OJ is Guilty!
He has long since overstayed his welcome. The sooner he's out of the public eye and into some sort of Punishment Zone - Hell, Jail, Limbo, whatever - the better off we all are.
Bye OJ, fuck off, stay off my TV, see you in hell.

After his original trial I thought to myself, you know maybe he actually is innocent. I even argued with people about it.

You can always make any statement seem wise and condescending, merely by appending the word "Grasshopper" to the end:
"You can’t step twice into the same river, Grasshopper."
"Would you like fries with that, Grasshopper?"
"Twenty bucks for a quickle, forty bucks for around-the-world, Grasshopper."
"You can't go into a Dunkin' Donuts or a 7-11 without hearing an Indian accent, Grasshopper."

I predicted this would happen to OJ back in about '95. I said then he would do something that would get him locked up; only it took longer than I thought. Partly a desire for punishment, I think.

Oh yeah, OJ is guilty! He implemented his "sting" to get back his "shit", and it backfired on him in a most spectacular way.
And he will receive no mercy from the judge in this case - she is a hard-liner as far as sentencing is concerned.
Lesson to be learned: One cannot assemble a group of gun-toting goons to accompany one to retrieve what one "feels" is one's "shit", and then claim innocence when one is hauled before a court of law.
Oh Happy Day!

GGT - here's the skinny:
Back in 1995 when the civil courts in CA awarded a 33 million dollar judgement to the families of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, it was made clear that all possessions of OJ were to be forfeit to them. OJ quickly divvied out his sports memerabelia (sp?) collection to friends and also to his agent at the time, Mike Gilbert, for services rendered.
Mike Gilbert eventually sold the articles OJ gave him (in payment for services rendered), to others. The ones who had them at the time of the "incident" were Al Beardsley and Bruce Fremong.
A year ago, in mid September, OJ went to Vegas to attend the wedding of a friend of his. While he was there, a smarmy small time dealer connected OJ with the Beardsley/Fremong group, with the understanding to the latter group that OJ wanted to buy back "his stuff".
Instead, OJ gathered a group of thugs about him, showed up at the pre-arranged hotel room, and proceeded to take the stuff they had in the room. The articles were originally OJ Simpson's things, but he had given them to Mike Gilbert as payment for services rendered as OJ's agent.
When two thugs brought out guns, it became a whole different game. That's what brought the big charges of armed robbery and kidnapping.

He can appeal, but I'll guarantee you he won't get anywhere. The judge in this case - Judge Jackie Glass - is a stellar jurist who has an excellent record. She knows her stuff, and she kept OJ's lawyers in check during the trial.

something like this :
A guy is out of town and he calls his brother to see how things are going. He asks about the house and all is fine, he asks about the cat, and his brother says " the cat died".
He responds " You don't give that kind of information like that, you say : The cat was on the roof, we called the fire department, and they responded we all tried and the cat died" That's how you relate information like that!
and then he asked : "How's Mom"?

Last Saturday the line was consistently out the door; people coming to make calls, get yard signs, bumper stickers, etc.Getting ready to see Palin tomorrow in Carson, Ca...! I AM SO EXCITED!

You can trust Rancher, but mainly trust the links. We source every thing we say, you choose if that link is from someone you trust. However time will tell what sources turned out to be reliable. Remember a few weeks ago when TX fried the Mexican citizen over W's objections? He didn't try to pardon the guy.
And the Supremes said everyone could p*ss and moan about it all they wanted, but Texas has the right to enforce Texas law no matter how the Pope, Europeans in general, and Mexico in particular felt about it.

"It's amazing: she's been thrust into the national spotlight with very little preparation and I think that, all things considered, you saw a very composed and effective debater last night."
Praise for Palin's debate performance aside, Clinton reiterated her support for her former Democratic rivals during the morning radio interview and said "the real issue is who is better for America."
Uh-huh. I believe you, Hill.

‘Politico’ Reporters Invade Arkansas; Blogger Unharmed
The money shot...
During the Q&A session, one woman prefaced her question with the announcement that “I get all my news from ‘The Daily Show,’” like that’s something to be all proud of.
Look, if you’re getting all your news from “The Daily Show,” or “The Colbert Report,” or “Rush Limbaugh,” or The Arkansas Times, or The Arkansas Project, and you go around telling people this like it’s a bragging point, you are an idiot. You probably should not be allowed to vote. You probably shouldn’t even be allowed to drive a car. In fact, you should probably have your mittens pinned to your jacket and have to wear a safety helmet everywhere you go.
I LOLed. Out loud.

McCain is a crusty old dog and those stripes aren't going to change. All that talk of OODA ....is that now forgotten? The way that he has been acting recently makes no sense at all unless it is seen thru that OODA scenario, and it's obvious as hell to me.
He is playing possum, biding his time until it's time to play his hand. This is a man who spent five years as a prisoner of war. Does anyone really think that he has suddenly lost his fire? His passion for the kill? That makes no sense. He is playing this masterfully, lulling Obama and ilk into thinking they are going to coast right on to victory and steal this country ...HIS country, right out from under his nose. Is there anything that we know about McCain that would support his allowing this to happen like a doddering old fool? NO.
There are two debates to go that I suspect will surprise many. I believe the fumbling McCain we are currently seeing and so disappointed in will come roaring back to life as McCain the Fighter, the Warrior. I believe in him.

I consider this author to be a fool, a twit, a charlatan, and someone that I'd not trust to look after either my pets or children in a pinch.
But it's hard to argue with this, and I think it well expressed.
Our political parties are corpses and democracy as we used to know it is quite dead
The cold, miserable truth is that both our major political parties are corpses, their original purposes long forgotten, their loyal members driven away or sidelined, their traditional voters taken for granted. Every so often, by a mysterious process, one of them is declared electable and the other is declared unelectable. And we, the voters, do as we are told. By whom? For what purpose?
He's talking about England and the Tories and Labour. But really, can't you apply the above paragraph to the Democans? Or Repubicats, if you prefer.

The conclusion of the above link. 'Cause some of youse don't click through.
The rule nowadays is that you cannot become the government unless you bow to the views of the ‘Centre-Left’ media elite, especially the broadcast media elite. That elite speaks for the 1968 generation which fanned out in the Seventies into the civil service, education, entertainment, the law, the arts, rock music and – above all – the media. We no longer have elections where two evenly matched parties go into a fair contest with competing ideas and it is over only when the last vote is counted. Instead, we have wild swings in which the approved party goes into the Election with a giant poll lead and then wins the Election with a mad, crushingly enormous majority over the unapproved party.
And the winner is always the ‘Centre-Left’, which claims to be moderate but is in fact a swirling cauldron of wild Sixties Leftism – anti-British, anti-family, anti-Christian, anti-education and pro-crime.
But if you dare to oppose this stuff, they’ll call you an extremist.
You'd think the dude was writing about Ahmurrica.

Yes. But this is a small thing when put into perspective. He loses nothing at this point by saying this (votes, from his base .....the alternative is Obama, remember) and at the same time he courts the climate change nuts. I don't like his stand on "climate change" either, but it's inconsequential at this stage. We all know what the alternative is.

Question for the stock market lizards.
If McCain gets elected do the markets go up because of his 'world global market views' and less taxes?

tom, remember how his video ads would pop out almost immediately in the last few weeks? His responses were lightening fast. He's shown us what he is made us, and what kind of team he has. They're still with him. He still has the heart of a warrior --- and a maverick. This is all for show and we are worrying a lot about something we should be confident about. He is playing to Obama's weakness .....his arrogance and sense of invincibility. The more puffed up Obama is the harder and farther his fall will be. That kind of thing is sweet music to someone like McCain.

One more thing on the OJ verdict.
I remember a scene out of one my favorite movies "Lawrence of Arabia" , one of Lawrence boys was lost in the desert and everyone told him to forget it, this boy was gone and it was "said" Anthony Quinn told him so. Lawrence went into the desert and rescued this boy. He told Anthony Quinn that nothing was "said". Later a killing took place that would break apart the alliance that Lawrence had put together. His boy had killed another and Lawerence would have to kill this boy to save the alliance. And he did so. After he shot the boy Anthony Quinn commented to another chieftain, "see I told you it was said".

Question for the stock market lizards.
If McCain gets elected do the markets go up because of his 'world global market views' and less taxes?
Or do they go down because of Obamas protectionism, Universal health care, and more taxes on business?
Will the government controlled Universal health care be good for markets or disaster?
/where to put what little money I have left?
The markets are going to be crappy now for quite a while. We did so much damage to the economy with all the screwing around in Congress that I think the down turn got extended 6 to 9 months.
all the fundamentals I see are pointed down.
What you can do with your money is divide it into 2 sections, the money you will need in less than 5 years, and the money you can lockup for 5 years or more.
The less than 5 year money put in insured CD's and treasuries. The over 5 year money you can put in the market for the long haul. Ultimately McCains policies would be better for the market than Obama's
But we are looking at a significant recession now. We are 13 months into a slowdown period and normally would be looking for an upturn right now. But with all the extra damage to the economy, it is going to be real slow going for a while. It will take another few weeks before the Treasury can start purchasing these toxic securities and the banks can start getting some breathing room on their books. Even then, after going through all this, I doubt that you will see a whole lot of lending activity from the banks for quite a while.
But that also means there are some bargains out there to be snapped up.

look how they describe the connection, almost happenstance;
"Twenty-six years later, at a lunchtime meeting about school reform in a Chicago skyscraper, Barack Obama met Mr. Ayers, by then an education professor. Their paths have crossed sporadically since then, at a coffee Mr. Ayers hosted for Mr. Obama’s first run for office, on the schools project and a charitable board, and in casual encounters as Hyde Park neighbors"

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin made considerably less money than rival Sen. Joe Biden, but the Palin family gave more to charity in the last two years than Biden has in the last eight combined, according to Palin's tax records released Friday afternoon.
In 2006, the Palins paid $11,944 in taxes on $127,869 in income. In 2007, they paid $24,738 on $166,080.
But in 2006, they donated $4,880 to charity, and in 2007, they donated $3,325.
By contrast, Biden (D-Del.), Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's running mate, has donated a total of $3,690 since 1998 despite his higher Senate salary, according to an analysis posted by National Review.

I'm doing pretty well over all, but I'm mourning the passing of our dog.
She was obviously not well Thursday after school, so I took her to the vet yesterday morning. She had lymphoma, and we had to put her to sleep yesterday afternoon. I'm so proud of my boys--they both stayed with her as she slipped away. I sat with my mom in the waiting room.
She was a terrific dog (and I'm not a dog person!). I think I'm also mourning all the changes of the past 10 years we had her.

At the official John McCain website:
[Link: www.johnmccain.com...]
You can transport your E-mail contacts and then send anyone you choose a personal e-mail explaining why you are endorsing John McCain on Nov. 4th and encouraging them to do so as well.
[Link: www.johnmccain.com...] ... eWord.aspx
Here's the E-mail I just sent to about 30 different people I know - I'm making this public use, so you can put them into your own words if you wish and send the letter to all your friends.
Quote:
I know you haven't heard from me lately, and I'm sorry about that.
I'm contacting you now because I've come to realize lately from the way things have been going in this country with $4 a gallon gas and now this $700 billion dollar bailout that's going to cost every man, woman and child in America that it's time for ordinary Americans to send a powerful message to Washington that their cozy little business as usual politics have to come to an end.
There's a Presidential election coming up in about 30 days. On November 4th we're all going to be asked to choose between two very different ideas about where this country should go from here.
On the one side we have Barack Obama, Harvard Law Grad, community activist, Senator from Illinois, still in his first term in Congress. Running with him is Joe Biden, Senator from Delaware and a 35 year Washington insider.
I know a lot of people are high on Obama right now. He does give a great speech. But I have looked at his resume and it is quite thin. He is campaigning as an advocate of change and reform.
Only as I study his past in the Senate and the Illinois State Legislature, I can't find any significant change or reform on this gentleman's back trail.
Instead, I find something that looks like a consummate Chicago Machine politician.
I would hope that a candidate who is running on a promise of change would have an actual record of change behind him, but it just doesn't seem to be there.
I've looked into Biden too, and he's an awfully likeable guy. But he also doesn't seem to have any record of change or reform behind him. 35 years in the Senate, if he were a reformer there would be some record of it.
Running against these gentleman we have John McCain and Sarah Palin.
The first thing I'd like you to remember about John McCain is that he's a genuine war hero. Doesn't that seem kind of strange now after the totally weird emphasis put on military experience during the 2004 election between Bush and Kerry? You know, the whole 'Hey there's a war on, let's see who'd be the best Commander In Chief by comparing war records!' schtick.
Whatever you may have thought about John Kerry's war service, the fact is it was brief (3 months) and it was controversial (almost 85% of the men who served with him in Vietnam made up the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth that insisted he wasn't fit to be Commander In Chief if he was basing his campaign on what he did in Vietnam - a sobering thought), and it was immediately followed by him launching a political career based on calling American troops war criminals.
I'm sure like many of you I rolled my eyes every time during the 2004 elections whenever John Kerry's war service came up. Then somehow, President Bush's own military service in the Texas Air National Guard became an issue, even though Bush hadn't brought it up and wasn't running based on his military service. Incredibly, most of the 2004 election coverage seemed locked into the past. You'd think they'd be arguing about what had happened over the previous four years, or what should happen over the next 4 years; instead, bizarrely, it revolved around what had or had not happened in Vietnam and in Texas 40 years past.
I think historians are gonna look back at that 2004 election as one of the most bizarre election cycles in American history.
You know Republicans don't make that big a deal of it when they run a real war hero. I'll prove it.

I don’t feel good at all about the election, because I believe Obama will very likely win — and I believe that will be the worst possible thing that could happen to the United States, to Israel, to Europe, and to the world. And if he has a Dem Congress to enact his "hope" and "change" — as he apparently will — then I believe we will have the dubious privilege of witnessing the beginning of the end of American culture, values, and pride.
Furthermore, an Obama win, along with the recent bailout and the further restructuring that will be required as a result of the bailout will destroy our economy and make us pawns for rising powers, none grateful or sympathetic to the United States, or particularly interested in human dignity and freedom.
I also believe that, domestically, black grievance politics will ramp up dramatically, as people taught that they have massive claims against whites will feel empowered to start collecting, big time.
Not to mention that we will have to live with the spectacle of Michelle Obama living her childhood dream of being Jackie O with a J.D. (If Hillary and Oprah had a love child, it would be Michelle Obama.)
The world is coming to an end. At least, the world as we know it. Western civilization was just too successful. We invented the technology and the medicine. Greco-Judeo-Christian civilization was just too humane. We saved the backward third-world cultures from high maternal and infant mortality and fed them. And now we’ve got to deal with the too many of them.
An Obama win will just bring the end that much closer that much sooner. No, no, no, not because he is putatively "black" (which is one of his most obvious lies), but because he is Marxist, anti-American, grotesquely narcissistic, and completely without any compunction at all about how he achieves his goals.
I don’t know. I guess some people think that children singing praises ("Barack Loves Me, This I Know"), and black teenage males in military duds marching and shouting Obama slogans, and French dress designers (an already unstable bunch) silk-screening The One’s face on clothes for the Paris cat-walk, and publicly paid prosecutors targeting as criminal what they interpret as "misleading" information or opinions about Obama, or known terrorist groups (the jihad kind) endorsing their favored candidate (and it’s not McCain) — some people think all this is a sign of healthy enthusiasm. Or maybe quirky but harmless. Or maybe funny. Or maybe they don’t notice.
I think it’s downright scary. And sad.

manofaiki Sat, Oct 4, 2008 6:47:26am |
The Republicans ran 3 genuine dyed-in-the-wool war heroes for President in the last 16 years. Can you name them all? Take a minute to think about it.
Bob Dole? That's right. In 1996 Bob Dole ran against Clinton and lost. If you've ever seen Senator Dole from the front you'll notice he's always got his right arm tucked into his pocket. He lost the use of that arm in northern Italy in World War II when he was hit in the back by machine gun fire.
Now think about this for minute. When Bob Dole was running against Bill Clinton............yes, THAT Bill Clinton.......how many times on the campaign trail did Dole brag about being wounded in combat? If you remember a single time you have a better memory than me.
Let's move on to the second war hero the Republicans have run in the last 16 years. George H. W. Bush. That's right, our current President's father.
See, he was a pilot in the Pacific theater in WWII and he was shot down and narrowly escaped capture by the enemy in an area where other captured American flyers were tortured and killed by the Japanese. You can even read about that in the book Flyboys, written by the same guy who wrote Flag of Our Fathers.
Yet when running against Bill Clinton, I can't remember a single time Bush tried to draw a contrast between himself as a war hero and a man who had dodged the draft and wrote a letter in which he claimed he 'loathed the military'.
Why didn't they? Why didn't Bob Dole and George H.W. Bush emphasize their military service when running against a man who would defeat them both?
It's simple. In their mind they did their duty. What man of honor brags about doing his duty?
So Bob Dole and George H.W. Bush just focused on policy; they didn't spend any time at all during their campaigns trying to draw contrasts between themselves and Bill Clinton based on military service.
Now John McCain is running on the Republican ticket, the 3rd war hero in 16 years. Everybody's heard the story. Shot down over Hanoi, spent 5 1/2 years in captivity, tortured, refused early release, tortured some more, then broken, then found the courage to begin resisting again. They talked about it a lot at the Republican National Convention because it is indeed a compelling story.
But notice one thing. Even during the RNC McCain NEVER directly contrasted his military service and the sufferings he underwent for his country to Obama. Not even one time. And he certainly hasn't done it on the campaign trail. When he discusses his opponent in the race he talks about Obama's record, his statements, his plans for the country.
McCain could get some political mileage by reminding people he was a naval aviator for many years, he could dwell on his military service and pointedly contrasting that with a career political activist/politician. But he won't do that any more than Bob Dole or George H.W. Bush would have.
Just bear in mind that McCain as a real war hero REFUSES to run as one. (Maybe Kerry should have tried this?) He's running on something else.
What's he running on?
He's running on his record of 26 years in the United States Congress.
In his 26 years of being in Congress, John McCain has demonstrated 2 things about himself.
First, he's his own man. It's no accident that when people think of the words 'Maverick' and 'Senator', John McCain is the first name that comes to mind.
Is he a Conservative? Definitely. He has an 82.3 Lifetime Voting Rating from the American Conservative Union:
[Link: www.acuratings.org...]
But is he a guy that will march in lockstep with his party no matter which direction it's going in? Hardly.
McCain's made the news PLENTY of times the past 8 years in issues he's disagreed with President Bush and the GOP leadership. On taxes, on the Iraq War, on Immigration, on Global Warming, etc.
John McCain is a true maverick. He's going to do what he thinks is right and if he thinks his party is wrong, he's going to SAY so.
And believe me, he has a track record of doing exactly THAT since he's been in Congress.

ohn McCain actually took a stand against his hero, Ronald Reagan, when Reagan insisted on putting American Marines in Beirut. McCain thought that was a big mistake and he said so, publicly. Tragically, the bombing of the Marine Barracks that killed 240 American troops proved McCain to be right.
We can examine John McCain's record of standing up to his own party's leadership.
We can examine his running mate, Sarah Palin's record of standing up to her party's leadership. She actually got her start in politics by resigning from a key executive position in the Alaskan oil industry in protest after her whistleblowing on corruption was ignored. Corruption involving REPUBLICAN officials, her OWN party.
In fact, the guy she was blowing the whistle on was the Alaskan GOP PARTY CHAIRMAN. When the Republican Governor ignored her complaint, she ran for Governor of Alaska against him, and despite being heavily outspent, she beat him.
[Link: en.wikipedia.org...]
So what have we seen so far?
The Republican ticket has two people on it who are completely unafraid to TAKE ON THEIR OWN PARTY if that's what they have to do to get things done. Far from being Machine Politicians who will go along to get along and march in lockstep with whatever drumbeat the party leadership is dictating, they both march to their own inner beat.
What else do we know about about McCain? And Palin for that matter?
Secondly, not only are they both mavericks, they both have instituted real reform and change in their careers.
The first thing Palin did after becoming Governor of Alaska was break up a monopoly on Oil and Gas resources that the Big Oil companies had set up with the Good Ol' Boy Political Network that had ruled the roost in Alaska for decades.
McCain earned his stripes in the Congress as a staunch proponent against wasteful pork-barrel spending and earmarks. Many Senators try to ensure their re-election by 'earmarking' pork projects for their State - in effect buying themselves votes using tax payer's dollars.
Government watchdog groups like 'Citizens Against Government Waste' rate McCain as one of the best members of Congress when it comes to rejecting wasting the taxpayer's money:
[Link: councilfor.cagw.org...] ... docID=3282
(You can find McCain's ratings on page 6)
McCain hasn't just railed against earmarks and pork-barrel projects, he's written legislation to try to eliminate them.
He has a 25 year legislative record of trying to get government spending under control:
[Link: www.govtrack.us...]
[Link: en.wikipedia.org...] ... tes_Senate
So on the Republican ticket we have two mavericks who have records of reform behind them.
But wait a second.
What about the Democratic ticket?
Isn't the entire platform of the Obama/Biden ticket Reform and Change?
Wouldn't it then make sense to see just how much reform and change Obama has behind him in the years he's been in public service?
And here's where we hit a snag.
THERE ISN'T ANY RECORD OF CHANGE OR REFORM IN OBAMA'S PAST.
See, Obama has to run on a PROMISE of HOPE and CHANGE and REFORM to come if he's elected since he can't demonstrate any ACTUAL REFORM AND CHANGE that he personally did since entered Congress.
He's actually running on his POTENTIAL.
He's such an AMAZING PERSON that even though he has no record of reform or change behind him, once he's ushered into the Oval Office he's going to unleash reform on Washington that he somehow couldn't bring to Illinois in 7 years in the State Legislature and 2 1/2 years in the Senate.
Any change and reform brought to Washington by the next administration is going to have to do so through bipartisan support. It's going to have to be done by people who can demonstrate they CAN reach across the aisle to the other side and work out differences to move things forward.
McCain has done this repeatedly throughout his career. So has Palin; she actually appointed Democrats and Independents to positions of power in Alaskan government once she was elected.

One has to scour Obama's record in vain trying to find concrete examples of him reaching out to Republicans and demonstrating a knack for bipartisanship.
What it comes down to is a guy who claims he can POTENTIALLY be a reformer............even though he's never reformed anything........and that he can POTENTIALLY buck his own party leadership and reach across the aisle to get things done.......even though he has no record of ever having done it...........who claims he can POTENTIALLY change the political culture and spending habits of Washington when he has no record of having done so thus far in his political career.........
OR
a guy who has ACTUALLY been a reformer.......and has proved it many times in his career........who has ACTUALLY bucked his own party leadership to build bipartisan support.....and who has a record behind him of ACTUALLY speaking and acting out to try to change the culture and spending habits of Washington.
This election calls for us to choose between a guy who CLAIMS he can POTENTIALLY do all these things.........or a guy who has ACTUALLY done them.
I'll agree that Obama gives a great speech. He really does.
But before a person walks into the Oval Office and sits at that desk as the President of the United States, I think he or she must DEMONSTRATE something to the public, not just talk about it.
And so far, like it or not, all Obama is done is talk about what a great President he's going to make. Based on his POTENTIAL. He's got to focus you on the FUTURE because if you really look at his past, you're going to wonder why he's claiming he's going to deliver on all these promises of change and reform when he's never had to deliver in the past.
McCain doesn't just talk about it. He's done it.
That's the difference in this election as far as I'm concerned.
I'm voting for the real reformer, who really will change Washington if he's elected.
I hope you will to!

LOL. Yeah right, pay more taxes - that'll go over real big up here.
And actually, Coors sells very well up here - I sometimes buy a two-four of that weak piss for those long drives to the lake.

Obama and caucus fraud
....One Democratic primary voter with a strong background in mathematics, Dr. Lynette Long, has launched a probe into the lopsided caucus victories of Barack Obama, which indeed garnered the nomination.
Her conclusion?
I’ve spent the past two months immersed in data from the 2008 Democratic caucuses. After studying the procedures and results from all fourteen caucus states, interviewing dozens of witnesses, and reviewing hundreds of personal stories, my conclusion is that the Obama campaign willfully and intentionally defrauded the American public by systematically undermining the caucus process.
The data compiled by Dr. Long, along with the video-recorded testimonials of dozens of caucus-goers, are indeed convincing. According to Dr. Long, in a personal interview, reports from caucus attendees are pretty horrifying at worst, wholly undemocratic at best. Female Clinton supporters reported being called “c**ts” and other sexual epithets, being spat upon by Obama supporters, being threatened physically, and an overall environment of hostility. Not exactly the democratic process to which we are accustomed.....

The New York Times states the obvious, that Obama and Ayers the Terrorist crossed paths, but then goes on to claim that the two have downplayed their contacts. The Times then does the same, ignoring the pile of evidence showing just how closely the two have been over the years - working together on the CAC. They're looking to downplay those years:
A review of records of the schools project and interviews with a dozen people who know both men, suggest that Mr. Obama, 47, has played down his contacts with Mr. Ayers, 63. But the two men do not appear to have been close. Nor has Mr. Obama ever expressed sympathy for the radical views and actions of Mr. Ayers, whom he has called “somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8.”Obama campaign aides said the Ayers relationship had been greatly exaggerated by opponents to smear the candidate.
“The suggestion that Ayers was a political adviser to Obama or someone who shaped his political views is patently false,” said Ben LaBolt, a campaign spokesman. Mr. LaBolt said the men first met in 1995 through the education project, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, and have encountered each other occasionally in public life or in the neighborhood. He said they have not spoken by phone or exchanged e-mail messages since Mr. Obama began serving in the United States Senate in January 2005 and last met more than a year ago when they bumped into each other on the street in Hyde Park.

THe Obama Campaign put out a release that Obama & Ayers knew each other casually, due to their chidren attending school together.
Not likely, the Obama children are young grade schoolers , while Ayers children are adults.
There is a pattern, like Obama claiming that his parents met at the Selma March, when he was four years old & Barack Sr. was already back in Kenya.

Sure it is those are your old media estimated numbers give or take a few lies and fraud.
Thing is could be that some did it via the intertubes, that other blog like media, the stuff you hate so much and attempt to ignore and belittle by the hour.
Of some interest would be the number of viewers who viewed on the net and bloged as they did.
You could go to the trouble to count the numbers on radio as many of us do that rather than look at your sorry ass's.
Facts Count up higher if you know how to count.

The NYT complicity in covering up Obama's links strike me as desperate. The Times is crossing the line from advocacy journalism to co-conspirator. If Rezco gave up the goods, and the Times would know who is being interviewed, then the Times is trying to cover the tracks that lead from Obama's mother and Obama with "Uncle Frank" to the Pritzkers and Ayers and Acorn. Obama is inisputably a US citizen. His mother was a citizen so he is, case closed on that. The question is only was he "natural born" as opposed to "naturalized at birth." If he was born outside the US then he was not a "natural born" citizen. Some judge has ordered Obama to produce his birth certificate. What was interesting that I heard is that Obama is using a lawyer for CAIR to fight this.
Leftists are trying to get McCain disqualified because he was born in the Panama Canal zone.

Having Zero the duly sworn in POTUS and then finding out he is not a citizen would be very bad.
A constitutional crisis. The great document doesn't address what we are supposed to do if the guy _doesn't_ fulfill the (few) real requirements for the job.
I can see it going to the courts and popping out the end as "well it would be too disruptive to the country to remove him, so we'll let it slide."

I hope very much that McCain will win, AND carry in other Republicans on his coattails, which I think is maybe possible given that the Congress had a 9% approval rating BEFORE the bailout and then went ahead and ignored public opinion to pass the bailout.
However, I feel the media campaign to elect Obama along with the utter lying ruthlessness of Pelosi and her gang of thugs amounts to no less than a conspiracy to hoodwink the American voter -- and it could work.

I think coup d’état might be a better description of what they are attempting to pull...

The birth certificate issue is a red herring. An image of it was released on the internet a while back - Charles posted threads discussing it - and it looked to be genuine.
If Obama is fighting showing it to a judge, I presume it is either because he thinks, on principle, that he shouldn't have to, or because if the question drags on and makes a lot of noise, and then he produces a perfectly valid birth certificate, he can use the case as a tool to make his detractors look unhinged.
There are plenty of things to object to about Obama that are legitimate and have clear evidence. Let's use those.

Agreed but the flip argument isthat there is a long lonnnnng list of documents that Obama has refused to release and that needs to be brought to the public's attention. McCain should set up a display with all of his documents, including every demerit he earned at Annapolis and his divorce records. Then he should ask "What is Obama hiding?"

re: #681 lifeofthemind
Obama is inisputably a US citizen. His mother was a citizen so he is, case closed on that. The question is only was he "natural born" as opposed to "naturalized at birth." If he was born outside the US then he was not a "natural born" citizen.
Although I can't cite the statutes to back it up, and am going only on my own experience as a U.S. citizen born abroad, I believe this explanation is still slightly incorrect.
A child born to a U.S. citizen is a "natural born" U.S. citizen, regardless of the place of birth. (For example, I was born in Holland to two American parents, and am recorded as a natural born citizen. The only difference is procedural, requiring a "Report of Birth Abroad" before the birth certificate can be issued by the local consulate on the State Department).
By contrast, a child born on U.S. soil to parents who are not U.S. citizens is recognized as having no inherited claim of "natural born" citizenship, but is immediately granted naturalized citizenship without having to endure the usual multi-year process, and is therefore considered "naturalized at birth."
Again, this is just my own knowledge of the matter. If an immigration lawyer or other expert out there knows better, please correct this.

Factcheck.org has reviewed the "Where was Obama born?" issue in detail. Here's their summary paragraph.
FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false. We have posted high-resolution photographs of the document as "supporting documents" to this article. Our conclusion: Obama was born in the U.S.A. just as he has always said.

As I remember my training on this subject you have it exactly backwards. Anyone born on US soil or on a warship transiting US waters or in a plane in US airspace is under the 14th Amendment a citizen, natural born, full stop. That is Jus solis. Actually the child of a foriegn ambassador or sovereign or child born to a camp follower of an invading army would not be a citizen. Any child born of a US citizen overseas is under Jus sanguinis naturalized at birth but can lose that status if they do not return to live in the US. See the wiki article on US citizenship.

Every night he would jump up on the bed and sleep at my feet. Sometimes I would be asleep when he did this and it would wake me up.
In the past months I have been awakened a few times by a "plop" at my feet. I thought nothing of it - figured I was just dreaming. The other night I was just falling asleep and I distinctly felt that "plop" at my feet and realized if felt exactly the same as when my kitty had jumped up there.
Perhaps my feet have a memory - but I tell you that it feels as real as if someone had grabbed my feet. I was not dreaming.

Honest, forget it, that isn't a renounciation that means you lose your US citizenship. To really stop being a citizen you have to march in the embassy spit on the flag scream that you are quitting because you refuse to pay US taxes (that is the key clause) and then swear and sign an oath. Even then if you say you were being coerced or are real sorry then the judge will probably let you back in the US. If they think you left to avoid taxes then you can never get back into the country.

My beloved greyhound passed away in May in the very same time period. She fell and broke her leg, we discovered it was bone cancer, and we put her down in a matter of hours. She had shown absolutely no symptoms up to that point - it was a complete shock.
It's like - How can they be here one minute and gone the next ?
You summed it up perfectly. Still sorry for your loss.

Hopefully, the courts won't agree with this assessment. :-)

I had to let my kitty go about 4 months ago. Hardest thing I ever did.
Every night he would jump up on the bed and sleep at my feet. Sometimes I would be asleep when he did this and it would wake me up.In the past months I have been awakened a few times by a "plop" at my feet.
As Lizards know, I am a devout Christian. I may not have facts, but I have faith, and I believe that love never ends.
Love is an eternal connection, and I sincerely believe that your kitty is reaching across to comfort you.
I also believe that we give a bit of our souls to our pets and that they are with us in Paradise. It certainly wouldn't be Paradise without the,.

Let's just hope it gets resolved quickly.
/I can hear all the "steal the election" disenfrancisement arguments now. It will be a fait accompli and we will be the ones who get screwed... Constitution? More of a guideline...
/of course, it pretty much already is.
If the resolution comes after Nov 4, and Obamanation is elected, Biden becomes president. If the resolutio ncomes before Nov 4, Hildabeast should get the dem nod with HER choice of a VP.
I think the ballots should be printed with an alternate question:
In the event Barrack Obama is deemed by the courts to be inelligible, who shall be president?
Biden
Clinton
McCain
(remainder of ballot)

4) Obama (booze bring out the truth...not sure I'd want to hear that!)

As late as 1981 Obamanation was traveling on an Indonesian passport, something you cannot get if you are not an indonesian, and they do not allow dual citizenship.

This is one time the US judges act in an old fashioned manner I'm proud of. No judge will allow a foreign court to take away the US citizenship of a child who was born in this country. If we can get those children out of Saudi Arabia who were kidnapped then those kids are welcome home to America.

That makes me feel better : )
I'm off.. gotta go to work to help pay off the 800 something billion dollar bail out.......
Quickly .. i was thinking how much that really was....
A 1.00 dollar bill is about 6.14 inchs long and .005 thick
Its 2983 (map quest) miles from Boston to Los Angeles
2983 miles x 5280 feet/mile x 12 inches/foot
= 189,002,880.00 inches long
that divided by 6.14 = 30,782,228 dollar bills laid end to end
from Boston to los angeles
800,000,000,000 divided by 30,782,228
equals 25,989 bills thick if you stacked them..
25,989 x .005 is 130 inches thick
130 / 12 is Just under 11 feet..
Summation... you could build an 11 foot high wall of 1 dollar bills
on the double yellow line from boston to los angeles along the highways
that mapquest shows
[Link: www.mapquest.com...]
Think about that, during breakfast : )

While I genuinely love Israel I honestly cannot understand some of the things that she does. Israel should have long ago expelled all of the Palestinians and any Arab that supported the Palestinians. What are the Israeli's thinking? They should also expel all Muslims from Israel. Allowing Muslims to live in and move freely around Israel can hardly be seen as anything less than a attempt at suicide...

I agree 110% with you, but, unfortunately, it's way too late for Israel to do that. The only way they'll be able to protect themselves in the future is to keep building in Judea and Samaria while the Palestinians dilly-dally on a peace agreement. Eventually, I hope, the Palestinians will understand that they're not going to get 100% of the 'occupied territories' and will have to settle for much less.

I guess you could send him this item where even Alec Baldwin says the Democrats have a lot of responsibility for the the mess:
"BALDWIN: I'm gonna rape you...The, the thing we have to remember, a friend of mine who is very close to the financial community in New York pointed out that Democrats have a lot of the responsibility for this as well. I mean, it was Clinton who killed the Glass-Steagall, and it happened under a Democratic president. Barney Frank and his committee, they, they kept propping up Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac saying everything's fine, everything's fine, everything's good. And it was his job to know everything wasn't fine. And Barney Frank let you down and let us down as well. And so, but I want to say there's blame to go both ways. But I will say, I want to, I maybe keep beating this to death, but I still think anyone in this Congress who voted to add $140 billion to that bill, they should be ashamed of themselves. That is a disgrace. It's a disgrace. This Congress is a disgrace, Democrat and Republican. "

First timer here...love this site! Not sure I get the quote about stepping into the river, tho. Maybe someone can enlighten me.
I'd like to comment about Sarah Palin and the left's derangement on her nomination for VP. As a recovering lib (uber Democrat since 1972, recovery began in 2000), I am not surprised by the left's reaction to her. I recall when Reagan won the election, I thought the world would end because I thought Reagan would destroy all that Carter and Johnson had worked to achieve. My liberal friends and I labeled him Satan, deranged, and senile. Surprisingly, I prospered exceedingly throughout the Reagan years, and I witnessed the tearing down of the Berlin wall and the end of the Soviet Union, but I never gave him props for all he accomplished.
I also remember Bork's nomination to the Supreme Court and how I knew nothing about him, but it didn't stop me or my lib friends from bashing him unmercifully during our coffee breaks at work, because he was nominated by the "enemy". We delighted in Anita Hill's testimony and were vindicated and celebrated when his nomination was withdrawn.
With Palin, I see the very derangement that I possessed for so many years coming from the left. Hordes of reporter/investigators from the main stream media are dispatched to Alaska to dig up dirt on her. Her family is assaulted by the media's hinting at incest, and a mother/daughter coverup with the birth of her baby boy. Magazine publications vilify her and prominently make her cover page with hints about scandals. Low lifes create porn videos and naked paintings because they hate her so much and delight in the ultimate embarassment and debasement of her. And her baby who suffers with Down's is hooted at by the left as a missed opportunity for what abortion really means...elimination of a life...that is not worthy and that Sarah made the wrong "choice".
Even when she kicks Biden's butt in the VP debate after only 5 weeks on the national scene, she is pooh-poohed by the leftist media as a neophyte, an amateur, and a wholly scripted automaton. Then they nod to each other and coo about how Biden won the debate on substance and how Obama was so insightful to pick Biden as his running mate.
They can't fault her on her accomplishments---they simply call her the mayor of a small town, and a mother of 5 who neglects her motherly duties to her children. The hatred on the left palpable, and I encourage anyone who is still sitting on the fence about the McCain/Palin ticket to take a fresh look at how Obama/Biden has conducted their campaign through the hate-filled main stream media.
I am ashamed that this behavior by the media goes unchecked, and I refuse to subscribe to anymore publications that feed this kind of sickening derangement.
I've signed up to volunteer for the McCain/Palin ticket, and I've contributed money to their campaign for the first time in my life (I am 57). I hope those of you who can spare some time or cash in the next few weeks to do the same.

America's partisan politics has always featured its share of rancorous abuse, but there's something rancid at the heart of the new, blog-driven left that believes its bullying childishness has led the way out of the wilderness. This spirit will inevitably seep into an Obama administration. Whatever Obama's professions of his commitment to cross-partisan understanding, he's never confronted the left of his own party and has always been willing to engage in hardball when it suits his purposes.
Little Keith Olbermanns will surely be burrowed throughout his executive branch, eager to chill the speech of the "worst people in the world."

re: #640 alien_mind
I'm going out later to see An American Carol, the new spoof on Micheal Moore. it comes from one of the guys that made Airplane, and the trailer looks hilarious. I want to support it so that hopefully it crushes Bill Maher's new movie at the box office which is also opening now.
Saw it last night. I gave it a "B+", but mostly only because Zucker's scattershot-slapstick style of humor isn't always my particular cup of tea; sometimes he tends to use a bludgeon when a stiletto would be more satirically effective. :)
I urge anyone who's thinking about seeing An American Carol not to put it off -- the critics are already trying to create the impression that it's a flop, and the Hollyweird leftists would like nothing better than for it to have a "slow" opening weekend to "prove" there's no market for films making fun of the left.

Unfortunately it is not playing in any of my theaters. I would have to go up to Raleigh. I understand they had to go to a French distributor for An American Carol.

That presupposes that the Palis are rational. They are not. Nowhere near it.
