Time for Mr. and Mrs. Joe Publix to get to know Obama up close and personal.

2 Sharmuta  Thu, Oct 9, 2008 8:41:37am

My favorite 0bama quote: "Uh".

3 doppelganglander  Thu, Oct 9, 2008 8:41:42am

My favorite gibberish: We are the ones we've been waiting for. What the hell is that supposed to mean?

4 vxbush  Thu, Oct 9, 2008 8:41:44am

Nice.

5 bosforus  Thu, Oct 9, 2008 8:44:19am

I'm still waiting for an Obama website dedicated entirely to all of the reasons why he's not qualified to be president. Or basically, a summary of his life.

"Obama supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions." -- Obama's website

This is utterly disgusting, and what makes me sick is the number of people who seemingly have no problem with this. 0bama brand kool-aid must be some pretty potent sh*t.

7 Cartman  Thu, Oct 9, 2008 8:46:10am

I see where Obama has challenged McCain to directly confront him with the Ayers connection.

Come on John, here's your second golden opportunity. You cannot shirk you're responsibility to call him out on this one any longer. Political ads addressing this will only take you so far. America needs to hear it from your lips, Senator McCain.

8 Ojoe  Thu, Oct 9, 2008 8:46:11am

That's what we'll all be for at least four years, if he gets elected.

A genius that one is not. I seriously think it would read a restaurant menu on camera if one was slipped in on the teleprompter. I can't believe what I'm reading, you know Obama denied that he said he will meet with Iran without preconditions..he did he did he did.

I know a disgusting number of jewish friends and family who simply won't believe that Obama is palsy-walsy with Rashidi or Abuminah until it's on the front page of the NYT. Until then it's all lies and more lies by the evil Cheney and Rove and Obama is eating ivy like the innocent he pretends to be.

I wonder what happens when they find out that the MSM betrayed them?
Will it be too late or will it be payback time?

75 FrogMarch  Thu, Oct 9, 2008 8:59:17am

A side line note. (regarding the right peta side bar on right-wing news) I know that PETA has a bad name for going to far. And sometimes they do. But I do think that factory farming needs to clean up its act. None of us should stand by while the food that we will eventually eat is tortured and mistreated beforehand.

1) There are many far left progressives in this country.
2) They want a Euro-styled socialism in this country.
3) They do not hide these facts.
4) They have been working on this for a very long time.

There is nothing wrong with these people. Not in the sense of them being stupid, or sick, or out of touch. It's just the opposite. These are well educated folks and many with good paying jobs.

The big problem is we sit back and assume that they are nuts or not worthy of being part of the political process.

Until we understand who they are, what they want and how they are going about getting it, this will escalate.

And while he is at it, tie him to ACORN, the Economic disaster that relationship caused, and Ayers as part of the larger anti-capitalist, anti-American agenda.

Rip him to shreds.......and then see if Humpty Dumpty can pull himself together...I doubt it.

It's not done. This is a political ad. JM has to personally confront Obama on Ayers.

I agree. And the ad ties in BHO's relationship with Ayers as some sort of trust issue with the entire argument being - If he lied about Ayers, then how can we trust him on healthcare? What? That's the connection to make? What about judgement and questioning BHO's vision for America. That's the problem with the Ayers relationship, not that it somehow makes BHO's policy promises suspect.

re: #100 MandyManners

This is amazing!

Obama’s memoir was published in June 1995. In January 1995, Ayers had chosen Obama, then a junior lawyer at a minor law firm, to chair the multi-million dollar Chicago Annenberg Challenge grants.

In the fall of that same year, 1995, Ayers and his wife, Weatherwoman Bernardine Dohrn, launched Obama’s ascent to political stardom with a fundraiser in their Chicago home.

In short, Ayers had the means, the motive, the time, the place and the literary ability to jumpstart Obama’s career. And, as Ayers had to know, a lovely memoir under Obama’s belt made for a much better resume than an unfulfilled contract over his head.

Recall Obama's answer during his debate with Hillary, "I'm not in the habit of exchanging ideas from him." Freudian slip, Barry?

Hiippie communism is just a bunch of folks smoking pot and arguing over who has latrine duty that week.

They are a distraction from what the real enemy looks like. Marxist revolution occurs via democratic means. It is class warfare and it is intended to destroy the capitalist system (bailout?). Most are useful idiots in the equation. Where it gets radicalized is when Lenin "augmented" marxism to have the "vanguard of the proletariat." While marxism was rule by the proletariat, Lenin proposed a smaller cadre of people, who of course knew better than the unwashed masses. That smaller cadre, the "apparatchik" is the party.

Welcome to the party, tovarisch. Can't wait for May day. /

Still The One (Orleans)

We've been together since way back when
Sometimes I never want to see you again
But I want you to know, after all these years
You're still the one I want whisperin' in my ear

You're still the one I want to talk to in bed
Still the one that turns my head
We're still having fun, and you're still the one

I looked at your face every day
But I never saw it 'til I went away
When winter came, I just wanted to go
Deep in the desert, I longed for the snow

You're still the one that makes me laugh
Still the one that's my better half
We're still having fun, and you're still the one

You're still the one that makes me strong
Still the one I want to take along
We're still having fun, and you're still the one

Changing, our love is going gold
Even though we grow old, it grows new

You're still the one that I love to touch
Still the one and I can't get enough
We're still having fun, and you're still the one

You're still the one who can scratch my itch
Still the one and I wouldn't switch
We're still having fun, and you're still the one

You are still the one that makes me shout
Still the one that I dream about
We're still having fun, and you're still the one...

The Obama Truth Squad is already in full intimidation mode in Fort Myers, Florida:
[Link: [Link: www.msnbc.msn.com...]...]

If (and it's a BIG if) Corsi has the goods he says he has AND they can be cofirmed as authentic, then Obama has a HUGE problem on his hands. That kind of info can't be kept quiet.

He got the truth squad strategy straight from CAIR - if non-muslims speak the truth about you, then file a lawsuit. Same tactics for Obama - intimidate the opposition until there is no opposition. We have much to worry about if he's elected.

They started out okay, but somewhere between 1995 and 2006, they lost their way. Think Jack Abramoff.

The weren't a majority throughout that period! And, they had to contend with the Clinton Administrations.

Not only that, Cartman, but if 0bama is getting that testy about it then McCain must have struck a nerve. 0bama's saying that McCain "wouldn't say it to my face". He's acting like a street punk. Keep going with the ads for now- it's pissing off barry.

Ok I either have a great idea or I am a total moron:

In the next debate, when Obama starts with his McCain=Bushs meme, I think that McCain should turn to him and say:

Senator Obama you continually try to tie me to the Presidents policies and are saying that I am guilty by association. In what way is that any different than your association with Bill Ayers, a domestic terrorist who bombed the Pentagon and with whom you have worked with over the years?
Personally, if I had a choice between associating with the POTUS and an unrepentant domestic terrorist, I would choose the President!

Maybe. Depends on where those PUMAs are located. If they're in NY or CA, they're irrelevant.

ACORN, on the other hand, concentrates their voter fraud efforts in the swing states.

Let's say it's 5 million. That's an average of 100,000 per state. Plenty there to offset a lot of fraud. I doubt there's a lot of PUMAs in red states, so that ups the number in swing and blue states.

OT - fun with numbers!
How many miles of Earth can you see before reaching the horizon?
Height and Distance
5 ft: 2.74 miles
6 ft: 3.00 miles
10 ft: 3.87 miles
1000 ft: 38.74 miles
5 miles: 198.97 miles
from the moon: 6,160 miles

And if you're curious, here's the equation!
d = re*cos-1(re/(re+h))
where:
d = visible distance, miles
re = radius of the earth
h = height above the earth, miles

As you were.

The weren't a majority throughout that period! And, they had to contend with the Clinton Administrations.

The problems really started once the GOP was a majority, and had a Republican president. Then, they forgot they were conservatives who believed in small government, and spent our money like there was no tomorrow.

I don't mind paying for the war. I really applaud paying for veterans' benefits. But I have huge problems with the way money was thrown around between 2001 and 2006. Huge problems.

re: #288 cblesz

I have a feeling McCain is just gonna unload on Obama in the last debate. He sounded pretty up on the Ayers facts during the Hannity interview and even mentioned ACORN. The last format did not give him a chance to bring it up. Now, as the campaign is pushing it I am sure Sheiffer will HAVE to ask about it. The....BLAMMO!

Bob Shieffer will carefully structure things to steer the debate away from any subjects distasteful to Obama. McCain will just have to be nimble and jump on any words suggestive of these matters, and bring Ayers, Acorn, and a whole slew of other matters into the debate.

You cannot shirk you're responsibility to call him out on this one any longer. Political ads addressing this will only take you so far. America needs to hear it from your lips, Senator McCain.

I'm thinking that this campaign is heading so deep into the negative muck that McCain doesn't want, or cannot play a part in these attacks for fear of charges of racism sticking. If Charles' posted video of last night - "One Thousand Sundays" is any indication of the direction it's going, McCain might be right.

316 abolitionist  Thu, Oct 9, 2008 9:43:49am

From Charles' link,

"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets. We smoked cigarettes and wore leather jackets. At night, in the dorms, we discussed neocolonialism, Franz Fanon, Eurocentrism, and patriarchy. When we ground out our cigarettes in the hallway carpet or set our stereos so loud that the walls began to shake, we were resisting bourgeois society's stifling conventions. We weren't indifferent or careless or insecure. We were alienated.

But this strategy alone couldn't provide the distance I wanted, from Joyce or my past. After all, there were thousands of so-called campus radicals, most of them white and tenured and happily tolerant. No, it remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names." -- Barack Obama

That last paragraph is a doosey. So who's Joyce? Found this:

In college, rejected multiracialism for black identity

Joyce was a woman Obama encounters in college just as his is launching an all-out crusade to realize his black identity. Like Obama, Joyce is from a mixed-race background. Obama asks her if she is going to a Black Student Association meeting. She looks at him and then says, "I am not black. I'm multi-racial."

Joyce opposes blackness out of the same determination to claim an identity that drives Obama to embrace blackness. Obama is determined to distance himself from her & his own mainstream American past. Joyce represents a remarkable new option in American life. Joyce says that whites are "willing to treat me like a person." Blacks are "the ones who are telling me I can't be who I am."

Joyce is Obama's troublesome doppelganger as he grinds through the self-betrayals that help him belong to blackness. What you want, she murmurs--the chance to be yourself, self-acceptance--is not with blackness; it is in the same mainstream you came from.

The USSS simply MUST investigate anything that sounds like a threat, no matter how remote.

If the woman they talked to quoted herself accurately, there was no threat. None at all.

"She asked if I was an Obama supporter, to which I replied, 'No, I don't support him. Your guy is a socialist who voted four times in the state Senate to let little babies die in hospital closets; I think you should find something better to do with your time.' (And then) I hung up."

I think many people are beginning to find the "racism"! charge from the Obamatons tiresome. "Racism" is becomming the New F-Word; at first it is shocking and intimidating, then infuriating, then annoying, and finally just boring.

The only people who will genuinely buy into it are the Obamatons and some non-white Obama worshippers. What concerns me is the way these people are being worked over by cynical political operatives and professional race-baiters.
