Did You Know 'Socialist' is a Code Word?

Did you know that “socialist” is a code word for “black?” No? Lewis Diuguid, Kansas City Star Editorial Page columnist, sets you straight: Shame on McCain and Palin for using an old code word for black.

McCain and Palin have simply reached back in history to use an old code word for black. It set whites apart from those deemed unAmerican and those who could not be trusted during the communism scare.

Shame on McCain and Palin.

Because it's refundable (meaning workers get it even if they have little or no income-tax liability), for many it will involve just another check from the government, rather than a reduction in tax liability. In those cases, it would not be a tax cut at all, but a transfer payment and a direct drain on tax revenues.

McCain proposes to double the personal exemption for each dependent from $3,500 to $7,000, for all families regardless of income. For middle-class workers in the 25% tax bracket, this $3,500 increase would reduce their tax liability by $875 for each child. While this tax cut also does not involve a reduction in marginal tax rates, it will promote working families with children.

But McCain also proposes marginal tax-rate reductions that do promote economic growth and encourage investment. Because America today suffers from the second-highest corporate tax rates in the industrialized world, McCain would help restore American competitiveness by reducing the federal corporate tax rate from 35% to 25%. This would benefit the middle class and workers by creating new jobs, at better wages, while strengthening the dollar.

It may even raise, rather than reduce, revenues. According to a 2007 study by the Treasury Department, Ireland — with a 12.5% corporate tax rate — raises almost 50% more revenue on a comparative basis than the United States does with a 35% rate.

It may even raise, rather than reduce, revenues. According to a 2007 study by the Treasury Department, Ireland — with a 12.5% corporate tax rate — raises almost 50% more revenue on a comparative basis than the United States does with a 35% rate.

There was a festival scheduled for Grant Park that evening known as the "Italian Festival", featuring a parade of boats decorated with lights sailing along the waterfront of the park. Just as a large crowd had gathered to watch the boats, the sky darkened over the lake, the wind picked up, and a vicious thunderstorm struck within ten minutes. Bolts of lightening started striking in the park. The crowd ran for their lives.

I wonder if it was a sign of future things to come. ;-)

We talk about creeping Sharia and that is certainly am ideology seeking a foothold in this country and globally, but the reverse problem of political correctness can be a similar cancer. BHO has been very successful in playing this card. We look back at the first OJ trial and we see how PC can undermine justice. They did not have the currency however that the MSM has invested BHO with however. When HE cries foul or even when he says nothing, the media are willing accomplices in whining to the ref. In fact they are doing his dirty work. It is a dangerous time when words mean things they were never intended to mean simply because the media suggests that it is so.


If there was any doubt how dangerous this game is, even someone as wily as William Jefferson Clinton lost a hand to the race card. Fortunately for McCain, his reputation is fairly impeccable that to tar and feather him as a racist just seems dumb. That does not mean however that the media does not try.


I know I have stated the case before but I still do not think the majority of the American people are buying this propoganda. Despite the indelicate talk of socialism, and other issues McCain must address head on, McCain absolutely can win in spite of the madness.

To add to Sharmuta's point - sometimes you have to laugh, gallows humor if you will. Some one posted "I can't take it anymore" I said that today to a friend of mine, because if you really lay out what is happening right now, it does make you want to just explode. Think about it:
1. Candidate has no resume to speak of
2. Candidate has long list of thugalicious friends
3. Candidate is most liberal politician the US has seen (that has been taken seriously)
4. Candidate, despite what the media tells you, is lacking not just a little, but a whole lot in the intelligence category
5. Candidate has spoken a lot but said nothing
6. Candidate chose the only other Senator more dumb than he as a running mate
7. Candidate says things that really are socialist, and quite frankly teetering on Marxist, yet no one notices
8. Candidate is member of party that tanked our housing market due to abject stupidity and then blamed the republicans with straight faces
9. Media back up story republicans are to blame, walk by whistling when the story deals with a republican (unless its a scandal) and rewrites, ignores, kills any story that just might be truthful on the Dem party or The One
10. Children are singing songs of Praise to this yahoo

and so on and so forth. Sometimes you have to laugh at the absolute insane position we are being put in to release some of the frustration. No one thinks socialism is funny. The issue here isn't socialism, its that some ding dong tied it to meaning "black" and therefore racist. That is absurd.

Alger Hiss, while I believe he was guilty based on circumstantial evidence, was not definitively condemned by the Venona documents.

I've read the books, and I'm familiar with the story. Hiss' known whereabouts and ALES reported movements in the documents don't match up perfectly, which could be chocked up to imperfect information on one side or the other, but it is enough to cast doubt on the whole thing.

I've been reading about his other book. I wonder that it took him 4 years to arrive at the bolded conclusions. There definitely is a need for better education in this country:

/not much damage overall for the day, but now I'm sitting on a large DIA position that's a little bit underwater, all I ask is that the DOW touch up 150 or so tomorrow, of course it would have been better if I hadn't fallen for the head fake, kept the short, and bought it at close, ces't la vie, just need to catch at least one break this week

Brian Johnson answers "yes" to whether he is conservative, adds that he doesn't trust anyone and is PROBABLY about to say he prefers McCain, but he gets immediately cut off by Stern. So he never explicitly said it.

As to your question, Stern has been off "E" for a while.
