Obama and Ayers Shared an Office Building for 3 Years?

Politics | Sat, Oct 18, 2008 at 6:29:41 pm PDT

A good find at Verum Serum: Barack Obama and former Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers apparently worked in the same office building for three years.

re: #15 alien_mind

Evidence continues to mount that Barack Obama had substantial help from Bill Ayers in the creation of his 1995 book, Dreams From My Father, a book that Time Magazine has called "the best-written memoir ever produced by an American politician." The evidence falls into five general categories, here summarized.

* The discovery of new matching nautical metaphors from both Ayers and Obama that almost assuredly came from the same source: Ayers, a former merchant seaman.

* The discovery of a Bill Ayers' essay on memoir writing, whose postmodern themes and phrases are echoed throughout Dreams.

* A newly discovered book chapter from 1990 that shows clearly and painfully the limits of Obama's prose style the year he received a contract to write Dreams.

* The revelation by radical Islamicist Rashid Khalidi that Ayers made his "dining room table" available for neighborhood writers who needed help.

* A refined timeline that shows Ayers had the means, the motive and the time to help Obama when he needed it most.

Spinoffs.

Not sure I buy it. There's nothing concrete in the allegations.

The corruption of the media is breath taking. Confidence in the integrity of our entire nation is being undermined as a result. One has to look no further than our financial markets to see what can quickly happen when confidence is lost in systems dependent upon it. We stand on the precipice. The last time this nation was in this position was the 1860s.

Obama showed him the money. Big money.

This Chicago Annenberg Challenge website from 2002 shows the total amount of funds given to Bill Ayers’ Small Schools Workshop from 1995 to 2001. The amount is not the $175K I had reported earlier. According to this page, the total given under Barack Obama’s direct supervision was $1,056,162. Adding that amount to the money given by the Joyce Foundation and Woods Fund during Obama’s tenure brings the grand total to $1,968,718.

Someone needs to find out the layout of that building. It's highly likely they actually shared the same office. Usually when there are multiple offices on a floor you'd see "Ste 301", "Ste 303" in the address or something like that. When it's just "3rd Floor" it probably means it was all one office. I actually worked in a building where each floor was a single office once.

Nope,
I may be too young to have been around during the WU/SDS hey-day but what I have read points to the fact that the media was on the side of Ayers back then too. Journalists have been purveyors of social change forever, that is the main reason for the first amendment.

You know about Ericksonian hypnosis? What you YOU think about the article (linked above) suggesting that Obama uses these techniques of mass hypnosis in his speeches?

High possibility - I have not personally examined his speeches in detail but from what I have seen and listened to he has to have been exposed to this technology and is using it. Any competent salesperson who ignores it is leaving a lot of money on the table.

not to me. who can say for sure this isn't a real connection?

I think the evidence Cashill puts forth is compelling, but it would take someone to come forward and say they knew it to be true, because they were involved. I understand Obama burned some publishing bridges (as people often seem to do when they have a successful book), and there is at least one person out there who has a reason to narc on him - but I doubt anything will come of it, even if there is something to it. I happen to think there is, after reading all four of Cashill's pieces on it and hearing him on two radio shows. (I think one of the shows was Michael Medved...the other was a Seattle guy whose show runs just locally.) He sounds VERY credible.

BHO met Michelle there (right?), but it seems like too much of a coincidence that BHO just happened to show up there, after having lived near him @ Columbia and having hung out with all the same sorts of leftist radicals. It is just sad. Here we are nearing the end of what seems to be the most important election in our history, with what should be Job One for every single American of voting age, because of the totally ludicrous presence of the real Manchurian candidate, Obama.

Anyone want to bet on the number of people who have not one clue as to which party the candidates are in, what their issues are, what they hope to do when in office, etc.?

It seems to be an inverse ratio: the more that is known, the fewer who give a damn or even vote...

And these same robots are the ones who also 'missed' the photos and the news on TV showing the utter joy in the faces of Iraqi voters when they voted freely for the first time.

Voting is a privilege, and a right. There should be far more involved citizens who actually have a clue. We can never, ever afford the luxury of not voting...and there is no such thing as a perfect candidate. They are human, like the rest of us...only Hussein thinks he is better than anyone else on this planet or any other...and being a narcissist egomaniac is not exactly a qualification for any public office, or even for a garbage collector.

re: #162 Karridine

A few weeks back, I believe after the first debate, he started using the teleprompter at the rallies. I remember mention of him using it in the middle of a rodeo arena. He is not good without the teleprompt. Frankly, I thought he got of lucky in all three of the debates - he cannot speak to the issues without sticking to his talking points. That's why his party fears Gov. Pailin so much. She is sincere. Even with a script, and I'm certain she sticks to one most of the time, she comes across as sincere - and believable.

Those of us who have some experience at debating (six years for me) can recognize certain things about how words are delivered - and body language to go with them - hand gestures. You'll notice that Senator McCain comes across stiffly - through no fault of his own. But Senator Obama - he is a SpaceInvader. You notice any time he is close, as in with Joe, he put his hand to his shoulder. If you watch, you'll see almost a defensive reaction by Joe. He attempts to control, and does I'm certain feel he is coming from a powerful position when he speaks the words that he chooses to speak with the body language to go with them.

I'm am not at all prepared to say that I'm convinced he has been trained to do it - although he may not even know that he's been trained. What I see in the behavior (most of it blind) of those who see him as a messiah of sorts leads me to believe that he may very well be doing as the article suggests.

However - there are far greater reasons to find fault with the man in the near term.

Safe and (currently) sunny, but heavy rains last night and cloudy skies today!

Roger your analysis, Cap'n...

Key here is your, "... he may not even know that he's been trained..." In any case, there are larger LOGICAL issues, but this issue of dealing immorally and illegally with the people who personally attend his speeches is still a significant one, and one which we'll watch closely in the future!

I appreciate your feedback, Cap'n

Maybe thatis why Obama submitted nothing to Law Review, Ayers was not available.

re: #147 yesandno

No friends from college...
No one remembers him at Columbia.
No one remembers him at Harvard.
No grades.
No girlfriends
No boyfriends
No trail at all...........

There has to be something, somewhere....

The film of him campaigning in Kenya for the Communist is a good place to start. How now one mentions this is beyond me...how does a US Senator get involved in another country like that? And don't tell me about "dual" citizenship. That is a crock in my mind...you cannot be a slave to two masters...(oh, I guess I should have used a less offensive quote).

Follow the money. Follow the alliances. Follow the truth....or else we will:

Follow the 0 off the cliff.

The More Soros-Obama Connections thread lead me to a search on Cassandra Butts. Found this:

We Knew Them When...

Listen to the Interview with Cassandra Butts on Sen. Obama

In the MP3 audio of the interview (my transcription):

@01:30
interviewer: You've known Barack since 1988. How did you meet him?
Cassandra: We met our first year in law school. We were initially at the Financial Aid Office...

@02:15
Cassandra: We realized we both had some experiences that were in common. We'd both travelled in Africa, before coming to the law school, Barack in Kenya and I had travelled in Zimbabwe, and Baswana, and Zambia.

@06:20
interviewer: I think he was the first African-American to be elected editor of the Harvard Law Review. But for those who don't know about what that means, what does it take to get that position. Why was that important?
Cassandra: I don't know if it was necessarily important for Barack, but it is the primier journal at the Law School. There's a writing competition at the end of the first year, and they look at your writing, and they judge that, and they combine that with your grades and they make a determination. So it's really selective...

@08:20
interviewer: One of the discussions that has emerged since his announcement, or swirling around his announcement, is this whole question of his identity. Is he a traditional authentic African-American. Is he black enough? You know, in short. Did those conversations take place? When you all were at Harvard Law School?
Cassandra: No. When Barack wakes up in the morning, he looks in the mirror, he sees a black man, and he identifies as that black man. And when people see him, they see him as a black man. And that's been my experience with him. That was never an issue.

@12:35
Cassandra: He was really *thrust* forward, in his leadership.

@14:15
interviewer: Cassandra Butts is the Senior Vice President for Domestic Policy at the Center for American Progress, a progressive think tank. She's a friend of Barack Obama's...

I've read (heard?) somewhere recently that Barack's thesis was about Soviet Nuclear Disarmament. And Harvard won't realease any info about that or his grades.

Don't know about you guys, but comment #2 providing the time line in Barry Hussein's life is at least as interesting as the sharing of the office building with Ayers.

The critical and crucial role played by Michelle is fascinating - from her job mentoring the new lawyer BHO at the law office, to her connection with Dohrn at the same law firm.

Makes me wonder why Michelle has been deep-sixed from the campaign. Or, if she has been present recently, has she just been a 'behind the lectern' prop? Somehow she just does not fit that subservient, political wife pattern.

Something is rotten in Chicago. How come the press have left her alone? The MSM has certainly crawled through Cindy McCain's life.

185 Ledger1  Sat, Oct 18, 2008 9:33:47pm

[Some time in early 2009 when Obama announces his cabinet]

Obama: I am proud to announce my appointment of my good friend William “Wild Bill” Ayers” as Secretary of Defense.

He is a skilled warrior who knows how to whip our sagging military into shape – the kind of shape it will take to keep those bible thumping, gun clinging KKK Joe Plumbers in their place. Bill, I think the American people will be surprise at your performance in this important post.

I am also am righteously proud to announce esteemed law professor Bernardine Dohrn will be our new head of the Justice Department. Would you like to say a few words to public Doctor Dohrn?

Dohrn: I would be happy to. My hero Charles Manson will soon be released from our repressive prison system… I remember those wonderful days of rage. I said "Dig it! First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them. They even shoved a fork into the victim's stomach! Wild!" [As she gives the “fork” salutes to both Obama and Ayers]

re: #145 Optimizer

There's speculation that Obama first met Ayers at Columbia, where Ayers was studying at Teacher's College. Ayers saw Obama's charisma and potential, and adopted him. We know that the Ayers family (Ayers's father Tom, as well as Bill Ayers himself) used their influence and connection to advance Obama's career. (Tom Ayers was the wealthy and connected former chairman of Commonwealth Edison in Chicago.) That chronology would explain a lot.

He's just a guy at the water cooler!

193 Ron Shaw  Sun, Oct 19, 2008 6:18:03am

He's just a guy I ride to and from work with who lives in the neighborhood, who hangs out at the office water cooler, who navigates well in the Chicago political alleys and gutters, who loves nothing more in his mid-life than to step on a few US Flags, I bet he supports our troops, too or at least the ones he would like to blow-up some, just a guy who made me into millionaire in just a couple of years by writing 2 books for me when he took a break in writing his owns books (the time line has been proved and documented), whose wife worked with my wife and she might have been a baby-sitter for us, too, just a guy who happened to bomb some stuff with his future wife when I was 8, who has paid me tons of money to sit on boards and distribute tons of money to my fellow socialist friends so we can indoctrinate the system from within for the change and hope to come, who has the same heroes as I do and shares respect for my mentors, oh, did I mention, who is rich, has always been from money and who like me yearns to shed his whitenicity, history and future, who wants to spread a little socialism to the masses starting with your kids and their teachers, who wishes he had bombed more, who also hates America, who hates her flag just like me, who I know would also refuse to pay the least bit of homage to the old Pledge Of Allegiance since he and we hate the US, who has a wife who mirrors the attitude of my wife and btw, they hate America, too. Wouldn't it be cool to blow some crap up and maybe kill some pigs like the guy from my office but I was only 8 at the time and living in Indonesia, I think back when I was waiting in the lobby during a visit to the Embassy in Indonesia where I saw all those dastardly articles about chemical experiments on American Blacks to change their skin color in 1970, I think...self-loathing can last a lifetime if it helps you politically, socially, financially, educationally and spiritually, I suppose. BUT I DO NOT KNOW WILLIAM AYERS. HE IS NOT MY FRIEND. HE IS A TANGENTIAL ACQUAINTANCE TO ME. WELL, NOT REALLY AN ACQUAINTANCE BUT MORE LIKE A GHOST BUT NOT LIKE A GHOST OR GHOST WRITER BUT MORE LIKE A SHADOW BUT NOT EXACTLY LIKE A SHADOWY FIGURE WHO I KNOW BUT MORE LIKE A THOUGHT OR IDEA OR A WHISPER OF A PERSON BUT MORE LIKE HE DOES NOT EXIST, HE NEVER EXISTED AND WE NEVER SHARED ANYTHING TOGETHER AND NEITHER DID OUR WIVES BUT I MEANT TO SAY I HAVE A WIFE BUT HOW COULD HE BECAUSE HE DOES NOT, DID NOT AND WILL NOT EXIST, I THINK, MAYBE, PROBABLY...NO, POSSIBLY AND NOT PROBABLE AT ALL AND I HAVE RETURNED ALL THE MONEY HE HAS OR HAS NOT GIVEN ME ANY MONEY OVER THE YEARS THAT I HAVE NOT KNOWN HIM BECAUSE HE DOES NOT EXIST AND IF HE EVER DID HE IS SURELY NOT THE BILL AYERS I DID NOT KNOW. THIS IS ALL DISTRACTIONS!

re: #34 sarabeara

You have to understand, and this may sound too conspiratorial. In Hyde Park, the group that Obama runs with are indeed Marxists. They won't talk. Obama was very insular in his relationships. They were in a closed network. You had to pass a social "test" to get in-prove your Marxist cred.

Also in Chicago, the MOB is very tied in to local politicians. Any that could speak about things are very afraid of meeting some interesting characters. This election is about the local DA. Patrick Fitzgerald has fingered how many of Mayor Daley's cronies in scandals? He goes away with a Dem president. Illinois is NOT like any other place in the union. We operate more like Putin's Russia than a democracy.

So are we afraid to speak-you bet. We also know that the MSM will come calling and smear us. Look at what they did to Joe the Plumber. Joe didn't attack Obama personally-just forced Obama to point out the realities of his tax plan ("bottoms up, spread the wealth around")

The other thing that we see is that people are so blinded-that they don't care. They are voting skin color-period. "It will be so great to have a black face in the White House." "It's about time we had a black man in the White House." Shelby Steele was correct.

If the Republicans had any credibility, they could win. But they were "no-tax and spend". Bush in sum was a disaster. Even though McCain is not Bush, he gets tarred with a little of his stench. We need real conservatives, not convenient conservatives, or compassionate conservatives. Anything other than real conservatism is bullshit.

While I am ranting, Republicans ought to give up on tying religion to the government as well. Quietly fight the culture war-loudly fight the economic war. There will be more ill to society from having Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and Charlie Shumer in charge of the nations pocketbook than by fighting about abortion.

The only good news is that no matter what socialist's skin color is if they were elected, they would fail miserably in the next term. If this were Hillary, and she is not much different than Obama, she would pass similar policies-and we would be worse off for it. In 4 years, they will still be blaming Bush. Hopefully the American public will be wiser.

This is in Greektown, near Oprah's studio, just across the expressway from the University of Illinois-Chicago, where Ayers is a tenured professor.

It is not a big building. There is literally no chance that they didn't bump shoes with one another.

196 pittrader1988  Sun, Oct 19, 2008 6:44:12am

re: #109 gringotipico

It is not a huge building. It is small, and in an intimate neighborhood just across the expressway from UIC. Ayers is a professor of sociology at UIC.

re: #42 arethusa

Obama is from the Cass Sunstein part of law. Sunstein an influential prof at Chicago, now at Harvard. They would look to the Breyer wing of the court, not the Scalia wing. No surprises there.

Debating the merits of both with facts is a good exercise.

As to the U of C prof-no idea who that might be. Could be anyone. At U of C, they smash ideas together, so sometimes an English Lit prof will critique an Econ prof-just to give it a different perspective.

Analytical analysis is bloodsport there. Visiting profs don't like to present there. You are liable to be called an idiot by someone who has a Nobel Prize in something. It's not collegial like Harvard where they sit quietly and respect your idea. There idea of fun is to smash it and make it better.

Ask anyone who has sat through defending their dissertation in the Econ Dept. It's brutal.

Whether Obama wins or not the country is in very deep trouble.

People snickered when the Marxists and their fellow travelers found homes in Academia and the Media. Where else would this army of radicals from the 60s find employment.

So we complained about how unfair they were, how intellectually dishonest, how completely wrong given how history had discredited their ideas. But we largely were unaware of the threat.

While we were debating them they were teaching kids to hate their country. In the classroom, on the TV, on the radio, in the movie theaters.

Can't read, can't do math, can't find Iraq on a map, can't name 5 former presidents.. But they know the white man killed the Indians with smallpox laden blankets, that US enslaves the world, that Nixon started the Vietnam war.

Ayers and his ilk never gave up the fight. They moved onto a new battlefield we ignored them. They taught the next generation while we went to work and produced the wealth which allowed them to fill the head's of the next generation with vile garbage.

When Bill Ayers told Hugo Chavez the next revolution would take place in education he was not talking about a theory, he was talking about a battle plan he had already began to implement.

200 rollingdivision  Sun, Oct 19, 2008 8:24:54am

Welcome to the new American socialist utopia, comrades. The left including all their branches, politicians, educational establishment, bureaucrats, government unions and the media have learned the lessons of Hugo Chavez well. And soon, US citizens will learn the lessons the Venezuelan citizens.

Here is the google maps location of the 100 block of Sangamon street.

[Link: wiurl.com...]

Although the location of 115 is not clearly marked, the buildings in the neighborhood are VERY SMALL. Now I could see working in a building with a footprint size of the world trade center or many other huge buildings in NYC and not knowing my hall mates but in this small place?---please give me a break.

According to the street view on google maps some of the buildings are available for lease. Why don't you, an enterprising chicagoan for truth get down there and take a tour to rent an office and get some pictures.

Call early Monday as you may have to fight off hordes of newspaper and media hacks desperate to get the story as 115 Sangamon St becomes the hottest location in Chicago--NOT.

Get inside or at least outside, take some pics and post them for all the see the size of the building 115 Sangamon St 3rd floor. That is, if it is still legal in Chicago or the US the question THE ONE.

Come on Joe, yes you ..... you may or may not be a plumber, you may have back taxes you owe. go for it, America needs you or WE ALL WILL BE JOE SOON.

by the way an internet appeal paid joe's back taxes and a similar appeal may help you too.

"...Slit the throat..."? Mon Dieu! As a proud member of the "proly", I confess I am very uncomfortable to be "up close and personal". But I'm OK at 100 yards. That said, I hope we're talking metaphorically.

205 pittrader1988  Sun, Oct 19, 2008 10:43:38am

metaphorically for now. no telling what will happen if we overtax and take away freedom. The Mayan calendar famously predicts a change in the world in 2012!

Maybe Friedman like thought will permeate the electorate.

206 LieSeeker  Sun, Oct 19, 2008 1:03:53pm

Here is a UIC map which shows the "Sangamon Street Building" (SGM) location. It's those two buildings on the east side of the street, on the south side of the block.

207 LieSeeker  Sun, Oct 19, 2008 1:17:50pm

Correction.. Streetview shows that only the building next to Sangamon has the third floor in which the offices were located. The east side of the complex has less than three stories. It's posted as a vacant building. Has someone in Chicago taken photos?

208 MJBrutus  Mon, Oct 20, 2008 3:29:56am

So what? You heard Obama put this issue to bed. Bambam was 8 when this scum bag killed those innocent men and women and Ayers is not part of his campaign. Geesh.
