Pat Condell: Welcome to Saudi Britain (Now Deleted by YouTube)

Video | Wed, Oct 1, 2008 at 12:37:54 pm PDT

YouTube has deleted Pat Condell’s latest video, for “terms of use violation.”

Which apparently means, “criticism of Saudi Arabia.”

So here it is again.

Pat had to be taken out back and shot. Holy and precious Euro-libs held the gun, radical Muslims pulled the trigger.

Free speech is a one way street for leftists. and radicals.

I assume jihadist snuff videos are still available, right?

6 Raven1  Wed, Oct 1, 2008 12:41:42pm

Don't criticize Obambi either!

7 lifeofthemind  Wed, Oct 1, 2008 12:41:58pm

The difference between the European dhimmi left and the Jews of Mitteleuropia in the 1940s is that when th e Jews were herded into the chambers they conducted themselves with more dignity. The bien pessants of the left are like chickens running around without heads wishing the trouble would just stop.

Seems to me they delete all his video's for criticizing islam. Funny world we live in. Free speech for me but none for thee.

13 Honorary Yooper  Wed, Oct 1, 2008 12:46:09pm

"Terms of use violation", my ass.

14 jaunte  Wed, Oct 1, 2008 12:46:18pm

Apparently Pat ran afoul of the terms of use detailed in the "YouTube Community Guidelines" section (which I'll provisionally title 'we encourage free speech, BUT...')

Per Youtube: "We encourage free speech and defend everyone's right to express unpopular points of view. But we don't permit hate speech (speech which attacks or demeans a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity)."

So according to YouTube, painfully accurate descriptions of the behavior of a certain religious group with tendencies to violent retribution are considered 'demeaning.'

I wonder what would have happened if he'd just used irony and facts to make his point. There are a few statements in there, such as all Saudi society being insane, that are unhelpful, although I personally wouldn't disagree with that.

32 amphibian  Wed, Oct 1, 2008 12:51:53pm

It's a pity that so many videos keep getting deleted from YouTube. We can assume that once Comrade^WSenator Obama takes charge, the YouTube administrators will not have to suffer the inconvenience of deleting so many videos -- because the videos' makers will all be in Happy Workers' Re-Education Camps.

/In America, you delete video. In USSR, video deletes you!

Amazon have the same terms of use for their customer reviews. And of course they use the so called 'hate speech attack on religion' to block any truthful statements about Islam...especially Mohammed. I tried posting two reviews of Tariq Ramadan's recent pernicious piece of propaganda on the desert psycho...one was a general relatively mild criticism of the book which got published and the other, which was more to the point, was a no holds barred rundown on Mohammed's twisted and sick trajectory on earth and that was blocked. They're scared.

Here's an interesting fact about sharia law:

A woman's rape is frequently the last act that precedes her execution. This is explained by the rule in Iranian political prisons that the sentence of execution cannot be carried out if the woman is a virgin. Since there is a theological belief that if a woman dies a virgin she will go to heaven, the politically active virgin is forced to "marry" before her execution and thus to insure she will go to hell. She is forced to "marry" the hangman who will carry out her execution.

No, even President Bambi would find it hard to ban guns outright. But they would try to creep up through other means, e.g. the attempt by OSHA to get ammo classified as high explosives during the Clinton years (IIRC), so as to raise the dealer costs of storing it astronomically.

They might also turn the screw in regard to keeping weapons at home securely - make it nearly impossible to do so. It needs just one deranged shooter in one school and then it'll be easy, 'to save the children' ...

Neostalinists don' need to use a legal sledgehammer - they can squeeze the life out of anything by administrative orders, little step by little step ...

Fortunately, execution isn't something the sharia courts in Britain would sentence, but I'm wondering how they'll get around that. What if someone brought a woman into the court alleging she violated some sort of contract, the punishment of which would be death? The court could rule on the violation, and then hand over the victim to some other entity for (death) sentencing. That is, the court could be used in preparatory fashion for things it could not itself do if it had to be congruent with UK/EU law.

Is this possible?

Hi midwestgak - yeah, I know I'm preaching (ahem, make that bellowing!) to the choir here!

I've just finfished david Horowitz' book 'Radical Son' - the roots of this B0 disease are much much deeper, and this has been going for much longer than many people think: it goes truly back to the 1920s.

I hope to God he can be prevented - but there needs to be a deep clean of all those left ideologues in academia and local government - same as here in the UK.

Keep bellowing Yma. The scary thing about being on the ground here is that I rub shoulders with so many people who think OB is the answer. They could care less about where he is on issues. Which really doesn't matter if they believe him or not, he lies about where he is on the issues. Have you noticed how much his rhetoric has leaned center?

But then, I live in bluestate IL, in a Chicago suburb. In my office, out of 45 people, there are only 3 conservatives that I know of. I'll still be voting though.

They might also turn the screw in regard to keeping weapons at home securely - make it nearly impossible to do so.

That particular tactic would actually be hard (for now), because it was one of the specific points that was struck down in the recent Supreme Court Heller case. Washington DC did require guns to be kept either disassembled (nuts) or with a trigger or similar lock (which I have to admit, I think is, um, sensible). The Supremes said, no.

But the anti-gun left is always hard at work thinking up new ways to do an end-run around the 2nd Amendment.

re: #192 yma o hyd

The disease goes back into the late 19th Century with the Progressives. It did, however, get much worse when Woodrow Wilson was elected President. The first term wasn't bad, but the second term, after he promised not to enter WWI, was a doozy. After the entry of the US into WWI, certain activities became illegal. You could be prosecuted for publishing an article critical of Wilson, the federal government, or the war effort. Newspapers were shut down for that. Neighbors reported on neighbors of seditious activities. Only, these seditious activities included simply being against the war. There were wheat-free days and meat-free days. These were enforced by various law enforcement officials after a tip from a neighbor. Kids were encouraged to turn in their parents (sound familiar?). And this was all in the name of making the world safe for democracy.

It then manifested itself after the war in the 18th Amendment, Prohibition. The same Progressives who planned in war and wanted to perfect humanity pushed it through. Prohibition was a classic case of Progressive unintended consequences. They never did learn that one cannot perfect humanity.

If it is any consolation, a certain Italian socialist rather admired the Progressives and Wilson. He later would be an inspiration to collectivists in countries around the world, such as Germany, Argentina, and others. Many of his photographs would bear a strange resemblence to those of a presidential candidate taken eight decades later.

I'll still be voting though.

re: #269 Honorary Yooper

Yep - and isn't it amazing that they still use these self-same propaganda techniques, albeit in a modern guise ...
Humanity cannot be perfected - but the human mind can be manipulated quite nicely, especially if corralled into a 'mass' ..

re: #31 maddogg

I predict the Islamists will delete Pat Condell in the near future.

It can happen quite easily. All it takes is for one Imam to see this video and make it his mission to get Pat deleted.

He will travel around various mosques in places like Saudi, Nigeria & Pakistan and ask their Imams to help get the ball rolling. They won't watch the video. They wouldn't understand it even it they did watch it and they wouldn't care what it was about either way.

This was how a Danish Imam got the Mohammed cartoons banned - even though one of the "cartoons" he showed to the Imams around the world was actaully a photo of an entrant in a French "pig impersonation" contest and not a cartoon at all.

If the Imams feel it's a good time for another anti-West riot season, the case to "delete Pat" will be taken up.

Then - after Friday prayers and a bloody good geeing up - the locals will take to the street with pre-prepared effigies that look nothing like Pat and cheap, hand drawn union flags to burn.

The rioting will spread across the world. People will get killed and Pat will have to follow Salman Rushdie into hiding.
