It might be a good idea in the future to link to a live feed rather than feeding it so that the comment activity can run normally. I'm spending most of my time having to reconnect to LGF from scratch after I hit "new comments" or "preview" more than once. I'm not even running the live feed through my PC and it feels like I've gone back to a dialup modem.

Most of the books are either filled with PC garbage (no math) or are so junked up with flashy photos and confusing exercises that a student can't focus. Look at foreign math books: in Japan, it is a law--no more than 4 colors in a math book and no pictures unless they are there to illustrate an exercise. Now, look at their scores!

In college, I got stuck with a teacher who picked the trig book because (I kid you not) it had balloons on the cover, and he liked balloons. Unfortunately, he knew even less avout traching trig than he did about anything else. The book was full of 'cute" story problems that would have been ideal for first-graders, but this was in second-year college. I flunked the course, but so did everyone else- in every class he taught.
