Gwenn Ifill lost all credibility when she called Governor Palin "dear" at the beginning. I used to like her on the MacNeill Lehrer Newshour, but she has lost her dignity in this. And Senator Biden is fantastically patronizing making faces, laughing at Governor Palin in alternation with seemingly trying to flirt with her. Nauseating to watch. Governor Palin is doing great.

I wish she could figure out a way to work Bill Ayers into the discussion. So much better if she brings it up than for McCain to MAYBE bring it up later in another debate.
If not now, when? I don't really see McCain going down that road next week or in the last debate.

Back at the beginning, when Ms. Ifill asked who caused the current situation, Governor Palin *still* didn't say anything about Pres. Clinton's people moving into Fannie Freddie, and the disasters caused by insider corruption and patronage. I know about corruption and patronage because of where I live. Israel is having a conniption fit over a level of corruption that wouldn't even be detectible where I live (good for them!). We're watching a train robbery in progress, including with the sudden "meltdown" and bailout/rescue.

Barack stopped Fannie and Freddie reform, along with the Dems
barack is the second leading receiver of campaign cash from Fannie and Fred
barack's advisors used to be CEO's of fannie and fred
A missed opportunity.

Yep, but tfk knew that already.
It has been decided since McCain won the Repub nomination that the border, the crime, the drugs, and the railroaded LEOs are non-issues.
All these problems are big-time national security issues, to my way of thinking. If a country doesn't control its borders and support those who wear its uniform in harm's way guarding its borders, its national security is in trouble.
So I'm being a bit optimistic I know, but I still have my fingers crossed: I think once McCain/Palin are in office, they will figure things out fast. No borders, no security. Same thing, I'm hoping, for the whole illegal immigration problem-- we have to get a lot tougher or we're looking at becoming a third-world country before we know it.
McCain/Palin (R) and good congresscritters like Tancredo (R) are our only chance. Forget the (D)'s, that's a disastrous report card grade, national security-wise in particular.

Palin did fine. Nothing spectacular, nothing dismal. I'm not disappointed nor am I changing my vote or staying home like some defeatists have been spouting.
Regarding those that say she sounded unsure of herself at times: I do think it's probably difficult to sound convincing repeating the talking points and platform of the top of your ticket when you may disagree with some of it.
I'll even say that Biden did fine with his audience. I don't buy a word that comes out of his mouth but his base will not be disappointed.
Frankly I don't know if this debate will help sway the so-called swing voters in either direction, if such voters even exist.
These "undecided" voters have to be the most ... well, if any of them are lurking, I don't want to insult them too much.
BUT FOR GOD'S SAKE, OBAMA IS A F*CKING COMMIE!
