Obama Lawyer Intimidating Student Journalists

Politics | Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 10:14:26 am PDT

A lawyer for the Barack Obama campaign sent an email containing a thinly veiled threat to student journalists who have exposed voter fraud in Ohio.

From: Rosenberg, Thomas
Date: Sun, Oct 26, 2008 at 2:32 PM
Subject: At least in today’s blog you spelled my last name right
To: tiffany

In other words, I am going to read what you write and watch what you say. Hopefully you will be fair and impartial as you told me you would be.

Thomas L. Rosenberg
Roetzel & Andress, LPA

Columbus, OH 43215

UPDATE at 10/27/08 10:28:46 am:

Greta Van Susteren updates her post:

UPDATE: 1:10pm — I was told the lawyer apologized to the Palestra journalist..and said he did not mean it to be an intimidation.

Right.

When the Mighty One says you shall be 'impartial' you better be.

Or else you'll have Tom Rosenberg on yo' ass.

This is why you need to be a boy scout and get the rifle merit badge and then be psychologically fortified against this sort of intimidation

Wow.

If this story gets enough traction, I think they'll be someone else under the bus in the very near future...

That was not the student journalist intimidating lawyer I thought I knew.

Wouldn't be all that hard to find and a few letters telling him we will be watching him might be appropriate?

14 jaunte  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 10:21:13am

OBAMA: "There's no doubt that I have friends and continue to have friends that come out of the more traditional school of Chicago politics, but that's not what launched my career and that's not what I've ever depended on in order to get elected."

...and then Thomas Rosenberg's lips fell off.

Besides the obvious intent to intimidate the student journalist, notice the subject.

Then notice how everything in the entire email is capitalized properly. Then notice that Mr. Rosenberg refused to capitalize the name of the person he was writing the email to.

Just another little reminder to Tiffany that Thomas is superior to her in every way.

Arrogant, condescending, and elitist.

re: #33 CapeCoddah

Gov. Sarah Palin hung in effigy. They say it is "all in good fun"

Tried to post this earlier today but the hamsters were not up to speed:

This display of political hatred is brought to us by some Leftist piece of shit in West Hollywood, California.

We mock and prosecute Klansmen for their stupid and destructive behavior. But the fact of the matter is that Klansmen act the way they do because they believe that they are superior beings destined to rule over those they have deemed to be inferiors.

Guess who else believe themselves to be superior beings?

The Left.

Who else preached hatred and murder of inferiors?

The Left.

One would be hard pressed to find a greater example of homicidal hatred (other than the NSDAP) preached and commanded at the political level than Lenin screaming for the mass murder of the Kulaks. Which is to say the extermination of those who refused to obey him and worship him as their God and Savior in the place of Jesus Christ.

As stupid and destructive as the Klan was they could not in a million years match the insanity and deadliness of The Left in absolute power. The Klan simply could not lynch enough Africans to match the 100 million person worldwide bodycount that Leftist regimes have run up since November of 1917.

But if Lefties in America want to behave like Klansmen then let's start treating them like Klansmen.

What are your questions on this block of instruction?

(Hat Tip to Dirty Harry)

obama is addressing a screaming mob in ohio as I write this. he has them mesmerized in a way i have not seen since germany in the 1930s. he is making so many promises that there is no way he can deliver. it is beyond frightening that this snake oil salesman is on the verge of being our next president. while my fellow citizens in connecticut are going to vote for him, I will not. and i pray that there are enough right thinking citizens around the country that will vote for mccain. obama is simply full of shit.

Tony as a fellow Connecticutite, I echo your statement.
How anyone in this State, which we both know is heavy in Defense, can support him after hearing that he wants to gut the defense industry is beyond me. Where do they think the jobs are going to come from, Foxwoods and the Mohegan Sun?

Both groups use terrorist tactics.

The Democrats don't want us to win. That would be imperialistic of us. We should accept defeat, even if it is not forced on us by the enemy in the field. They act like surrendering would be an act without repercussions, but they are wrong. I really don't think they care about what it would do this country. In case you missed it, Michale Yon had a new dispatch today.

Per the e-mail notification, this is Yon's take on the election:

"The outcome of the upcoming U.S. elections will have a profound impact on the war. Meanwhile, the day to day fighting continues. If Senator Obama is elected, I expect to spend a great deal of time covering the fighting. Judging by his words, Senator Obama must be watched closely or we might see some terrible decisions. I expect 2009 to be the worst year so far in the Af-Pak war, which has serious potential to eventually become far worse than Iraq ever was. If Senator McCain is elected, I'll breathe easier in regard to the war."

Radio news just played a clip of BHO saying, "The real question is whether you will be better off four years from now."

I say the real question is whether the nation will be here four years from now, under a BHO administration.

Get out and vote. Get out and apply that five feet of influence on your friends and acquaintances. I'm planning on taking a print out of the home page at [Link: www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com...] to homes displaying BHO signs in my neighborhood.

.............DISGRACE TO THE JEWISH PEOPLE

It takes more than family heritage to be to be a morally attuned Jew, no? Respectfully, I don't see this guy as a disgrace to a whole people. I see him as missing the entire point of Jewish morality, and therefore a disgrace only to himself.

If I'm getting you correctly, you're saying that it's imperative to call your Jewish brother on his malfeasance. Did I get it? I'll leave that part up to you. Meanwhile, as a Christian, I don't see one bad apple/bully as disgracing an entire people.

You didn't get your deck?

There "was/is" a site that lists more than a 1,000 Islamic terrorists (at large, captured or dead). I may have the link on my other computer which is not currently available. It is on the net somewhere.

John McCain calls it socialism, I call it opportunity? Did he just say that? Was anybody listening?

Yes, Obama did say that. And he added...it's the American way! Obama received loud applause from his brain-washed followers.

I bet if he had said.....let's kill 25 million American unrepentant capitalists, he would have received favourable applause from his followers too. And the media would headline it as....."Obama's bold plan to solve world food shortage"

Barack Obama, in 2001:

[snip]
You know, if you look at the victories and failures of the civil-rights movement, and its litigation strategy in the court, I think where it succeeded was to vest formal rights in previously dispossessed peoples. So that I would now have the right to vote, I would now be able to sit at a lunch counter and order and as long as I could pay for it, I’d be okay, but the Supreme Court never entered into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society.

[snip]

Ouch!

205 Montaigne's Cat  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 3:00:15pm

I am 100% opposed to Obama, and I think the mainstream or elite media are disgraces to the heritage of western civilization, and I think dissent against Obama is being intimidated, and this will be institutionalized if he is elected.

However,

In this instance, the lawyer sent a kinda friendly email, with a light tone in the subject line, and an avuncular message reminding her that he would be reading what she writes, and recalling her prior pledge to him to be impartial. There is nothing wrong in his email. I am surprised that so many lgf posters are reacting in a knee-jerk manner.

206 Charles  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 3:23:09pm

re: #205 Montaigne's Cat

I think most people who received an email like the one above would view it as a threat; when a lawyer says they're going to be watching everything you write, that's not just an innocuous, friendly letter.

207 Montaigne's Cat  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 3:59:34pm

re: #206 Charles

Oh, no! My hero of many years disagrees with me. I am at once chastened by his reply and flattered that he replied. Severe cognitive dissonance. Nuts and bolts coming apart inside my brain, steam coming out my ears. Internal system damage likely. Danger. What to think, what to think?

Whew... I've cooled down. Systems back to normal. I reached a solution: in this case I reserve the inalienable right to be wrong.

208 TalkinKamel  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 8:55:28pm

re: #207 Montaigne's Cat

Well, don't let those nuts and bolts hit anybody as they fly hither and yon.

I've worked around lawyers. This is not a friendly, avuncular message; when a lawyer hints he's got his eye on you, it's a good idea to contact your own attorney. Lawyers are not playful people. And I've yet to meet one I'd describe as "avuncular." They don't waste time on reminders, just for the heck of it; their time's too valuable. You want playful? You want friendly? The hourly rate's $300.00 an hour, pal, so unless you're my client, giddadahere! They don't send out e-mails, write letters, memos, etc., unless they mean it.

So, crank up that inalienable right to be wrong, and resign yourself to your on-going shock, as we continue to react in our "knee-jerk" way, because this is a (pretty thinly) veiled threat, and I most intelligent people will recognize it as such.

Laughable. The subject line of that email is classic liberal passive-aggressive BS

and an avuncular message reminding her that he would be reading what she writes, and recalling her prior pledge to him to be impartial. There is nothing wrong in his email. I am surprised that so many lgf posters are reacting in a knee-jerk manner.

Avuncular? I'd call it patronizing. Better get your glasses checked, seems to me they're of the tinted rose variety.
