, Pa., and the Pentagon in Washington.

In a statement issued Thursday morning, Obama repeated a criticism often leveled from the campaign trail against the Bush administration: The terrorists responsible for the attacks remain at large and "must be brought to justice."

"On 9/11, Americans across our great country came together to stand with the families of the victims, to donate blood, to give to charity, and to say a prayer for our country. Let us renew that spirit of service and that sense of common purpose," he said.
[Link: enews.earthlink.net...]
No mention, of course, but the One, of the anger, shock and determination over that day and for the next year or so on the part of the USA to get those responsible nor to do what it took to prevent anything like that from happening again.
Because to say that would be completely honest and Obama would have to give credit to BUSH for preventing another attack on the US of similar impact EVER SINCE 9/11/01.

I just have to say this about Obama and the putting lipstick on a pig issue. In actuality, Obama probably hasn't been near a live pig in his entire adult life, and possibly not in his entire life. He wouldn't know which end of the pig to put the lipstick.

Two thoughts came to mind in response to his remark:

1) Someone wanting to distance himself from fears that he is Muslim shouldn't work so hard to denigrate pigs.

2) He would get how repulsive his comment was if only somebody would now ask him, 'Sen. Obama, does your wife wear lipstick?' He would be immediately offended by the vague association.

His listeners got it, and he did nothing to quell their lack of decorum. Which has been a trend with his candidacy, his supporters constantly act out in classless fashion and he consistently refuses to risk losing their support by calling them on their low life behavior. Obama deserves all of the criticism he will get for what he said, he may/or may not have meant it that way, but he was proud to let his loyal supporters believe that he intended it as an insult to Palin.

Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area.

As I now work in Lower Manhattan within view of Ground Zero, I rode to work this morning (as I normally do) on PATH, which runs through Ground Zero. I had the opportunity and privilege of being in Ground Zero this morning within the time frame of the first plane hitting while sitting on the PATH train. We stopped before entering Ground Zero at the moment the first plane hit. It was an eerie feeling and one of tremendous sadness. The crowd of people that surges through the PATH station was quieter than normal, which I attribute to the solemnity of the day. I had thought I would take photos of the site and the commemorations in and around Ground Zero, but I realized that I simply could not. The emotions are far too raw, and the protesters - and they will get their undue coverage - made my blood boil.

You had your Troofers - those who engage in conspiracy mongering about who was behind the 9/11 attacks. You have the blame Bush crowd - complete with banners claiming that Bush was behind the terrorist attacks. And then you had several people claiming to be soldiers against the war in Iraq. They too had swarms of photographers and journalists photographing and taking video.

To me, the more poignant views were those of the family members clutching photos of their loved ones, many of whose remains were never recovered. They buried empty caskets. There were the firefighters and police officers from around the region and the country who are coming to pay respects to their brothers who made the supreme sacrifices by running into the burning buildings all while anyone else would be running away.

My full coverage of the rebuilding at Ground Zero over the past year can be found here.

re: #311 Fat Bastard Vegetarian Good morning. I understand how you feel.
But those of us who lived and worked in Manhattan that day remember with great sadness and great anger.
I have to be careful posting today because of that.
I will say THANK YOU to all the First Responders and especially those who gave their lives and to all Americans who helped New York City folks out that day and in the weeks and months to follow.
But my poor words cannot adequately describe the fear (we didn't know, even after the second Tower was hit - something my former wife watched from the street below and I saw on my TV Screen - whether or not any other attacks were coming at us); then we heard about D.C. and were simultaneously afraid and ready to go to war RIGHT THEN AND THERE.
As I said, I'm probably not going to post much on this today, my anger and BP get too high too quickly.

1) Someone wanting to distance himself from fears that he is Muslim shouldn't work so hard to denigrate pigs.

He should also be told this and we'll see if he wants to bring up pigs again.

This is macabre, but during the Civil War, much of the South had free range livestock laws, and cattle and hogs roamed around unfenced. During and after the battles at Shiloh and Stones River, the hogs actually ate the flesh of dead soldiers left on the field. This is documented in The Official Records of the War of the Rebellion, which was compiled by the government near the end of the nineteenth century.
I've heard the people of Hardin County, TN wouldn't eat pork for years after April 6th and 7th, 1862.

1. I know that four planes were hijacked on 9/11.
2. I know that 19 jihadist were aboard those four planes.
3. I know we have cockpit recording of Arabic speaking males in all four cockpits on 9/11.
4. I know from cell phone recordings coming from passengers on flight 93 something was amiss on that plane.
5. I know there were several American heroes aboard flight 93.
6. I know 44 people died when flight 93 crashed in a field just outside Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
7. I know the Pentagon was hit by a plane. All 64 passengers and 125 people working in the Pentagon perished on 9/11.
8. I saw two planes crash into the twin towers on 9/11.
9. I know the twin towers were brought down on 9/11.
10. I know 2998 people from 90 different countries were murdered on 9/11, this includes 24 people that are missing and presumed dead.
11. I don't believe the US Government or Israel brought down those planes...period!

I didn't include the 19 hijackers with the 2998 lost souls from 9/11. The hijackers should never be listed with the 2998…they’re murders, FUCK THEM!

Make your case or duck back under the cover of the lies and fraud of the MSM "NBC', "ABC", "CBS", "PBS", "CNN", "MSMBC", NEW YORK TIMES ,

that and ask "ABC'S" parent company Disney for a copy of

that should help also.

Democrats are now total fraud, and you sir, the sample product.

McCain's campaign manager was on with Hugh Hewitt yesaterday, talking about how now that Obama went back on his word, and decided to forego matching funds, that now he has to raise something like $100 a month in September and October to keep up with McCain. So interesting to me that the moonbat's network, MSNBC, is the only one covering September 11 in real time rebroadcast, which is the most powerful way to experience it....with no pundit analysis.

Trying to pull their ratings out of the dumper.

I was just thinking about how I'm thankful that Gore wasn't elected in 2000. 9/11 would have been just the first attack on the U.S., as our response would have been to send out Federal warrants.

Think of that fact when people are voting for Obama... Ugh...

Yay! I hardly ever post, but this morning is a good morning to sneak a fruit cup from the buffett, say Good Morning to everyone, and reflect on this day. LGF is the first site I visit in the morning, and the last one at night. Don't need no other site!

Hey, that's pretty good....may I have some more?

Roger Ebert is an idiot.

No, he is a critic. That's what he does. How would you (or anyone, for that matter) like to be called a professional critic? [Oh yeah, I make a living out of being an a**hole]

re: #409 nyc redneck

such a beautiful morning today.
so much like the morning on 9-11 when that hell came out of the sky.
but today i will try to find happiness in my life.
i will pick a bouquet of wildflowers.
i will make plum jelly.
i will go to the animal shelter and make a donation.
i will smile at all the people i meet.
i will be patient and soft spoken w/ my family and friends.
but i will not forget how good decent innocent people were killed by monsters.
i will not forget that evil lurks in the world and has designs on our country and way of life.

Yep, you have to ask yourself, what would these moonbats fight for?

I guess if their ability to post stupid comments at websites was taken away they might call foul, then roll over and go back to bed.

They will fight for nothing. They will abuse the First Amendment by using smears, slurs and innuendos to achieve what they want.

Lizards, please keep Big Steve and all of the other Lizards in Ike path in your thoughts and prayers today...Big Steve lives in Galveston.

I feel guilty today because yesterday we were talking about Ike. He was hoping it would stay to the south and I was hoping it would move to the north.

Hats off to MSNBC for replaying live coverage of 9/11. I know some can't bear to relive the day, but I feel it is important for us to do so. We have been kept safe, more or less for seven years, and it is natural human tendency for vigilance to wane. Mine has. I have become steadily more complacent and comfortable as it sometimes seems we are no longer threatened here at home. But we must watch this footage and empathize with ourselves of seven years ago. We must re-feel what we felt then, because, God knows the attitudes and feelings of our enemies have not changed in seven years. If anything, their hatred has grown.

Though seven years have passed, the situation is no less urgent or perilous, and the price of failure carries no smaller risk today than it did seven years ago.
