CORN has major problems when CNN is trying to expose their fraud.
Brian Moller says ACORN has its own quality control, has fired workers in the past, including workers in Gary. Despite its past, the Obama campaign gave $800,000 to ACORN to help fund its primary registration drive, and ACORN has endorsed Barack Obama for president. The Obama campaign reacted this afternoon, saying, it is "committed to protecting the integrity of the voting process and said it has not worked with ACORN during the general election."
They're throwing out 5000 new applications.
Leaders of ACORN in the effected areas should be charged with voter fraud and sent to prison! The leaders are the proverbial fox guarding the hen house.

Let me get a harsh truth on record, posted at the end of a prior (and very long) thread:
Our knowledge of Acorn's interference in our electoral process is only partially known at this point, but even so it looks very bad. Election results in many battlegrounds will be close, and with Acorn's interference, very possibly invalid.
Our country is not a Banana Republic, though, and this cannot be tolerated. Fixing it, though, will take time, to uncover and cleanse the system of the fraud and all the fraudulent "voters."
Therefore the elections should be postponed, say, a month or two to allow time for a more complete investigation and de-lousing of the pool of "registered voters."
In addition, a Class Action Lawsuit by We, the People of the United States against Acorn and its supporters and affiliates should be initiated to bankrupt the fuckers.

Polls always release results from a respondent pool, but they do not tell you - although the NCPP says they always should - what proportion of people agreed to answer the poll. If a lot of folks refuse to take part in the poll, that's an important piece of information. If Gallup is getting pushback from people they are trying to contact, they may be interpreting that in a way that may skew their political weighting.
Now one thing I do not buy, is the idea that Obama has 51% support. Not that he could not get that much in the vote, but if that is true it would mean that his support has risen six points in three weeks. What would cause that to happen? It's not going to come from the democrats, he already had their support. It's not that republicans would swing over and support Obama, the numbers tell us that and in any case, the parties are very partisan this year. And the independents have not changed in Obama's favor, in fact he's a point weaker with them than he was September 14. So what's driving the bigger numbers? The only explanation is that more democrats in the poll are being counted, which means that Obama's growth is artificial. In real terms, it means that republicans have become more passive, and the balance reflects a loss of McCain support on both tracks, his own support and Obama's.

They need to hammer this. Say things like "after the 2000 election, you'd think that we would have done something to clean up the process. Not just making sure every legal vote is counted, but also making sure that NO ILLEGAL VOTES ARE COUNTED." How anyone could get away with being in favor of voter fraud boggles the mind. Voter fraud enabling (no IDs) is part of the Democrat platform, right? Or is it so fundamental a principle to them it doesn't need enumeration in the platform?

To kick off our show tonight, Mr. Obama will give 95% of American working families a tax cut, even though 40% of Americans today don't pay income taxes! How can our star enact such mathemagic? How can he "cut" zero? Abracadabra! It's called a "refundable tax credit." It involves the federal government taking money from those who do pay taxes, and writing checks to those who don't. Yes, yes, in the real world this is known as "welfare," but please try not to ruin the show.

Sanity Check:
How come no one brought up a probability.... that the markets are reacting to a possibility that the United States may have a socialist, leftist government (just think the power triumvirate of Obama, Pelosi and Reed) for the first time in history? That would be a major game changer.
All this talk by Barack Hussein Obama regarding the class warfare, taxing the "rich", evil corporations", the distribution of wealth can not instill confidence among the business class and the investors, and they are reacting. With the US market being dominant globally, what you have abroad is a domino effect.
If McCain wins, the markets will bounce back, if Obama wins - we're in for one wild ride. Last time the world went through a similar economic situation, we had Hitler and WWII with a Holocaust.

re: #38 jorline
Thanks for the link Sharm...excellent.
Your bold is exactly what the PUMAs have been saying.
If the sample is skewed, the results are skewed, and I find it highly interesting that gallup is not releasing the internals until a week later. That's really disingenuous, IMO.

re: #42 spudly
They need to hammer this. Say things like "after the 2000 election, you'd think that we would have done something to clean up the process. Not just making sure every legal vote is counted, but also making sure that NO ILLEGAL VOTES ARE COUNTED." How anyone could get away with being in favor of voter fraud boggles the mind. Voter fraud enabling (no IDs) is part of the Democrat platform, right? Or is it so fundamental a principle to them it doesn't need enumeration in the platform?
Democratic platforms tend to have planks that would embarrass civilized people.
For instance, in 1856, the DP firmly supported the Fugitive Slave Act, which allowed Southern slaveowners to retrieve their absconded property from wherever they might be found.... even in the lobby of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, if it should come to that.
It gets better.
"Resolved:
1. That the Federal government is one of limited power, derived solely from the constitution, and the grants of power made therein ought to be strictly construed by all the departments and agents of the government, and that it is inexpedient and dangerous to exercise doubtful constitutional powers.2. That the constitution does not confer upon the general government the power to commence and carry on a general system of internal improvements.
3. That the constitution does not confer authority upon the Federal government, directly or indirectly, to assume the debts of the several states, contracted for local and internal improvements or other state purposes; nor would such assumption be just or expedient.
4. That justice and sound policy forbid the Federal government to foster one branch of industry to the detriment of another, or to cherish the interests of one portion of our common country; that every citizen and every section of the country has a right to demand and insist upon an equality of rights and privileges, and a complete and ample protection of persons and property from domestic violence and foreign aggression.
5. That it is the duty of every branch of the government to enforce and practice the most rigid economy in conducting our public affairs, and that no more revenue ought to be raised than is required to defray the necessary expenses of the government and gradual but certain extinction of the public debt.
6. That the proceeds of the public lands ought to be sacredly applied to the national objects specified in the constitution, and that we are opposed to any law for the distribution of such proceeds among the states, as alike inexpedient in policy and repugnant to the constitution.
7. That Congress has no power to charter a national bank; that we believe such an institution one of deadly hostility to the best interests of this country, dangerous to our republican institutions and the liberties of the people, and calculated to place the business of the country within the control of a concentrated money power and above the laws and will of the people; . . .
"
Yes, that really is a Democratic Party platform. Seriously. No foolin'.

however they did want to know how I felt about Obama. That was my limit. I told the Agent in no uncertain terms that my thoughts were not pertinent to their investigation, that this was America and the last time I checked I was allowed to think whatever I wanted without being questioned by the Secret Service. In fact, even if I had said what she claimed, that isn't a threat. I told them (again) and my husband verified that the statement reported by Obama's volunteer was a lie. I asked them if there was a tape of the call and they said no. I said, "So on the word of a ticked off Obama supporter you are on my porch with no other evidence and you want to question me about my THOUGHTS!?"
SNIP
They then said they were trying to do me a favor, that they came to me first before “embarrassing you by going to all your neighbors and family”, another threat? I told them to be my guest and talk to whomever they wanted but they weren’t going to investigate my thoughts on my porch.
They also informed me that it would be easier if the next time a supporter calls me I just say "Yeah sure count me in, or just hang up" apparently so she won't get her undies in a bundle and give them more useless trips. Yeah right. I said "Look, someone calls me unsolicited on my cell phone to ask me to support their candidate and I can't tell them why I don't?" I said I was sorry they made a wasted trip but if they had a problem with some made up lie they needed to go talk to her about it because it wasn't my fault they had to drive from Houston for nothing.
At one point I went inside and got a notepad to record their badge numbers and they refused to show me their badges. They had done the quick flip when they arrived. I asked for a card and the female Agent refused to give me one stating “You’re not going to get a card.” The male Agent gave me a card and told me I could contact Houston with any questions.

I understand they had to investigate to determine if there was any truth in the accusation. What I find particularly disturbing is the way they treated the woman. They want to know her private political views, threaten to go to her neighbors and friends and ruin her reputation, and advise her to lie to these Obama creeps so she doesn't upset the apple cart. They don't have to censor her if she can be re-educated to censor herself. If the leftists can silence decent people who oppose their agenda, they can take over our government, ensconce a permanent Democratic Socialist majority, and stomp on the Constitution like Ayers stomped on the flag.

I'd want them not to treat that American citizen as villain of the piece, after it must have been obvious to them that they were handed a made-up case; I'd at least have expected them to give out their warrant cards when asked, because thats what they are obliged to do, aren't they?
What should really be checked however, is - who got them there in the first place? Who was the B0-official who blew this up into something like a threat to the life of B0?
Thats where the thugocracy comes in - its not the heavy-handedness of some SS agents, its the people who sent them there.

The latest question is: are tickets good or not? She contacted Ticketmaster and a representative did in fact confirm since she purchased more then two ticket limit her orders were cancelled. She immediately informed fellow concert goers of the dilemma for the tickets were cancel with an unusual twist. While PSUKelly knew she broke the rules, she thought she was in the free and clear as she had the hard tickets in her hand. She was not contacted by Ticketmaster for several days after the cancellation was made, when she then received an email telling her what she already knew. 1858 DP Platform, further snippets:
Resolved, That we reiterate with renewed energy of purpose the well-considered declarations of former conventions upon the sectional issue of domestic slavery, and concerning the reserved rights of the states—
1. That Congress has no power under the constitution to interfere with or control the domestic institutions of the several states, and that all such states are the sole and proper judges of everything appertaining to their own affairs not prohibited by the constitution; that all efforts of the Abolitionists or others, made to induce Congress to interfere with questions of slavery, or to take incipient steps in relation thereto, are calculated to lead to the most alarming and dangerous consequences, and that all such efforts have an inevitable tendency to diminish the happiness of the people and endanger the stability and permanency of the Union, and ought not to be countenanced by any friend of our political institutions.
2. That the foregoing proposition covers and was intended to embrace the whole subject of slavery agitation in Congress, and therefore the Democratic party of the Union, standing on this national platform, will abide by and adhere to a faithful execution of the acts known as the compromise measures, settled by the Congress of 1850—"the act for reclaiming fugitives from service or labor" included; which act, being designed to carry out an express provision of the constitution, can not, with fidelity thereto, be repealed, or so changed as to destroy or impair its efficiency.
And they had the gall to conclude:
Resolved, finally, That in view of the condition of the popular institutions in the old world (and the dangerous tendencies of sectional agitation, combined with the attempt to enforce civil and religious disabilities against the rights of acquiring and enjoying citizenship in our own land), a high and sacred duty is devolved, with increased responsibility, upon the Democratic party of this country, as the party of the Union, to uphold and maintain the rights of every state, and thereby the union of the states, and to sustain and advance among us constitutional liberty, by continuing to resist all monopolies and exclusive legislation for the benefit of the few at the expense of the many, and by a vigilant and constant adherence to those principles and compromises of the constitution which are broad enough and strong enough to embrace and uphold the Union as it was, the Union as it is, and the Union as it shall be, in the full expression of the energies and capacity of this great and progressive people.
Right. They wanted to sustain constitutional liberty by preserving the institution of slavery.
Are Obama, Jackson, Sharpton, et al., aware of the history of their own party?

See the previous thread. It looks like that Iranian cargo ship was a big dirty bomb to be set off near Israel.
Link
What is the source for these items I wonder?
...Following this initial rebuff, the pirates broke open one of the containers and discovered it to be filled with packets of what they said was “a powdery fine sandy soil” .......sixteen of the pirates subsequently died,...
...the same does not apply to the Russians and so it is that we learn the real story of the MV Iran Deyanat. She was an enormous floating dirty bomb, intended to detonate after exiting the Suez Canal at the eastern end of the Mediterranean and in proximity to the coastal cities of Israel. The entire cargo of radioactive sand, obtained by Iran from China (the latter buys desperately needed oil from the former) and sealed in containers which, when the charges on the ship are set off after the crew took to the boats, will be blasted high into the air where prevailing winds will push the highly dangerous and radioactive cloud ashore...
...This ship was nothing more nor less than the long-anticipated Iranian attack on Israel. Not the expected rocket attacks (which could be intercepted by the Israelis) but an even more deadly and unexpected attack by sea..
I've been keeping track of this story since it happened and seen nothing of these particular items. The only source I can locate right now is bloggers quoting other bloggers quoting other bloggers.
Does anyone know of a legitimate news source quoting these particular items?

Good afternoon everyone!
Whew, exhaustive day trying to keep up with a 2 year old. Took her pumpkin picking with the mandatory hay ride, to watch a cranberry harvest, and to watch the rescue of this years wayward celebrity Manatee, who was captured in Sesuit harbor, and is as we speak on his way south, to Sea World in Florida for rehab. I have petted horses, dogs, chased frogs, fed ducks and bought cranberries to make cranberry sauce with to go with a chicken dinner tonight. I'm pooped. Thank god hubby has her now for a few hours, the all important ice cream foray with grampa. Hopefully, they go to Connecticut for ice cream. I need a break!
If anyone is interested in the Manatee rescue, it will be up on:

TEHRAN (AFP) — Pirates released an Iranian ship that had been hijacked off the Somali coast in August, state news agency IRNA reported on Friday.
"The ship Dianat was released on Friday morning after seven weeks of ... negotiations with Somali pirates," the state-owned Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines said in statement carried by the agency.
"All 29 members of the crew are safe and sound and the ship is sailing towards international waters," it said.

Not those items. I still think whatever is in the ship is radioactive, though.
The more I think about it, though, trying to set off a dirty bomb at any distance from the target would contaminate a massive area, if it worked at all and didn't just contaminate large areas of the ocean, so I might fall back on my original idea that it was aimed at a western port.
I think a lot of countries would be upset at Iran if fishing in the Mediterranean was unsafe for a few thousand years.

Oh, I agree. It for sure was not iron ore as claimed.
I was just surprised to see such claims as I outlined being made and couldn't find a source for them, except for an on-line magazine. I figured their credibility was kind of shot as they maintain Pres Bush was responsible for blowing up the WTC.

re: #220 Kosh's Shadow
Sorry about he link. Think disruption vice destruction.
Effects of a Dirty Bomb
Perhaps the biggest misconception about dirty bombs -- and there are many -- has to do with their effects. Although radioactive material is utilized in constructing them, they are not nuclear or atomic weapons. They do not produce a nuclear chain reaction and, therefore, the employment of such a device will not produce an "American Hiroshima." In fact, there can be a wide range of effects produced by a dirty bomb depending on the size of the IED and the amount and type of radioactive material involved. Environmental factors such as terrain, weather conditions and population density would also play an important role in determining the effects of such a device.
Generally, a dirty bomb that uses a large quantity of highly dangerous radioactive material such as plutonium-238 or cesium-137 will produce more (and stronger) contamination than a device that uses less material or material that is not as radioactive. However, the most highly radioactive materials are the hardest to obtain and the most difficult to work with. Some materials are so dangerous that even suicide bombers would die before they could use one if they were not properly shielded. For example, in September 1999, two Chechen militants who attempted to steal highly radioactive materials from a chemical plant in the Chechen capital of Grozny were incapacitated after carrying the container for only a few minutes each; one reportedly died.
There are, however, many more-common, less-dangerous materials, such as americium-241 or strontium-90, that would be easier to obtain and work with. It is therefore widely believed that terrorists wanting to construct a dirty bomb would be more likely to use one of them.
According to experts from organizations such as the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements, unless a large quantity of a very highly radioactive material is used, not many people will be immediately killed by the radiation released by a dirty bomb. Rather, the initial casualties will be a result of the explosive effects of the IED, just as they would be in a conventional IED attack without a radiological component. While exposure to very strong sources of radiation at close range could cause fatalities, a dirty bomb by design disperses its radiation over a larger area. Therefore, most of the deaths caused by the radiation in a dirty bomb will most likely be from causes like cancer that will take years to develop. Most people who quickly leave the area contaminated by the dirty bomb will have minimum exposure to radioactivity and should not suffer permanent health consequences.
Keep in mind, however, that a dirty bomb is intended to cause a panic -- and the explosion of such a device in a heavily populated urban area could very well result in a panic that could kill more people than the IED or the radiation it disperses.
It should also be noted that the radiological effects of a dirty bomb will be larger than the killing radius of the IED itself, and will persist for far longer. The explosion from a conventional IED is over in an instant, but radiation from a RDD can persist for decades. While the radiation level may not be strong enough to affect people who are exposed briefly in the initial explosion, the radiation will persist in the contaminated area and the cumulative effects of such radiation could prove very hazardous. (Here again, the area contaminated will depend on the type and quantity of the radioactive material used. Materials in a fine powdered form are easier to disperse than solid blocks of material and some radioactive materials possess a far longer half-life than others.) Due to this contamination, it will be necessary to evacuate people from the contaminated area in many, if not most, cases involving a dirty bomb. People will need to stay out of the area until it can be decontaminated, a process that can be lengthy.

Your entire campaign has centered around trust and change and this could completely tarnish your reputation. You, Obama, need to get on TV RIGHT NOW and explain the situation. This cannot linger in hopes of it dying down and it needs to be addressed before the McCain camp attacks. I would suggest you telling the American people, that you are appalled and don’t condone this activity and that you will put up you own money (personal or campaign) to ensure that no this situation is fixed. You must explain what is going on and separate yourself from this activity……NOW!

If Obama has paid them to register voters and if ACORN has been shown to do illegal things this could blow up in the campaigns face. I would strongly suggest that the campaign does not dodge this issue. If ACORN is doing illegal things, Obama should get out from underneath it.

The radio was quoting Mohammad Hossein Dajmar, head of Iran's Shipping Line as saying that Iran had to pay ransom to the Somali pirates to get the crew and ship back despite fears that it may set a bad precedent.
Dajmar on Saturday said Iran had been in telephone contact with the pirates to arrange shipments of food and water to the Iranian seaman before they were finally released Friday.
The pirates on Friday freed 29 Iranian seamen and their cargo ship, Iran Dianat, that was hijacked in July.

The immediate damage of a bomb will be familiar. The radiation will become apparent soon and leak even faster. It won't even take lethal or toxic levels of radiation to create the panic. Just the fact that radiation was measured, and images of first responders going through DECON on the evening news.
And yes depending on the type of material and amount cleanup will be the main issue.

From the link I posted above, for those of you without the inclination to click on it...
Let me give the press a clue. Two months ago Republicans felt Obama would make a bad president, and they do today also. They felt he was wrong on the issues, was not experienced enough to be president, and lacked the character and integrity to be president. Their feelings about Sen. Obama have not changed in the last week. And yet, they've gone month after month without verbally threatening anyone. Focusing on issues, character, and experience. Now the press seems to think that, after all those months of acting reasonable, Republican grass-roots supporters have suddenly turned into raving maniacs that scream death threats? No, there is a new player on the scene. Democratic dirty astroturf.
This is a planned effort by Democrats. Attend Republican rallys pretending to be Republican grass-roots supporters, yell vile statements, and hope they stick to the Republicans. IS the press in on this? I know they aren't investigating it.
Republicans will to have to do that themselves. Raise the alarm that there is a dirty astroturf campaign being run by the Democrats. Keep and eye (and ear) open at rallys for people that yell these things, and find out who they are. The only way to stop this is to expose it.
Astroturf doesn't grow in the daylight.

Claiming that there's a conspiracy (especially without proof) only compounds the problem. The stupid republicans getting hysterical at these rallies are not going to magically disappear if you imagine them to be Obatron plants. Thanks for this. I do understand the dangers, which is why I pointed out the problems with fishing, if the bomb were detonated even 50 miles offshore. It would be a huge area contaminated, and the contamination would not just end up in Israel, Gaza, etc, but would probably reach Jordan and southern Lebanon.
Even a little contamination would frighten people so much that the area would be uninhabitable, not due to actual radiation, but due to fear. And agricultural products would be useless; no one would eat them. Same for fish, even if there were no detectable radiation from them.
As for suicide, I think Ahmadinejad and the mad Mullahs are perfectly happy to send their population to their 72 virgins; Islam would survive, and they'd be martyrs in paradise.
If a dirty bomb were set off in NYC, there probably would be comparatively few people with real health effects, but NY real estate would be worth less than when it was bought from the Indians.

Where is the source they opened a container? They had the special locks that couldn't be opened without blowing them. The pirates were somewhat reluctant to do that.
If they didn't open a container, but still got sick, then the ship is very hot, or at least part of it. Maybe the bad containers are in the bow, with several rows of ones filled with leaded concrete to shield the crew. In any case, it would be enough to detect from submarines, UAVs, helicopters, etc.

It also becomes a financial catastrophe. Nobody talks about the drag on our economy defending ourselves from islamic terrorists. A dirty bomb in NYC? We're talking trillions and trillions here.
Not just for your economy - for the rest of the world as well.
NYC is one of the most important, if not the most important money markets of the world. The consequences for the other money markets and thus their economies would be incalculable.
The Iranian and egyptian mullahs are already jubilating about the financial crisis, as it is - you can imagine what would happen in the ME if a dirty bomb were to hit NYC ...

That guy had no outside links or evidence to back up his claim. Just because he typed it up and put it on the web doesn't make it true.
Claiming that there's a conspiracy (especially without proof) only compounds the problem. The stupid republicans getting hysterical at these rallies are not going to magically disappear if you imagine them to be Obatron plants. Also we are going to look even dumber by concocting a conspiracy to blame our poorly informed voters on some secret liberal plan.
Given the kind of behavior the Dems have engaged in this campaign cycle, I think the guy is on to something. The McCain campaign needs to do a better job of screening questions at the townhalls. If they do that they may very well find something like this is going on.

TEHRAN, Iran: Iran's state radio says Iran has paid Somali pirates to secure the release of 29 seamen and their cargo ship hijacked in July.
[Link: www.iht.com...]
I'm really intrigued now; will that ship now sail to Iran - or will it be allowed through the Suez Canal?

What if the government would ask for elderly to do decontamination, esp if they were already terminal? Before you slam me for this, this has been a consideration for other projects, using the elderly as crewmen for the atomic powered plane (50's design and program-never completed). Would expect to see a Kennedy-esque 'ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country' moment. He said the crewmen were 'safe and in good condition' onboard the Iranian vessel, which was expected to reach Oman's capital Muscat by Monday.
On August 21, pirates hijacked the ship, along with its crew and 42,500 tons of minerals and industrial products in the Gulf of Aden off Somalia's coast.
The pirates, who usually take hostages to receive a good ransom, finally released Dianat on Friday after seven weeks of negotiations.

What?
The Chicago machine delivered massive numbers of dead voters for the Dem ticket. And the rural counties in south Texas did their part for "Landslide Lyndon", by coming up with more Dem voters than they had residents. Either state would have carried the election for Nixon. President Eisenhower wanted Nixon to contest the election, on the basis that JFK/LBJ had won through fraud, but Nixon declined because he didn't want to put the country through something so divisive. No good deed goes unpunished.

Agree in principle with what you say.
And its no good howling about conspiracies without any proof.
However - being a bit suspicious that such astroturfing might be possible, and that vigilance might not be a bad idea is certainly not a bad attitude to have.
I'm just reading this amazing autobiography 'Out of the Night', by jan Valten, which a Lizard recommended. Its by a German communist who ended up in the USA and wrote this in 1941.

Fund didn't get out 15 seconds of commentary without that candyass douchebag Levenson interrupting him. What a fuc*ing asshole Scott Levenson is; this guy represents the a truly disgusting organization that is conducting voter fraud in the US.
Disagree on a dynamic that has hobbled self-destructively well mannered conservative spokespeople for years. If anyone has his opportunity to speak taken away in a debate by his opponent, the asshole is the person who refuses to politely assert himself and claim his time.
Bush remained in the defensive crouch while the MSM was happy to step in and write their own Iraq narrative, and now the economic narrative, through the end of his presidency. McCain is in the defensive crouch as the nation is on the brink of literally being stolen away from us by leftists and their uneducated, useful idiot allies. We cannot afford to have independent rightwing voices silenced as easily as they are in even friendly venues.
Fund disgusted me when given precious time on Hannity to present the thesis from his book, 'Stealing Elections'. When the Dem participants interrupted (as always) to demand support for his claims, Fund was totally unprepared; unable even to present footnotes of evidence from his own work! All Fund could do was make a lame promise to email his cites to Colmes after the show. What a waste of an opportunity we can ill afford to squander =(

If O is elected, he will be seen the same way.
Assuming an Obama presidency, does anyone want to take odds on how many days after Jan. 20th it will take for the Red Army to overrun the rest of Georgia? Say daybreak, local time, of the 21st?

Okay, another point! :D
I think we should all keep in mind how the msm continually evades any negative evidence concerning Obama and conversely how they magnify the slightest bit of negative evidence concerning McCain or Palin. This goes on day-after-day, week-after-week, month-after-month. They even create things out of whole cloth (e.g. the charge or racism against Palin).
This sort of behavior creates pent up frustration, which has to explode. This is only natural and it's quite right to be outraged. What the msm then does is pretend to be shocked that anyone is outraged, and they turn themselves and their favorite candidate into the victims. Conversely, they believe vilifying Palin and McCain is just dandy. I mean, they really are good at smearing innocent people.
The solution to all of this is to do honest and objective reporting. We know that won’t happen in this day and age, so we have to keep on fighting them, and not back down because of their underhanded tactics.
What keeps me on track are the following:
1> I always follow reason. I apply logic and look at the evidence always.
2> Individual rights is my standard for proper government. I use that template all the time to evaluate the goodness or badness of a government policy.
If people did these things, they wouldn’t be bothered by the media’s craziness, in that they wouldn’t back down from a principled fight. They’d fight with more determination. In addition, if a mistake is made concerning the evidence or logic you make sure you correct it, so that you’re always just in your claims, because you want to be right, and you want a clear conscience.
Just some thoughts I thought I'd pass on.

In the early days of thermonuclear weapons, when they could not be made very small, it was thought to make them very very large instead, and detonate them in a port. A whole ship would be the bomb. This was called "the gigaton mine".
I'm just saying.

My sister is union and she has never voted for a Republican. She said there is no way she's voting for the O.
I just received an e-mail from my pacifist candy-ass union president who was asking for the telephone bank volunteers (for gee, guess which candidate). I don't get involved in these things because of the hate mail it generates from colleagues (yes at a college), but responded to the e-mail with a very short comment: "sure, and when I call, I'll tell them to vote for another candidate."
Well, did I get an earful. Some democracy. I'm sure that I'm not alone ,but boy, unions can certainly misrepresent their members and try intimidation if they don't go along.

Just got this email from the Turn MN Red group, but it applies to any state:
1. WRITE A LETTER TO THE EDITOR. Support John McCain and Sarah Palin or your local MN House and U.S. Congress candidates. Then post your letter on the discussion board to share it with us!
[Link: www.gop.com...]
2. VOLUNTEER. The donation of your time is the most critical. Even 1 hour of time spent volunteering at your local Victory Office can help turn Minnesota RED! Making telephone calls, dropping literature, and more! This is a great chance to meet other Republicans in your area!
Make phone calls from a phone bank to people in your area who share your values and concerns. Go door-knocking to hand out materials and share your values and concerns with your neighbors. Drop literature or post flyers around your neighborhood. Fundraise to support candidates
[Link: www.mngop.com...]
3. GET CREATIVE. Make your own "Why I'm voting for McCain/Palin" video! Post it on YouTube, then use the "Posted Items" area at the bottom of the group's page to share it with our group!
4. SIGN UP FOR GOP MOBILE UPDATES.
Get breaking news messages and action alerts!
[Link: secure.gop.com...]
**Also, don't forget to set aside some time to volunteer during the 72-hour Get Out The Vote (GOTV) drive before and on Election Day! We'll need POLL WATCHERS (to work to prevent voter fraud!), phone callers, lit droppers, sign wavers, etc.**

re: #314 Son of the Black Dog
The Chicago machine delivered massive numbers of dead voters for the Dem ticket. And the rural counties in south Texas did their part for "Landslide Lyndon", by coming up with more Dem voters than they had residents. Either state would have carried the election for Nixon. President Eisenhower wanted Nixon to contest the election, on the basis that JFK/LBJ had won through fraud, but Nixon declined because he didn't want to put the country through something so divisive. No good deed goes unpunished.
JFK got his term shortened unnaturally, and Nixon got Watergated. I guess they both did not do well.

Dems are betting around half of the strategic farm on psyops tactics and a friendly MSM, about the only way you could possibly get such a far left candidate within a mile of the Oval office.
Despite our horror at the lack of McCain aggressivity, the best setup for a Republican win this year involves a conservative electorate energized through fear of an Obama win (to get the highest turnout of the base to the polls), an independent voter force completely UNAFRAID of the Republican party's candidate being a stealth far-right activist, a high margin of victory seeming guaranteed to Obama (to de-motivate newly registered, unreliable Dem youth & inner city voters on election day), and a candidate who seems the saner, more moderate, and safer of the two.
Don't give up for a moment lizard empire!

radical students begat Wm. Ayers,
Wm. Ayers begat Obama,

Sen. John McCain's 2006 demand for regulatory action on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac could have prevented current financial crisis.
McCain's letter -- signed by nineteen other senators -- said that it was "...vitally important that Congress take the necessary steps to ensure that [Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac]...operate in a safe and sound manner.[and]..More importantly, Congress must ensure that the American taxpayer is protected in the event that either...should fail."
Sen. Obama did not sign the letter, nor did any other Democrat.
