why not panic
if McCain won't campaign the way the left is
and by the way, the left appears to be winning

then he has no chance
8 years of constant Bush (and Republican) bashing has proven a great success for the media and democrat alliance

McCain has to go negative or lose
the "best" thing about McCain going negative is:

it's all true
Obama is a total slimeball
the party is corrupt
ACORN, Hamas, Wright, Rezko, Fannie/Freddie etc, etc, etc.

even Dick Morris says negative campaigning works
and given Bush's polling numbers
you gotta believe it too

70 CapeCoddah  Mon, Oct 13, 2008 4:16:57pm

To: All Company Employee
Subject: Early Retirement

As a result of the reduction of money budgeted for department areas, we are forced to cut down on our number of personnel. Under this plan, older employees will be asked to take early retirement, thus permitting the retention of younger people who represent our future. Therefore, a program to phase out older personnel by the end of the current fiscal year, via retirement, will be placed into effect immediately.

This program will be known as SLAP (Sever Late-Aged Personnel). Employees who are SLAPPED will be given the opportunity to look for jobs outside the company. SLAPPED employees can request a review of their employment records before actual retirement takes place. This review phase of the program is called SCREW. SCREW (Survey of Capabilities of Retired Early Workers).

All employees who have been SLAPPED and SCREWED may file an appeal with upper management. This appeal is called SHAFT (Study by Higher Authority Following Termination). Under the terms of the new policy, an employee may be SLAPPED once, SCREWED twice, but may be SHAFTED as many times as the company deems appropriate. If an employee follows the above procedure, he/she will be entitled to get:
HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel's Early Severance) or CLAP (Combined Lump sum Assistance Payment).

As HERPES and CLAP are considered benefit plans, any employee who has received HERPES or CLAP will no longer be SLAPPED or SCREWED by the company. Management wishes to assure the younger employees who remain on board that the company will continue its policy of training employees through our: Special High Intensity Training (SHIT).

We take pride in the amount of SHIT our employees receive. We have given our employees more SHIT than any company in this area. If any employee feels they do not receive enough SHIT on the job, see your immediate supervisor.

Your supervisor is specially trained to make sure you receive all the SHIT you can stand.

And, once again, thanks for all your years of service with us.

Signed: The Management

Obama offered more free stuff in order to win votes today. One truly idiotic idea is to remove penalties for early withdrawals from retirement accounts. It is so unfortunate that many people will fall for such a thing if it is passed. Notice only the 10% penalty is dropped, not the TAXES. This is a sneaky way to raise tax revenue. People will withdraw their retirement savings and once again ruin their future to support their present lifestyles. This is exactly how we got into the current mess in the first place.
These accounts can already by accessed under certain hardship conditions, or by paying the penalty. Opening the door wider will kill the savings rate just when we need to be saving more.

OK, one more for the pet lovers:
Dear Dog and/or Cat,

When I say to move, it means go someplace else, not switch positions with each other so there are still two of you in the way.

The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food.. (Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate & food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food & dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.)

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king size bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue to sleep on the couch to ensure your comfort. Look at videos of dogs and cats sleeping. They can actually curl up in a ball. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. (I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space used is nothing but sarcasm.)

My compact discs are not miniature Frisbees.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob, or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. (In addition, I have been using the bathroom for years. (Canine or feline attendance is not mandatory.)

The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dogs' or cats' butts. I cannot stress this enough. It would be such a simple change for you.

To pacify you I have posted the following message on our front door: Rules for non-pet owners who visit and like to complain about our pets:
1. They live here. You don't.
2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture.
3. I like my pet better than I like most people.
4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours, and is speech challenged. Dogs and cats are better than kids. They eat less, don't ask for money all the time, are easier to train, usually come when called, never drive your car, don't hang out with drug using friends, don't drink or smoke, don't worry about buying the latest fashions, don't wear your clothes, don't need a gazillion dollars for college, and if they get pregnant, you can sell the results.

Signed
Your Owner

If they're registering them as Democrats, yes, possibly. Depends on whether the state registers by party or not. Pollsters try to weight by party registration. But to really skew the national polls you would need huge numbers.

Don't Panic,
Unless you are Female, Obama wins, and he reinstates the draft:

Even as the U.S. confronts two long wars, neither Sen. John McCain nor Sen. Barack Obama believes the country should take the politically perilous step of reviving the military draft.

But the two presidential candidates disagree on a key foundation of any future draft: Mr. Obama supports a requirement for both men and women to register with the Selective Service, while Mr. McCain doesn't think women should have to register.

Also, Mr. Obama would consider officially opening combat positions to women. Mr. McCain would not.

"Women are already serving in combat [in Iraq and Afghanistan] and the current policy should be updated to reflect realities on the ground," said Wendy Morigi, Mr. Obama's national security spokeswoman. "Barack Obama would consult with military commanders to review the constraints that remain."

According to his campaign, Mr. McCain supports the current Department of Defense restrictions on women in combat units, including armor, field artillery and special forces.

That's what I was wondering earlier, cf. I posted a link of a story about one man who had filled out 73 voter registration cards (yes ACORN). In return, the ACORN folks gave him 20 bucks and a pack of cigarettes.

This is the guy they reported on - there are federal investigations of ACORN going on in 10 states right now, IIRC.

The pollsters base their sampling numbers on estimates of dems/indies/repubs. They're polling a significant number more of democrats than they are republicans, probably due to the new registrations, many brought in by ACORN.

Koskidz reframe domestic terrorism.....
Reality Check - Bill Ayers a "domestic terrorist"?

Timothy McVeigh was a domestic terrorist. The Weather Underground were radical activists. What's the difference between a radical activist and a terrorist? Propaganda.

When I learned about the Weather Underground in school (because it was that long ago), they were "radical activists". In my textbook, they were in the same chapter as many peaceful civil rights activists of the 1960's, such as Martin Luther King Jr, with the exception being they were frustrated by the lack of results from peaceful demonstrations and unfortunately turned to violence. People seem to have forgotten, but there was a lot more violence in those days, and it was usually in the form of a very unpopular war in Vietnam, riot police beating protestors and the KKK burning down churches. So when a handful of college kids try to bomb empty buildings for attention, it's not the same as the cowards that planned 9/11!

It is true, people were hurt in those bombings, and I am NOT in any way justifying the violent acts committed by the Weather Underground (which Obama also condemned). Regardless of your opinion about radical activists, Bill Ayers never set any bombs, he turned himself in and was never convicted of anything. He was basically a confused kid, and forty years later, is now a respected professor with ties to many people in his community, including many respected Democrats AND Republicans. To call him a "domestic terrorist" is really a stretch, and to try to link him to Obama is a further stretch.

In the post 9/11 world, shameless politicians try to scare up votes by exploiting the word "terror". They are just trying to link Obama to terrorism, and it's a shady way of playing the race card.

Progressive!

A conversation I just had regarding some ridiculous video one of my friends shared on their Facebook. I claimed that the video was bogus, so she checked it out. I'm "A", she's "B".
--------------------
B: k i watched the first 2 seconds
B: i can't stand sarah palin
B: i don't wanna hear her talk
A: may i ask why?
B: i just can't stand the way she talks
A: so thats it lol
B: she gets on my nerves
B: im sorry
A:lol
B: i know u love her
A: listening to her has no bearing on what she's actually saying
A: but whatever
A: there are lots of annoying voices around
B: i know
B: but besides her voice
B: i just don't like what she says
A: if anything
A: knowing YOU
A: im shocked that you're not full-on in support of her
B: why
A: because you're a strong-willed woman
A: and she is too
A: she cant stand bullshit
A: and neither can you
B: that's very true
A: she's smart, sexy
A: she's like
A: the embodiment of feminism
B: lol
B: u have ur opinions on her
B: i personally don't like her
B: and bc i care about our friendship
B: lol
B: im gonna leave it at that
A: its ok
B: bc i know how passionate u are about it
-------------------

It's absurd. Then she said that "All I know is, whoever is our next President, needs to fix this economy because it's ridiculous." I then explained to her a bit about ACORN, and FM/FM/Obama/126k, etc. She had to leave but showed some interest.

It's just sad how little people know, and how superficial people can be.

Just watched another one of the O's commericals here in PA.

Did you know that McCain's tax plan will cost 3.4 trillion dollars?

/ If you assume that cutting taxes always leads to less treasury revenue using static scoring (bad assumption). btw, how much will O's "tax cuts" (ahem, "refundible tax credits) cost?

Did you know that McCain's corporate tax cut plan will cost another 1 trillion dollars?

/Same arguement as above, only with the added cavot that the US has the 2nd highest (I believe) corporate tax rate which may be a factor as to why companies move overseas.

McCain is going to win. After two trips in 3 days to bitter clinger land, I am convinced of it.

Shoot, we know the media lies about everything else. They're lying about the polls. Obama is profoundly unelectable--the most liberal member of the senate, on record as voting in favor of literal infanticide, on the record as a gun grabber, terrible associations, and connections to voter fraud. No democrat has EVER won running as a liberal, and Obama's socialism is a matter of record.

Turnout will be EVERYTHING, but I am going on the record here.

By November 5, it will be clear that McCain/Palin won, decisively.

I don't see it like that, folks have differing interests. Think about a different time in your life when you didn't follow. Bad example, as you probably always followed politics. Most folks have lives beyond what we live. This is our TV.

I have a very active life outside of any political interest. But I do pay close attention to politics. Have I always been that way? No. When I was still a Dem, I could have cared less about following an election - just went to the voting booth and voted Dem. I don't think I was unusual and I know lots of people today who do the same thing. It's annoying that they vote in ignorance, but it happens.

How would the pollsters know if they're newly registered. And are'nt the samplings supposed to be somewhat balanced between D and R? I'm no statistition, but it looks like there are no rules in which to play this game.

225 Intrepid  Mon, Oct 13, 2008 5:00:23pm

re: #143 rightymouse

It's disturbing to me that after all this time during the election cycle, there are still people who haven't got a bloody clue about the candidates, that they need to watch a debate to figure things out.

Actually, rm, I have a theory about that. The undecideds may break after the last debate, but only a small percentage of them will. The others will wait until the last few days before the election.

If Mac stays steady in his campaign events, and if Sarah keeps getting those big crowds and keeps pounding on Obama like she's done, and if the market evens out a bit more, then the undecideds will break for Mac, in big numbers.

I am of the belief that when people say a candidate needs to "knock it out of the park or he's done", they're really saying they are needing to feel personally reassured and need to vicariously get in some punches against the opponent.

Kinda like going to a hockey game when you're stressed: to see one player bash another up against the boards and knock each other silly is kinda cathartic.

John McCain doesn't have the charisma to charm his way through a debate as Reagan did against Mondale, nor does he have the quick, rapier wit of Reagan when the Gipper trounced Carter in their debate.

What McCain can do is be steady and calm while explaining how his policies will be better for us than Obama's, while zinging Obama with critiques of the O's policies (i.e he was totally against a bailout moratorium when Hillary suggested it in the primary, now he's touting it as his idea), and getting in a couple solid punches on Obama's associations.

If Mac does this, he will project strength, while Obama will show weakness.

We may not like a calm, even-keeled McCain - hell, we want him to rip Obama's head off and spit down his neck! But undecideds will move towards McCain's strength of conviction and resoluteness. It will resonate with them more than a slug fest will.

People are looking for a port in this turbulent and uncertain economic sea. John McCain is a safe port, Obama is a silted over harbor.

Hope you're right. Even being present in the hallowed halls of academia (albeit a small institution), the O craze is palpable.

/About O? "He just wants to be a hero", "he doesn't care about money", ad infinitum.

A lot of them won't bother to vote. I think Michael Moore himself said he didn't in 2000. Bitter clingers see it as a privilege and a duty. I was in an area today that's poor, rural, agricultural. Despite what we knew about Kerry in 2004, there were a LOT of signs for him back then in these areas. He didn't wear what he was on his sleeve. There's not nearly as many Obama signs this time. Again, it's all going to be about turnout, but McCain is going to win.

re: #13 Adrenalyn

why not panic
if McCain won't campaign the way the left is
and by the way, the left appears to be winning

then he has no chance
8 years of constant Bush (and Republican) bashing has proven a great success for the media and democrat alliance

McCain has to go negative or lose
the "best" thing about McCain going negative is:

it's all true
Obama is a total slimeball
the party is corrupt
ACORN, Hamas, Wright, Rezko, Fannie/Freddie etc, etc, etc.

even Dick Morris says negative campaigning works
and given Bush's polling numbers
you gotta believe it too

The left bitched enough and now McCain has gone all smiley and positive. You all let me know how that works for him. Before the gunfight at the OK Corral, maybe Wyatt Earp should have shown up with a knife. And this comment got a lot of down dings.

A buddy of mine used to live very close to the university here, one block from campus. In the last election, his truck was vandalized the election night right after Bush won.

Since he was in the "student ghetto," he decided to call the university newspaper and report politically motivated vandalism. The reporter (a woman) was VERY interested. He got through the whole story, explained how the windows were smashed specifically over the political stickers (rock on each side smashing out the stickers). Reporter was stoked. He then added, "I can't believe someone would vandalize my new truck over Bush and NRA stickers."

Long pause.

Heh. It was a lovely day today. I was being really quiet, watching the trout and bluegill swim, and I heard a rustling and looked across the stream and saw an ENORMOUS squirrel, then a few minutes later a deer ran through the hills.

I thought about Lewis and Clark, and the awe-struck way they wrote about the bounty of the land they passed through.

I love Missouri, and am continually amazed and renewed by nature.

Oh, Paladine,

One of my best memories is riding across Missouri on the Katy Trail with a BOB trailer behind my bike, often edging the river and following the route of Louis and Clark. I should do this again.

O'Reilly just showed an unscientific poll. The question was: "If you were betting today, who would you bet would win the election?"

It was McCain 66, Obama 34.

Interesting. That's also close to Drudge's poll after the last debate between McCain and Obama.

What McCain has to do is remember that he's running for President, not Senate Minority Leader. If he focuses on that, and tells the country how he will handle our more pressing problems as President, everything should fall into place.

When we were aasked as a whole to give examples of the differences between Mac and Bambi, I was expecting a chorus of Obamadrioism. The funniest scene I saw was at a local Target years ago, I was going through the pet section when I spied a young lad perhaps fours year old, surprised to hear a large minah bird talking to him. Corsi said he was detained while in Kenya but was to arrive back in the States this past Saturday and then promised Hannity he would appear on his show Monday (today) and tell all. I tell all my Lib friends what's coming, to "listen" to Hannity today. Well, here we are, its Monday, I listened to his radio show today and not one word about Corsi ! WTF ? No matter what may have delayed an appearance from Corsi (if this is the case) I find it really strange that Hannity did not mention a word about Corsi or last weeks "news"/phone call.Of course I didn't literally hear every single word but after the build up Friday, you'd think this would be the "hot" topic today ! So, ACORN's at it again. 2,100 for 2,100 in Lake County.

100% rejection rate.

I don't think you can do a better job of complete moral bankruptcy.

Of course, we're talking about the very heart of our little experiment in democracy - the right to vote, and these criminal enterprises are engaging in a very blatant attempt to thwart our right to vote.

I wonder why these investigations haven't occurred sooner. Has it gotten so blatantly obvious that they were engaging in fraud and hoping to stuff ballots that investigators had no choice but to act?

I have an idea of what one defense will be - and it's based on my recollection of past instances where ACORN was involved in bogus registrations. They'll claim that individual canvassers saw a profit motive in adding to the numbers of registrations, so they engaged in a bit of creative accounting - adding dead people, multiple names signed by the same individual, etc.

No. Dems, blinded by hubris, honestly believe they are six points up. They're not, of course. Remember the 2004 final poll numbers -- EVERY major polling firm overestimated Kerry's vote total by a fraction of a percent to more than three percent.

If the Dems were smart, they'd discount the pollster's numbers by at least three percent.

And then there is the Bradley effect (a measure of political correctness, not racism.) Who knows if this is true.

And, of course, there is the problem with tilting the polls with the expectation that this year will be a transitional year with a HUGE, unprecedented and ahistoric surge in Dem ID. And who really believes that?

Not I.

From the bottom of your Gallup link:

In addition to sampling error, question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce error or bias into the findings of public opinion polls.

The galactic message of the day in the UK is don't attempt to correct children. Excerpt:

Stephan Toth acted after the 13-year-old threatened his wife Selina, who has cancer.

Mr Toth put his hands on the boy's shoulders and guided him to his mother's house, where he explained to her what her son had done. He then went home, only for the police to call at his flat and arrest him.

The 34-year-old father of one was kept in a dirty cell for eight hours and interviewed for two hours before being charged with common assault.

After a three-month wait he was convicted and given an absolute discharge, leaving him with a criminal record.

As Dalrymple would say, "our culture, what's left of it."

We've come to a point where every four years this national fever rises up — this hunger for the Saviour, the White Knight, the Man on Horseback — and whoever wins becomes so immensely powerful, like Nixon is now, that when you vote for President today you're talking about giving a man dictatorial power for four years. I think it might be better to have the President sort of like the King of England — or the Queen — and have the real business of the presidency conducted by... a City Manager-type, a Prime Minister, somebody who's directly answerable to Congress, rather than a person who moves all his friends into the White House and does whatever he wants for four years. The whole framework of the presidency is getting out of hand. It's come to the point where you almost can't run unless you can cause people to salivate and whip each other with big sticks. You almost have to be a rock star to get the kind of fever you need to survive in American politics.

Radio and TV have crushed much of the local distinciveness. Pirates are practical people, like physicians. "Does that hurt? Does that hurt? It does? Good, now tell me where the money is." You get the drift. Soon they will all be working for the new Ministry of Fairness.

Hoopster: What? why are you calling?

Scratch: Hello? who is this? shut up just listen..It's getting really cold down here..what the hell is going on?
Hoopster: mmmm maybe it's because the Cleveland Browns are playing really good football on monday night?
Scratch: whew..ok then.. I know that can't last for long...
Click!
Hoopster: Hello? Hello?

If memory serves me, the Cleveland Browns were playing really good football in the '90s.
They had the Broncos on the two yard line with five minutes left to play, ahead 20-13.
In the huddle, John Elway said what McCain said today:

"We've got them right where we want them".

Broncos won the game in overtime.

A ten foot piece of rope, one of those screw in anchors for a dog run and a motion sensor light.

Place the sign inside the trip point for the motion light.

Plant the anchor and attach the rope to it and the frame of the sign.

The light tripping on, will make them run a little faster with the sign and when the hit the end of the rope it will look like Foghorn Leghorn and the dog from Looney Tunes.

Catching up on my newspaper reading - last Friday, this letter was published by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune:

If the unthinkable occurs and Barack Obama is injured or killed, the inflammatory comments made by Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin that provoked her supporters to yell "terrorist" and "kill him" need to be addressed. She should legally be constrained as being an accessort before the fact, as should John McCain for not prohibiting the inciting venom that spews forth from her mouth.

I bet if something awful were to happen to Palin, this woman would not hold folks like Sandra Bernhard or Obama supporters who wear certain t-shirts responsible.

Which had wooden desks with pre-1900 names and dates carved into them, and
blue dip-pen inkwells from pre-WWI, and
teachers who expected LISTENING students, not Yanks with questions; and
lavatories that BURNED MY EYES from the ammonia and uric acid of decades; and
headmasters who CANED inquisitive boys who made the teacher look bad by asking impertinent questions that the teacher answered incorrectly or angrily blustered out of answering; and

and if THIS qualifies as 'Comprehensive Education' then I got it, Life! :D

I know exactly who Phil Keating is. He used to work in Denver - out of the local Fox 13 station. (Not to be confused with FOX cable network). Our local fox 13 is THE most biased local news station. When the non-story about Palin broke a few days ago, the anchors were overtly giddy - falling all over themselves with glee mentioning that Sarah had "abused her power..." (Libby Weaver and Ron Zapolo) (both left-wing democrat a-holes).
Anyway - Phil worked there a few years back.
The whole outfit is an in-the-tank for the Democrats operation.

Glad you told him off! that makes my day!

Catching up on my newspaper reading - last Friday, this letter was published by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune:

I bet if something awful were to happen to Palin, this woman would not hold folks like Sandra Bernhard or Obama supporters who wear certain t-shirts responsible.

That notion is ridiculous.

See what I did there?

You should have heard him....asking me if I thought the American Revolutionaries were terrorists?...what's wrong with ACORN...they registered 1.2 million voters?...Bill Ayers and his buddies stopped the Vietnam war..what's wrong with that?!
Can you believe that shit?
I was trying to keep my voice down cause I was in the middle of the room with him and other volunteers were making phone calls for McCain.
Then he mentioned something about the people at the McCain rallies shouting out "kill him'' and the other stuff.....in which I rebutted "well, what about the Obama supporters with the Tshirts with the "c..nt" word on it? then he asked me if I would be one of these 'radical' people? That's when I said "yeah, when I think about scum like Bill Ayers standing on the American flag...the flag that my father fought for and sat in a prison camp for.....yeah, I guess then that I would be considered a radical....cause I would fight anyone I would see who would do that".
He changed his tune with me after that......and stopped with his phony act.

Wait, WHAT!?! I take back that bourgeois comment. You're not bourgeois, you're just plain evil and subhuman. At least tell me you drink beer.

You know I'm joking with you right?

But exploding is the whole point.

One minute you are a sane rational human being and then a sip later, your whole universe explodes in a blinding flash of "OHMYGODWHATTHEFRAPHAVEIDONETOMYBRAIN?! " and then, well, there often is no "then" after that.

You have a very good point there, Syrah.

Good to see you tonight.

The a-holes on the far left are now defending Ayres.
Ayres should be rotting in prision next to the shoe bomber.
Well - if you see him again tell him a Colorado resident remembers him and is sickened by the unprofessional bias at his former Fox 13 station.

Yeah, I have some wanna- be hippy neighbors ..Obama supporters (actually the guy is an administrator of a private school, the wife is a Harvard educated author..she can't seem to find a publisher....she actually sits home all day...walks her dog...pretty much doesn't do anything)....anyway, my husband got into it with 'her'....says he didn't leave a socialist country (Germany) to come here and have that happen here. She finally ended up saying that "yeah, then I guess I'm a socialist". What kills me is that she is from a wealthy family from Palm Beach (similar to Bill Ayer's situation)...I'll never understand these spoiled brats!
Now we've got a sign war going on, on our street.......first I had a McCain sign...then these 'hippies' got their Obama sign, then my neighbor across the street asked me for another McCain sign (which I gave her), then another neighbor down the street put up his Obama sign...then ANOTHER neighbor asked me for another McCain sign! Today I went to the campaign office to get 3 more signs for the other Repubs on the street! Ha!
Things are heating up in this neighborhood!

I am panicked.....
I have to vote tomorrow.
My choices
The Incumbent Progressive Conservative who has the personality of....of....hell I don't know anyone that lackluster
A Liberal who is a immigrant from France...nothing more to say here
A New Democrat who I could vote for if it wasn't for his support of Palestine, muslim immigration, massive spending..etc etc
Or one of those Green People who run around like chicken little claiming the sky is falling an it's all our fault.

OK who should I choose?

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

662 FrogMarch  Mon, Oct 13, 2008 7:32:07pm
What you're feeling right now is not natural. It's the result of prolonged exposure to harmful radiation from a highly toxic, media-infected presidential campaign. Symptoms may include nausea, sweating, constant checking of poll results, dizziness, fever, irritation at glaring double standards, coughing, Googling, loss of appetite, bewilderment at a world seemingly gone mad, vaginal dryness, and Drudge.

that's true.

In the final 3 weeks it might be a good time to up your intake of potassium.

Did McCain get any camera time today? Is it me or didn't it seem like That One Barack got more lens and mike time.

I have hundreds of limes on my tree that need to be picked and used ... now.

You might try making some marmalade -- I've never tried that, but I've done other kinds of homemade fruit jams before, and generally speaking they're pretty easy.

I'd prefer Zaphod to 0bama!

Imagine a bureaucracy under 0bama? Full of Vogons!
(BTW, was 0's poem as bad as the Vogon's? I didn't read it)

Vogon poetry, is of course, the third worst in the universe. 0bama's poetry only manages to pull up just behind their's as fourth worst in the universe. The second worst being the poets among the Asgoth's of Creer, of whom Grunthos the Flatulent stands out at their head. And of course the worst poetry in the universe is that of Paul Neil Milne Johnstone of Redbridge, UK.

"Don't Panic"? My sweet donkey! It's definitely time to panic.

As my brother told me yesterday, "I've lost half my net worth...and I'm still married!"

But you DO understand these spoiled brats. They are.....spoiled brats!

Charles....what happened to the quote marks and boldface symbols so that I could put them in my comment?

676 Promethea  Mon, Oct 13, 2008 10:04:21pm

As usual, I have an unerring instinct to post at the end of a dead thread.

Is there some way I could put this amazing talent to use and make some money?

Please advise.

Thanks.

It really is good for you!

682 AZDave  Tue, Oct 14, 2008 12:03:08pm

Sorry, people, but the time has come to panic and panic big time. McCain is running this campaign with his head up his ass! He should be points a head not points behind. Comrade Obama (and his running companion, Comrade Biden) are plain out and out socialists if not just plain commies. I'm scared shitless!

683 Coloradojim  Tue, Oct 14, 2008 1:36:57pm

I'll just kick back with a couple of Pangalacticgargleblasters and watch the show. This thing is on autopilot, just like the Disaster Area robot ship.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but notice how old and scratched that "Don't Panic" button is...

At one time, right after the convention, I wasn't panicked. In fact, I was pretty confident. Things were going well.

Since then, McCain has been a major disappointment. What's wrong with this guy? Just when he was beginning to hit Obama the way he needed to, all of a sudden he changes course and starts telling us Obama is a good guy and we're all wrong for being against him. Huh?

At this point, I'm so disgusted with McCain, I almost think it's time to let him lose and go vote for a third party.

I've gone from being enthused, to worried, to scared to now just being resigned and disgusted.
