Networks Throw Tantrum, Demand Access to Palin's Meetings

Politics | Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 9:18:39 am PDT

The alphabet networks had a little tiff with the McCain campaign today, when the campaign tried to limit their access to Sarah Palin’s meetings with foreign officials: Sarah Palin Meets World Leaders — Reporters Kept Away?

There’s a battle going on right now over how the networks will be allowed to cover Sarah Palin’s big day of visits in NY with world leaders. ... The networks had arranged for a “pool” camera- one camera to cover the meetings, whose video would be pooled or shared with all networks. Such arrangements are standard when dealing with intimate high-level meetings between leaders and candidates. But typically, along with cameras, there is an editorial presence— at least one print reporter, one TV reporter and one radio reporter is standard. Today, the McCain campaign had said it would allow only one editorial person inside. Now, the campaign is saying it wants only the camera inside with no editorial presence. All of the networks are objecting. Stay tuned.

The networks have voted to BAN any use of the photographs/video in protest.

12 Noon update:  Word has come in that a CNN producer WILL be allowed to accompany the camera at these meetings.  This issue appears to be resolved.

Meanwhile, the networks are having no trouble getting access to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He’ll be Larry King’s special guest on CNN tonight. Retch.

No wonder their ratings are in the tank.

If they are just photo-ops, for which she could and would be criticized, then the Press comes in. If they are meaningful encounters, not Logan Act violations thank you very much, but chances for serious people to get to know each other in which the privacy of and respect for our guests would make it appropriate to have a closed session, then the Press stays out. Same as it ever was.

Umm... and where was the media when Obama was talking to Iraqi politicians trying to derail the US/Iraqi security agreement negotiations?

48 karmic_inquisitor  Tue, Sep 23, 2008 9:26:18am

Not that they complain about access to Obama, who is kept away from the press by his handlers and has been known to simply walk out of press conferences when he gets flustered.

And the problem is even worse with foreign journalists (from WaPo):

Snubbed by Obama

Barack Obama is on his way to Europe, where an adoring public awaits. But I wonder if the reception would be quite so enthusiastic if Obama's fans across the Atlantic knew a dirty little secret of his remarkable presidential campaign: Although Obama portrays himself as the best candidate to engage the rest of the world and restore America's image abroad, and many Americans support him for that reason, so far he has almost completely refused to answer questions from foreign journalists. When the press plane leaves tonight for his trip, there will be, as far as I know, no foreign media aboard. The Obama campaign has refused multiple requests from international reporters to travel with the candidate.

As a German correspondent in Washington, I am accustomed to the fact that American politicians spare little of their limited time for reporters from abroad. This is understandable: Our readers, viewers and listeners cannot vote in U.S. elections. Even so, Obama's opponents have managed to make at least a small amount of time for international journalists. John McCain has given many interviews. Hillary Clinton gave a few. President Bush regularly holds round-table interviews with media from the countries to which he travels. Only Obama dismisses us so consistently.

McCain needs to get his message out. They are trying to kill him by choking off access to the public. That is why the NYT refusing to print McCain's Op-ed piece was a turning point.

60 lawhawk  Tue, Sep 23, 2008 9:27:23am

Of course they'll roll out the red carpet for Ahmadinejad. And I'm sure that someone will snag an interview with [T]hugo Chavez in short order. They'll fight to get that interview.

While I understand how and why McCain wants to limit the numbers of media at these meetings, I think it's a good idea to have as many outlets in the room - to report on each other's statements - since we've repeatedly seen the media dowdify statements and just plain make stuff up when it comes to the McCain/Palin ticket.

After all, if you don't have your own camera in the room to tape what everyone else is doing, how can you be sure what is reported. If you've got several reporters in the room, you get different emphases, and you expose the bias among the reporters.

Since these 'reporters' are all singing from the same songsheet anyway (called 'Oh ba ma mio' ...), and are looking for anything they can make out to be a huge mistake by SP, rather than reporting what actually happens - one is quite sufficient!

Did Obama have that when he met with the Iraqi FM or PM to suggest they hold off doing anythng until after the elections?!

Well, think of what happens when the president meets with a foreign dignitary. You will often see video on the evening news of the president and his guest sitting in wing chairs, with the press arrayed around them asking questions. Then the press all leave and the real meeting begins. Or the meeting is first, and then the press come in. There's often a public portion to all such meetings.

But Palin isn't the president, she's a candidate. If she and McCain were meeting the dignitaries together, then it would make sense to have a public portion of the meeting. But I honestly don't see why when it's just her.

Hey realwest - Obama has built a wall around himself and denies press access regularly. I posted 2 links upthread that demonstrate Obama's insulation. I think the MSM knows he is a gaffe-O-matic and go along with it to protect him. They hate Sarah Palin, so they use a different standard on her.

Since 2007, one California family reportedly bought and sold 43 properties with the help of at least 43 mortgages from Washington Mutual that added up to a total of nearly $25 million.

Now, the lender is likely to take a $2.7 million bath on six problem properties among the 43 transactions concerning Vijay and Supriti Soni and other family members, reports the Orange County Register.

I agree with your argument. I'm just fed up with the media's expectation of privilege. Like the WaPo editorial I linked to above, there's a belief that the candidates owe the media something. Yes they'll say that the candidates owe the public accountability, but they are referring to themselves. After all they're the final arbiters of all that's good and just in the world.

Good news folks. Dan Rather's $70 million lawsuit against CBS/Viacom can proceed.

Gammerman said on Monday that Rather can sue over claims that the network damaged his reputation when it fired him. But Gammerman said the newsman cannot sue CBS Corp. for fraud, or the one-time parent company Viacom Inc. on claims it interfered with his contract.

Rather’s attorney Martin Gold told Bloomberg: “I think the breach-of-contract claim is essentially a slam dunk, there’s no defense to that.”

James Quinn, a lawyer for CBS, told the news agency he intends to ask the judge for a pretrial ruling dismissing the remaining breach-of-contract and breach-of-fiduciary duty claims against CBS after depositions and discovery have been completed.

Rather's attorney is a nitwit if he thinks that Rather has a valid claim here. His reputation was destroyed through no fault of anyone else at CBS News except his own. He sought to throw the election with running a bogus TANG story (cue the throbbing memo), and then engaged in stonewalling and a walkback but never admitted that the story was bogus. That he's still working in the industry is a testament to the fact that there are more than a few leftists who have no problem with running propaganda instead of straight news.

Still, this does give yet another opportunity to run discovery and take depositions.

I'm watching, in fascination, a block of houses purchased by an Indian. One is orange-tagged abandoned (I watched the renters move out on Christmas day); another two got eviction notices - one to the utter shock of the tenants, who had no idea, the other of whom evidently had been squatting. The final family is moving; the oldest daughter told me that they also had no idea that their landlord was no longer their landlord! They're not waiting for an eviction notice, or anything else.

So your description of this story is "Networks throw tantrum...". Trying to get legitimate journalistic information is "throwing a tantrum." Hmm, where were you when Mccain threw a tantrum at CNN when their reporter asked somewhat critical but legitimate, fair questions related to the Sarah Palin choice that nervous spokesman Tucker Bounds couldn't answer? Or "threw a tantrum" with a petulant "NEXT QUESTION" when a reporter, at a press conference, gave her name and affiliation before trying to ask a question, and he realized she was a "bad" reporter since she wrote an article he didn't like. It seems that Mccain wants only positive coverage of him and his campaign aired, 100%, and throws a tantrum otherwise. So limiting access if it has the potential to raise information detrimental to your campaign, and throwing tantrums when reporters do their jobs but happen to reveal information you don't like is absolutely fine with you. But news networks trying to do their job equals throwing tantrums. Got it.

We need a thread on slow Joe Biden's quote about a President Roosevelt appearing on TV in 1929.

He didn't...

From NRO (and I think they are linking to someone else, but I read this a couple of different plances)

Joe Biden's denunciation of his own campaign's ad to Katie Couric got so much attention last night that another odd note in the interview slipped by.

He was speaking about the role of the White House in a financial crisis.

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed," Biden told Couric. "He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'"

As Reason's Jesse Walker footnotes it: "And if you owned an experimental TV set in 1929, you would have seen him. And you would have said to yourself, 'Who is that guy? What happened to President Hoover?'"

But - aside from these speculators - the fact is that the Community Redevelopment Act, passed as requested by Jimmy Carter and "refurbrished" and signed by a Dem Congress and then President Bill Clinton is responsible for these banks and their holding of the subprime mortgages.
The FDIC USED to prohibit any morgage loan where the buyer didn't have either at least 10% down and Private Mortgage Insurance (see, e.g., AIG) or 20% down in the buyer's own money.
Clinton changed all that with his changes to the CRA.
So we got all of those damned 100% financing mortgage loans - estimated by the National Mortgage Lender's Association as 45% of all mortgage loans made in the last 10 years.

It's interesting to see how the FBI has worked on this case. First, they contacted Yahoo and obtained account records. They then worked with ISPs to obtain DNS information. Iran alleges assassination plot

The Iranian president and his Iraqi counterpart have held reciprocal visits

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said there was a plot to kill him during a trip he took to Iraq in March, Iranian state radio reports.

Mr Ahmadinejad implied that the United States and its allies were behind the alleged plot to kidnap and kill him.

The president made the comment during a meeting with clerics in the Iranian city of Qom.

He said his country's "enemies" had their plan foiled by last minute changes that were made to his schedule.

During the two-day visit, President Ahmadinejad cancelled a scheduled trip to the cities of Najaf and Karbala, citing security reasons.

An American spokesman in Iraq said the United States was unaware of any threats to the president's life.

And then there's this gem:

Former Mossad chief: Assassinate Ahmadinejad

Iranian president 'says he wants to die a martyr so he should be sent to heaven,' Meir Amit says

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad should "be made to disappear from the arena," Meir Amit, a former director of Israel's Mossad intelligence agency, advocated in an exclusive interview with WND.

Amit, one of the most esteemed figures in the Israeli intelligence establishment, said while he was director of the Mossad from 1963 to 1968 he regularly argued against the assassination of world leaders. But he said the case of Ahmadinejad is different.

Ahmadinejad: Israel won't dare attack us / Dudi Cohen
In interview with Spanish newspaper during visit to South America, Iranian president says, 'They are aware of Iran's strength. I believe they won't do such a stupid thing.' He reiterates Israel will vanish 'like Soviet Union,' doubts Holocaust

"Ahmadinejad is the pusher of all the Muslim world toward fanaticism and extremism. In his case, he should be made to disappear from the arena. He has said he wants to become a shahid, a martyr, so I think he should get his wish and be sent to heaven," Amit said.

re: #222 Mr. Sandman

Got it.

If this is really your opinion you should write your candidate and tell him of the expectations that you have that he is failing to achieve. Obama refuses open forums completely - let alone being open to questions on his true, personal views.

If he actually has any true, personal views at all, that is.

You're a simple Partisan with no real objectivity. Your post reads like a form letter.

Sorry jcm, as good as that link was, the folks who are being bailed out by "the bailout" are plain old ordinary working folks (for the most part) who's entire retirement/savings/IRA/401's are invested in things like Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac/Lehman/Goldman Sachs/AIG and the stupid effin banks.

Thanks, I realize the individuals (should have been clearer) are getting a bailout, but the mess they made for the lenders (who let them do it) is.

Add to that lenders who are allowed to self certify loans as federally insurable and you end up with a pool of banks that constantly write/buy and foreclose properties to keep their funds in a higher interest return. Ironically part of the whole Fannie/Freddie thing was to buy bad loans to keep the money circulating and the market from stagnating. Instead it became a key to the treasury from for lenders to freely use at the expense of everyone else. Rush misses this point while bashing Dems and blaming the victims and when he does blame the victim rather than the fraudulent flippers and predatory lenders he sounds more like a partisan hack Dem than an anti-idiotarian...

Larry King will set up questions that do nothing more than give Dinner Jacket a platform to air his worldview and contradict criticisms.

With the way the question is worded, Larry can claim he is hitting DJ with the criticisms.

After reading the snit by Ben Smith of "The Politico" last night, I left reminded that in this political season the 4th estate has done the American public a disservice.

After the Iraq War started, the 4th estate spent months before they finally decided that maybe they were vigilant enough with their reporting running up to the war.

In this election, the 4th estate repeats it's error by falling into the same trap.

Fool me once, shame on you
Fool me twice, shame on me

In this election, the 4th estate has actually allowed one of the candidates to write his own narrative, based on two auto-biographical books, that is full of holes for large time sequences.

Today, with only 40 some days remaining till the election, a bit of one of those 4 year holes is filled in, but much is still left unknown.

Will the 4th estate be contemplating their navel for that time or will they begin to ask the questions that will give the American people a complete story ?

Not only does the future of their craft stand in balance, the future of the country demands better.

If they are not up to the challenge .. we will look elsewhere.

Hold on. What on earth do CBS, MSNBC, ABC and CNN have to do with "legitimate journalistic information"? They are not out to report "legitimate journalistic information", they are out to spread disinformation and smears on Palin to a degree unprecedented even in their eight years of derangement over George W. A large portion of Americans feel people like A-jad and Chavez are respectable world leaders. People in the MSM like King will never reveal them for what they are because then their viewers would be forced to become more pro-American and pro-freedom. I've been suggesting that Biden will be thrown under the bus ever since we started seeing the left ask when Palin would be dropped from the ticket (projection and all).

First, Obama will have to find an excuse to drop Biden that doesn't make Obama appear to have exercised bad judgement in selecting Biden.

Second, Obama will have to find a replacement that won't negatively affect his chances in the election.

Open Letter to Larry King (formerly Zeiger)

You are older and your ratings are not so good. That young upstart Rachel Maddow at the network nobody watches (MSNBC) is even kicking your butt in the ratings. If your career is a round of golf, you are lining up a putt on the 18th green. You are inches away from being off the air. I am sure you are on your final contract.

Tonight you have a chance to make a lasting statement that will help people remember what a giant you were in the media. You can do the American public and even the whole world a huge service by taking off the gloves and challenging the iranian puppet/prez. Ask all the tough questions (Lizard Nation can provide a partial list if you'd like). As one of your final huge moments, make your old friends in Williamsburg proud. Do something great for your people from the neighborhood, your countrymen from red states and blue states, and show the world what this man is all about. Forget politics. Put your country first.

Just one time ...

Thanks ... RTC

This Larry King thing is simply disgusting! You should let CNN & Larry King Know! (Larry King Contact Form)

Achmadinejad is a violent dictator, who among other things, often calls for the destruction of the United States, and is actively working to "wipe Israel off the face of the map" by shrugging off U.N. sanctions and building a nuclear arsenal.

He is presently sending people into Iraq to train terrorists, and attack our U.S. troops! In addition, his regime's treatment of homosexuals, women, and political dissidents is internationally accepted to be deplorable.

I am extremely disappointed that Mr. King and CNN are going to give this generation's Adolf Hitler a gigantic audience to propagandize to, and otherwise attempt to justify his hatred and genocidal intentions.

Having worked in Television, I understand the importance of ratings, but sometimes morality and social responsibility needs to come first.!

They could make up a fake health scare, based on his history of brain aneurysms, but I don't think folks would buy it. Doing it after October 2nd, no matter what the stated reason, clearly makes it look like he tanked in his debate against the Mighty Sarah. I am quite sure she'll make moose hash out of him, and the MSM will claim he was statesmanlike or whatever. But any way you look at it, dumping Biden appears to be the act of a desperate campaign.

I'm on SSDI - and I get at LEAST two credit card offers in the mail every damn month - but credit card debt is at, usually 17%-20% and frankly I don't give a damn if the issuers of these credit cards get burned badly by this mess.

The movie "The Contender" is on HBO2E right now. Here's the summary, let me know if you think this sounds familiar:

After his Vice-president suddenly dies, the President (Jeff Bridges) who is near the end of his final term, decides to leave a legacy by selecting a woman to fill the position. Enter a Senator (Joan Allen), who has shifted from the Republican Party to the Democratic [sic]. Initially appearing to be the perfect candidate, an allegation suddenly appears that she had been involved in a sexual orgy as a 19 year old in college. The confirmation committee chairman (Gary Oldman), a Republican, leaks the information to the press, while using the press discussion as a forum to bring it into the hearings.

So, almost the exact opposite of reality, huh. Democrat woman abused horribly in the press by evil Republican politician. One difference, apparently this woman in the movie did actually engage in something sordid in her youth, unlike Palin, about whom lies akin to this have been made up out of whole cloth.

In the Hollywood version, the female VP pick is a heroine, for sticking to her guns and not answering questions about her past. In the real world, Hollywood has been on the front lines in spreading rumors and lies about the female VP pick, not championing her for standing up for herself or refusing to answer ridiculous speculations.

Enough to give you a headache trying to make sense of it. I recommend not bothering to try.

If Hillary stepped in now she would be more important than Obama. And that cannot happen.
I also find the threats of black riots interesting. The "if Obama does not win, the cities will burn" threat is hardly persuasive. No party will nominate a black candidate for 20 years should that occur.

I am sitting here thinking of all of the great vacations I didn't go on in order to put money away, and now that money is shrinking for the same reason - because of the people who would refi every year to pull out all their equity and spend it. Well, no, not really. Mind you I DON'T WANT STUDENT LOANS and CREDIT CARDS added to the bailout package, but it's not the borrower's who are going to be given a free pass, it's the LENDER's who made/bought the Student Loans and issued the Credit Cards who are going to be protected.
This Bailout thing started as a good idea: prevent ordinary, old fashioned hard working Americans from having their retirement accounts/401's and retirement plans - who invested in the stupid greedy banks and investment house stocks from being burned and destroyed by this.
Now it's as if the government is sayin "Free Pass" to all the greedy mofo's who's demise will affect not one of the "working stiffs" in American. Unless of course you own stock in American Express, Master Card or Visa.

The instability of the financial system has been building for quite some time. There are no consequences for the borrower. Someone has to pay for this, and it's us, the responsible.

re: #404 rawmuse

If we let them collapse, then the whole economy may collapse with them. Yes, they have to bear the responsibility for their own stupidity, but keep in mind that a good bit of that stupidity was essentially mandated by the Federal Government. The Mortgage industry was strongly encouraged to give loans to people who could never be able to pay them back. In many cases, the loans were based on real estate values that had no reasonable relation to the true value of the property.

The housing boom was based on people borrowing too much money, buying too much house, and then furnishing it too lavishly (again, with money they didn't have). Now the piper has called for his pay, and nobody has the money to pay him.

There is really no "good" answer to this problem. The bailout will cost nearly a trillion dollars. But what would the cost be for a complete economic collapse? Simply letting Wall Street fall isn't an acceptable answer.

I don't understand how student loans are tied in with sub-prime mortgages.

In the 1966-67 year I tried to sit out a semester of college to re-evaluate majors.
Ended up (since that also involved dropping out of ROTC) being rated highly on the draft notice.
Countered by joining the Navy first.
Got out in '72.
Used up ALL my GI bill money on a 2-year degree.
Couldn't get a 4-year college loan ... no 'assets', too many defaulted college loans (most of whom had fled to Canada).

I equate (mentally) a sub-prime loan with a school loan for those reasons. I think we've digressed to the point where the risks are the same as they were 40 years ago, and the way I read the "risk assesment" part of any proposals, college loans qualify in the same manner as sub-prime mortgage lending.

Make any sense?

Not too many years ago, the Fighting Ninth in southwest Virginia was as democrat as you could get. Plenty of history of West Virginians crossing the ridge line to vote in the Ninth, just to make sure it stayed that way. Saw it happen. It's a measure of how ultra-left the donks have gotten that the coal counties have gone red. Now, the fraudulent voting has shifted northward, to the fleshpots of NoVa.

Look further back, realwest.

Listen to the endless drumbeat, "Oh, you poor baby! It's not your fault that you can't stop spending money! You have the right to screw your creditors!"

There are no consequences. Your credit rating doesn't keep the record of your bankruptcy or foreclosure past 7 years, and you can have that expunged, if you just whine enough!

This didn't happen over night. This isn't just about mortgages. It's about a notion of economic populism, protecting "the little guy" who's being hard-used by "big business". Or the banks. Or the credit card companies...or the trusts, or whoever.

There are lots of contributory causes. I'm not saying there aren't. But there's an unsettling - and much ignored - attitude (shared even here) that caused the underlying problem.

Yes I agree that a few emails and nothing else will not have much of an effect, but THOUSANDS of emails, along with angry (but polite) phone calls, and faxes, will probably get the point across.

I haven't had enough time to find a phonenumber to link here (no posting phone numbers), but if you find it I'm sure it would be helpful.

Direct Emails in the thousands to the CEO of CNN or a parent company would probably go far also.

The dems have been blocking FOX NEWS at every turn. They have even admitted to it. Now that FOX news has all the numbers it is getting more difficult to ignore them.

The McCain / Palin decision is for these meetings only, and not an over all policy. I can see where they would not like these turned into a circus.

The tantrum is the behaviour of banning coverage if they don't like the terms.

I don't think there's a graceful way to do it unless Biden actually dies (which I am surely not wishing for).

And don't forget Biden is currently running for re-election for his Senate seat.

If he drops out because of "health" reasons, that would either cause him to forfeit his seat, or at least open it up to become a competitive race.

I don't think Biden is going to want to play along that way.

Coal has a stigma (eg Coal miner's daughter).

The real estate values in Calif. are going to drop 50% to 70 % in the next five years, Calif. has topped the ponzie scheme and slides down the slope fast. Taxes are going to go up 10% a year. Spending will have to be cut
10% per year. Crowded or not crowded.

It's starting to feel like 1994 after the big quake when real estate was completely upside down - having a $200,000 mortgage on a home that was only worth $34K because of damage or being red-tagged (our home is a couple of miles from from the epicenter).

Young woman: Senator, wind and solar are flourishing here in Ohio, so why are you supporting ...

Biden (with both hands on her shoulders): We're not supporting king coal. Guess what? China's building two every week, two dirty coal plants, and it's polluting the United States. It's causing people to die...

Woman: So will you support wind and solar [unintelligible]..

Biden: Absolutely, before anybody did. The first guy to introduce a global warming bill was me, 22 years ago. The first guy to support solar energy is me, 26 years ago. It came out of Delaware. But guess what? China's going to burn 300 years of bad coal unless we figure out how to clean their coal up, because it's going to ruin your lungs, and there's nothing we can do about it. No coal plants here in America. Build them if they're going to build them, over there. Make them clean, because they're killing you. See ya. Thank you.

May I summarize?

They can take our offshore oil but those evil US corporations cannot; they can build dirty coal plants, but we won't have any new coal plants here at all (and of course no nuke plants); we are well paid elitists*... and you're going to die, and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. --democrats

* Biden elitism - Obama too smart & well educated for you to relate to

re: #593 J.D.

I thought AIG had to repay the loan pretty fast, and first---before profits...that it is essentially a "bridge" loan.
I actually know someone on the board but I haven't spoken to her since all this went down.
See:
The Real Culprits In This Meltdown

I have heard that one of AIG's problems is that it was not reserving at all for it's subprime mortgage insurance......major insurance no-no, not to mention just plain stupid.....but just as bad....that might not have been illegal.

....but I do not have corroborating evidence, so for now it's just a rumor.

Why would the press want to be in meetings with Palin when they can just make up whatever they want anyway, and will. Oh yeah, it makes it look like they know what they are talking about.

Mr. Ahman..oh whatever, is a big fan of prophecy.

Mr. King can ask him for his thoughts on Israel as a migration nexus for probably the world's largest number of flesh eating raptor species.

re: #529 WrathofG-d

Thank you. That is great to hear.

I hope that others do the same.

Thank you so much for providing the Link.

To Larry King:

How sad that you lend your credibility, your influence, and a platform on prime-time program on "the most respected name in news" CNN to this enemy of the United States. This man is the face to the shadowy network of terror operatives worldwide. He is the face that represents the death squads and bomb makers killing our people in Iraq, in Afghanistan, and thousands of other innocent people in countries all around the world. He is working to establish the Islamic Caliphate, and he has repeatedly called for Death to America.

You should be ashamed, CNN should be in disgrace. Would you have invited Himmler or Goebbels to address us on our own airwaves? You're far worse than Tokyo Rose. Shame to you.

Here's what we're bailing out with the mortgage bailout.

They must have been watching the same infomercial I saw a few months back and sent in their $150 for their "Real Estate Secrets" guide and DVD.
Any infomercial that comes on at 3 AM I ignore.

Good to hear that the highly touted MSM is still doing their best to foist the Messiah and his leftwingnut BS on the general public . . . F__k em if they can't take a joke!

The smell of leftwing flopsweat is growing by the minute.

673 Tilly  Tue, Sep 23, 2008 1:27:38pm

Well I am sure that Fox will be happy to scoop them and send the MSM ratings in to the tank further....

Oh wait MSM have already hit rock bottom, I guess that is how they got to cover the Olympics!

Greta's husband worked in some capacity for the Clintons. I forget what at the moment. She HATED THE ONE'S Convention speech and said she thought it was weak. Greta has been genuinely angry about the personal attacks and seems to be conveying to the Dems this is a stupid way to go after the opposition. I think she does not like THE ONE. She deserves a lot of credit for going after some really bad dudes!

What I think is hysterical is that Greta is going to have BILL CLINTON on tonight at the same time Imajerk is going to be on CNN! I wonder how many more points Obama is going to lose after Bill's appearance tonight on Greta? LOL!

As to Gov. Palin not having the terrorists, I mean media, allowed to be in on these meetings, it could be they are throwing this tantrum due to her RNC speech where she alerted them that she was not going to Washington to seek their approval. LOL! It could also be that these foreign leaders did not want them present during the meetings. Look at what the NYT is like when it comes to keeping important stuff hush-hush! With Imajerk in country, they could be discussing Iran and the dangers of their countries and what they want to work out with McCain is solving the issue of those pesky terrorists. I say keep them going nuts. Since they have not been successful in Alaska with those 30 plus lawyers I guess this is the next step in attempting to take her down!

675 frank14  Tue, Sep 23, 2008 3:08:06pm

The MSM can't believe Sarah Palin doesn't want or need their approval. I just hope John McCain has learned his lesson from Chris Matthews and the NY Times that the lib media only love Republicans who criticize their own AND that aren't running against Democrats.

to mahmoud the only good Jew is a dead Jew. That makes me a bad Jew. Wolf Blitzer is also a Jew. Both of them are sellouts.

Sarah Pahlin doesn't owe those toxic left wing pit viper cannibals a ******* thing. Keep them at arms length and control their access.

In Farsi, Larry King Live probably translates as King Larry Lives!

I like how Rush refers to him sometimes: Larry King Alive!

Probably so, especially after their teeth fell out (along with their hair and maybe a couple of limbs)...

Networks Throw Tantrum, Demand Access to Palin's Meetings

I can see their point -- it definitely makes it more difficult to misquote her. Oh well, the MSM will just have to make shit up to use against her.
