I won't give Ol' Plugs a pass on using his dead wife and child in a political debate, then tearing up on it, because he specifically and purposely brought the "issue" up to garner sympathy and win political points....it is incredibly crass and classless every time he does it.

Biden, by invoking the ghosts of his dead wife and child in this way, has shown he is nothing but a craven and contemptible snake...

Biden sure looked like the long-time insider. Palin must give them all panic attacks.

Who in the McCain campaign decided to defang Sarah? She should have ripped Obama constantly. The biggest tragedy would be Obama being elected period. She just backed off and went for the folksy mom vote. She needed to go for the throat, not the heart. The only thing for the GOP is for McCain to rip Obama a new one in the next two debates. I don't think he has it in him.

McCain needs to bring out the steel.

I just love how Palin takes so much abuse from the MSM and everyone keeps counting her out and then she gets on stage and belts it out of the park. The woman is just amazing.

Now that Ron Paul isn't in the list, the crazy people have to do something with their time.

Biden has a problem, an emotional problem. It seems that he has yet come to closure regarding his wife's and daughter's death in the auto accident years ago. It must be eating him up if it affects him during a debate. How would it affect him in his future duties?

As a parent who has lost a son I know it is hard but I am at the point where I can talk about losing my son without choking up. It takes time, but 30 years is a bit much. Biden needs counseling help.

Palin did very well, I wish it were longer or have another.

I just want to thank Charles and all of you for being here/there through this shit - it makes me feel better to know there are many many more out in this country that still care about what makes it great.

I was spotty at watching it, but I think that Biden did what he needed to do.
He tells so many half truths that you don't know where to start at attacking.

Here are some things I wanted to hear but didn't:

Barack stopped Fannie and Freddie reform, along with the Dems
barack is the second leading receiver of campaign cash from Fannie and Fred
barack's advisors used to be CEO's of fannie and fred

A missed opportunity.

She is charming, but repeats words too often. I don't get the feeling that she knows the details of what she is talking about; but unlike the other side, I do believe that she has principles and adheres to them. I think she has a compass that guides her.

Is she too "next door" like for most people to vote for her?

The moderator sucked. No other word for it, sorry. Chick ought to never be allowed to do a debate again.

Biff, my only thought is that the McCain team is waiting to spring McCain on Obama. Palin is out there to secure the people who aren't looking for the strong attacks. That isn't reassuring, especially if McCain doesn't step up and start working him over.
