William Ayers Stepping on the US Flag in 2001

Politics | Sat, Oct 4, 2008 at 6:49:30 pm PDT

Just a reminder: in 2001, for an article in Chicago Magazine, Barack Obama’s friend William Ayers proudly allowed himself to be photographed stepping on a United States flag:

The article was appropriately titled: No Regrets, and I’ve saved a copy of it in case it suddenly disappears, as articles exposing Obama’s associates often do.

This disgusting photograph was first published at LGF in May of this year: Obama’s Employer Desecrated Flag.

From our August 2001 issue: "Kill your parents!" urged sixties leftist Bill Ayers, whose father was the chairman of Commonwealth Edison here. In Ayers's new memoir, Fugitive Days, he reconciles his militant past with his present identity: father of three, esteemed professor at UIC—and unabashed patron of the great bourgeois coffee chain, Starbucks

More on Ayers:

Ayers Given Rings Made from Downed U.S. Airplanes

After returning from Cuba, Dohrn [note: William Ayers' wife] and others met with North Vietnamese and Viet Cong representatives in Budapest, Hungary, to discuss antiwar strategy on US campuses. Speaking a few days later at an assembly of revolutionary student movements at Columbia University, Dohrn reported that the Vietnamese communists she met in Budapest were working with US GIs in Saigon, attempting to obtain military information.

As a gesture of solidarity, the Vietnamese who Dohrn met in Budapest presented her with a ring made from an American aircraft shot down over North Vietnam. Bill Ayers would receive a similar ring while meeting with Vietnamese communists in Toronto. He later recalled being so moved by the gesture that he "left the room to cry." He said, "I realized...America was an evil... and that I was... living inside the belly of the beast...."

Obama doesn't seem to have as much of a problem with criminals as he does with the criminal justice system.
Stanley Kurtz:
"Obama was perfectly aware of Ayers’ radical views, since he read and publically endorsed, without qualification, Ayers’ book on juvenile crime. That book is quite radical, expressing doubts about whether we ought to have a prison system at all, comparing America to South Africa’s apartheid system, and contemptuously dismissing the idea of the United States as a kind or just country."

As I said in another thread, as a mother, I've been thinking about Obama's childhood.
His mother used to wake him up at 4:00 am to study. I asked a bunch of friends last night if they knew of ANYONE who woke their kids up that early to study. Of course nobody knew of anyone and thought that was strange.
Then he's shipped off to Indonesia (to study Islam? and get indoctrinated in some other ways)....then back to Hawaii without his mother (what mother would do this?), then to mentor with Frank Davis, afterwards to meet Khalid Al Mansoor and be sponsored by Prince Alaweed (sp?) to college, off to Pakistan with two Muslim roommates....only to be hooked up with Ayers later in life.
It's like a Clancy novel....only it's true.
Obama's whole story is one sordid pack of lies/nefarious associations/omissions etc.
Sarah needs to hammer this home and I've been emailing McCain's web site every day, 5 times a day on this issue!
Maybe they are listening.

Just a reminder: in 2001, for an article in Chicago Magazine, Barack Obama’s friend William Ayers proudly allowed himself to be photographed stepping on a United States flag:

So for the next four years, it looks like Obama & Ayers were exchanging E-mails:

according to Obama’s campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt, today he said:

..the two have not spoken by phone or exchanged e-mail messages since Obama came to the U.S. Senate in 2005 and last met more than a year ago when they encountered each other on the street in their Hyde Park neighborhood...

I'm sick of hypocritical leftist assholes who would literally walk on our flag while simultaneously protecting themselves in it. Put your money where your mouth is, asshole, and move to China, North Korea, Vietnam, or any other commie hell hole if they're so fucking great. No? Then you're a hypocritical scumwad.

They won't do that because they would just be another drone in the Communist hive. What they want is to be the rulers of their own Communist state.

They want to be G-d on Earth.

They see us mere mortals as either tools or livestock that they can use for their own ends, or as defective animals that must be destroyed, or trash to be disposed of.

Such people cannot be reasoned or negotiated with. They can only be isolated, driven off, or destroyed.

Another point from Stanley Kurtz:

"The point of Ayers’ education theory is that the United States is a fundamentally racist and oppressive nation. Students, Ayers believes, ought to be encouraged to resist this oppression. Obama was funding Ayers’ "small schools" project, built around this philosophy. Ayers’ radicalism isn’t something in the past. It’s something to which Obama gave moral and financial support as an adult. So when [New York Times reporter Scott] Shane says that Obama has never expressed sympathy for Ayers’ radicalism, he’s flat wrong. Obama’s funded it."

re: #74 jaunte

Obama doesn't seem to have as much of a problem with criminals as he does with the criminal justice system.
Stanley Kurtz:
"Obama was perfectly aware of Ayers’ radical views, since he read and publically endorsed, without qualification, Ayers’ book on juvenile crime. That book is quite radical, expressing doubts about whether we ought to have a prison system at all, comparing America to South Africa’s apartheid system, and contemptuously dismissing the idea of the United States as a kind or just country."
[Link: corner.nationalreview.com...]

We have a moonbat teacher like him at my son's middle school. He doesn't think we should have consequences for bullying because, he claims, it won't work and "We have a generation of people in prison who show that punishment doesn't work." As I said in another thread, as a mother, I've been thinking about Obama's childhood.
Sarah needs to hammer this home and I've been emailing McCain's web site every day, 5 times a day on this issue!

funny you should say this, I sent my daughter a long note this morning with many of these same thoughts. After reading the book "The Obama Nation", it was very clear why the man is the way he is. No father figure in his life. A mother that was a free spirit and left him to be raised by grandparents that didn't know how to deal with a biracial child that had no interaction with any others that "looked" like him. Even in quotes from his own books, he says what an impact that had on his early child development. It was natural for him to cling to the first radical that gave him the attention he so craved. And they have used each other every since.

Ayers: And the one thing we do know now is that, like then, our government is lying to us…. This is not the big deal, but young people know that the government lies to them routinely. Certainly, if I was looking back and saying what can we do differently, I’d say, “Let’s not be sectarian, let’s not be hierarchical, let’s not split every time we turn around.”

I would say for the young: Don’t be straight jacketed by ideology. Don’t be driven by a structure of ideas. But at the same time, I think we would be, should be, and we should be today, activists. We should open our eyes, see what’s in front of us, and act."

Yes, not all, but postmodernism is at essence anti-capitalist, anti-American, and anti-Western, and the underlying premises are accepted by most universities. Close Shmose [Jonah Goldberg]

I trust Stan entirely that Obama and Ayers were in fact close. But look: even if they weren't that close it would hardly mean Ayers is insignificant. Anyone who understands politics understands that who a president listens to is relevant. Who will the commander-in-chief let in the room? From what direction will he take advice? Who is on his "team" and who isn't? What's a reasonable argument and what isn't?

Even if Obama personally disliked Ayers and disagreed with his politics in meaningful ways, Obama still found Ayers to be someone worth listening to and working with. Ditto Jeremiah Wright. They were in his tent, not outside it. Ayers and Wright may be more extreme than Obama. Indeed, they surely are. But there is very little evidence in the record that Obama's ideological compass doesn't point in their direction. I don't think Americans should be single issue voters on the Ayers stuff. But I think it is absurd to argue — as the NY Times implicitly does — that this is all meaningless because Obama and Ayers were allegedly less than soulmates.

Again imagine a similar relationship between McCain and an abortion clinic bomber and the Times running a story a month before the election reassuring that it's no big deal because McCain and Mr. Planned Parenthood Bomber weren't "close."

CNN can ES&D.

was it a good movie? I want to go see it.

I left the theater not an hour ago. The POV is well worth the time and effort, but objectively (fortunately for the film makers neither the audience, nor the subject matter is objective) it's not a very good film. There are a couple of laughs, mostly visuals, but the main merit, and pleasure, is the merciless drubbing of Michael Moore, Rosie O'Donnell, the ACLU, leftards in general, and Columbia University (academia in general).

One particularly moving scene is near the end, as the Moore character looks out into an audience that is at a support the troops rally(mostly military personnel) and sees a line of troops, in the uniforms and battle gear of their times, all the way back to the Revolutionary War. Gave me a lump in the old throat.

Go see it, it's an OK film, but it's really just a great idea, poorly executed. But worth it anyway. Hits some raw nerves. Sure beats anything Michael Moore ever did.

Ah! Okay- can we find anything on that? It would really blow the "casual acquaintance" thing out of the water.

The casual connection is claim is preposterous. Obama and Ayers ran a non-profit that dispersed $100 million of Annenberg dough to brainwash Chicago children in schools, instead of teaching them. I think nobody's paying attention because they can't believe it. Here's the beginning of one article that lays it out:

Stanley Kutz has been documenting it:

Obama and Ayers Pushed Radicalism On Schools
By Stanley Kurtz
Posted: Tuesday, September 23, 2008

Wall Street Journal
Publication Date: September 23, 2008

Despite having authored two autobiographies, Barack Obama has never written about his most important executive experience. From 1995 to 1999, he led an education foundation called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), and remained on the board until 2001. The group poured more than $100 million into the hands of community organizers and radical education activists.

The CAC was the brainchild of Bill Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground in the 1960s. Among other feats, Mr. Ayers and his cohorts bombed the Pentagon, and he has never expressed regret for his actions. Barack Obama's first run for the Illinois State Senate was launched at a 1995 gathering at Mr. Ayers's home.

The Obama campaign has struggled to downplay that association. Last April, Sen. Obama dismissed Mr. Ayers as just "a guy who lives in my neighborhood," and "not somebody who I exchange ideas with on a regular basis." Yet documents in the CAC archives make clear that Mr. Ayers and Mr. Obama were partners in the CAC. Those archives are housed in the Richard J. Daley Library at the University of Illinois at Chicago and I've recently spent days looking through them.
...
The Daley documents show that Mr. Ayers sat as an ex-officio member of the board Mr. Obama chaired through CAC's first year. He also served on the board's governance committee with Mr. Obama, and worked with him to craft CAC bylaws. Mr. Ayers made presentations to board meetings chaired by Mr. Obama. Mr. Ayers spoke for the Collaborative before the board. Likewise, Mr. Obama periodically spoke for the board at meetings of the Collaborative.

What can we do, or how can we take back the colleges and universities? This may sound like a lame question, but since I want my children/grandchildren educated, what can I do?

Two cents from someone who'se been teaching college for a couple of decades at several different institutions:
(1) Educate the kids before they go to college. Make sure they have studied informal and some formal logic so that they can recognize good and faulty reasoning. Ground them in the old classics, if you can.
(2) Do not send them to a "prestigious" school....or to notoriously leftwing universities. They are not worth the money and are hotbeds of radicalism. (If the kid is very ambitious, s/he will go on to graduate school and at that point can go for name schools, if desired.)
(3) Check to see if the college you're interested in has an active conservative presence. Ask current members of Young Republicans, YAF, or other conservative groups to give you the truth about the school.

Indeed, during its first year, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge struggled with significant concerns about possible conflicts of interest. With a writ to aid Chicago’s public schools, the Annenberg challenge played a deeply political role in Chicago’s education wars, and as Annenberg board chairman, Obama clearly aligned himself with Ayers’s radical views on education issues." Here is another traitor trying to help the messiah get elected:

9/26/2008: Intel News Brief: "Progressives for Obama" headed by Weathermen Terrorist Mark Rudd:

One of the main founders of the Weathermen terrorist
organization
is a signatory to an independent organization acting to
ensure the election of Sen. Barack Obama.

The group in question, Progressives for Obama, also includes among its
ranks many former members of the 1960s radical organization Students
for a Democratic Society, from which the Weathermen splintered, as
well as current and former members of other radical organizations,
such as the Communist Party USA and the Black Radical Congress.

In its creed, first published in March in the Nation magazine, the
Progressives for Obama founders state their organization descended
from the "proud tradition of independent social movements that have
made America a more just and democratic country."

Progressives for Obama stated it can help the Illinois senator's
ascent to highest office by contributing funds, using the Internet to
reach "millions of swing voters;" defending Obama against negative
attacks and making its agenda known at the Democratic National
Convention.

"Progressives can make a difference in close primary races like
Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Oregon and Puerto Rico, and in the
November general election," the founders state.

The founders stress it is crucial to form a grassroots leftist
movement to ensure Obama does not stray too far to the center,
claiming other grassroots liberal movements have successfully
pressured U.S. presidents into creating new policy:

It was the industrial strikes and radical organizers in the 1930s who
pushed Roosevelt to support the New Deal. It was the civil rights and
student movements that brought about voting rights legislation under
Lyndon Johnson and propelled Eugene McCarthy and Bobby Kennedy's
antiwar campaigns. It was the original Earth Day that led Richard
Nixon to sign environmental laws.

And it will be the Obama movement that will make it necessary and
possible to end the war in Iraq, renew our economy with a populist
emphasis, and confront the challenge of global warming. We should not
only keep the pressure on [Obama] but also connect the issues that
Obama has made central to his campaign into an overarching progressive
vision."
Among the signatories and endorsers to Progressives for Obama is Mark
Rudd, one of the main founders of the Weathermen terrorist
organization. Rudd worked closely for years with Weathermen terrorist
William Ayers
, whose association with Obama has generated controversy
for the presidential candidate.

Rudd originally was a top member of the Students for a Democratic
Society, or SDS, leading the famed 1968 Columbia University strikes in
which hundreds of students seized several university buildings. He
also served as spokesman for the strikes, attracting international
media attention.

In 1968, Rudd traveled with the SDS to Cuba, defying U.S. travel bans,
where he says he was heavily influenced by the legacy of Che Guevara
and by Cuban-style revolution. When he returned to the U.S., Rudd
advocated for Columbia's chapter of the SDS to carry out militant,
aggressive action, but he was turned down.

A bio published on his own website explains Rudd worked to form the
Weathermen as a radical alternative to the SDS and for white Americans
to eject their "white skin privilege" and begin "armed struggle"
against the U.S. government.

The Weathermen took responsibility for bombing U.S. governmental
buildings in the 1970s.

Rudd went underground in 1970, when a bomb exploded in a townhouse in
Greenwich Village in New York City, killing three of his comrades. He
lived for seven and a half years in hiding as a fugitive, finally
surrendering in 1977, facing only low-level state charges after
federal charges against Weathermen leaders had been dropped. He
resurfaced as a teacher in New Mexico.

232 El Lizardo mejicano  Sat, Oct 4, 2008 8:01:15pm

The other half:

As late as 2005, Rudd wrote an editorial in the Los Angeles Times
lamenting the state of the antiwar movement in the U.S.

"What's hard to understand – given the revelations about the rush to
war, the use of torture and the loss of more than 2,000 soldiers – is
why the antiwar movement isn't further along than it is. Given that
President Bush is now talking about Iraq as only one skirmish in an
unlimited struggle against a global Islamic enemy, a struggle
comparable to the titanic, 40-year Cold War against communism,
shouldn't a massive critique of the global war on terrorism already be
underway?" he wrote.

Rudd condemned the Weathermen's decision to embark on an "armed-
struggle," calling it "stupid" since the violent acts led to the
group's demise.

Rudd didn't condemn the terrorism itself, only its contribution to the
downfall of the Weathermen.

Rudd declined to speak on the record, explaining an interview
may spark more Weathermen controversy for Obama.

Rudd is just one of scores of radicals involved with Progressives for
Obama.

The group was founded by four individuals with ties to extremist
groups:

Tom Hayden, a former state senator who was a founder and principal
organizer of the SDS. Discover the Networks notes Hayden, previously
married to actress Jane Fonda,
traveled many times to North Vietnam,
Czechoslovakia and Paris to strategize with communist North Vietnamese
and Viet Cong leaders on how to defeat America's anti-communist
efforts.

Bill Fletcher, a former Maoist and current leader of Democratic
Socialists of America or DSA. The New Zeal blog notes Fletcher was
also a founder of the Black Radical Congress, closely linked to the
Communist Party USA, which advocated for "progressive social justice,
racial equality and economic justice goals within the U.S.

Barbara Ehenreich, an honorary chairman of DSA who was formerly active
in antiwar movements in which some notorious radicals took part.

Actor Danny Glover, a member of the Black Students Union, who has

Debate - Clinton and Obama - William Ayers Question

"... So this kind of game, in which anybody who I know, regardless of how flimsy the relationship is*, is somehow.. somehow their ideas could be attributed to me... I think the American people are smarter than that. They're not going to suggest somehow that that is reflective of my views, because it obviously isn't." - BHO

Not knowing how bad upper education had become, I was pleased to have one daughter majoring in Biology at St. John's (NY) and another in Political Science at UNCG. Sooo disappointing. Come to think of it, even some of their high school texts and studies (in NC) would not have been my choice.

While they ponder an MS or MBA, how do I go about making recommendations? (I should have guessed, but thinking it an isolated instance, even my NYC college from 40 yrs ago has gone from religious affiliation, to rejection of religious affiliation, to unaffiliated leftist training ground.)

I wish, along with academic ratings, there would be a political rating of the professors. Lacking that, maybe I should look for schools that offer Latin and Ancient Greek courses!

Charles..

There is a much greater connection as far as I can tell, the traitors from "Weather Underground" are alive and kicking, it seems to me like they are all somehow helping the messiah get elected and needs to be taken more seriously, this is the closest they will ever be to destroy America, that was their ultimate goal.

Mark Rudd, Naomi Jaffe, Ayers, Dohrn and many more.

re: #53 Beach Lover

was it a good movie? I want to go see it.

It's a Zucker film. Think Airplane! Naked Gun, Hot Shots, films like that. The humor is silly, but fun. There are moments that will honestly move you--what "Michael Malone" sees when he looks out at the crowd at Madison Square Garden, and Jon Voight's turn as George Washington.

Plus, it's just _nice_ to see a film that's unabashedly fun and positive.

Great cinema? No. But you'll feel good when you leave the theater.

I saw it in a theater with about 60 people, most over 40. There was applause at the end.

246 yesandno  Sat, Oct 4, 2008 8:30:52pm

Obama worked with Ayers from 1995 on the board of the Annenburg Challenge. No doubt he was aware of the article in 2001 about his "friend" not repenting for his terrorist past and his picture plastered on the front cover standing on the American flag...the symbol of what is America that accompanies her soldiers on their last trip before that final rest.

So while Obama might claim to be only 8 when Bill Ayers did what he did...and he condemns it now when asked....I haven't heard that he condemned that photo taken when Obama was 39 or so. Thing is, Obama doesn't think what Ayers did was radical...because he doesn't know what being a real American is all about.

But I think the American people will not stand for it. We just need to get the word out to everyone and anyone who will listen. I don't think it is too late....it is never to late to try.

259 johnny_t  Sat, Oct 4, 2008 8:49:54pm

Ah....

What's the Clinton connection?

One former member of the Weather Underground, Linda Sue Evans, was in 1985 sentenced to five years in prison carrying a gun and for harboring a fugitive -- Marilyn Buck, who drove the getaway car during the Black Liberation Army's notorious Brink's armored car robbery in Nanuet, NY, where a Brink's guard and two police officers were killed. Evans was then tried for previous crimes. She got five years for conspiring to bomb the U.S. Capitol in 1983, since she had helped forge IDs for others involving in the bombing. She also was sentenced to 30 years on gun charges -- for using false identification to buy three rifles, a pistol, and ammo.

Evans served 16 years, but in January 2001 her sentence was commuted by then-President Bill Clinton.

Another former member, Susan Rosenberg was in 1984 caught in possession of 740 pounds of dynamite intended for use in terrorist attacks. She was sentenced to 58 years in prison. Rosenberg was also allegedly involved in the Brink's robbery.

In 2001, then-President Bill Clinton commuted her sentence, freeing her, in an action widely covered at the time as a pardon.

Asked today if Sen. Clinton thought it was wrong for her husband to free Evans and Rosenberg, a Clinton campaign spokesman refused to answer the question.

"The difference here is that Bill Ayers hosted an event for Senator Obama at his home when he was running for state senator," Clinton campaign spokesman Phil Singer said. "I can tell you that neither Linda Evans or Susan Rosenberg hosted an event for her, and I think that's why the question becomes relevant."

Singer added that, "Bill Ayers is unrepentant of what he did…and that is a difference, of course, between Linda Evans and Susan Rosenberg."

But when Evans was released after Bill Clinton pardoned her, she told the Austin American-Statesman, "I'm not repentant. That's for sure. I wouldn't go about it the same (violent) way." But "we still need solutions, and we still need justice just as badly as we ever did."

I will only post once. I know if I say what is really on my mind, it will violate the rules Charles has laid down, and I have too much respect for that.

This man is the enemy of every American who believes in their birthright.

He is an animal of the lowest kind, no different than the 19 who decide to hijack airliners, and crash them into skyscrapers. His peers are the equivalent of the monsters passing out candy, & jumping for joy at the sight of someone trying to make their peace with God, right before jumping to their death.

This man, knowingly photographed like this, just one month prior to the aforementioned, is an enemy of you, your family, your way of life, & your freedom.

This is the flag, a Star Spangled Banner, a true revolutionary, flying proudly, at Fort McHenry's dawn.

This current generation in uniform has eclipsed anything I can lay claim to as being valiant during my time. This is the same flag that drapes their coffins upon their ultimate sacrifice, in service to country.

This is the same flag, that draped the casket of Ronald Wilson Reagan, caisson en route to the Capitol Rotunda, Lying in State. This is the same flag, when all of the 21 gun salutes are finished around the world, hanging at half mast.

This is the same flag, my kids learn to salute by placing their right hand over their heart, just prior to playing games on Saturday morning.

This is the same flag, folded precisely by the military detail at my Uncle's funeral, and presented to our family.

This is the same flag, one day, which might be folded, and handed to my own children.

This is your flag. This is my flag. This is our flag.

It is not their flag.

All this talk about the flag reminds me of a guy our family knew. He was a WW2 POW and he had a chance to speak in church about his experiences. When he was a prisoner, he somehow managed to hide an American flag inside his blanket, and he talked about what a profound effect that flag had on him. After he was done speaking, he and a friend lifted the original blanket, and while someone sang God Bless America, he slowly unrolled the blanket to reveal the flag, and then slowly rolled it back up again.
I have never seen my dad cry like that before.

You're right. Engineers deal with reality. I was surprised that Biology, which to me also deals with reality, can be colored leftist.

How? By learning to achieve without success in learning. An example?
Too tough for you here? Finish your degree overseas and come back in.

The options available, and undervalued achievements of those who do succeed, here I'm speaking of both students and teachers, may be the problem.

While leftist-leaning professors dominate the universities, the only option for success on a lower level is to cater to it.

Exactly. And while I applaud Sean Hannitys effort to expose all of this tomorrow night, I can't help but think
"whos mind is it going to change ?". His people see this as a career enhancer and thats how it resonates in his neck of the woods among his supporters etc., Its not like the Kos (spit) sh*t for brains moon bats are going to watch and think "Oh ? He's friends with a guy that steps on the American Flag, wants to kill cops, soldiers ...gee, I better re think my vote !". They'll watch Hannity and cheer their guys (Ayers/O'Bama) ! Hopefully there are enough fence sitters/un decideds that haven't a clue 'bout any of this but I'm not holding my breath.
I bought a six pack of VHS tapes today to tape Sean's show tomorrow evening ( I know, DVD, TiVO whatever - I know just about everyone has a VHS player though, not sure about the newer stuff - oh, you have to keep reading !) so I can make copies and send them out to 6 people I know that are undecided or just plain old need a "wake up call". Plus, I've e-mailed EVERYONE in my
address book to remind them about tomorrows show.
If they tell 6 people that tell 6 people and so on and so on.... (what the hell commercial was that ?). If anyone has anymore ideas on how to help turn these poll numbers around please let me know !

re: #106 nightlight

Just a reminder: in 2001, for an article in Chicago Magazine, Barack Obama’s friend William Ayers proudly allowed himself to be photographed stepping on a United States flag:

So for the next four years, it looks like Obama & Ayers were exchanging E-mails:

according to Obama’s campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt, today he said:

..the two have not spoken by phone or exchanged e-mail messages since Obama came to the U.S. Senate in 2005 and last met more than a year ago when they encountered each other on the street in their Hyde Park neighborhood...

Interesting, isn't it, the carefully-chosen wording there? Not spoken by phone, nor exchanged e-mails, nor have they met recently.

Not ruled out: a succession of e-mails from one party, without replies, text messaging, or good old-fashioned letter mail.

Sounds like LaBolt wants you to think there has been no contact between the two, but has avoided saying just that, probably because he knows he would be easily caught in a lie.

Annakita# 125 - to answer your question not all universities or university courses are compromised. If you want your children to get value for money don't let them takr any of the garbage courses which have proliferated in the past forty yrears. These include anything in political science most of the literature courses all of sociology and all the mind bogglingly stupid so-called "studies" - race and society, gender gobbledegook, capitalism crimes, etc. etc.
Pure and applied sciences and languages are still fairly free of the rot although reports about militant harpies at Harvard sticking their noses into the science and math curriculums are disquieting.
Computer science is also still more or less unradicalised although what's taught at universities is usually behind what goes on in the real world.
I hope this is useful.
From a former university type who can still hold up her head concerning what she taught her language and future teachers of languages students.

Utterly repulsive. I wish my father were still alive to threaten to find this creep and punch him.

When we buried my father he had a plain wooden casket (beautifully carved, but totally plain in keeping with Jewish burial customs), but that casket was covered by the flag of the United States of America. He had a twenty-one gun salute by soldiers wearing the same uniform he had worn so proudly, and they folded the flag with reverence and thanked me for his service. It was beautiful and moving, and he would have approved.

William Ayers and his fellow travelers are the price we pay for our freedom, but they all make me sick. As a mother, I wouldn't allow this "person" near my children.
