Krauthammer: McCain for President

Opinion | Fri, Oct 24, 2008 at 8:47:08 am PDT

It may have seemed like Charles Krauthammer was going a little wobbly lately, writing about Obama’s “presidential temperament” and criticizing Sarah Palin, but today’s column makes it exceedingly clear which side he’s on: McCain for President.

The case for McCain is straightforward. The financial crisis has made us forget, or just blindly deny, how dangerous the world out there is. We have a generations-long struggle with Islamic jihadism. An apocalyptic soon-to-be-nuclear Iran. A nuclear-armed Pakistan in danger of fragmentation. A rising Russia pushing the limits of revanchism. Plus the sure-to-come Falklands-like surprise popping out of nowhere.

Who do you want answering that phone at 3 a.m.? A man who’s been cramming on these issues for the past year, who’s never had to make an executive decision affecting so much as a city, let alone the world? A foreign policy novice instinctively inclined to the flabbiest, most vaporous multilateralism (e.g., the Berlin Wall came down because of “a world that stands as one”), and who refers to the most deliberate act of war since Pearl Harbor as “the tragedy of 9/11,” a term more appropriate for a bus accident?

Or do you want a man who is the most prepared, most knowledgeable, most serious foreign policy thinker in the United States Senate? A man who not only has the best instincts but has the honor and the courage to, yes, put country first, as when he carried the lonely fight for the surge that turned Iraq from catastrophic defeat into achievable strategic victory?

There’s just no comparison. Obama’s own running mate warned this week that Obama’s youth and inexperience will invite a crisis — indeed a crisis “generated” precisely to test him. Can you be serious about national security and vote on Nov. 4 to invite that test?

Good! Glad he made it clear.

I always respect Krauthammer's analysis and opinion. I don't always agree with him, but he's always got something to back up what he's saying. A true journalist.

Absentee voting has already started. Democrats are starting to vote in hopes of taking advantage of media supremacy to demoralize Republican turnout. This is deliberate. Watch for breathless reports of an impending Obama landslide.

And then vote for McCain.

But the real questions is how much did Govnernor Palin spend on clothing. Hard hitting journalism at it's best.

Krauthammer wasn't the only pundit going wobbly, but let's be clear. While many conservatives, libertarians, and moderates may have no love for McCain, there's absolutely nothing that suggests that an Obama presidency will bring any expansion of conservative values. Just the opposite.

An Obama presidency would seek to impose a major sea-change in political philosophy lurching the nation to the left. Hard left.

Obama's the wrong man, at the wrong time, with the wrong values.

8 wright1  Fri, Oct 24, 2008 8:52:29am

I like that.

However I think Bidens comment about needing support, as what Obama does during the crisis will not seem right is the part that scares me the most.

In my mind Biden was saying that OBAMA will throw someone under a bus...

At least it means to me that BIDEN thinks OBAMA will throw an ally (Israel?) under that bus...

"OK Iran, now that we are meeting, the USA will abandon Israel, and Iraq in order to get a concession from you to stop you nuclear program, Agreed?"

The Obama supporters I speak to, almost on a daily bases, do have an idea what Obama means to America's overall postition in the world, AND THEY LIKE IT.

Over and over I keep hearing conservatives say this, over and over, yet the folks I have queried about this DISPROVES that point.

Black Dog Republicans

We’ve always had Yellow Dog Democrats from the South and some of Pelosi's puppies say they're Blue Dog Democrats. But now we have Black Dog Republicans.

Their constant companions are depression and melancholy, the moods that often descended on Winston Churchill. He labeled them his “black dog.”

There are two reasons the Black Dog Republicans fell prey to a depression equal to Churchill's. First is the constant chatter of the media, the Republican elite, and the Cassandra Republicans who are just as sure that John McCain will lose the election as they are that Sarah Palin is his ruination. The second is that a lot of people are simply so angry at the Bush administration that otherwise sensible people are transferring their anger to John McCain or falling for Barack’s baloney.

Can we all please stop whining?

To paraphrase our greatest secretary of war, you go to the polls with the candidates you have, not necessarily the candidates you want. And, though this is heresy in Washington, let’s please remember that neither pundits nor pollsters elect presidents: voters do. John McCain and Sarah Palin could yet win on November 4.

And that chance is apparently pretty good, according to the new AP-GfK poll that showed them only one point behind the Obama-Biden combo. After the last debate and the "Joe the Plumber" episode, it's enough to return my thinking to mid-July when Republicans were suddenly 5 points ahead in the Gallup generic congressional preference poll. As I wrote then, Republicans could actually gain - not lose - strength in the House and Senate.

Throughout this election season I have felt that FOX news, in their efforts to be "fair and balanced" has been a little too lenient on Obama. However, that could be just me. I want some anger directed at this pretender.

There is something wrong when a man has 600 million dollars to buy the presidency. He is so worried about the "less fortunate" why doesn't he spread that wealth?

Couple this with the breathless reporting of polls showing a big Obama lead, and no mention of polls showing the race closer, as well as the stories of Obama's big party, it's obvious that the media is actively trying to demoralize and suppress the republican vote.

Maybe. There are a few of my friends that have spent some time in countries with forms of democratic socialism, and they still want it here.

But, that much I can agree on, the actual practice of living under socialism versus their enlightenment on the subject are two different things. They can rationalize it's good, but they don't know how it feels.

90 alien_mind  Fri, Oct 24, 2008 9:07:17am

I have posted my own thoughts below on several other forums I participate on. These forums are based on non-political topics but have subforums on politics/society where many of us lock horns. Just trying to offer people a perspective that perhaps they have never heard before.

1995: What a big year it was for Barack Obama

In 1995 Barack Obama was a junior lawyer for a minor law firm in Chicago, but his fortunes were soon to change due to several big boosts from William Ayers.

First, Ayers appoints Obama to chairmanship of the multi-million dollar Chicago Annenberg Challenge grant.

Then in June of 1995, Dreams From My Father is published. This book is hailed by Time magazine as the best memoir ever written by a politician. It is a very well regarded book. The strange thing is there are only two or three prior examples of Obama’s written word, none of them are even above average, and some of it is embarrassingly bad.

Another strange thing is that Dreams has numerous uncanny similarities to the writing style of William Ayers, who is a very accomplished writer. Here is only one example of many. In Ayers 1993 book To Teach, it contains an anecdote about how the Hudson River flows in both directions. In Obamas 1995 Dreams it contains an anecdote about how the East river flows in both direction. Another example is that Ayers writing is loaded with nautical references, indeed at one point he worked as a seaman. Dreams is also loaded with these nautical references. There are numerous other similarities documented by Jack Cashill. What is clear is that Ayers had a hand in writing the book for Obama.

Finally, in the fall of 1995, Obamas political career is launched in the home of William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.

None of this would be important except that William Ayers is a domestic terrorist and subversive who has also written books on how to overthrow the United States from within. Obama claims Ayers was a guy he knew from the neighborhood, downplaying the obvious fact the Ayers was much more than this.

Barack Obamas troika of mentors:
Frank Marshall Davis – Communist
William Ayers – America hating domestic terrorist
Jeremiah Wright – America hating racist and believer in Black Liberation Theology

Why in the world are people supporting this guy for president? Is this the background you want for the person living at the White House?

re: #74 Semper Gumbi

Already happening. Everyday, I hear about this or that analysis of how many more democrats are voting early vs republicans and this just means that Obama will win in a landslide. Couple this with the breathless reporting of polls showing a big Obama lead, and no mention of polls showing the race closer, as well as the stories of Obama's big party, it's obvious that the media is actively trying to demoralize and suppress the republican vote.

It's a standard tactic: put on a big show of strength to make your side look invincible and convince the other side to quit.

As long as handling an international crisis means talking and not warfare, that's all they think he needs to do.

They only reason I keep harping on the fact that I believe that many Obama supporters know exactly what he stands for is I don't think conservatives should look at this as some sort of anomaly.

This has been well devised, for 50 years, by very smart people (not wise, smart). They have infiltrated our schools, businesses, city and country governments and so on.

And is we keep implying that his supports don't understand, we are going to be surprised when we see a whole "army" of leftists surging ahead, right behind Obama, if he wins.

These people know what the future holds if he wins, and they want it with a passion that I have never seen in politics in 55 years.

He can read just as well as anybody else and has seen how bad the polls have been for McCain yet he continued harping away at McCain's choice of Palin as VP and what a disgrace that choice was.

The first rule of elections is that you have to win. Once McCain made Sarah his choice for VP, CK should have graciously kept his mouth shut and tried to highlight McCain's strengths rather than go on and on and on and on and ON about how much he disapproved of Sarah. Especially when he saw McCain's polls tanking.

Thanks CK. Maybe better late than never, but not by much.

Don't hold your breath. Did you see what she wrote in today's WaPo? The woman is a skank.

My husband called it first. Then, a brilliant 75-year-old scholar and raconteur confessed to me over wine: "I'm sexually attracted to her. I don't care that she knows nothing."
Finally, writer Robert Draper closed the file on the Sarah Palin mystery with a devastating article in this Sunday's New York Times Magazine: "The Making (and Remaking) of McCain."
McCain didn't know her. He didn't vet her. His campaign team had barely an impression. In a bar one night, Draper asked one of McCain's senior advisers: "Leaving aside her actual experience, do you know how informed Governor Palin is about the issues of the day?"
The adviser thought a moment and replied: "No, I don't know."
Blame the sycamore tree.
McCain had met Palin only once -- in February, at the governors' convention in Washington -- before the day he selected her as his running mate. The second time was at his Sedona, Ariz., ranch on Aug. 28, just four days before the GOP convention.
As Draper tells it, McCain took Palin to his favorite coffee-drinking spot down by a creek and a sycamore tree. They talked for more than an hour, and, as Napoleon whispered to Josephine, "Voilà."
One does not have to be a psychoanalyst to reckon that McCain was smitten

I heard one woman come in and say she'd never gotten involved in an election before, but what she was hearing and reading was making her so mad, she was going to get involved for the first time in her life. She was volunteering to be a "walker" and go door-to-door for McCain Palin.

My fear is that with an Obama Presidency (and a Demonrat super-majority in Congress) the country won't just be forced into a hard Left turn...No, I think Obama has started to believe in his own deity enough that he and Congress would try some kind of gun grab. And that could only lead to a Second Civil War. Because there are (possibly) millions of gun owners like me who absolutely will not give up their guns peacefully. I know my history well enough to know what typically happens when people let their government disarm them. That is my line in the sand. You can raise my taxes, start all sorts of b.s. social programs, insult my Christian faith, whatever, but I will not be disarmed.

I think you could strengthen your point by leaving out the unproven claims that Ayers wrote Obama's book. Instead, you might focus on their close association at the Chicago Annenberg Challenge and the Woods Foundation. Kurtz has some excellent articles describing the ghastly programs that CAC funded. Education hits a real nerve with people and they'd be pretty unhappy to know that $150 million was blown on programs teaching kids to be socialist agitators, instead of teaching them to read and write.

From Charles' link:

Nor will I countenance the "dirty campaign" pretense. The double standard here is stunning. Obama ran a scurrilous Spanish-language ad falsely associating McCain with anti-Hispanic slurs. Another ad falsely claimed McCain supports "cutting Social Security benefits in half." And for months Democrats insisted that McCain sought 100 years of war in Iraq.
McCain's critics are offended that he raised the issue of William Ayers. What's astonishing is that Obama was himself not offended by William Ayers.

Moreover, the most remarkable of all tactical choices of this election season is the attack that never was. Out of extreme (and unnecessary) conscientiousness, McCain refused to raise the legitimate issue of Obama's most egregious association — with the race-baiting Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Dirty campaigning, indeed.

I do and have disagreed with him, but in this case he gets what the David Brooks, Kathleen Parkers, and Christopher Buckleys do not, and that is the danger Obama poses to this nation. Charles has acknowledged time and again the cool and grace and charming oratory skills THE MESSIAH has, but he sees through all the smoke screen, and realizes the nation is not in need of Obama as much as it is McCain. This is not to say we do not need something better than McCain, but we certainly do not need something worse!

After McCain/Palin beats the pants off of Obama/Biden we will deal with the likes of the uppity, Beltway, morons but for now I will take Charles' endorsement and run with it all the way to the Oval Office. If the Donks get the 60 votes, though, I expect that they will act hard and fast to disarm us. Maybe. There are a few of my friends that have spent some time in countries with forms of democratic socialism, and they still want it here.

But, that much I can agree on, the actual practice of living under socialism versus their enlightenment on the subject are two different things. They can rationalize it's good, but they don't know how it feels.

There are several ladies who come into the RNC headquarters here in town. One if from Estonia, one if from Cuba, and two are from England. They are vehemently against BHO just because of his socialist flavor. They are appalled that Americans would even consider him and not run his ass out of town. I understand it but then I ask myself what the hell is wrong with these people.

I know, but that is my point. There is NOTHING wrong with them. You can't look at it like we, conservatives, are sane and these liberals are nuts.

If we do keep looking at them in that light, then we will miss the boat on how to combat this in the future.

Look at it this way. How can so many people get hook on certain real "cult" religions. Doctors, lawyers, scientists and so on. These are smart people. They are not nuts, they are not mentally damaged, but they will believe in some fairly outrageous doctrines.

The answer. Education. We have to get back into the public education system. We have been running AWAY from this, with charter schools, private schools, home schools and so on. We gave them the in they needed. We gave it to them on a silver platter.

The same thing goes for college. So, we just run to the schools that supports our positions, instead of fighting to keep a healthy balance of ideologies in ALL our colleges.

We headed for the hill, our churches, our little clutches, and let the inmates run the asylum.

Heh. Did you see E.J. Dionne's column?

Then there are those conservatives who see Palin as a "fatal cancer to the Republican Party" (David Brooks), as someone who "doesn't know enough about economics and foreign policy to make Americans comfortable with a President Palin" (Kathleen Parker), as "a symptom and expression of a new vulgarization in American politics" (Peggy Noonan).

These conservatives deserve credit for acknowledging how ill-suited Palin is for high office. But what we see here is a deep split between parts of the conservative elite and much of the rank and file.

For years, many of the elite conservatives were happy to harvest the votes of devout Christians and gun owners by waging a phony class war against "liberal elitists" and "leftist intellectuals." Suddenly, the conservative writers are discovering that the very anti-intellectualism their side courted and encouraged has begun to consume their movement.

Yep, the rednecks have taken over - it's CLASS WARFARE!

Absentee voting has already started. Democrats are starting to vote in hopes of taking advantage of media supremacy to demoralize Republican turnout. This is deliberate. Watch for breathless reports of an impending Obama landslide.

And then vote for McCain.

Regarding absentee ballots, I read that Obama was winning Nevada but McCain was pulling out ahead in FL and one other battleground state. Great news if it's true.

And then we have 68% of the military absentee vote for McCain/Palin to look forward to. Those young voters out there in Iraq and Afghanistan in military uniforms understand the importance of turning out to vote more than the hippies in tie-dyes sitting around playing World of Warcraft.

I re-registered a few weeks ago.

I haven't received my new voting card.

When do I start to get pissed?

My father-in-law registered as a Republican the day he became a US citizen, back in August. And by last week he had still not received anything in the mail. He just registered again, on the last day for voter registration here in California (10/20) at the post office. He was told his name should be on the list at his polling place, but that he was probably too late to receive a sample ballot or voter card in the mail before the election.

I have to wonder if he had registered Democrat back in August if he would have received everything the first time?

Believing in socialsm is insanity.

Oh no it's not. If you really mean in the medical sense of the word, then you are wrong. Hell, there are million's of people in the world who live under some form of socialism, FREELY, and you can't go around indicating that they are insane.

That's a problem I see on BOTH sides of issues. Not being able to understand that the other side is not crazy, that they are smart, rational people that simply think differently than you.

But that doesn't make them insane. Come on, get off it. Otherwise, you will just keep isolating yourself from the actual battle to try to change their thinking.

What do you do with insane people, put them away, which is just what we do, we have ignored them, we couldn't believe how anyone "normal" could accept this ideology, and we let them do what they wanted, because we discounted the strength of their convictions, knowledge and smarts.

Here's a good article. An Obama Panic. Hammer on this, lizards.

Recently, Obama said he wants to expedite loans to small businesses, so he seems to have a clue that they produce much of the country's job growth. Yet his income-tax hike on upper brackets will hit vast numbers of small businesses - they'd face the highest rates they've seen in decades.

Overall, his plan includes some of the most lethal tax increases imaginable, including a jump in the capital-gains rate. He'd expand government spending massively, with everything from new public-works projects to increases in foreign aid to a surge in Afghanistan - plus hand out a token $500 welfare check that he calls a tax cut to everyone else.

...

Some reckon that a President Obama won't go through with his plans. They look at his (thin) record and see a wimp who's never taken a firm stand on much of anything, much less enacting tax hikes during the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

I look at Obama's record differently. From his days as a community activist, to his years in the Illinois Senate and now his brief time in the US Senate, he has shown little inclination to deviate from his party's tax-and-spend orthodoxy.

And if he governs like a liberal ideologue - with a belief that the government that works best is the one that's biggest and raises taxes the most - he won't even have to work hard to get his way. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid won't stop him - the Democratic majorities in Congress are only likely to grow.

And the markets know this - even if pundits (even many of the financial ones) refuse to face it.

OT: Our local MSM has been busy touting high black turnout for early voting. It is being reported that early voters are jubilant and casting their votes with tears in their eyes. Meanwhile we are being warned to expect possible 6 hour wait times on election day. The media are doing their part to suppress the conservative vote. The media is injecting emotion into all of their election reports and openly gushing and rooting for an Obama victory. We are going to see a media circus like none other. Don't be discouraged. Hang in there and cast your vote.

I'm not sure where you live, but I've seen stories that early voter turnout in North Carolina and Georgia has been disproportionately black. Here in Georgia, there have been hours-long waits at the county early voting offices. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind:

1. There are a finite number of black voters. It may be a disproportionate number are voting early out of enthusiasm, and they may be going nearly 100% for Obama, but they still make up a limited percentage of all voters (in Georgia, about 24%; about 26% in NC).

2. There's generally only one or two early voting locations per county, hence the lines. Next week, Georgia opens up a dozen or so additional early voting locations in each county. None of those voters will be in line on November 4th, when ALL the polling places will be open. Threatening voters with 6-hour lines is just a way to discourage employed people, who are much more likely to vote for McCain.

McCain volunteer changes ATM attack story

Police spokeswoman Diane Richard says investigators gave the 20-year-old woman a lie-detector test and are "looking at some inconsistencies" in her story.

The student, Ashley Todd, of College Station, Texas, initially said a black man robbed her at knifepoint Wednesday night and then cut her cheek after seeing a McCain sticker on her car.

Police say bank surveillance footage doesn't show her at an ATM where she says she was attacked.

Todd, who is white, now says she was knocked unconscious and doesn't remember being cut. She now says she only discovered the wound later.

If the Donks don't get the 60 votes, then we can at least hope that the Republicans will filibuster any new legislation. If the Donks get the 60 votes, though, I expect that they will act hard and fast to disarm us. I've seen it attributed to Thomas Jefferson, that the beauty of the Second Amendment is that it wouldn't be needed until they try to take it away. Yes. She is insane (with all apologies to Walter), consumed by BDS, and irrelevant. Her followers dropped dead on the floor from the Kool-Aid long ago.

All she can do is hurl petty diatribes at the master of the Throbbing Memo.

It has to suck, being pwned like Mary was, reduced to having your mewling book sit on the shelves in dollar stores, until eventually they are mulched or added to landfills as tax write-offs.

Ms. Mapes, my father was in the Guard unit you smeared. My father used to debrief GW Bush. You smeared my father, Ms. Mapes, and you will have no forgiveness, sympathy, or succor from me or mine as long as I draw breath. With all due respect, you can suck on it, Mary.

Just a suggestion.

my assertion on the book is unproven, but a person armed only with common sense can make the connection. Its a circumstantial case but the more you look at it, only a fool would not be able to see the book connection. I felt that the timing of the events, all happening in 1995 would focus people on the strength of the Ayers/Obama connection.
I was tailoring what I wrote for a target audience. We'll see what kind of reaction I get.

371 Power Armored Lizardoid  Fri, Oct 24, 2008 10:35:16am
I think the gun control issue will revolve around the final makeup of the Senate. Whether Jefferson said it or not, it is definately true. When they try to take the weapons, then it is time to use them.

Well said, Iron Fist. It's funny just how 'pro-gun' (i.e. guns being privately owned and carried by citizens) the founding fathers actually were. I very much suspect they would be disappointed just how much American citizens have put up with without an (another) armed revolution so far.

Is there anything to suggest in his background that he delved into history, or philosophy (more then just Marx), or economics, or the World Books or anything that is intellectual at all, aside from going to Harvard?

I think...until proof is out there...that Obama was a mediocre student whose credentials as an intellectual elite are way overblown. And the fact that the so called elites in this country cannot really see it. Elites seem to spend a lot of time talking and absolutely no time doing.....

And they look down on the rest of us? Time for us to step to the side and stop holding these people up. Let them fall to the side.....they don't have the guts of their own convictions....

So a journalist is "wobbly" for not toeing the proper line? Really, Charles.

Isn't a biased media a bad thing? Or is it only bad when it favours the other ticket?

The problem we have today with a biased media is that it's BIASED. It would taste better if it were biased toward my guys, but it would be no less irresponsible.

388 littleO  Fri, Oct 24, 2008 11:27:40am

I like Krauthammer. But, I also disagree sometimes.Especially last night on fox when he was being overly constructive in denying Obama is willful in his desire for a socialist state.
We are not sure that Obamanomics with the efforts of a Polosi/Reid led Congress, and a newly socialist constructed Supreme Court, won't attempt to control business and industry in America. ( The reins of production.)
The free enterprise/ capitalist system has long since been compromised by a overbearing Democrat party that took a lung toward socialism 40 years ago and has just become worse over the years.
Sorry, Charles Krauthammer, You need to re-think that analogy.

Obama is cool over the economic crisis because he absolutely does not care whether average people are hurting. In fact the poorer the people are, the more helpless they are and the easier to control them.

I remember one time I heard a friend told me in his village a group of chinese farmers were rounded up by the communists to "remember the bitterness (of fugalistic society) and praise the sweetness (of socialist society)" meeting in 1960s. One of the oldest man ( 80+) in the village said being a peasant in China, life was always tough, but the worst he has ever experienced was 1958-1961 when Chinese communists managed to cause a national-wide famine on a bumper-to-bumper harvest year in 1957. Many villages were sealed off by government, people were not permitted to even beg or seek help, so socialist great leaders do not lose face.

The first thing Chinese communists did was to trash the economy in 1957 followed by 3 year famine, then those who said anything about the economic collapse afterward were taken out to re-education center as counter-revolutionaries, eliminated, thirdly, only the underclass can allow to go to colleges and children of anyone with assets are sent to countryside to be re-educated, fourthly, completely destroy education system, making a chap got zero from math exam national hero, making it criminal offense to study or research or have a private business. People were persecuted for keeping a few chickens.

But on the other hand, every one were entitled their pension, a roof over their head and healthcare.

I was believing in Krauthammer earlier and I am glad to see that my faith in him was well-placed.

Without having read through all the comments, I think it's too little, too late Chuck! And personally, I disagree with early voting except for absentee, as in, not gonna in country or in state on Nov. 4th. It's become election month, not election day.

"McCain for President"

Screw that.............Krauthammer for President

I can't imagine voting early or absentee without a compelling reason. I want to BE THERE with my neighbors and experience it fully. Voting early would be like having Christmas dinner on Dec. 15.

re: #389 bbuddha

He wasn't acting like a journalist. the criticism was unwarrented. It is true that a true journalist should call it like it is. He wasn't doing that. It was like he morphed into mean and petty. The other part of the argument is that no matter what you think of Gov. Palin, we have a much greater enemy. In case you havn't noticed there is a communist trying to take over the white house. This is during a time that the communists that call themselves democrats have the number advantage in congress. I expect the good sense from him to concentrate on the important stuff.

You'll get no argument from me that the world would be in better shape with McCain in the White House than Obama.

Partisanship is fine for you and me, although I think it tends to stifle one's capacity for critical thought. And a journalist who has stifled his or her capacity for critical thought is not worth a bucket of hork. America is informed largely by a nation of journalists who are worth exactly that, because they have decided that what they think we should know is more important that what is true.

I didn't agree with Krauthammer's criticism of Palin either, but hell if I condemn him for being "wobbly" for independent thinking. I would, however, write him off as a joke if he genuinely felt that Palin deserved criticism, but withheld it, for partisan reasons. How many reporters, columnists and editors have spiked or even covered up stories that would be bad for Obama? And what good are they?

A journalist who is biased in our favour is just as useless, irresponsible, and dangerous as one who's biased against it.

Krauthammer has the ability to see what is important for America.

As much as I don't agree with many of McCain's policies, I feel that he is best for America.

As much as I feel that his choice of Palin was ridiculous, I think his choices for America will be better than Obama's.
