4 vbspurs  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 9:13:11pm

If you didn't see the Nightline version of the Gibson/Palin interview, you missed a VERY good performance by Palin.

I consider the first, badly editted version of the interview to have been conducted in bad faith by Gibson. She was forceful, and knowledgeable to the point of schooling him for his tedious condenscension.

Whew, thought she did well, originally. But she knocked it out of the park, in the lengthier version. WOO!

5 Desert Dog  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 9:13:35pm

Well, let's say all this is true. As I recall, Obama was a self-admitted hard partier and stoner in High School....so, I guess he should just quit the race then. Unless they got picture of Gov. Palin killing puppies with her bare hands and eating them raw, this is nothing.

6 WayDownSouthInBama  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 9:14:42pm

I wonder when the "Obama Family Shockers:What Barrack's Really Hiding" issue is coming out?

PALIN FAMILY SHOCKERS: WHAT SARAH’S REALLY HIDING!

Unlike US Weekly, who added 5 free issues to all those who complained about the "Babies, Lies & Scandals" cover, the National Enquirer do not have to worry about subscription cancellations.

Unless you count owners of parrots and puppies.

And when next week's edition comes out with the "real" news about the Martian baby borne by a virgin in New Mexico, who of the Enquirer's readers will have the attention span to remember the smears on Palin.

Now, as far as the smears from the NYT, ABC, CBS, etc etc... it adds up.

10 Celtic Templar  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 9:16:44pm

That was a funny article. Sources and friends told them everything. I missed the alien abduction autopsy in their barn. This article was a let down :)

I wonder when the "Obama Family Shockers:What Barrack's Really Hiding" issue is coming out?

In tiny defence (sheesh, I can't believe I'm doing this) the NE actually mentioned that Obama and Michelle were involved in shouting matches about "his other women".

Another lie, obviously.

This doesn't surprise me in the least I've been waiting for some news rag to write some kind of hatchet job, more like I'm shocked it to them this long to do it.

13 krypto  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 9:17:18pm

The National Enquirer is just trying to expand their sales market. Never before would liberal elite "intellectuals" be caught dead reading it. But now they can all be expected to be in line at the grocery checkouts trying to buy their copy.

Don't hold your breath. But fear not, just the stuff that everyone has learned about Barry over the past months is worse than anything the National Inquirer or the SWAT team of lawyers the Dems sent up to Alaska to dig the dirt will find.

The picture in the article is a strong visual contradiction to the article's content.
National Enquirer buyers only look at the pictures. So, this article will only make more people vote for McCain/Palin "America First" Ticket.

Tempest in a teapot, and it will be fun seeing everyone haul out Bush's girls' indiscretions, Obama's OBVIOUS "youthful" parallel (I WISH somebody could get something on Obama and Michelle doing a little weed after those dinner parties at the Ayers'...), Biden being loaded NOW -- AS he campaigns and embarrasses himself and everybody else around him with his foolish talk.

I was thinking about this trash rag the other day. You know- there is a lot of money to be made in misogyny. It's why you see magazines such as this degrading women with cover stories as to who does and does not have the best beach body, and wild accusations about who's sleeping with who, and other assorted personal life problems. The tabloids and other celebrity magazines made me disgusted years ago, but now that disgust has sunk to a new low. They are utterly vile. May they lose readership on par or faster than the msm.

Whoopie.

I suppose there are two things to do in Alaska when you are a teenager - get drunk and screw. Pretty much the same as a lot of America.

Sorry - it just makes Sarah Palin more normal.

If these events happened in the Bush or Kerry family, or any other political dynasty household, the kids would get discretely flown off to a "finishing school" with a built in rehab center and limo service to the local hair salon and mall.

Fact-Checking Lizards . . . .is it true? Just go this in my email. No sources listed.

"Before you dismiss the fact that Sarah Palin is Commander of the Alaska National Guard consider this. Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It’s on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.
As governor of Alaska , Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counter-terrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden's and certainly by far exceeds Obama's.

She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security's counter-terrorism plans. Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country's defense. Given Alaska 's proximity to Russia , she may have security clearances we don't even know about.
According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.

She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is."

50 lifeofthemind  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 9:25:47pm

As with the Edwards story the Enquirer's lawyers will have made sure they have signed statements. The difference here is that they had the photographic proof in that case. If there was evidence of drug use the son would have failed his pre-enlistment or pre-deployment physicals.

51 Bubbaman  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 9:25:54pm

At least the NE doesn't play favorites. Edward's stuff was more racy. If they went after Osama it would be even wilder.

52 Dahveed  Thu, Sep 11, 2008 9:25:58pm

The Enquirer in order to come up with a story can't really find anything that sticks to the parents. So, they try to drum up some dirt on the kids. Somehow I have a feeling that if the kids were prudes the press would probably go after them as being boring. Or they would blame the parents for not exposing their children to a world outside of religious piety.

New York Daily News:
Reports that Track Palin vandalized school buses aren't true, says pal

Despite snowballing reports and rumors, Sarah Palin's eldest son, Track, was not part of the gang of four teenagers who criminally vandalized
44 Alaska school buses in 2005, a key culprit told The News.

"Track wasn't with me. Track had nothing to do with it," participant Deryck Harris, 20, said Wednesday in an exclusive interview.

Citing an anonymous judicial source, the Anchorage radio station 1080 KUDO was the first to report last week that Track Palin was the unidentified 16-year-old delinquent who not only trashed the buses but also swiped the bottle of alcohol that fueled the teen rampage.

The National Enquirer will report his "involvement" in the "notorious" attack in its issue out Thursday.

"I was friends with him. We hung out. But he wasn't there," Harris said, describing the incident as a senior prank gone awry. "It was my high school mistake. It was a really bad choice. I've paid my restitution." (con't)

All it does for me, is put the whole John Edwards piece in perspective...I was never one of those that thought he was on the VP short list, rumors notwithstanding. As a candidate, he would have brought ZIP to an Obama ticket. The man couldn't even carry his own state, for Petes sake. Plus factor in how long the story really lasted...what, a week maybe 2? The man is a political zero and the 'blockbuster' report by The Enquirer was worthless.

But NOW, they garner (in their minds) MSM street cred, if they can bring Palin-scandal ridden stories to the forefront. Lets face it, it'll make them much more revnue than one about a 1 term ambulette chaser that 'channels' deceased children.

I've been told by a guy who used to be in marketing that every square inch of a grocery store layout is carefully plotted in all three dimensions so that it's ideally impossible to avoid looking at this crap. I asked him about it after I noticed once that everywhere I looked there were headlines for gossip rags in yellow print. He confirmed for me that the whole check-out "experience" is designed that way. Even if you try to look down, they've put ads on the floor.

The Army Marksmanship Unit wanted my kid - bad. He made dang near weekly visits to the testing center for DRUG TESTS. Multiple times. In the end, he decided that if they weren't going to give him an assignment, he wasn't going to join - and didn't. But they sure tested the Hell out of his blood.

When I commanded a company back an eternity ago, I'd get the pee test results regularly. I'd also get the list of the "random selectees" for more stringent testing, and I'd be asked by Top if I needed to add any more names to the "random" list, which I enjoyed doing from time to time.

I know that our friends on the left love to talk about declining Army standards, but drug use ain't tolerated.

One wonderful benefit of having a strong conservative woman like Sarah Palin on a national ticket is that the NOW crowd, the Femi-Nazis (to quote Rush), the"so-called" keepers of woman's rights in the USA get to display their true identities and demonstrate on a large scale their complete hypocrisy on actual woman's rights. They stand for only the women who follow their strict guidelines and political dogma ONLY. If you deviate from their "religion", you are not pure. I hope McCain wins, and I hope the fact that Sarah Palin made it to such high office without any of their help or blessings makes them both mad and insignificant.

Gossip, smears, shunning- these are ways women punish other women they've decided they don't like or need to be taken down a peg or two.

That's the bread and butter of rags like the national inquirer. Watch them- watch their cover for a few weeks, or a month or two and you'll see it. re: #155 Palandine

I agree, the coverage has gotten more strange in the past few years. The baby bump thing is about as strange as it gets. It's like they are trying to make gossip about Jaime Lynn Spears, but at the same time authenticating bad behavior.

It's like they are saying "aw, she's so cute with the bump". When "she" (most of the time) is a grown women and probably makes more than the reporter will ever dream of.

I think it's the "shock factor" of the gossip and that maternity clothing and baby accutrements are a growing market for advertisers.

Same with the purse pooch pix of Paris Hilten and friends. At the same time all the specialty pet boutiques were opening and doggie bling was for sale at Target et. al.

The celebrities basically sell their souls for a few years as advertising fodder. They wear it, use it, drive it and stay in the tabloids. The more their face is out there, the more marketable they are.

Well, let's say all this is true. As I recall, Obama was a self-admitted hard partier and stoner in High School....so, I guess he should just quit the race then. Unless they got picture of Gov. Palin killing puppies with her bare hands and eating them raw, this is nothing.

Funny thing is that the situations are comparable.

Plain isn't accused of partying and getting knocked up - her kids are.

So you have Barry the party guy and Trak the party guy. On running for President, the other is just trying to grow up.

So the attack on Palin is on her mothering, which makes the attack all the more outrageous. Only women can be slimed this way - men are immune.

The fact that this is all they seem to have tells me that Palin is pretty squeaky clean. I have three sons, two of them teenagers. Sometimes, no matter what you do, your kids have to find their own way.

You are right about the fact they are looking at her kids and not her. Obama admits he did stupid things when he was a kid, but I guess he gets a pass on that.

I think this massive attack by the left on Palin will backfire. It already has. They cannot attack her like Bush and not expect a backlash. Everytime they go after her and her family like this, more and more people rally behind her.

If he has ever done any drugs, even smoked pot, I think he'd have a hard time suing anyone.

But the fact is that he would NOT be in the military right now if he were currently involved in drug use. So whatever he did before, he's clean now.

The other rumors, like the vandalism, seem to be false.

It will be fun to watch the leftists, who talked about NE being UFO Central when it was hounding Edwards, embrace this rag for its 'fine' journalism.

He's a plagiarist and he's been in the Senate since I was 1; hardly Change! He's prone to say exceedingly dopey things. He couldn't get more than 1% of the vote in Iowa.

Even so, he's light years more qualified than the top of the ticket, who was a community organizer ("What?"--Rudy Giuliani), a law journal editor who never managed to publish anything, a state senator who voted "Present" 130 times, and te junior senator from Illinoi who decided to run for President after 142 days in the Senate. He's written, to quote a great woman, two memoirs but no significant legislation.

There's plenty of issues to go after the dems on. Let's point out the MSM's slimy tactics against Republicans, but for our part keep hammering on the very real experience and policy differences between the tickets.

Actually, most Oxy addicts have to withdraw and maintain on another drug (can't remember the name) for extended periods of time, sort of like Methadone with heroin addicts. Oxy clogs and damages the "pleasure receptors" in the brain, and this drug mitigates some of those effects, IIRC. The military would have been on that like white on rice, IMO.

That is what Rush was addicted to. And, I think Cindy McCain had the same problem. When you have a lot of pain, you just want it to stop. Once you start on those things, you get used to them.....they are highly addicting and apparently hard to stop once you start.

Dreadful drug, IMO. Maybe it's ok for ca patients but apart from that I hate it. We stock it and taper people down but it's still a crappy drug. The biggest problem is that people will think the withdrawal is a return of the "real" pain and stay on the med, develop a tolerance, and stay on it as long as they can. And methadone sucks too, plenty of methadone addicts out there.

I believe Track Palin would have failed the drug screens for the military if this bs was true and I wonder if the NE was being toyed with by people betting that the MSM could be suckered into printing anything at all?

I find it bizarre that none of his friends from his past are ever interviewed. I am not looking for anything bad about him I am just wondering where are any of these people. I mean most people running for office have someone come forward and say they knew them when. Was Michelle the only woman he ever dated. Am I the only one that finds it very unusual that no other woman has ever dated the man. Surely some woman would come forward and say something. The Enquirer’s team of reporters has combed the Alaskan wilderness to discover the hidden truth about Gov. Palin’s family, which has become a central part of her political identity.

Sounds more like a Geraldo Riviera diatribe than actual reporting. Anyways, who the &$@* cares what those losers say about Track? He is going off to serve the country in Iraq. How many of the ex-military folks do you think there are in the entire National Enquirer staff?

Pictures, or it doesn't mean anything.

Everyone has a phone now that takes pictures (except me) or a digital camera. If they can post photos showing an identifiable Track snorting blow with his friends or Bristol partying, well, that's one thing, although it's no reflection on the governor.

They HAD a picture of Edwards. They caught him at the hotel with his lover. Big difference.

And, everyone knew beforehand--it was just that the Enquirer was willing to go with the story. The governor has an 80% approval rating even after defeating democrats and fellow Republicans--if there was dirt to dig it would have been dug by now.

She's clean.

I would like to see one just one of Obama's classmates come forward and say anything about his life at Columbia or the other colleges he went to but we never hear anything. Stop the crap about the kids I want to know more about the guy who wants to be the CIC.

re: #5 Desert Dog

Well, let's say all this is true. As I recall, Obama was a self-admitted hard partier and stoner in High School....so, I guess he should just quit the race then. Unless they got picture of Gov. Palin killing puppies with her bare hands and eating them raw, this is nothing.

So very true.

George Bush's daughters, while living in the White House and the TX governor's mansion, were known to be "partiers" and heavy drinkers. Al Gore's son, if I recall, was arrested for marijuana possession. Barack Obama himself practically bragged in his autobiography about spending most of his youth high on marijuana and cocaine. George Bush was a party animal frat boy in college and a self-admitted alcoholic in his 40s. So now we're supposed to be shocked that the VP nominee's son took presctiption drugs recreationally, and her daughter "made out" with a lot of guys? The MSM might try to get some traction out of this, but I can only hope that it would backfire seriously. Who in the world cares about what a teenaged boy in Alaska did, when the other side's presidential candidate admitted to doing much worse himself? Who could even pretend to feign mock outrage that a 17-year-girl is pregnant -- when Obama's own unmarried mother got pregnant with him at the age of (can you guess?) 17, and the later married the father?

This is not some gossip competition on the junior high playgound, this is a presidential campaign. The blows are so low they're punching Palin in the toes.

Speaking of (prescribed) drugs, I have learned something. If you take an Ambien to try and get to sleep, there's always a red flag that pops up and screams "bedtime" about 20 minutes after ingestion. Hard to pull off.

Battlefield and Theater analysis starts with looking at "lines of communication" which includes logistics.

There is a lot of water between Russia and the Caribbean. And Russia doesn't have the Navy we have or the warm water ports. Bad time of year to start screwing with us with such extended lines.

And it would give us a green light for taking out Chavez. The Marxists in Bolivia would just disintegrate without Chavez' support, IMO.

That's the other thing: America loves sexy sex addicts. Even if all this stuff is true, it would only increase the fascination factor. And once again, it knocks Obama off the front page. All that really matters in a Presidential race is "name recognition." In the space of 12 days, Palin went from zero name recognition to being more famous than Obama! That's several million extra votes, just on that fact alone. Complete disaster for the Obama camp.

Uh, yeah. Those opioids stay in the body for a long time since they are fat soluble, correct? And the military does random drug tests all the time.

Not to mention that this kid was a serious athlete all through high school. If they had said steroids, plausible because 'roids have become way too popular even at that age. Snorting/smoking all manner of things? Not likely. Serious athletes don't ruin their aerobic capacity, generally.

A little weed or an experimental cigarrette or two? shrug....but even that really cuts down on your performance even at that young age when your body seems nearly indestructible. Yeah, I had to learn that the hard way.

As you note, there is a risk associated with that class of drugs that includes doing "awake" things while you are "asleep". However, if you have chronic insomnia, its a risk more than worth taking. After about the 3rd or 4th day of being up till 4 or 5 in the morning and then getting up at 6 or 7 and heading off to your job, you are a hazard on the commute and a hazard on the job. There are some anti-psychotics such as Seroquel that are used off label for insomnia that do not have these problems, but have a different sort. Tardive dyskinesia is one of them since it hits the D2 dopamine receptors. Because of this, it is best approached with caution. As for Ambien and drugs in its class, you also develop a tolerance for them it it requires higher dosages over time to get the effect. Not exactly an addiction, but something similar. When this happens, you frankly have to start to taper down the drug over a period of time, otherwise you may start to get the less desirable side effects.

The brain is an interesting piece of goods. The most interesting thing I have ever seen is the fact that ducks can put 1/2 of their brain to sleep and keep the other half awake. There was a picture in the Scientific American of a row of sleeping ducks. The duck at either end had its "outside to the line" eye open watching for things and its "inside to the line" eye closed because that half of the duck's brain was asleep. All the ducks in the middle of the line were asleep with both eyes closed. The guys on both ends of the line were the "watchmen" and would raise an alarm if they saw a problem.

Sleep disorders are a bitch.

That is a possibility, Lawyers and news hounds from the lower 48 show up waving money, locals start competing to see who can pass the biggest whopper. Surprised none of the mainlanders or whatever they call outsiders there didn't get hurt.

That same thought had crossed my mind. Friends of the Palin children get together, and agree to spill some readily-disprovable dirt to a credulous batch of tabloid reporters, partly for the sheer fun of it, and partly to ensure the reporters don't dig enough to find any real skeletons, should they exist.

In which case they will probably wait until the NY Times runs with the story, and then come forward and admit to stringing the Enquirer along. Could be a real hoot.

I would like to see one just one of Obama's classmates come forward and say anything about his life at Columbia or the other colleges he went to but we never hear anything. Stop the crap about the kids I want to know more about the guy who wants to be the CIC.

It's not very hard to find articles about him during his college years, although the info about him at Columbia is sort of scant because, as he says, he lived like a monk, becoming a serious student for the firat time. Here are a couple of pieces that might interest you. Let me know if you're interested in more. Or google!

She was 17 (not 16) when she conceived Barack Jr. with Barack Sr. Even though dad already had two wives back in Kenya, when she told him she was pregnant, he shrugged and agreed to marry her too. As soon as the semester was over, he immediately left the state and went to Harvard -- where he proceeded to marry yet another American woman (without ever divorcing Ann Dunham or his Kenyan wives). The unbelievably naive Harvard wife then insisted on following him back to Africa, where she discovered she was bottom of the pecking order in the harem, and stomped home in a huff.

As for the other thing mentioned about Uncle Davis, I have no idea.

I think you have a few facts wrong here. Not that it matters terrifically, but Barack, Sr. had been married only once when he went to Hawaii, and he stayed w/ Barack and his mother until Barack was two, which is a little longer than the end of the semester.

Hmmm...you may be right. I'm not 100% positive. But just recently didn't Obama say that the only time he met his father was when he was 10 years old? I thought that implied that his father disappeared shortly after he was born. Though it may have been two years -- I didn't look it up, just going on memory.

As for the number of wives -- I thought for sure he had two in Kenya, plus the Hawaii wife, and the Harvard wife. (All simultaneously.) Maybe one of the Kenya wives came later?

re: #420 capitalist piglet

I don't have a theory- I only know that:

1/ The AP went with a phony "quote" sometime abut a week ago that went all around the net

2/ The clips and trascript I saw earlier on ABC News site had the same phony truncated quote- which completely changes what she said--now being said by C. Gibson, followed by Sarah's questioning-- I don't know that those are my exact words Charley-- Gibson cuts her off and says "exact quote"---
Then she gives her explanation and reference to Lincoln.

----
Following the original airing on ABC News, the only News I saw was on Fox-- Hannity mentioned the misquote.

Replay on ABC Niteline had cut the tape, eliminating Gibson reading "her" words, eliminating her questioning the accuracy.

Next, I noticed Yahoo News listing video clips of the interview with headkines taht presume the phony quote and clips that also eliminate the Gibson reading, Palin questioning, and Gibson claiming exact quote.

Theory? Don't have one.
Bit i pretty much reject any theory that starts with professional journalists making a "mistake" of that significance, in an interview of this significance-- when it was already played out - and corrected-- a week ago.

In referring to the only time he met his father, he may have meant the only time he remembered, as he wouldn't have remembered early contacts.

Here's what I found re wives on Wikipedia. Seems there were three wives: the initial Kenyan wife, Ann Dunham, and the woman he met at Harvard.

Due to a program offering Western educational opportunities to outstanding Kenyan students that was organized by nationalist leader Tom Mboya,[6] Obama was awarded a scholarship in economics, and at the age of 23 he enrolled at the University of Hawaii. He left behind a pregnant Kezia and their infant son. As his son Senator Obama has said, "The Kennedys decided: 'We're going to do an airlift. We're going to go to Africa and start bringing young Africans over to this country and give them scholarships to study so they can learn what a wonderful country America is. This young man named Barack Obama [Sr.] got one of those tickets and came over to this country."[9] An article by Michael Dobbs in The Washington Post, however, states that the Kennedy family did not become associated with the educational airlift until 1960, a year after Obama was studying in the United States. Initial financial supporters of the program included Harry Belafonte, Sidney Poitier, Jackie Robinson, and Elizabeth Mooney Kirk, a literacy advocate who provided most of the financial support for Obama Senior's early years in the United States, according to the Tom Mboya archives at Stanford University.[6]

According to Senator Obama, the elder Obama had already abandoned Islam and become an atheist by the time he moved to the United States.[10] Barack Obama Sr.'s daughter Auma has commented that her father "was never a Muslim although he was born into a Muslim family with a Muslim name."[7]

On February 2, 1961, Obama married a fellow student, Ann Dunham in Maui, Hawaii.[11] Their son, Barack Obama, was born on August 4, 1961. Two years later, Obama was accepted at Harvard for graduate study. He moved to Massachusetts, unable to afford to take his wife and son with him. He and Dunham divorced in 1963. The divorce was filed in Honolulu, Hawaii in January 1964, and he only saw his son again once, at age 10. He received the AM degree from Harvard in 1965.[12]

At Harvard, he met an American-born teacher named Ruth Nidesand who would follow him to Kenya when he returned after completing his Masters degree. She eventually became his third wife and had two children with him before they divorced.[13]

Yes, I see now: Barack Sr. had two "Kenyan" wives:
Kezia Obama, whom he married first, before going to the US, and Ruth Ndesandjo -- though it turns out that Ruth Ndesandjo is actually Ruth Nidesand, the Harvard wife. I guess she was assigned an Africanized name. But there was also apparently a fourth woman, Jael, by whom he had a baby -- though no one seems to know if he actually married her. All of these in addition to Ann Dunham. So, three wives, four wives -- not entirely clear.

I think later - iirc, when he moved back to Kenya, he married at least two more women. The only wife I recall being added to the string prior to Stanley Ann was Kezia, who had a son and was pregnant with another child when he left for the USA. There is no doubt in my mind that the man was a rotter, since he obviously did not tell Barry's mother he was already married.

I think Stanley Ann considered herself legally married, since, according to what I've read, she officially divorced the fellow in 1964, after the shock of finding he already had a wife when he married her.

Of course, the man could have slipped a few more wives in there. Perhaps only the ones who got knocked up are remembered. That sounds snide, but I mean it seriously.

Yeah. And actually this is not good Muslim behavior. Muslim men who adhere to their laws may have more than one wife, but they don't treat them like that. Also, I very much doubt that Senior was in any way religious.

Barry's dad makes me think of George Joseph Smith, of "Brides in the Bath" fame.

And by the way, it's crap. The kid may have used drugs...how man kids do that these days? But the Enquirer, being the sleazy rag that it is, makes him out to be a drug lord from the frozen north. I am waiting for the expose about Barack's kids that shows how they bully everyone in the playground.

lol

I think the Enquirer was investigating John Edward's lies, and affair while his wife is battling cancer

when they 'found' the child

The difference between investigating John Edwards, and Sarah Palin, is the Enquirer had all the scoop on Edwards, while he was running for President in the Democrat primaries, and they didn't raise the issue until months after Obama had already clinched the nomination.

Yet, some people try to draw a scenario regarding not having a problem with the Enquirer investigating both sides, like there is some kind of unbiased opinion in it?

Sheesh!

It's like people not having a problem with Charlie Gibson asking Sarah Palin "tough" questions, yet, Charlie Gibson never has, and never will as k tough questions to any of the Dem candidates!

The Enquirer is a bird cage liner, nothing more.

The msm is 100% in the tank for, and with Obama, including FAUX News!

They can all go to Hell!

The hatred of ALL of the left can't be stopped, or even tempered, which may turn this election into a landslide victory for McCain/Palin.

Even Nobama can't temper his hatred, his attacks on McCain/Palin are getting sharper, and this is the "chosen one", who once proclaimed that he is "above" the fray.

He's still just a thug (corrupt) Chicago politician.

Alternative Universe [Jay Nordlinger]

A reader with a vivid political imagination dreams of the following exchange:

Charlie Gibson: “Senator Obama, you have referred in the past to ‘my Muslim faith.’ How strong is your Muslim faith?”
Barack Obama: “You know, I don’t know if that was my exact quote.”
Charlie Gibson: “Exact words.”

You remember the old bit about the movie ad? Reviewer Joe Smith says, “This is far from a great movie.” And the ad comes out, “Joe Smith says, ‘This is . . . a great movie’!”

Gibson did not commit a capital offense — and if Palin performed poorly in this interview, the responsibility is hers alone. But the abbreviation of that quote — not so cool.

There is more misogyny in the culture than I thought before. As a woman, I feel I have equal opportunities and rights, but the culture is uglier than I thought.

Yah, the "baby bump" term seems to trivialize pregnancy, much like the "bottomless chum bucket" (Sideshow Bob's term) of "popular culture" (an oxymoron, if you ask me) does to just about damn near everything. The term that creeps me out is M I L F. When I was a teenager, I never about any of my friends' moms in that way.

The NE story is already shown to be BS. They said Track was involved in vandalizing buses and was forced to join the military to avoid jail. The culprits involved and even the parents of those kids have stated Track had nothing to do with it.

They probably found someone willing to make up lies about the Palin kids for cash. By simply printing what their "source" said they likely insulate themselves from a lawsuit they'd lose. "They didn't know if it was false, they thought they had a reliable source. We weren't trying to damage them, we just felt it was news worthy." IIRC it has to be proven that they knew it was false, printed it to damage the person, and that it did so.

It was the same with the Community Service interview of the Presidential candidates separately at Columbia University. I was not surprised by the repeated questions. "Well do you think America is the greatest country in the world?" was repeated 3 or 4 times, as if to say ah ha McCain thinks other countries are not as great as the U.S!. Then there was the woman's shrillness throughout the interview, especially when McCain CLEARLY made a joke about his own age. She actually took it to mean that McCain was bored with the repeated questions. (Sounds like someone being convicted by her own conscience to me). There were quite a few applause lines that simply went over the liberal crowds head.
I loved when she kept asking about how unfair it is for the poor to serve in the military when the rich don't have to. (Eh it's not a draft honey). McCain's response was "Well If Universities like this would allow the R.O.T.C. on their campus's then more affluent people who need to pay off those student loans would be able to serve. When It was Obama's turn the questioners all but wagged their tails and peed on the stage in excitement.
