Shabbat Shalom all of you Jewish Lizards. A friend sent me this from CNN:

Students in Trouble after Classmate Slapped for 'Hit a Jew' Day

By Sharon Stevens, Education Reporter

KSDK -- Some students face possible disciplinary action, including possible suspension, following a school prank that ended with one child being slapped in the face.

It happened Monday at Parkway West Middle School. Some kids called it 'Hit a Jew' Day. At least three children were hit during the incident, all of whom were Jewish. Two were tapped on the shoulder or arm, but one child was slapped in the face.

School principal Linda Lelonek said it started last week. The sixth graders decided to have a 'Hug a Friend' day. Then it was 'High-Five Day,' but teachers did not know what was going on until several kids were hit.

Lelonek called a school assembly Tuesday morning to talk about religious diversity and inappropriate behavior. And school officials promised there would be consequences for those responsible.

Educators said they do not believe the incident was done with hatred or prejudice.

There are fewer than 30 Jewish students at Parkway West Middle School, which has an enrollment of 850 students.

I am concerned that most are tacking the MSM line - smearing Ashley Todd.

There are some “inconsistencies” in this report (not from the girl, but from the “reporter”):

Ms. Todd told police during at least five hours of questioning last night that her attacker said to her, “You are going to be a Barack supporter.” She told police the man then sat on her chest, pinning both her hands down with his knees and used what she believed was a dull knife with a roughly 5-inch blade to carve the B.

Ms. Todd then went to a friend’s house in the 5100 block of Cypress Street, about a mile away, where she reported the incident to police about 45 minutes later. She declined medical treatment at that time.

A friend said Ms. Todd went to an unknown hospital on her own around 1 a.m.

1. 5 hours of questioning? (Attack 9pm. Reported to police 45 minutes later. She went to hospital at 1am.) That’s only 3 hours!

2. She declined medical treatment? I thought she went to the hospital? Which is it?

This is comforting. The vaunted YOUTH vote -- defined as 18 to 30 years of age -- is stuck around 17 percent. Look at these stats:

Since 2004 was supposed to be a banner year for "youth," I think it is reasonable to predict that our youth won't vote more than 18-19 percent. In all likelihood, it will be aroun 17 percent.

It's very weird. Even the very wealthy can't predict what will happen to them in this situation. You'd think they'd be pouring all their money into DEFEATING Obama and the Democrats, so these socialist policies DON'T get implemented. It doesn't matter that they can't contribute to Obama's campaign, they can contribute to the RNC and other organizations.

Well, at least the Chambers of Commerce are solidly against Obama and the Democrats and are putting their money where their mouth is. And they have no plans to let up even if he's elected.

REPOST, but really much more of an OPEN Thread convo anyway:

So yesterday, I pondered to myself what the Weathermen went off to do, after attempting a violent overthrow of the U.S. government, and mentally orgasming over murdering 25 million people. I did some research on the wiki and got some ANSWERS. (pun intended):

The original manifesto of the Weatherman was signed by 11 people: including Mark Rudd, Bernardine Dohrn, John Jacobs, Bill Ayers, Jim Mellen, Terry Robbins, Karen Ashley, Jeff Jones, Gerry Long, and Steve Tappis.

So as the VH1 show used to say: Where are they now?"

Mark Rudd TEACHER "He became an instructor of mathematics at Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque, New Mexico". Attitude towards Marxism; unchanged!

Bernadine Dohrn: TEACHER "In 1991, she was hired by Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago, as an adjunct professor of law, with the title "Clinical Associate Professor of Law" Also, "Dohrn now serves on the board of numerous human rights committees and teaches comparative law. Since 2002, she has served as Visiting Law Faculty at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. " Attitude towards Marxism and violence; unchanged!

John Jacobs: DECEASED. "Jacobs was cremated. Some of his ashes were spread in his backyard, some in English Bay, and some in Oregon (near a place he had visited while on the run).[1] Some of his ashes were also taken to Cuba and spread near the mausoleum of Che Guevara. A photo of Jacobs from the late 1960s is attached to a plaque next to the site.[1] An extensive statement, documenting Jacobs' life, is written on the plaque. It ends with the statement: "He wanted to live like Che. Let him rest with Che."[1]"

Bill Ayers: TEACHER "Ayers is currently a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Education."

Jim Mellen: UNKNOWN

Terry Robbins: DECEASED by "work accident". "The morning of March 6, 1970, while finishing up the preparations to bomb the Non-Commissioned Officers Dance at Fort Dix, New Jersey, Robbins and two other New York Collective members, Diana Oughton, and Ted Gold perished in the explosion of the New York City townhouse."

Karen Ashley: UNKNOWN

Jeff Jones: MEDIA & POLITICS "in the years after he gained his full freedom, Jones has worked as a reporter and editor covering New York State politics and policy. He was a communications director for ten years at Environmental Advocates of New York. He now heads up his own consulting firm called Jeff Jones Strategies that specializes in media expertise, writing and campaign strategies that help grassroots and progressive groups to achieve their goals."

Others Unknown.

If you read their bios you will see that most are either in politics, media, or teaching. Also interesting was their particular interest in CHILDREN. Many are also presently involved in the present SDS organizations on campuses today!

60 MandyManners  Fri, Oct 24, 2008 10:47:57am

Rarely has it been thought that the way to show you deserve to be the most powerful person on earth is to demonstrate you're also the touchiest. This presidential campaign has been an offense fest. From the indignation over a fashion writer's observation about Hillary Clinton's cleavage, to the outraged response to the infamous Obama New Yorker cover, to the histrionics over "lipstick on a pig," taking offense has been a political leitmotif. Slate's John Dickerson observed that umbrage is this year's hottest campaign tactic. And we can assume it will reach an operatic crescendo in these final weeks before Election Day.

It's often the pettiest-seeming things that drive people mad. Or worse. Jostling our way through the world can have violent consequences. A significant percentage of murders occur between acquaintances with the flash point being a trivial insult. Sometimes it seems we live in a culture devoted to retribution on behalf of the thin-skinned—just think of university speech codes. Comedian Larry David even celebrates his skill at giving and taking offense on his television show Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Feeling affronted has global implications: Islamic organizations and countries seek to ban speech anywhere they decide is insulting to Islam, asserting that a perceived insult can justify a deadly response.

Sorry, I read the data wrongly. This is the percentage of youth between 18-30, NOT the voting turnout. The turnout is higher.

Last election, the turnout was about 51.6%, 2004. Again, though, I doubt they'll turn out in such numbers for 2008.

By the way, folks, remember this:

If McCain, G-d willing, gets in, that just buys a small window of time. The money, fraud, and, more importantly, the propaganda machine will not go away, but will redouble its efforts.

Whether McCain wins or loses, it will take an awful lot of energy in the next four years to begin to lay a groundwork on which the American people can stand to reject the left in the next contest.

They've been building for forty years. We will have four to begin to build a response.

Perhaps we can use this photograph as inspiration: Your new overlords.

They've been saying that since 1972 and it NEVER happens. I don't have a link, but yesterday Rush quoted a poll that had over 50% (possibly 54% but I'm not sure) of 18-24 year olds going for McCain. Wouldn't that be a kick in the groin for the MSM and the Dems?

Yes, and it would be expected, too.
In 2004, 44% of youth voted for Bush IN THE MIDST OF IRAQ!
In 2000, 46.2% voted for Bush, pre-war.

I think we'll get about 40-50 percent of the youth vote. If that's the case, it hardly matters.

John Jacobs died on October 20, 1997. Jacobs was cremated. Some of his ashes were spread in his backyard, some in English Bay, and some in Oregon (near a place he had visited while on the run).[1] Some of his ashes were also taken to Cuba and spread near the mausoleum of Che Guevara.

This happened in 1997, I wonder if anyone knows who went to Cuba to do this? Was it Ayers?

IBD/Tipp Polls - McCain now just 1.1 point behind.

From the article:

"McCain has cut into Obama's lead for a second day and is now just 1.1 points behind. The spread was 3.7 Wednesday and 6.0 Tuesday. The Republican is making headway with middle- and working- class voters, and has surged 10 points in two days among those earning between $30,000 and $75,000. He has also gone from an 11-point deficit to a 9-point lead among Catholics."

I know, I know, polls are polls - but still. Something to smile about - too few things these days.

Mo. students face punishment for `Hit a Jew Day'
Oct 24, 5:18 AM (ET)

By JIM SALTER
ST. LOUIS (AP) - At least four students from a suburban St. Louis middle school face punishment for allegedly hitting Jewish classmates during what they called "Hit a Jew Day."
The incident happened last week at Parkway West Middle School in Chesterfield.
District officials said Thursday they believe that fewer than 10 children of the district's 35 Jewish students were struck.
District spokesman Paul Tandy said that in most cases, the students were hit on the back of their shoulders but one student was slapped in the face.
It began with an unofficial "Spirit Week" among sixth-graders that started harmlessly enough with a "Hug a Friend Day." Then there was "High Five Day."
Soon, though, the days moved from friendly to silly. Next there was "Hit a Tall Person Day" and, finally, "Hit a Jew Day."
District officials believe a handful of children were directly involved. Those who actually struck classmates could face suspension and required counseling, Tandy said. Others who weren't directly involved but taunted Jewish students or egged on classmates could face lesser penalties.
"There is a mix of sadness and outrage," Tandy said. "The concern is a lot of kids knew about it and they didn't take action or say anything."

The idea of universal coverage is appealing, I admit, because I worry about him getting insurance coverage as an adult, however, I am much more supportive of a system that will cure this damn disease ( and all the other ones out there as well). I do not want to see the American research machine dismantled, and I am afraid an Obama regime might do that as a result of their mistaken ideology.

If she made it, she falls into the 'driven to success by an unfortunate attribute' category.

Here is what I have been kicking around in my head lately. I assume people at LGF tend to those who consider self-reliance a virtue bordering on a moral imperative. Given that:

Should we spend the "window of time" fighting what seems like a loosing battle or put our energy into preparing for and possibly benefiting from the results of our trip down the path to socialism.

I was inside the dot-com bubble and kept telling people none it made sense and these companies were worthless. I ended up being correct but I did not benefit from my clairvoyance.

I was inside the housing bubble and I kept telling these people the prices were not sustainable. This time I prepared and was able to buy my 80 year old dream home in a wonderful neighborhood for $80 per square foot. Still I did not make as much as I could have.

Now I am inside the hope bubble telling people wealth distribution and new programs paid for by higher taxes on "the rich" is not sustainable. Should I waste the next four years trying to convince those who want to take someone else's wealth that they are morally and intellectually bankrupt. Or should I spend the time figuring out how to get more then my fair share of the handouts.

Or put it another way - should be spending my time trying to reason with the hurricane of people who are propelling Obama and his ideals forward, or should I spend my time boarding up the windows.

I am beginning to lean to the later.

Your head is going to explode. This is from the HuffPost. Talk about psychological projection...

Why Some Smart Women Think Palin is a Good Choice

So for whatever reason they have chosen, some smart women have fallen in love with the "idea" of Sarah Palin. She's smart. She's gutsy. She's a woman. And she would be the first woman 'this close' to the Presidency.

And what happens when these smart women are presented with contradictory evidence? "Let's go back to the relationship analogy," Dr. Susan says. "When our eyes finally open to someone, we have choices. We can either get out of the relationship (divorce), or we stay and deal with the cognitive dissonance."

But Dr. Susan says that some women feel they don't have a choice. Their core belief is so strong that they don't believe they have an alternative. For example, perhaps they are strongly against pro-choice. Or they want a woman in the Executive Branch no matter what. Or they cannot subscribe to any of the democratic platform of ideas. At that point, they have no choice but to continue their idealization of Palin, thereby finding a way around their cognitive dissonance, albeit in an unhealthy way.

So in order to keep idealizing her, our smart friends either deny (that Alaskan report didn't find her guilty of doing anything unlawful), rationalize (and besides, they were partisan), or ignore (I never heard about any report. Besides, I just like her!).

The bottom line? When it comes to our smart women friends, we probably aren't going to be able to change their minds about Sarah Palin. They are either still idealizing her, or they have a core belief too strong to accept any alternatives. But at least now we know why these smart women are choosing to consider Palin qualified and will check the Republican box on the ballot. We just don't have to like it.

From Wikipedia

Cognitive dissonance is an uncomfortable feeling caused by holding two contradictory ideas simultaneously. Ideas may include attitudes and beliefs, and also the awareness of one's behavior. The theory of cognitive dissonance proposes that people have a motivational drive to reduce dissonance by changing their attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors or by justifying or rationalizing their attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors.[1] Cognitive dissonance theory is one of the most influential and extensively studied theories in social psychology

If you want to see how it works talk to an Obama supporter who things the rich aren't paying their share of taxes and that the poor are shouldering the burden. Let them tell you how Obama is going to change all that and that is why they support him.

Then take them to the web and show them Congressional Budget Office numbers showing the bottom 40% pay no income taxes and the top 20% pay over 80% of income taxes.

That dear in the headlights look you get is cognitive dissonance.

Waiting For The Barbarians

-What are we waiting for, assembled in the forum?

The barbarians are due here today.

-Why isn't anything going on in the senate?
Why are the senators sitting there without legislating?

Because the barbarians are coming today.
What's the point of senators making laws now?
Once the barbarians are here, they'll do the legislating.

-Why did our emperor get up so early,
and why is he sitting enthroned at the city's main gate,
in state, wearing the crown?

Because the barbarians are coming today
and the emperor's waiting to receive their leader.
He's even got a scroll to give him,
loaded with titles, with imposing names.

-Why have our two consuls and praetors come out today
wearing their embroidered, their scarlet togas?
Why have they put on bracelets with so many amethysts,
rings sparkling with magnificent emeralds?
Why are they carrying elegant canes
beautifully worked in silver and gold?

Because the barbarians are coming today
and things like that dazzle the barbarians.

-Why don't our distinguished orators turn up as usual
to make their speeches, say what they have to say?

Because the barbarians are coming today
and they're bored by rhetoric and public speaking.

-Why this sudden bewilderment, this confusion?
(How serious people's faces have become.)
Why are the streets and squares emptying so rapidly,
everyone going home lost in thought?

Because night has fallen and the barbarians haven't come.
And some of our men who have just returned from the border say
there are no barbarians any longer.

Now what's going to happen to us without barbarians?
Those people were a kind of solution.

But the Truth is (and since its Friday), that Tikkun Olam without is a car excluding everything but the shell. H'S has told us Jews how He wishes for us to "Right The World", it is the insides of the term that these shmucks ignore.

They use a Jewish term, to describe whatever they want it to be. This is the crux of Reformism/Conservativism, etc. They couch Democrat Party values in the terms of Judaism.

This is exactly why I hold such contempt towards those movements.

Obama’s Redistribution of wealth

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read “Vote Obama, I need the money.” I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a “Obama 08″ tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference — just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need–the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I’ve decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient needed the money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.

I know it is late in the game, but I can't escape the feeling that the "October Surprise" hasn't come about just yet. Obama has too many skeletons in his closet and combine that with the fact he burned the Clinton machine (ie: PUMA). Ask yourself why would a candidate ask for more donations while urging supporters to vote as early as possible all the while leading in most polls. I sense a campaign that is nervous about things to come. Karma can be a bitch.

Just ask my ex.
