Here comes Obama's socialist ideas and left leanings, HEALTHCARE, universal that is, unless you have your own.
How do you lower the cost of healthcare by having BHO just talk to the employers?

I wish McCain had been clearer on having the 10000 garages. The government isn't likely to pick the winner, but pick the one with the best lobbyists.
Health care, though, is a place McCain loses. His plan would cause employers to drop coverage. If they can't get the tax deduction for it, but can for pay, they'll drop the coverage and maybe give raises.
Fortunately I could buy it through Mass. Bar Association - at $1100 a month (last year, probably 12-1300/month now). If I had to go to an individual policy, it would be unaffordable, at my age and blood pressure (even if it is under control)).
Group, not individual coverage, is the only way, otherwise insurance companies make sure people who need coverage can't get it, because it will cost them.
38![]() |
Sleepyone Tue, Oct 7, 2008 6:53:54pm |
Uh, Obama. My healthcare coverage has actually gone down by nearly $200 per month over the last five or six years. And the only thing that changed was moving to a different state.
Of course it's sucky coverage, as most self-employed people have.

Going across state lines for health plans is often a disaster for high-cost states like Massachusetts. They cover what Nevada hospitals charge, and Mass charges much more. The rest comes out of pocket.

So, with this seemingly "moderate" Obama health plan in which the only really exceptional thing is that he's going to make the insurance companies pay for pre-existing health conditions...
What's to stop some jackass from doing without, to save money, and then signing up for a plan only after he gets something serious since the insurance supposedly has to cover him?
That's going to severely upset the insurance companies' books over a few years, and force them to charge more money from those who Barack H. Obama just promised not to screw with.
Obama fails at Economics.

Can't we? This is a choice between a big turd and a little one. The little one helped define 1st amendment political speech as a form of criminal corruption and is trying to move the country one notch left using what's left of the tired, sickened, and much maligned Republican base as a lever.
The Big one wants to be Dear Leader American style with parades and singing children and mobs breaking his enemy's legs while his lawyers sue them into silence. He wants to starve us of energy so we'll ride the metro and bikes more giving him more room on the road. Also he still thinks he's running against Bush.

We chose the battlefield, we rid the world of Saadam, we drew al qaida in and have been destroying them, we have protected the homeland, and we are sitting on Iran's doorstep.

I think McCain is getting in some good shots and missing a few easy softballs. Obama is making no sense whatsoever.
I will give 0 this (And I have done public speaking off and on for over 35 years) he is a great speaker. He can string words together on the fly (if you cant dazzle them with brilliance - baffle them with bullshit). They may not make sense ... but he can keep talking. And eliminating Uh from some ones speaking patterns is not a big trick for a professional coach.
Both of them are afraid of silence and pauses can and are profoundly powerful used appropriately.

You can think that if you like, but you would be wrong. I'm pulling up other web sites just fine, I'm not using Internet Exploder, and my average PING times to littlegreenfootballs.com is about 16ms. McCain just said that instead of talking softly and carrying a big stick 0bama just likes to talk loudly. Yep. But a lot of people seem to eat that #@$% up anyway.
0Bama gets a response which means the debate format is broken. All hail the power of "the one". He uses it to lie and say that he never advocated invading or attacking "Pok-Eh Ston" and toss in the "bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran".
McCain responds with an anecdote that he was joking about bombing Iran. And he says he'll get Osama but won't give him any warning the way that 0Bama would.
