A shame McCain's too nice to say that.

Amen. Think what a better country we'd be today if GWB had asked Americans on 9/12/01 to give up a few of our comforts and bunker down for a long, long fight against our Islamic enemies. Instead, he told us to go shopping. We became even more of a consumer-based, non-saving culture than ever before.

Will GWB pay off my Visa, Discover cards and my other loans?

I'm okay with this because barry's a fish out of water on economics.

458 brickthruplateglasswindow  Fri, Sep 26, 2008 6:27:23pm

If Jim Lehrer thinks this is foreign policy...no wonder our country is in the position it's in. :(

459 DeliLama  Fri, Sep 26, 2008 6:27:29pm

Personally, I don't think McCain is doing that well here. He's not leading the debate. He's reacting.

Obama: "It's got things in there that you [McCain] want, like drilling offshore..."

Big gaffe.

Obama doesn't want offshore drilling? Well, he just admitted it.

472 Blackacre  Fri, Sep 26, 2008 6:28:14pm

Awful, awful, awful. McCain is losing it on unforceful errors. He's getting whacked and not giving it back. I'm disgusted at the moment.

Obama just went over the Big Government Laundry List. He rattled off all the goodies that he WILL be "giving" us, when asked about cost cutting. McCain is addressing the question, in contrast (more or less).

511 FrogMarch  Fri, Sep 26, 2008 6:30:20pm
What a wasted chance. McCain is stumbling now. But Obama says, “It’s just not true, it’s just not true.” But he never says how it isn’t true.
