SNL: Biden and Murtha Say Crazy Stuff

Humor | Sun, Oct 26, 2008 at 2:12:31 pm PDT

Looks like Saturday Night Live is trying to redeem themselves now for their non-stop bashing of the McCain campaign. Astoundingly, this skit is actually funny.

I really love how the supporters behind "Biden" and "Murtha" look sicker and sicker the more they talk.

SNL's Opening Sketch [Mark Hemingway]
...may have just cost an embattled John Murtha his seat in congress. It should dominate the press tomorrow, and I expect it will be inescapable on the news in Murtha's district for the next week.

11 jwpaine  Sun, Oct 26, 2008 2:20:31pm

My guess is, SNL figures it's in the bag for The One, so the can afford to poke fun at others in his party. The O, though... well, they're still not worthy to touch the hem of His Garment.

SNL: “The Barack Obama Variety Half-Hour”

I’m leading with the first clip because it’s funnier (and because of the Ayers and Wright bit), but the second clip is the best Bill Russell campaign commercial you’ll ever see. A nationally televised seven-minute goof on Murtha as a demented crank a week before the election? Thanks, Lorne!

Sudeikis’s Biden impression is growing on me, too. The voice is wrong but the garrulous oafishness is so, so right.

I feel so great.
Just turned an obamalama voter to a McCain voter.
Like most Americans, she was clueless as to who The Zero really is. She came down to visit and I showed her a bunch of videos I had saved. She had no idea who ayers was or even Joe. She couldn't believe what they were doing to destroy Joe and Sarah.
Won't make that much difference in KY, but a vote is a vote.
Wish we all had time to drag those obots in off the street and show them the FACTS!

I predict that if Obama wins, Biden is going to be the 'fall guy' on the late night shows and SNL, they won't pick on Barack too much for fear of being called racist, luckily Biden is easy to make fun of.

I watched Letterman on a fairly regular basis, and as far as I know he's never made an Obama joke, not surprising since he leans pretty left nowadays.

Leno has treaded pretty lightly with some Obama jokes.

Just got this in an email:

McCain/Palin Poll Numbers Show Improvement in Michigan Prompting Bus Tour to Return to Michigan

* Rallies on Monday in Saginaw, Grand Blanc & Battle Creek

*Rally on Tuesday in Hillsdale
[MICHIGAN] -- A federally registered independent political action committee supporting the McCain/Palin presidential ticket is returning to the Great Lakes State as internal polling shows some improvement for the McCain campaign in Michigan.

"The Stop Obama Tour" traversed the Upper and Lower Peninsula of Michigan from October 23-25 and was in Ohio at the house of "Joe the Plumber" (Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher) when the positive polling news was received.

As a result, the Our Country Deserves Better Committee (website: [Link: www.OurCountryDeservesBetter.com...] ) has canceled planned events in Ohio and Pennsylvania to add Monday rallies in Saginaw, Grand Blanc & Battle Creek and a Tuesday morning rally in Hillsdale.
"We are so excited to see the reversal in the poll numbers for John McCain and Sarah Palin in Michigan," said Deborah Johns, a Marine Mom who is a spokesperson for the Our Country Deserves Better Committee.

"We're still a bit behind and we have a lot of work to do, but we are feeling very optimistic about the momentum that has started to build," Johns said.

The Our Country Deserves Better Committee will also continue running its television advertising campaign against Barack Obama and in support of the McCain/Palin ticket.

"Our message to the people of Michigan is that we won't give up the fight to have John McCain win this state, so long as you don't give up fighting either," Johns said.

No wonder they are rooting for Biden. He will write their material for them.

More like,

"We're right! You peasants are just too stupid to understand our subtle and nuanced reasoning!"

Biden (even in a parody) reminds me of why I voted for Bush over Kerry four years ago.

Anyone whose argument is, "I'm so much smarter than you are that you have no hope of comprehending how brilliant my plan is" is, IMHO, automatically too big an idiot to be in a position of responsibility.

Never mind that that logic has driven the Dems since 1952 at the latest.

93 arizona9  Sun, Oct 26, 2008 10:20:04pm

Unfortunately, most people watching the Biden bit won't have any clue what it is really about. Most don't know that Biden said that Obama would specifically and intentionally be tested in the first 6 months because he is so inexperienced because the media have completely ignored it. Most will simply see it as a skit goofing on Biden being goofy.

So, instead of Biden's outrageous comment dominating the last two weeks as it should have, it's just goes down the memory hole. Biden should have been making the rounds on every morning show today- being forced to specifically name the scenarios Biden spoke of when guaranteeing Obama would be tested. Instead, the media is blanket covering Palin's wardrobe bill and Biden is sleeping in this Sunday. God I hate these people.

94 Mostly Annoyed  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 5:46:04am

The only thing that would be better than this would be if Biden & Murtha had the balls to show up on SNL next week like Palin did. Now that would be really funny! SNL could really have some fun with those two nut jobs!(that is nut-less nut jobs) Of course the Obama machine would never let that happenm and SNL would go too easy on them.
