Good job that they did that. More resources available to everyone. Got to counter the Truthers.

2 Ward Cleaver  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 12:52:42pm

Wow, must watch those, starting tonight.

dang I didn't want to get pulled off the previous thread.

The sheer volume of evil nonsense promoted by anti-American paranoid knuckleheads is very discouraging. They just keep repeating the same hideous lie over and over and over, and it does have an effect. They ought not be a need to counter it, but there is.

A few minutes into it...very good so far.

Back in the days of Pearl Harbor, people had more sense.

OK. I'm done watching. Can't cry at work.

9 Occasional Reader  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 1:02:43pm

I have to confess, I have a lot of trouble watching 9/11 documentaries. It just takes a lot out of me.

I'm with you. I haven't watched more than a few minutes of any. Just can't do it.

Two of of the many incredible, dreadful stories that have stayed with me. A military man attached to the Pentagon was at work when the very plane carrying his young son to a science convention was crashed there.

Another was a woman who was in her office at one of the Twin Towers when a jet plowed into the building, just feet above her head.

Anyone who says that evil does not exist.

I kind of feel the same - I get it and I have always gotten it - we were attacked by Islamic Fundamentalist Jihadists because their religion says that they must have world wide conquest of those who do not submit to their ideology. I knew it the day it happened. That said, these chronologies are necessary because as we know, there are growing hordes of Holocaust deniers and without evidence, the truth is turned upside down on its head.

Same here.

Nearest I can get to describing the feeling is getting a swift kick to the balls while watching someone scratch my car with a key.

OT

Michelle Obama is not at the memorial...

15 Sifty  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 1:12:57pm

re: #14 J.S.

Nor should she be. She wasn't proud yet.

I'll leave it right there.

re: #15 Sifty

Yep. And while CNN's Wolf Blitzer pays lip service to "why this is supposed to be an apolitical moment here..." they start up with 100 percent ads for Obama...right now it's non-stop proselytizing for The One...It's Gloria what's her name Berger yaking away about ObamaMessiah Hussein, etc. CNN is politicizing (o surprise) the memorial. I'm turning channels.

Got a troofer problem?

Popular Mechanics provides the therapy...

re: #16 J.S.

Is CNN still around? Been 7 years since I stopped watching Communist News Network.

Wish they would send Shep to work there.

re: #18 Sifty

Yeah, CNN, it's like watching (or keeping an eye on) what the enemy is up to...(hmmm...although I'd have to say that the BBC and CBC are worse...probably much worse....)

20 Vet_Missing_Parts (1LT, Ret)  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 1:50:11pm

Charles,

Thanks for posting this link. Excellent film, lots of footage of real people and their reactions. No talking heads (OK, the photographers talk to us, but that's different).

21 Vet_Missing_Parts (1LT, Ret)  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 1:55:27pm

OK... the peace vigil replete with singing moonbats and the guy making the "We've been keeping the Palestinians from hope" argument on the evening of the 12th is a bit much.

22 Vet_Missing_Parts (1LT, Ret)  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 2:46:51pm

And then moving on to the Mosque with the "don't blame us" group in front...

23 J.S.  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 2:49:49pm

I guess i should also add, that after 9/11 (being in Canada and all, yet an American citizen) I rediscovered my American patriotism...but, it's been extremely rough...(It came as a total shock to suddenly discover that the people surrounding me didn't share my views/values...it was literally shattering...and I discovered that I'd been under an illusion for decades...and sometimes when i heard some diatribe against Americans on the radio, or read some disgusting editorial in the newspaper, etc., I would be left speechless, uncomprehending, dumbfounded...could I have been really so deceived? etc...) anyway, it's been an eye-opener in more ways than one..

re: #4 zombie

I love (sarcasm) the way Truthers use the Naudet film concerning the firemen back in the station talking about the buildings falling as if they were being purposely demolished, yet ignoring the footage in the film clearly showing two large, fast, nearly fully fueled jets crashing into the buildings. Idiot Hypocrites!

26 Millie Woods  Fri, Sep 12, 2008 10:02:12am

This might be slightly off topic but has anyone made the connection between the fire in the Eurotunnel and the date 9/11? It now turns out that the fire involved a truck/lorry carrying chemicals. The tunnel will be closed for an undisclosed period. H-m-m-m.
