Charles- I disagree.

Rove is not able to bellyfeel the McCain majority. It is fundamentally different than the coalitions he put together in in 2000 and 04. IN addition, stir in a whole bunch of PUMAs in key blue states who have been lying their asses off to pollsters regarding their vote and things look much better than they seem.

McCain will get more Jewish votes in PA and FL than any Republican in US history. That is a huge help. Obama's numbers are not as deep as they look.

Believe in the victory.

It's hard to be optimistic about McCain's chances...its not impossible but he has to win EVERY battleground state pretty much. Obama only has to win a couple. Its not impossible but it doesn't look great.

Georgia update--great weekend!

Went to the county courthouse on Saturday thinking I would vote...the line was out the door and around the block so I decided to wait 'til election day. Went to the next county to get McCain/Palin yard signs.

Then, like a good capitalist, I went shopping.

Tomorrow...back to reality...

Maybe I'm simply an optimist, but I smell a lot of BS in these polls.

1. Does anyone REALLY believe that Obama will win the white working class vote in states like PA & Ohio - when he got blown-out by Hillary in these primaries with those demographics?

2. Obama almost always overpolled in the primaries

3. There will be a lot of Dems crossing over for McCain . . . while Dems may be ahead in the early voting, I really don't think all of them are voting Obama, do you?

4. Obama is not going to get a lot of Republicans crossing over to vote for him.

Let's see what Nov 4th brings. In the meantime, get out & vote . . . and get your friends to do the same, if they are voting McCain

Besides, I can't honestly believe that if Joe the Plumber being smart enough to realize that Obama is just giving handouts (I base this statement based on Sam W's on-the-spot direct question to Senator Obama, and also based on Sam W's reaction to Senator Obama's "spread the wealth around" comment.......NOT on the post media hype of this exchange), that if Joe the Plumber AMERICA can figure this out....that:

Thedemos and reviews I saw from Soulstorm dissuaded me from buying the game (but I'll get it if its reasonably discounted) even though I wanted to play as the Dark Eldar.

One of the best things about the DoW games was the voice acting. Especially in Dark Crusade, where the commanders berated each other when entering a stronghold. In fact, I told someone that I preferred DoW over Warcraft III for RTS games.

/but it's still a narrow victory, as Warcraft III is still very awesome.

Hey Rose. A lot of Democrats traditionally don't show up on election day. Most say that they had to work and the students just pull a no-show. The more they can get to vote early the better chance they have of winning.

Comcast has been locking me out of LGF all week so I haven't been able to raise a major stink over the ridiculous dog and pony show Alan Greenspan enthusiastically participated in this week.

"Testifying" before all the usual suspects -- Dodd, Waxman, et al. -- and the television cameras, Greenspan launched an audacious attack on the foundations of the American financial system that managed to at once deep-six the world's financial markets overnight while at the same time brutalize the average Joe's faith in the American way. All of it in a manner that dovetailed perfectly with Barack Obama's talking points.

It was quite a performance. It produced headlines like this that bolster Obama's candidacy:

and coverage like this that decisively tanked the world's market over night to Friday morning:

Greenspan has not right to say this ten days before a presidential election. He knows the markets hang on his words. Greenspan has no right to bad mouth market economics. He knows there is nothing else -- except barrel-of-a-gun economics.

Greenspan is obviously campaigning for Obama.

I think Greenspan is pussy whipped.

Nope.

He's urging people to vote early because any vote that's been cast is "in the bank". Doesn't depend on whether the voter has the flu, gets a flat tire, has an out-of-town unanticipated business trip or whatever. Also, all votes that are out of the way simplify GOTV efforts on Election Day.

I stopped at my mother's house yesterday. (Took her shopping for the day.) When we came back she listened to her answering machine, and there were 2 messages, one from Obama campaign, one from McCain's.

The Obama message was a personal one (not a recording) by a woman with a very pleasant voice...It had that personal touch - (kind of like getting a real letter, not a form letter that you just toss out).

The McCain message was a recording, a male voice (and unfortunately, not even a nice pleasant voice).

My mother - an undecided (I'm working hard on her though!) listened to the Obama message in its entirety, but immediately deleted that robot voice!

Just wanted to encourage everyone that sometimes the little things we CAN do, really could help!

Hey Rose. A lot of Democrats traditionally don't show up on election day. Most say that they had to work and the students just pull a no-show. The more they can get to vote early the better chance they have of winning.

I know plenty of people who vote early to avoid the madness. All of them are Staunch republicans. In 2000 they did a count of the early votes and found it ran nearly 90% REPUBLICAN here.
There is less preasure on the staff, so they check more thoroughly, so fraudlent voters would get caught more easily.

Thedemos and reviews I saw from Soulstorm dissuaded me from buying the game (but I'll get it if its reasonably discounted) even though I wanted to play as the Dark Eldar.

One of the best things about the DoW games was the voice acting. Especially in Dark Crusade, where the commanders berated each other when entering a stronghold. In fact, I told someone that I preferred DoW over Warcraft III for RTS games.

/but it's still a narrow victory, as Warcraft III is still very awesome.

I picked up Soulstorm because I'm a long time 40k fan. The DE and SoB weren't really that great. I like using either the IG, Orks or Tau.

Rice went to Stanford, she is friendly with former 49ers receiver and current league director of football operations Gene Washington and she's expressed interest in joining the league in some capacity. But how would she be welcomed in San Francisco? Her politics don't exactly scream "Bay Area." The prospect of Rice joining the 49ers got a chilly reception from show co-hosts Marshall Faulk and Warren Sapp, and I imagine it would get a similar response from most 49ers fans.

First and foremost I'm going to be voting a straight Republican ticket. Obama isn't inevitable. We can still win, and it is every freedom-loving America's duty to try and keep Obama out of Office. If Obama wins, I'm going to be calling and writing my State's two Senators and my Congressman to encourage them to oppose Obama vigorously. The Republicans were too easy on Bill Clinton, especially in letting him appoint Supreme Court judges. Ginsburg should have never been allowed on the bench.

Likewise, I'll encourage the Leadership of the Republican Party to oppose Obama, and my State representatives and senators to Oppose Obama's agenda.

One thing that I'm not going to do is take to the streets in violent protest. Now is not the time nor the place to do so. OTOH, if the Dems riot in my area, I will defend my family and property win whatever force is necessary. Given where I live, though, I really don't expect that to happen. There may very well be riots in places like Chicago and Atlanta, and I'll support the troops that deal with that.

I don't expect, in the short term, that I'll have to use force for anything. We're not that far gone yet. I will closely monitor the Obama Administration, and adjust my positions based on the facts as the situation unfolds. What I'm not going to do is just sit at home and whine about the direction of the Country. We can, thank God, change our country through the voting booth and other non-violent actions.

If we all work together, it will be possible to minimize the damage Obama does in his first term.. If we just sit around crying, and allow the Democrats to run rough-shod over us, things will get very unpleasant. The past couple of years, the Republicans have acted like they are powerless against the machinations of Blinky and Reid. They have to do better. And it is our duty to hold their feet to the fire.

Yes, it does. They caused the crisis, and now they have to nerve to use it to their political advantage. Every time it looks like the markets are going to get their footing, out comes the Washington establishment with another dictum which seems designed to cast doubt over the value of things. Traders need to know what things are worth so they can do their job. If Washington just keeps clouding the issue then traders have no alternative than to sell and/or go short until the prices find a footing. The president seems to have been made aware of this because he was extrememely cautious in even even getting up a good pep talk the other day -- assuring everyone he is not proposing anything new.

But leave it to Congress to blow smoke up everyone's ass when it is to their political advantage.

"Testifying" before all the usual suspects -- Dodd, Waxman, et al. -- and the television cameras, Greenspan launched an audacious attack on the foundations of the American financial system that managed to at once deep-six the world's financial markets overnight while at the same time brutalize the average Joe's faith in the American way. All of it in a manner that dovetailed perfectly with Barack Obama's talking points.

It was quite a performance. It produced headlines like this that bolster Obama's candidacy:

Greenspan has not right to say this ten days before a presidential election. He knows the markets hang on his words. Greenspan has no right to bad mouth market economics. He knows there is nothing else -- except barrel-of-a-gun economics.

Greenspan is obviously campaigning for Obama.

I think Greenspan is pussy whipped.

I think you have to temper the Donk vote being reported in some early voting with the thought that many of those Donk votes were actually Rush's Repubs who crossed over, changed their registrations so that they could vote for Hillary in the primary in order to cause chaos in the primaries. No matter how you look at it, McCain has a tough row to hoe.
I don't berlieve that all of the pollsters are in collusion to elect Barry, like the MSM.
What may be happening is that a lot of McCain supporters are refusing to participate, because they do not want to appear racist, for not supporting Obama.

They'll never do it, any more than the Hollywood stars who claimed they'd move to Canada or Europe if Bush won re-election. If rich Hollywood stars wouldn't do something they could do quite easily, you really think counties would secede from the Union?

I've been participating on it today but the responses are coming in so heavily that it's hard to keep up.

Barack Obama accidentally exposed his hand when he answered Joe the Plumbers' question, and it's resonating in a powerful way with ordinary Americans all across the nation.

Read through some of the comments on this thread... the Obama camps' effort to shut down anyone in the media that doesn't agree with them is backfiring, big time. People are clearly beginning to wake up, even former Obama supporters who are seeing things clearly for the very first time, and they are OUTRAGED.

The Obama camp is running scared. They've completely lost their ability to control the information about BOs' "associations" and his socialist agenda, and the campaign is bleeding like a stuck pig. The API tapes are due to be released any day now and when they're released, the shit is going to hit the fan with only a few days left in the election cycle.

The Obama bus is careening out of control, and heading straight towards a cliff.... they know it and they're scared as hell, scrambling to shut people down, shut people up and supress anyone who asks the tough questions before election day using every means at their disposal to do so.

The train has left the station, and they know full well now that they're not going to be able to stop it. It's all going to blow up in their collective faces over the next few days, and THIS is why they are "urging", their supporters in Denver and elsewhere to cast their votes for Barack Obama "early".

The stench of fear from camp Obama is overwhelming.
We're winning, folks... the tide has turned.

The more they can get to vote now--with insufficient checking of fraudulent registrations, as has occurred in Ohio, for one--the more they can get to vote again on Election day, under their own names or under other false registrations.

And the more they can build up a reserve of pre-stolen votes to be tapped on as needed.

Most dems I've worked with over the years find an excuse for not voting. Remember the 2000 and 2004 MTV "Rock The Vote" campaigns...the youth was suppose to be the difference in both elections...it didn't pan out in either.

But I was interested to look at the media pen after reading your previous post. I don't know what to compare it to - and it is Sunday - but as you had alluded to before it was a ghost town. There were many tables set up for media to sit with their laptops, etc.... I saw two laptops and one other guy with a blackberry. Other than that there may have been one or two photographers there...... that's it.

Hasselbeck was great and she started out by saying how nice it was for her to get to talk for 5 min without being interrupted!

There's been tremendous interest by the public in the box office fate of Oliver Stone's W. for its second weekend in release. Well, it ran out of steam. QED International/Lionsgate's Bush biopic sank 58% to No. 7 with a $5.3M weekend from 2,050 dates and new cume of $18.7M. The $30M negative cost film should end up with $23M domestic box office gross by the end of its North American run. That means, with a $25M P&A investment and Lionsgate's distribution fees, the film won't recoup.

Note to self: ask 'Just My View' if he/she spent money to see the movie.

No matter how you look at it, McCain has a tough row to hoe.
I don't berlieve that all of the pollsters are in collusion to elect Barry, like the MSM.
What may be happening is that a lot of McCain supporters are refusing to participate, because they do not want to appear racist, for not supporting Obama.

I have been tracking a lot of the MSM stories and polls. The New Yorker magazine has already declared BHO the winner. And, the MSM continues to skew their stories all the way to the bitter end (ie., this absurd story of Palin being a diva - incredibly sexist and untrue).

So I am taking this time to make a PSA: Please do not give in to fears or doubts. Just fight and fight some more. And do not believe everything you read. The MSM is invested in BHO's victory the way they were invested in the defeat of our troops in Iraq. More significantly, no one knows what will happen. There are many persons who will never vote for BHO who are not being polled. From the core support to the PUMA's, Vets, Disabled/Special Needs, Elderly-(which could be BIG), independants who fear socialism, to just men who like Sarah for, well, I will leave it at that, there are many reasons to be optimistic. Karl Rove is a smart guy but this election presents variables he has never seen before, (a black & a woman) among other demographics.

Lastly, if you have to whine, save it for after the election. If we win, life is good and no one is going to say I told you so...(well, maybe I will) but if the opposite occurs, you can cry in your beer then. We are at the end now, the last days are crucial so let us be unified and win this thing because it is winnable and that is not pie-in-the-sky!

Barack Obama accidentally exposed his hand when he answered Joe the Plumbers' question, and it's resonating in a powerful way with ordinary Americans all across the nation.

Read through some of the comments on this thread... the Obama camps' effort to shut down anyone in the media that doesn't agree with them is backfiring, big time. People are clearly beginning to wake up, even former Obama supporters who are seeing things clearly for the very first time, and they are OUTRAGED.

The Obama camp is running scared. They've completely lost their ability to control the information about BOs' "associations" and his socialist agenda, and the campaign is bleeding like a stuck pig. The API tapes are due to be released any day now and when they're released, the shit is going to hit the fan with only a few days left in the election cycle.

The Obama bus is careening out of control, and heading straight towards a cliff.... they know it and they're scared as hell, scrambling to shut people down, shut people up and supress anyone who asks the tough questions before election day using every means at their disposal to do so.

The train has left the station, and they know full well now that they're not going to be able to stop it. It's all going to blow up in their collective faces over the next few days, and THIS is why they are "urging", their supporters in Denver and elsewhere to cast their votes for Barack Obama "early".

The stench of fear from camp Obama is overwhelming.
We're winning, folks... the tide has turned.

I think it is going to be very hard watching the results come in on election night. The East Coast polls will close first and Obama will be way ahead. Pundits get to spin for an hour while waiting and for the CST/MT "flyover" zones to report for McCain. The pundits get to do all the electoral college manipulations, and rehash of campaign mistakes for hours and hours. I will be totally p.o'd by 11:00. I only have Tylenol#3 in the house, it may not be enough!

That reminded me of getting to know a gentleman named Jim 'Bones' Benton during the 1980s in Pine Bluff.

Tall dude, prolly 6'3" or 6'4", but weighted about 190 tops. We were talking one day and he mentioned that he'd played some pro ball for the Rams and Bears in the late '30s and '40s. Since that was long before I was born, I 'uh huhed' him and the topic shifted.

I looked him up on the intraweb tubes the other day.

Benton made his N.F.L. debut in 1938 with the Cleveland Rams, who made him a first-round draft choice, and led the league in average yards per reception (19.9). In his second season, his seven touchdown catches were a league high.

When the Rams suspended play in 1943 because of World War II's inroads on athletics, Benton joined the Chicago Bears after he had been rejected for Navy service because of a heart murmur. He caught a touchdown pass from Luckman in the Bears' 41-21 victory over the Washington Redskins in the 1943 championship game.

Benton returned to the Rams when they rejoined the N.F.L. in 1944 and turned in one of the greatest offensive performances in league history on Thanksgiving Day 1945. Hooking up with Waterfield, who was a rookie, Benton caught 10 passes for 303 yards, exceeding Hutson's single-game record by 66 yards, in the Rams' 28-21 victory over the Detroit Lions. Benton led N.F.L. receivers in total yardage (1,067) that season and caught a touchdown pass in the Rams' 15-14 victory over the Redskins in the N.F.L. championship game.

In 1946, when the Rams moved to Los Angeles, Benton led the N.F.L. in catches (63) and receiving yardage (981).

Benton's one-game yardage record stood until Stephone Paige of the Kansas City Chiefs amassed 309 yards against the San Diego Chargers in December 1985.

We are an exceptional nation and he wants to make us another Belgium.

Vote on November 4th so that we can celebrate Veteran's Day a week later instead of mourning the last time the American soldier will be honored in the White House for four long years.

We took a vote and a significant number of Lizards opted not to be photographed. So here is where we met and in Zombie tradition - we are not in the photos.

One could have called it a pre victory celebration. Sharmuta would have approved.

Everything from a pic of a Pit Bull with lipstick - autographed by Sarah Paulin at her Reno appearance a couple days ago. A tin foil hat and multi themed tee shirt. Good food. Outstanding intellectually engaging conversation. New friends made and some old ones missed.

We will be doing this again.

Everything from a pic of a Pit Bull with lipstick - autographed by Sarah Paulin at her Reno appearance a couple days ago. A tin foil hat and multi themed tee shirt. Good food. Outstanding intellectually engaging conversation. New friends made and some old ones missed.

We will be doing this again.

When I was driving home from a visit to my local gun range, I saw a big picture of Obama slapped on the side of a building and I thought of those old Soviet Propaganda pictures with Stalin or Lenin or something, and when I got home I commented to my fiancee, that no US Presidential Candidate's campaign literature should remind me of any Soviet dictator.

Question...I shoot almost every sunday with a group at the range. We're funny group. Airline pilots, plumbers, Union factory workers, lawyers...pretty much a good section what is going on in this county.

The union Democrats seem in no way to trust Obama.

Are you getting the same thing?

Yeah, I'm just seeing that a lot of the support is the college crowd, some of our local groups, the working union guys, he's not trusted.

My dad a hard core Democrat, who voted for Mondale even doesn't like him, not sure what that means for things.

My personal reason is I spent 10 years in Daley's Chicago, I know what a "community organizer" is, it's a fancy name for Ward Heeler or Extortionist.

Besides the last thing I want is the Tribune to get to pick a president, they're the reason he's gotten this far.
