JihadTV on Sarah Palin

World | Thu, Oct 16, 2008 at 11:54:38 am PDT

Now showing up on lefty blogs, the following Al Jazeera English report from a Sarah Palin rally in Ohio. Are you surprised that Al Jazeera managed to find racists and Christian extremists in the crowd?

Youtube Video

A little reminder to those who are taking this Al Jazeera report at face value: Al Jazeera English is the slick, sanitized version of the Arab network that recently hosted a mind-bendingly depraved birthday party for convicted child murderer Samir Kuntar, after Israel released him from prison in an exchange: Video: Al Jazeera Throws Party for Child Killer.

Just as it’s important for the right to denounce bogus rumors from questionable sources, I hope at least some of the more honest lefties will reconsider using lurid propaganda from what is essentially a Muslim Brotherhood front.

(I know; don’t hold my breath.)

Hmmmmm....Al Jazeera supporting Obama...oh yeah, I'm voting Obama because AJ told me about Sarah Palin.

7 hazzyday  Thu, Oct 16, 2008 11:58:27am

My media equivalence to them is that they are the same sort of people who photoshop anti Americans into their presentations and who photoshop unveiled women out of their photos.

If Sen. McCain rallies are racist then Sen Obama is most certainly a full blown practicing in public radical Muslim.

8 gonecamping  Thu, Oct 16, 2008 11:58:34am

Had I just awoke from a long coma and heard Al Jazeera bashing Palin, that would be enough for my vote. If the terrorist tv network hate her she must be on the side of good not evil.

Well, it's not because he's a Mohammedan. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but Hussein Obama isn't a Mohammedan. Al Jazeera supports him because he is an anti-American. That's OK.

Just don't mistake him for a Mohammedan.

This misguided measure passed the House shortly after Democrats took the majority in 2007. But it needs several more votes in the Senate and a president who will sign it. Barack Obama supports it; John McCain does not. It’s no surprise, then, that the AFL-CIO plans to spend an eye-popping $200 million this election cycle to support Obama and Democratic candidates for Congress. A win for Obama and big gains for Senate Democrats could remove the remaining obstacles to the euphemistically named “Employee Free Choice Act.”
Cajoled choice is more like it. The proposed change would give unions and pro-union employees more incentive to use peer pressure, or worse, to persuade reluctant workers to sign their cards. And without elections, workers who weren’t contacted by union organizers would have no say in the final outcome.

Labor leaders, such as AFL-CIO President John Sweeney in the space below, argue that the proposed law wouldn’t prohibit private balloting. This is accurate but misleading. Union organizers would have no reason to seek an election if they had union cards signed by more than 50% of workers. And if they had less than a majority, they’d be unlikely to call for a vote they’d probably lose.

re: #53 buzzsawmonkey

People who dislike Obama have just as much right to vote against him solely on the basis of his race as those who fervently support him solely on the basis of his race have the right to vote for him.

I'd prefer that the racists on both sides made their decisions on a different basis, but there are plenty of people who vote on the basis of such shallow things, including whether a candidate is handsome, or has a pleasing manner, rather than the issues.

The great thing about freedom is that people are free to make decisions on whatever basis--stupid or cogent--that they prefer. For over 200 years, it has been possible to trust the good sense of most of the people, most of the time; may the validity of that great leap of faith continue.

You are so right but I do have a question? How many people have actually said they were voting for or against him strictly because of his race? I know the O camp is tossing the race card around like it was rice at a wedding, but I have not seen any real evidence of it. IMHO, the folks who want him are those looking for an expanded welfare system...regardless what race they are. I certainly don't want to be labeled as a racist because I despise Socialism and feel people should work instead of eating off my check. I feel it is unjust for the MSM to claim a vote for McCain is racist because we are voting against Obama.

There was a report on the BBC the other day -- it was about attempts to establish an objective, fair and unbiased press in Iraq. Right now, that's not happening. The reason? Because the published "newspapers" are owned and controlled by groups affliated with specific tribal/religious/sectarian interests and who also employ goon squads...Independent reporters who go to an area to "get the facts" -- if discovered by the locals -- will not only have their cameras smashed, the independent reporters will be beaten (there was a video of an outraged mob of the angry tribalists descending upon and viciously beating a reporter -- who barely survived the attack)...That's what's occuring in Iraq...

Well, I'm not sure how many people you'd find saying, "I'm voting for him cause he's black" - but you sure can find a lot saying, "I'm voting for him cause it's time we had a black in DC," or "he represents what African Americans have been trying to achieve," or something along those lines - meaning, in essence, that the color of his skin has a LOT to do with their choice. I wonder if, say, John Kerry had run on the SAME platform, used the SAME words and issues a few years ago, if he'd have had the same following. Not sure, just a thought.

I was at that rally and I never saw that guy. He must have cherry picked to get even those responses. I was near the front with a group of college girls, women in wheel chairs, women in long dresses and hair buns, women of different colors and nuns in full habits. They were respectful with thoughtful discussions among them.

This week I took pictures before a Biden Rally in my town. The mayor's mother nearly fainted when she talked about Biden to me and I stated that I would be voting Republican this year. She pulled away from me in horror and made sure others kept their distance.

The irony in this is, of course, that in Obama's case, it is truly the COLOR of his skin that is the issue--because he has no ethnic, cultural, or historical ties whatever to the African American community, descended from West African slaves, to which he has artificially attached himself. This man is the son of a Harvard grad student from Kenya raised by his white mother and grandparents. There are no linguistic or cultural ties from his father's side to anything related to the American black community. Even that is all consciously cultivated BS.

I have heard many people say that they are voting for him "because it's time we elected a black President." Period. That is out and out racism, pretending to be broadmindedness. Variations on that theme are, "We have to elect him to show the world that America is not a racist nation," "I'm voting for him, but America is too racist to let him be elected," "I want him to be President, and I'm voting for him, but you know this is such a racist nation that he will be assassinated before he finishes his term," "The Republicans are fascists because they didn't have any black people at their convention," and similar statements.

I have heard all of these.

I wish McCain would run the clip from his rally the other day, where a black man got up and begged him to "take it to Obama" - he literally said, "I am begging you to take it to him, you have to win this thing." I only saw it live, they never replayed it. And people like Thomas Sowell, Larry Elder, many other African Americans who are intelligent, independent thinking men, who know Obama will ruin this country - of course, they're Uncle Toms to the Dems, but they're used to that.

Have to disagree. Anecdotal I know, but i have heard far too many people here in Savannah area say quite clearly they are voting for Obama because he is Black, or it is time "we have a president". These comments have even been printed in our local paper as interviews or letters to the editor, not even counting what is printed from the Vox Populi call ins.

And I have heard the canard about McCain voters being racist because they are not voting for Obama all too many times including the newspaper (Savannah Morning News) and on local radio stations. Again anecdotal, but listening to a radio station a neighbor had on while washing his car, I heard several variations of the same thing (McCain vote=racist) all afternoon.

Exactly - remember, in the infancy of his campaign, the so called African American leaders were wringing their hands because he wasn't "black enough" - and now these same people talk of him like he's here to lead the race to victory, to be the symbol for all that is great in the African American community. Too bad people like Wright keep rearing their ugly heads and showing the true colors of what some blacks really want for this country.

BTW, I can't believe the comments Jesse Jackson made about how we're not going to 'focus' on Israel anymore aren't getting more coverage, that's HUGE - he's saying when Obama's in charge, we'll be making friends with Palestine and Syria and all those fuzzy folks who want Israel to disappear. How is that not front page news? Imagine if McCain said, "when I'm President, I'm going to re-negotiate the unfair policies we have with Mexico right now." Perfectly valid, but he'd be called a racist and bigot in 10 inch type.

A couple of the women asked the clerks to do it for them since they 'wanted to make sure they voted for Obama' but could not identify his name on the ballot.

My daughter did not know what to make of it.

Did these voters have to prove they were U.S. citizens. or would that be considered "racist"?

We had picketers (liberals) yesterday in front of Dallas diocese's chancery offices yesterday, because of a letter (from the bishops of Dallas, and Ft Worth, and the USCCB) read at all Masses on Sunday, about how Catholics should be following Church teaching when they go in the voting booth. The ones I heard interviewed trotted out all the standard leftist memes.

I have a few black middle aged, middle class male friends, they're not fans of obama. in a jesse jackson not a fan way. terms i've heard used by these men in reference to the o..oreo, uppity blank, Uncle tom (which is a laugh becuase the obama supporters would call them the same), passing, smug blank, I know I'm forgetting a few. but do i think this is a trend among middle age black men? I doubt it, I only know what these guys have said in front of me. then again maybe there is something to it? I'm no sociologist.

I noticed something at lunch today about this election while listening to KABC, Air America, and Pacifica. The issue in America is no longer whether Taxation is fair, how it can be done equitably, or if taxes should be raised AT ALL, but instead WHO we are going to raise taxes on.

Our country once fought against Taxes in general but now we simply accept that SOMEONE has to have their taxes raised.

In this scenario, the America public looses, and we slowly march toward Communism/Socialism, and away from individual responsibility.

Then there is this:

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An independent investigation will look into allegations that a mentally challenged man's presidential vote was commandeered by the aide who helped him read the ballot.

The Albany Area Community Service Board which oversees Primus Industries said today they will bring in an external agency to investigate allegations made by Jack Justice. He told his family that an aide took him and five other mentally challenged clients to vote during their day rehabilitation program, and told them they had to vote for Barack Obama. Election officials say if the allegations prove true, the aide could face charges.

"There are oaths that they're signing and it is a misdemeanor and sometimes a felony if someone is falsely assisting someone, they commit a misdemeanor," said Carolyn Hatcher, Dougherty County Elections Supervisor.

Justice's family tells us Wednesday aides tried to convince Jack he pushed the wrong button, but Jack says that wasn't the case. He pushed the button he was told to push and that was the button for Obama, not his choice John McCain

Well, black racism is an oxymoron, you know - you can't be racist against a race that's oppressed you for a million years (it is a million, right?), you can only be justifiably defending yourself against generations of inhumane treatment. If you are bigoted against a group because of the color of their skin, because that group's ancestors did bad things to your ancestors hundreds of years ago, that is not prejudice, racism or bigotry - it is a natural, understandable reaction and must be respected and understood.

KABC is actually a conservative radio station here in LA (which is funny because they run the standard ABC news, so you get conflicting stories right after one another).

As for the others, I always listen to Air America & Pacifica. I like to know "both sides" and stay well rounded. On a funny note, I actually like to really listen to Pacifica during CA elections to know how to vote. The equation is simple: If Pacifica says I HAVE to vote yes on whatever, I make sure to vote NO and vice versa.

The election clerk was shocked and wanted to know who he was, when he said the famous..."got to go line".

Sadly, today such a call would generate no interest...or the official would gladly mail a dozen ballots.

Yes. Last year I tried to take my name OFF the PA voter rolls - my mom sees it there when she goes to vote. It was a whole process: I had to write a notarized letter and send a copy of my out-of-state lease to prove this. And my name is stlll on their rolls, or it was when my mom voted in the primary.

Maybe, since PA is a swing state, I should have just voted absentee there. I live in a slightly less-swingy state now.

OK.

I'm on SEETHEOMATIC. Taking advantage of mentally handicapped voters you are supposed to help, when they CLEARLY know who they want to vote for? There is nothing too effing low for these thugs.

I see it all the time. I wrote an article for my blog on voter privacy because I have seen stuff like this here in town. Buses full of nursing home residents, elderly activities, church groups, etc being driven by some big ole guy that just stands back there and watches them vote. I have seen them turn around and look at him as they push the buttons on the computer.

I wrote the column after I heard a couple of elderly women discussing it in the store. They were mad and didn't know what to do about it. At that stage? Nothing. But I gave them the judges number anyway.

That's a big part of America, to value people as individuals. My fundamental expectation is that individual rights be upheld. So, my concern wrt immigrants would be that I hope they uphold our liberties. This is why I'm all for immigration, but think there should be a stricter standard for citizenship. Iows, you can come here and live, but you only have the right to vote and decide elections after a longer period of time, and after you know the ideas behind America. A citizenship test would be a good idea.

Would she ever suggest that Rev Wright's "church" was indicative of black racism? Is the rantings of a Farrakhan or a NOI individual who despises whites -- is that "racist?" Even if she alleges, that "yes" it's racist -- it will be given a pass...that is, the racism of blacks is perfectly justified and "understandable", given the history of AmeriKKKa. That's the standard Meme...

Racism to the left is all about power.

Blacks can't possibly be racists because they have no power in the US compared to whites.

The "traditional" likely voter model, which Gallup has employed for past elections, factors in prior voting behavior as well as current voting intention. This has generally shown a closer contest, reflecting the fact that Republicans have typically been more likely to vote than Democrats in previous elections. Today's results show Obama with a two-point advantage over McCain using this likely voter model, 49% to 47%, this is within the poll's margin of error.

I think a lot of political operations get into a head-count mentality, in which they only care that people are voting for their guy and don't really care why. There's not much you can do to police individuals but you can keep an eye on organizations. Ideally campaigns would police themselves, or else the media would police everybody equally, but that's not going to happen so it's up to us to expose the thugs and racists and keep our own house clean. If we find it then the media won't, and it won't be a story.

I thought you had that law, about waiting seven years before being able to apply for citizenship, sitting a test and then getting a certificate?

Has that law been abandoned?

You go October Suprise, truth, moment in time.

I've had a deep, unshakable feeling the last few weeks that there exists videotape of Barack Obama doing and saying something so egregious that anyone to the right of Code Pink will refuse to vote for him. Maybe he gave a guest sermon at Trinity, or appeared elsewhere with Rev. Wright where insane racist things were said. Maybe it's got something to do with the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. Or maybe it's something we've never even heard of. I just imagine this being released on Thursday, October 30th (which just happens to be my birthday), and all hell breaks loose.

ot:

In a nonsensical piece about a restaurant where "impoverished", "starving" Phakestinians stuff themselves with over 10 plates of food, REUTERS (those Anti-Israel BIASED slobs) creates the opportunity to compare Israel's security barrier to the Berlin wall.

The caption in question:

Palestinians eat in a restaurant in the West Bank town of Bethlehem as the menu is displayed on the controversial Israeli barrier in the background October 16, 2008. It might be a while before some future U.S. president prevails on Israel to "tear down this wall", so Palestinian restaurateur Joseph Hazboon has had his menu printed on it instead, in waterproof colours.

It is my opinion that Reuters goes out of its way to create irrelevant stories so that they can keep the security barrier in the minds of their readers. We are barraged with useless pictures of people walking near the security barrier, standing near the security barrier, painting on the security barrier, looking at the barrier, playing with a ball near the security barrier, farming near the security barrier, more obviously faked farming, and now eating near the security barrier. In almost all of these instances, the caption writer editorializes in one way or another against Israel, or the security fence.

(I thought we might want to discuss something other than the Election for a sec)

My daughter voted absentee yesterday in the County Clerk's office. While she was there a busload of young women came in , about 17 of them, with 14 small children in tow. They wanted to register and vote. (you can do this on the same day in Wisconsin)

My daughter said a good number of the young women could not read and therefore could not fill out the registration forms by themselves, or even read their ballots. A couple of the women asked the clerks to do it for them since they 'wanted to make sure they voted for Obama' but could not identify his name on the ballot.

My daughter did not know what to make of it.

I predict that this will be the most fraudulent Presidential election in history, and that Obama will win because of it.

The Left has been paving the way for this for decades now by opposing any law which would require identification or proof of citizenship to register or to vote. In California any person can register to vote and they will be allowed to vote. No one will ever ask for ID and no one will ever ask for proof of citizenship, and the registration forms will never be checked by anyone for verification. I'm sure it's the same in other states as well.

The entire system is broken, and once the Dems are in complete control, they will make sure it stays that way.

Sorry for my pessimism

Obama made a point twice in the last few days that the nation on earth had ever kept up its military strength when its economy fell. Prepare to see major spending cuts in the military to weaken our defenses and pay for other programs as he goes "line by line" in programs that "don't work" (remember that Iraq was a failure and we don't need to retain the most powerful military on earth anymore since he's the messiah).

I think the fact that this is sponsored by Al Jazeera will only serve to help McCain. One reason they hate Palin could be this:

Palin Thwarts The Gas Cartel

Iran resurrected its idea of a "gas cartel" to control gas markets like oil. But even if it succeeds, the U.S. won't be vulnerable. If you wonder why, look to the governor of Alaska.

That's right, Gov. Sarah Palin took a powerful preemptive step in August to shield the U.S. from a coming gas cartel. Palin's effort to create the Trans-Canada Alaska gas line — which would provide a vast new trove of natural gas each day to the U.S. — effectively nullifies the emerging gas cartel's potential impact on America.

re: #276 Dianna

Can someone - anyone - find a single location where prima noctis (or whatever term you prefer) really was the custom of the manor?

The practice apparently derives from primitive,Germanic warlord customs and was only sporadically and locally applied in the early middle ages. Many believe it was predominantly (or even exclusively) a Frankish custom, since the right appears mainly in French documents.
I know of no instance where such a right was either claimed or exercised in medieval England, Spain, or Italy. (I don't know about Germany.)
Even in France, exercising the "right" declined with the conversion to Christianity and with the development of feudalism, which was based on reciprocal rights. Securing the loyalty of inferiors in a landed aristocracy is tricky. Demanding prima noctis rights would not be prudent.

re: #310 Ben Hur

I heard recently that if oil drops below $70 a barrel, Russia actually starts losing money.

Can anyone comment on that?

I can't comment on this, but I can pass this along:

Contrary to many popular accounts, there is absolutely no shortage of hydrocarbon resources in the United States. Besides large amounts of undrilled oil, the U.S. has enormous reserves of natural gas and essentially unlimited quantities of coal -- 25% of the world supply. Oil shale is also abundant. Moreover, these resources can be converted into one another with ease.

For example, liquefication of American coal into oil could produce more oil per year than Saudi Arabia -- for at least 200 years. Coal liquefaction, used by Germany to fuel its military during World War II and now used in South Africa, might be bet done today with nuclear power. In any case, this relatively simple to do with well developed technology. Similarly, natural gas can be converted to oil, as is now being done on an industrial scale in the Middle East.

He then explains how the real problem is government regulations.

If you thought Carter gutted the military, you ain't seen nothin' yet.

Most, if not all of the new weapons systems currently in development (and even some already in production, like the F-22 Raptor) are going to be cancelled immediately once Obama assumes office. His lackeys have already said so in no uncertain terms.

There are racists in all forms. Any racists on my side of the political spectrum really anger me though. They should know better. It shows a very weak mind to hold that kind of crap in your heart. It is 2008 and the vast majority of people, of all colors, have moved beyond the color of someone's skin.

Of course, that does not stop the left from accusing the right of racism on a daily basis. That is truly ironic as the left seems to be the main source of actual racism these days.

re: #455 joncelli

Here is the thing, it is really hard to control the rank and file of any party. You simply can't do it, in the absence of an actual violation of the law. (BTW, it is not illegal to simply be a racist). It is illegal to do an illegal act based on racist impulses, and those things are actionable.

Any GOP event I have ever attended has been bereft of racial bigotry, unlike Dem events, where EVERY SINGLE THING is based on race and gender, and proper demographic representation. Even to the point where Dem activists say there are too many blacks in jail in proportion to their numbers in the general population. To the Dems, race and gender are all.

Most, if not all of the new weapons systems currently in development (and even some already in production, like the F-22 Raptor) are going to be cancelled immediately once Obama assumes office. His lackeys have already said so in no uncertain terms.

re: #415 Killgore Trout

I've been catching a lot of heat around here over this stuff lately but I'm becoming ever more convinced that Republicans are long over due for some serious house cleaning. Racists (subtle or otherwise) should not have been tolerated this long. These are not KKK or Nazi operates who have recently latched on to right wing causes. They are Republicans and that's a disgrace.

When stuff like this happens in the Republican party, we condemn it and move on. We are not like the Democrats that run party purges when someone doesn't toe the party line such as Lieberman. Or the way they turned on Clinton until she ~finally~ spoke out against the war. If we did, then Ron Paul for example would have been gone long ago.

Condemning this action is sufficient. Or is it your idea each and every Republican from the lowest up to Senator McCain and President Bush should investigate this event, then condemn it roundly and soundly and sentence to the pillory and excommunication from the Republican party for each and every person involved?

It is a disgrace. But don't get your panties in such a twist. Or perhaps we can just wait and see what happens to Murtha?

On racism:
43 states have laws permitting or requiring "race matching" in state adoptive placements. Texas prohibits this practice, but organizations like the National Association of Black Social Workers use their clout to support same-race adoptions, which keeps minority children in foster care even though there are families eager to adopt them.
The NABSW calls interracial adoption "cultural genocide."

If the adoption of my son had not been through a private agency, the NABSW would have kept him in the system to preserve their victim-based political power. He would have been denied a loving family, a good education and an inheritance.

Who is the racist?

What exactly is your point? Are you saying that if Republicans have one racist in the entire GOP, that we are all racists and that we "deserve to lose"? Because that sure is what it looks like to me. At least, that is my understanding of the English language as it is used by you.

And if you are so concerned about racism in the GOP, why don't you attend some GOP events and act as Sgt. at Arms? Like most of us have said, we have seen no racial bigotry, or any other kind of bigotry, or we would act accordingly.

Instead you swallow whole whatever manufactured agitprop gets put on Youtube and want to hang it around our necks, while you condemn the entirety of us as if it came down from Central Command.

Here is my take on you; you are just lazy. You don't want to get your hands dirty, you want other people to do the heavy lifting for you, so you can come by later, aloof, and sniff your approval or disdain as the case may be. Then you can pass judgement on us all, collectively, (notice the word I chose there "collective" it's the way Liberals think), as you have promised to do if McCain loses.

Two brief points:

1) If someone were to argue that a American Party was required to "extend" marching orders to each and every party member, followed by "purges" of any who deviated; and if said policy were to have been in effect in 1964, then JFK would never have been elected President of the United States. If one considers American history, then one should be well aware that the Republican Party was known as the Emancipation Party (under Lincoln). And this then caused the creation of a Southern Democratic Party (which was segregationist.) But, in 1964, the Democrat -- JFK ran for office. If, following the "logic" that the Democrats required all party "faithful to follow Dear Leader", then, obviously, JFK "did not deserve to win" the election.

2) I believe there is a good deal of confusion/conflation with regard to an understanding of how American politics "operates" vs. how parliamentary parties (a parliamentary style government) operates...I would suggest that people who are interested in understanding the differences read the book "The Genius of America". The authors not only explain the differences, but underline the necessity of keeping the American system free from becoming a "parliamentary system" (which would actually undermine American politics). Again, understand/realize that there needs to be a difference between American style politics (with an EXECUTIVE OFFICE, separate from the Legislative office) Versus a parliamentary style government (which has a leader of a political party -- which combines the function of an Executive Office with a Legislative Office.) Finally, the author of Liberal Fascism was on Glenn Beck recently -- he is arguing that if Obama is elected President, then Nancy Pelosi will become the equivalent of the Prime Minister...in other words, the U.S. system will become (assuming there's a Democratic sweep in Congress), a de facto Parliamentary System (and that's, imo, bad, bad news.) Please do not allow this to happen -- Vote McCain!

Antisemitism will always exist in some form. It's been around for thousands of years, and it's not going away any time soon.

It wouldn't bother me if people said bad things about Jews if they would just stop trying to kill us all the time (or supporting those who try to kill us all the time.) Accusing us of trying to take over the world tends to incite the attempts to kill us (and it was part of Hitler's supposed rationale, too.)

If no one ever tried to kill us again, I honestly wouldn't care if they said we're trying to take over the world. We're not. We do tend to make a living, though.

The endless search for racism in expressions like "hockey Mom" or in the wearing of a white blouse is ridiculous and I'm sick to death of it, too.

The problems in the world are not words like "hockey Mom" (which is an expression of nearness to the North Pole, not the color of ones skin.)

Well, most of the people who are still trying to kill us all the time are trying to kill us in Israel. Every time an enemy lunatic goes nuts with a car or a bulldozer and tries to mow down as many Jews as possible, one of the closest Jews nearby fills the individual's head with lead to stop the bloodshed.

I think they know we have a couple guns.

I've walked through the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem with heavily armed "settlers" more than once and the hatred against us was so thick that we almost had to swim through it to reach the Jewish Quarter.

I think they notice that we aren't wallflowers. It would help if some of these folks weren't willing (anxious) to die to try to kill us anyway, though.

Thanks!

That's funny, I have been in the Muslim Bazaar area of the old city twice and I never felt threatened or experienced any overt hostility....actually I had some very nice conversations and bargaining sessions with some of the merchants.

And you make my point, the only reason Israel exists is exactly because they are the exception to the rule. Here in America, less than 5% of Jewish households have one firearm; for non-jews, it is about 70 % of households own a firearm.
