Have you heard the joke about the woman who was staring so intently at a man at the checkout line, he asked her, "Have we met?" She replied, "Yes, I think you're the father of one of my children."
He thought of the only time he had ever been unfaithful and he whispered to her, "Were you that stripper at the bachelor party I did on the pool table with all my buddies watching, while your partner whipped me with limp celery?"
To which she replied, "No, I'm your son's teacher."

Fannie & Freddie funneled congressmen at least $11,848,193 according to opensecrets.com. Those congressmen & women should be called on to return that money to the tax payers. That would reduce the liability to the taxpayers by almost 15% of the $80 bailout. There may be more given to the D&R NC'S, I got a bit overwhelmed with the numbers.
Then there's the $25MILLION that Raines got through what appears to be fraud... can't we get any of that back?

Today is talk like a pirate day.
Soooooo...
... I present:
Stuart Smalley's Daily Affirmations for the Inner Pirate
Monday:
"I'm going to rape and pillage today just for the heck of it because, gosh darn it, I deserve to have a good time."
Tuesday:
"I am not a fraud, a thief yes, but not a fraud."
Wednesday:
"I deserve all the loot and booty I can carry without feeling ashamed or being grandiose."
Thursday:
"I will express my feelings today. I will not hide them behind my eyepatch. My eyepatch is not a mask for my feelings, but rather a small swatch of leather that covers a hideous scar."
Friday:
"When I overtake that merchants vessel, I will not be playing those parent tapes in my head: "You wield a cutlass like a girl" . . . "Why can't you be more like Blackbeard's son?" . . . "Philosophy? What kind of major is that? It's useless!"
Saturday:
"Just because I indulge in wine and wenches does not mean I'm an alcoholic sex-addict like my father."
Sunday:
"If I must violently put down a mutiny today, it is not because I am a bad person or that I am not worthy of love; it is because my crew are a bunch of yellow-bellied, lily-livered sons-of-whores--and I am mean enough, ruthless enough, and dog gone it, people fear me."

Yes -- I'd seen that. Of course, the Democrats couldn't let Sarah Palin appear at this rally and be seen supporting Israel and standing strong against Iran -- too much risk that she'd dispel the myths about her being a Buchananite Israel-hater or a fundamentalist anti-Semite.
But I am hopeful that this bodes well for the GOP's chances with the Jewish vote this year: Oldest U.S. Voter Abroad Backs McCain.

As I understand it the Freddie/Fannie bailout consists, essentially, of a promise to back those organizations, and the promise is intended to allow them to operate. The $200 billion has not actually been spent, although it could be if things were to get worse at Fannie/Frieddie.
Is that correct?

Web proxy firm working with FBI to trace Palin e-mail hacker
Ramuglia is now in the process of importing more than 80GB worth of log data into a database for analysis. He said he's reasonably confident he can help authorities sift through the logs and trace access back to the originating IP address -- especially because the self-professed hacker has admitted using just one proxy service to access Palin's account.
Also:
Palin Hackers(s) Traced to Obama's Hometown of Chicago
According to an internet security expert located in San Francisco, Gabriel Ramuglia, the Palin email hackers were careless and left a digital trail. That trail leads directly to a server site in Chicago which happens to be the city where all of Obama’s men plot their daily moves. Mr. Ramuglia says that their electronic signature will be easily obtained from the server logs at that site.

The letter sat unopened on the table by the door. It had been sitting there for nearly a week. Howard knew the return address and that is why it had sat for so long, untouched. That night, a cab pulled up in front of his ground floor apartment. Howard was in his pajamas, curled up in a ball on the couch, staring at the stuffed chipmunk on the mantle. He was suddenly startled by a knock at the door. A sense of fear and anticipation swept over him simultaneously. There was one person he wanted to see more than anyone else in the world,... the same person he never wanted to see again. If it was Susan, he would be furiously overwhelmed with joy and, at the same time, happy with his anger. He stood up and hesitated eagerly for the door...

By question #2 I had "figured out" the test and knew without doubt who had said which one. But as for the immigration question, I disagreed with/knew they were lying in both cases, so it was a empty choice. So I just chose McCain to screw with their heads.

It's fun but it's lame. The problem is that they focus on what the candidates SAY as opposed to their records (votes). What any politician running for office says is pretty much worthless.
Exactly. Also, they're focusing on a lot of (to me) peripheral issues. Gay marriage? Abortion? Gotta be frank: I don't freakin' care. I elect a president for one primary reason, and that is to protect this country. On that issue, McCain wins hands down. The culture wars stuff is irrelevant and off-topic to me. And, besides, the president really has little role in it.

That's the way I understand it to read at face value, but I'm not a Harvard lawyer. I've been trying to understand it better. There has been a lot of vandalism on those foreclosed inflated priced loans with less value after the bubble burst, before you even take into account the devastation left by an irresponsible borrower. From some of the anecdotal stories I've read, there could easily be more than $200 billion in lost asset value.
Am I paranoid if they're really after me?

This article I like, though. Especially this part:
An Associated Press voter survey conducted Sept. 5 found that among white women, 65 percent said Mrs. Palin shared their values, compared with 46 percent who said the same of Mr. Biden. A new Newsweek poll revealed support for Mr. McCain among white females is 53 percent, compared with 37 percent who favor Mr. Obama.

Now the 0bama campaign is saying McCain is lying again about the latest ad:
Obama's campaign says Raines is not an Obama adviser and that McCain's campaign knows it because Raines said so in an e-mail earlier this week to Carly Fiorina, a top McCain adviser. Obama's campaign provided The Associated Press with a copy of the e-mail.
"Carly: Is this true?" Raines asks above a forwarded note informing him that Fiorina was on television saying he was an Obama housing adviser. "I am not an adviser to the Obama campaign. Frank."
Obama's campaign says Fiorina did not respond.
McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said he was not aware of the e-mail to Fiorina, but noted that the Post reported on three occasions, between July 16 and Aug. 28, that Raines was advising Obama.
"If he was not advising, obviously someone somewhere along the way should have corrected the record," Rogers said.
Obama spokesman Bill Burton said he has since asked the Post for a correction. Burton said Obama only met Raines once briefly at an event, and that Raines sought an introductory meeting with Obama Senate aide Mike Strautmanis. At that meeting, Burton said no advice was sought from or given by Raines, who also had served as President Clinton's budget director.
"This is another flat-out lie from a dishonorable campaign that is increasingly incapable of telling the truth," Burton said. "Frank Raines has never advised Senator Obama about anything—ever."
Interesting how 0bama wasn't outraged until it turned up in a campaign ad, but if the msm reported it they weren't. What a load of crap.

When Bush's solution made the market go up, the media got Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi in front of the television cameras a.s.a.p. just so we dumb peasants can see where the real leadership is coming from. You may find this interesting. I was preparing to send emails to these organizations, and I thought it would be good to include the pic of Sarah Palin's office that showed the small Israeli flag in the window. I went to Yahoo and searched images for "Palin Israel Flag" and initially got (only) two links to pictures, and these were only thumbnails. I then searched "Obama Israel Flag" and got two pages of pictures (note some of them were of burning American flags). I then went back and re-searched "Palin Israel Flag", not two minutes later, and the search returned ZERO images!
Question for Charles and anyone else who if familiar with how these search engines work: WTF happened?
By the way, I have the screenshot of my first "Palen Israel Flag" search from cache. Also, once I find the "office" picture I'm looking for the I'm sending the emails to these orgs. that disinvited Palen, urging them to "grow a pair" and do the right thing.

The office picture I had seen with Palin incorrectly identifies the Alaska state flag as the Israeli one. I'm not sure if there's another flag in her office not in the shot, but the Alaska state flag is dark blue with a series of yellow stars forming the Big Dipper on it. Israel's is mostly white with a light blue star of david and a horizontal blue stripe above and below the star of david.

Good morning, Lizards.
Pirates. Arrr.
Fun facts;
1. The "Golden Age Of Piracy" only lasted about four decades, from the initial outbreak of piracy following the end of Queen Anne's War (between England and Spain) in 1690, when many privateers turned rogue, to the end of the era in 1730, with the hanging of "Calico Jack" Rackham, the last of the major pirates.
2. The "Spanish Main" was not the OPAREA of the majority of the "famous" pirates. The great Spanish treasure convoys belonged to the Elizabethan era- Sir Francis Drake's time. The treasure ships found in the West Atlantic at this time were mainly Portuguese, and coming out of Brazil. By the "Golden Age", there was far richer "booty" to be had in the Indian Ocean (raiding the treasure ships of various Indian potentates) and off the west coast of Africa (everything from gold and spices to slaves). Captain Kidd never even entered the Caribbean- the nearest he got was taking on water and a few recruits at St. Cristobal, in the Bermudas, enroute to the Cape of Good Hope to go to work off the coast of India.
3. Speaking of William Kidd, his "career" lasted 27 months, and he "took" a total of four "ships"- three of them fishing boats. He was sent out as a licensed privateer by the British East India Company to harass Indian shipping, with a duly-authorized letter of marque and a specially- built ship, the Adventure Galley (yes, it had oars and everything- handy in the light airs of the Indian Ocean). The one major prize he seized, the Quedagh Merchant (which he renamed the Adventure Prize after taking it over- because his own ship had been built with unseasoned timber, and was literally rotting under his feet) turned out to be the property of.... the British East India Company, his employers. He apparently didn't bother to read the ship's papers until after he'd killed its officers. (Needless to say, neither his former employers, or the British Crown, were amused by this.) The Royal Navy hunted him down, and he was hanged at Admiralty Dock (below the tide line, of course). While considered a "legendary" pirate today, in his own time, Kidd was considered a joke- while a competent ship-handler, he was definitely out of his depth as an independent operator.
3. The Greatest Pirate Of Them All was neither Kidd, nor Edward Teach aka Blackbeard. It was a fellow named Bartholomew Roberts, who in 30 months (from June 1719 to 10 Feb 1722) captured over 400 ships and ravaged commerce from the coast of Brazil to West Africa. His end came when a Royal Navy frigate, on cornering his ship, the Royal Fortune, fired its broadside right into same, and Roberts was killed by a blast of grapeshot. BTW, Roberts was the prototype of both "The Dread Pirate Roberts" in The Princess Bride, and Captain Jack Sparrow in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies.
(Of course, the real article would have eaten either of his fictional versions for breakfast and picked his teeth with their ribs. Arr, matey.)
Actually, I feel a bit like a pirate today, seeing as how I scored 100% John McCain on the ABC match thing.
Have to go. Have a great day, Lizards.
/time to keelhaul some idiots. arrr
cheers

Reboot. If it's a blue rectangle which pops up to log in, use the password. If it's a XP window, hit return without inputting ANYTHING. Your desktop will appear, trust me.

But never mention that the hacker found nothing except personal correspondence. What responsible journalism.
I thought that NO e-mails about state business were found!
BTW, don't expect anything approaching even-handedness from The Tennessean. It's a lap-dog of the state's Democrats. Years ago when I lived in the metro area and long before I became a Lizard, I knew it was as useful as tits on a boar hog when it came to reporting fairly about politics.

Maybe because I live in Florida, I have a very sanguine view that McCain/Palin will win. I suspect it'll be over 300 EVs.
Next week, when foreign affairs takes the centre stage again, you will see that the poll numbers will favour the Repubs again.

OK... the Acorn effect will be worst in small-ish states. You can only fake so many votes (unless you are in Philly). So NM is a prime candidate for theft.
I'd say Wisconsin is another.
NY and NJ are only in play because the averages got down to "only" a 5 point or so Obama lead... if that's really "in play" then all the presumably "safe" states with small margins are, too.
Nothing real we can tell right now. Long way to go.

NJDC Calls for Withdrawal of Palin Invitation to Iran Rally
Monday’s protest against Ahmadinejad is too important to be tainted by partisanship. Unfortunately, the campaign of Senator John McCain is much more interested in scoring political points than insuring there is bipartisan solidarity around the anti- Ahmadinejad efforts. Therefore, we call upon the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations to withdraw the invitation to Governor Sarah Palin and we applaud Senator Hillary Clinton’s decision to not attend the rally after the attendance of Palin was announced.By withdrawing Palin’s invitation, the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations will be able to return the focus to America’s outrage towards the genocidal musings and nuclear ambitions of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

It started with Jack Cafferty on Monday, followed by Sebelius' ridiculous "Has anyone noticed that he is black?" (no, not one single person had, Kathy), and is coming on strong right now.
It's ridiculous. The Dems do this every time too. They choose the wrong guy to head their ticket, and then start to look for excuses as to why they don't win.

Great post at Israpundit
I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
Revelation 2:9In his book, “Why the Jews?”, Dennis Prager describes in chapter 5 such anti-semitic Jews as Noam Chomsky, Norman Finkelstein as well as Karl Marx and Trotsky. He describes them as alienated from their Jewish roots as well as from their surrounding society. These Jewish radicals have embraced and cause general antisemitism. It is shameful to learn that in their zeal to accomodate the socialist (Hillary) and embrace the Communist (Barack Obama) the NJDC has cut with a double edged sword.
With one stroke, they have diminished the solidarity of both parties in standing with Israel and the Jewish People against the modern Haman and they have insulted a friend of Israel, Sarah Palin. They have allowed Hillary’s narcissism to interfere with the mission. Not only did Hillary refuse to share the stage with Sarah Palin, but now her fans have caused the organizers to disrespect the Governor of Alaska. It must be confusing to a righteous gentile to be disrespected by the very people to whom she feels indebted for her Bible (the NT was written by Jewish followers of Yeshua) and their savior. She also would embrace Genesis 12:3 “I will bless them who bless you and curse those who curse you”. In seeking to bless and support the Jewish people she has been rejected by the Jezebel spirit, who lived at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for 8 years!
It should be noted that in 2007, John McCain was the only candidate for President who spoke at the Washington Christians United for Israel Summit. That was at the nadir of his campaign and he was considered all but out of the running. But as per Genesis 12:3,by standing for Israel, even with the ambushed Pastor John Hagee, John McCain was blessed with the favor of the Almighty! His choice of Sarah Palin was another pro-Israel signal as well as pro traditional Judeo Christian values.
Michael Savage ( a Jew ) has denoted liberalism to be a mental disorder. Insofar as the Jewish soul detached from G-d quickly seeks to fill the void with a humanist idolatry, the Jewish leftist radical is doubly damned. Condemned by his society and by a just G-d.
The insanity of the Democratic party embracing Obama has infected usually benign liberal Jews with an unclean spirit. As Joe Lieberman said at the 2008 CUFI Summit in Washington this summer, I didn’t leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me. This is not the party of JFK, LBJ, Harry Truman (the first to recognize Israel and usher her into the family of nations). Barack Obama has functionally disabled the democratic party and destroyed a true two party system in this country.
Whom the gods would destroy, they first drive mad. The doomocrats combined with the guilt ridden liberal anti-Israel Jews in Israel, are insane enough to frustrate even the Almighty as He seeks to fulfill His everlasting, unconditional covenant with Abram, through Isaac, Jabob and the Nation of Israel.

Quite so.
Personally, I think Obama's team leaned on Hillary, and she caved in. A lot of her supporters visibly jumped ship this week (Rothschild, Trump, John Coales -- Greta van Susteren's hubby!), and they wanted to rein her in.

I recently blogged about this, that she was in Florida campaigning for Obama this week. One of my readers said, doesn't that say it all -- IN FLORIDA.

I'd like to visit the Roosevelt house at Sagamore Hill. I've seen a short commercial on AFN about 1,000 times and it looks like a worthwhile place to visit.
AFN (Armed Forces Network) is commercial free TV and radio. It keeps the cost down to near nothing for AFN to broadcast TV shows, sports, and movies. The deal is that the networks give the programing away for next to nothing in return for a ban on commercial advertising. To fill the gaps, AFN self-produces community interest and safety commercials. Mostly they're awful acting, but some are funny anyway. My favorites are the State Capitol and Historical landmark spots.

re: #409 realwest
Hello dorian, glad to hear you're doing well - I'm doing ok, but I woke up this morning at about 6 or so, and was freezing (was only sleeping with a sheet over me and the outside temp was like 57 degrees) and both of my kneecaps HURT! Now that I don't get at all (they are fine now). LOL!
Sore knees?
Just what WERE you doing last night realwest?!?
