Zombie's Denver Report Helps Clear Cop

Moonbats | Wed, Sep 24, 2008 at 4:55:18 pm PDT

You may remember Zombie’s report from the Denver Democratic Convention, covering an incident in which Code Pink was trying to claim police brutality: Zombie: Anatomy of a Video - Democratic Convention 2008.

Today the Denver district attorney announced that no charges will be filed against the police officer involved: Cop who shoved DNC protester to the ground cleared by Denver DA.

The district attorney’s office will not file charges against a Denver police officer who was videotaped shoving an activist to the ground at a protest during the Democratic National Convention last month.

On Aug. 26, CodePink activist Alicia Forrest, 24, and several others were asking police officers why they were arresting another protester outside Civic Center. Forrest said at the time that Officer Scott Stewart poked her twice with his riot baton. Stewart then pushed her with the long side of the stick once before yelling “back up, b——” and shoving her hard to the ground, where she lands with a scream and a loud smack. The final blow was captured by a Rocky videographer.

“A thorough review of all the evidence compels the conclusion that a woman failed to comply with repeated lawful police orders to move back,” said Lynn Kimbrough, spokeswoman for the Denver DA’s office.

“She then grabbed an officer’s baton, pushing it away. The officer pushed back, using the baton, and the woman fell to the ground. She was not injured. It was these facts that were considered in the decision.”

The only thing I got from the article that might possibly refer to our good friend Zombie is the following quote:

But Kimbrough said that the video clip wasn't the only evidence in the case.

Unless you have some other information that I don't have (which is of course a possibility) claims that has anything to do with Zombie is a bit gossamer.

I think the secretive one should get the Anti-idiotarian of the Year Award.

Oh sure there are "known" big name big shots that have the resources of the government or an institution at their disposal to carry on the good fight.

But think about it. Could anyone of those well known folks make the kind of impact Zombie does with a little palm size camera and big set of brass ones for no damn pay or any real fame at all?

We should all be grateful that the living dead is on our side. You can hear the moonbat heads explode when another view of their noxious fantasies goes up on the web.

re: #63 Silhouette

I have the same question.

Except that I believe Zombie's exposé consisted of photos, not video. The video in the report was what was on YouTube and was contrasted with the photo content.

71 zombie  Wed, Sep 24, 2008 5:24:18pm

re: #63 Silhouette

Not to be a killjoy, but how do we know the zombie video was used, looked at?

The Denver police requested to see all my material -- original videos, hi-res jpegs -- the works. I sent them everything. I also sent them a link to the LGF report. And finally, I sent them a "statement" summarizing everything I saw. The officer to whom i sent them said he was forwarding them to the investigators and to the DA's office.

Some of the wording of the DA's statement use the exact same turns of phrase I used in my statement. That's what cinched it for me: I know for a fact that my material was referenced in the decision, and I was one of the "witnesses" cited.

Furthermore, I was the only person who provided proof that Alicia Forrest was ordered to "stay back" -- since I sent them video of the that happening. That detail was cited in the decision as well.

72 WrathofG-d  Wed, Sep 24, 2008 5:24:22pm

Some more information on this event.

Seems that this incident was part of a youtube propaganda operation by the Rocky Mountain News itself. (in cahoots with Code Pink?)

More of the same video...all over Youtube. Conveniently ending at the time she got back up perfectly fine.

73 BlueCanuck  Wed, Sep 24, 2008 5:24:28pm

LANGUAGE WARNING ON 72

(sorry about the late warning)

77 Syrah  Wed, Sep 24, 2008 5:25:19pm

I think that this paragraph may answer a few questions:

Now that you’ve seen the whole story, look at the original video again. You can see that the Rocky Mountain News, or at least “George Kochaniec,” the videographer named at the beginning, purposely cut off the film at the exact moment before Alicia Forrest got up off the ground and walked away, perfectly healthy. The only possible explanation is that the RMN didn’t want the public to see that part, since it didn’t convey the proper impression. And Kochaniec says he didn’t witness the earlier part of the melee, so one supposes he didn’t have a full record of Forrest’s misbehavior. Hence, the resulting video and article in the Rocky Mountain News lacked the necessary context.

If the officer was going to be investigated with only the shortened clip that the vidographer/RMN had released previously, it would have made the officer appear in an a worse light than what the fuller length one shows on the news article about him being cleared.

If there was no other report out there contrary to Forrest's and Kochaniec's initial telling of it, it could have gone badly for the officer. But there was someone else there. There was another, more complete, version of events, Zombie's, that made the first version look . . . misleading.

Truth is that without your information, this guy probably would have been fired for political reasons alone (like the LAPD cops involved in the Pro-Illegal Invasion riot here in Los Angeles).

Ok, I know Zombie posted a great report exposing this farce but I don't see a reference to it in the article. Is that the "other evidence" they mention?

What am I missing?

See comment #71. I asked them not to name me by name, for security reasons. And I think they must have interviewed additional witnesses too.

The horses have shields over their eyes. What were the police anticipating the nut cases were going to do?

I think it's standard gear for horses now in large crowds. Up here in Toronto, down in the club district, we have mounted units that assist with the regular police. I have always seen the horses with the face shields. Just what you would call cheap insurance in protecting the horse.

That is frickin' cool. Way to go Zombie!

Just got off the phone with the old man (his tumor has shrunk, and the docs are not really sure anymore if he has cancer in his back, btw). He asked me about Sarah Palin, as he's developed a very bad opinion of her (he reads newsweek, Star Trib, watches CNN and occasionally gets some issues of WSJ when I go home to visit).

Did she really say she can see Russia from Alaska, and in what context. I told him I'd do a little digging on his issues and get back to him.

Yeah, she said that, but she went on to say that it gave her a better grasp of geopolitics by understanding how close the U.S. is to Russia, or something like that. But ABC edited that out.

Zombie's Denver Report Helps Clear Cop

No offense, but it's not clear they knew zombie's report even existed.

"A thorough review of all the evidence compels the conclusion that a woman failed to comply with repeated lawful police orders to move back," said Lynn Kimbrough, spokeswoman for the Denver DA's office.

"She then grabbed an officer's baton, pushing it away. The officer pushed back, using the baton, and the woman fell to the ground. She was not injured. It was these facts that were considered in the decision."

Inquiring minds want to know!

One of the KEY pieces of evidence that I sent to the Denver PD was the raw video of this scene I posted on YouTube (which was included in my report):

Denver Police tell protesters to "Get back!" during DNC arrest

Alicia Forrest is visible in the foreground as the police order her repeatedly to "Get back!"

There's no way she can claim she wasn't warned.

re: #77 Syrah

I think that this paragraph may answer a few questions:

If the officer was going to be investigated with only the shortened clip that the vidographer/RMN had released previously, it would have made the officer appear in an a worse light than what the fuller length one shows on the news article about him being cleared.

If there was no other report out there contrary to Forrest's and Kochaniec's initial telling of it, it could have gone badly for the officer. But there was someone else there. There was another, more complete, version of events, Zombie's, that made the first version look . . . misleading.

Yes -- you've hit the nail on the head. I was the only source of real facts in this case, aside from the distortions promulgated by the RMN and Code Pink. Without the videos and photos I provided, I may have been difficult for Officer Stewart to prove his side of the argument.

Secret Agent Z
(with apologies to Johnny Rivers)

Z’s a spook who leads a life of danger.
To everyone it meets, it stays a stranger.
With every move it makes,
A hundred pics it takes,
And they’ll be up on zombietime, forever.

Secret Agent Z!
Secret Agent Z!
They’re sending you to Denver;
We salute your bravery!

Flying into Denver airport, Sunday;
Surrounded by the riot squad on Monday.
Beware the pepper spray!
You’d better get away,
For there’ll be more freaks on display, on Tuesday.

Secret Agent Z!
Secret Agent Z!
Your mission: go to Denver,
Infiltrate the DNC.

Blogging from the Kos Tent with Dan Rather;
Z, don’t waste your time on moonbat blather!
Proceed with covert ops,
Steer clear of mounted cops,
And transmit all the intel you can gather.

Secret Agent Z!
Secret Agent Z!
You case the streets of Denver,
Under cloak of secrecy.

Anarchists and communists uniting;
Z finds photo-subterfuge exciting!
Though Denver’s far away
From San Francisco Bay,
Beneath the airport, there’s a safe-house waiting.

Secret Agent Z!
Secret Agent Z!
You fight for King and Country:
Lizard King and “LFG.”

Agent Z, you dutifully render
Photos of the mosque at Civic Center.
A brazen da’wa ploy:
Islamists being coy,
Enticing passing infidels to enter.

Secret Agent Z!
Secret Agent Z!
You show us all the news that
MSM won’t let us see.

Schmoozing with celebrities and Biden;
They don’t see the camera Z is hidin’!
Though glitterati shine,
Their judgment’s asinine:
Observe the one whose coattails they are ridin’.

Secret Agent Z!
Secret Agent Z!
You walk alone among them,
Photographing all you see.

Moonbats on parade in Mile High City;
Agent Z knows this will not be pretty!
Huge puppets lead the way;
All hail P&acircpier-Maché!
The moonbat march inspires only pity.

Secret Agent Z!
Secret Agent Z!
You shoot a poignant portrait
Of the fall of Liberty.

Thousands throng the Field of Invesco,
Worshiping the Chosen One, al fresco.
O Z, your mission’s done;
Now, from this madness run;
Return to Z-HQ in San Francisco.

Secret Agent Z!
Secret Agent Z!
A spy of unknown gender,
And unknown identity.

Ah, but you see, during medieval times, the Court Jester was no mere clown to entertain the court; rather, it was a highly respected and sometimes powerful insider position -- a combination of Poet Laureate and Presidential Advisor, in modern terms. The Court Jester's role was to construct paeans to the king that also were shrewd commentaries on current affairs. A very honorable title!

Just stopping in for a drive-by comment:

It's the small things that matter to individuals that really count in the long run.

Character is built, and displayed, in the small events of life.

Zombie,
... *salute*

Jolly good show, Zombie!

Way to go Zombie! You're a righteous individual.

Zombie is a national treasure, you killed two birds with one digicam. The leftwing Rocky Mountain agitprop 'reporter' who tried his best to slant the video of this occurrence and the leftwing Code Pinkos who tried to manufacture an instance of 'police brutality' by their own disruptive misconduct.

Kudos to Zombie!

Without an honest observer like Zombie willing to stand up and call shenanigans, I have no doubt this woman would be trying to bilk the city of Denver and the police department and this officer for everything she could get.

Good on Zombie!

Very good work, Zombie, a real mitzva.

I just came up with a great new idea for a video game. Riot Squad. Player is a police officer on a riot squad unit who has to defend sections of a city against various sorts of rioting moonbats: Code Pinkers, Black Block Anarchists etc. Points are gathered/lost by the appropriate/inappropriate use of force in various situations. Weapons are all crowd control devices: batons, pepper spray, tasers (you could have the moonbats yell "don't tase me bro!" when you zap them...LOL!) pepper ball guns etc.

This is the first time I seen this. Looks to me it was planned. Usually the politicians don't have baws to back their employees and will thus render employee to suspension. This then creates guilty in the eyes of juries with damages awarded in the millions. I wonder if there is a way to check if a person has filed suit.

re: #153 zombie

Well I'm praying for you. Be safe.
And if I ever end up in a protest march again.
"Don't Mace the Zombie" will be my sign.

I walked out of the Bon Marche in Seattle one cold December evening back in 1996 and right into a Pro Iraq anti America protest march organized by socialism.com.

My one and only.

I didn't get very far, yelling "Yeah F*** Bill Clinton, I hate him too!" That pretty much stopped the crowd around me. One of you doesn't look like all the rest. Oh no little short haired dude, we all love Bill Clinton it wasn't him that bombed Iraq it was the #%^@$$@#$ Navy~!

So needless to say, I really do feel for you, and really appreciate all your hard work.
