Neo-Nazi Assassination Plot Discovered

US News | Mon, Oct 27, 2008 at 2:06:27 pm PDT

Thank goodness this plot was discovered before these neo-Nazi creeps had a chance to harm anyone: Assassination plot targeting Obama disrupted.

WASHINGTON — Federal agents have broken up a plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people in a Tennessee murder spree, the ATF said Monday.

In court records unsealed Monday, federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school by two neo-Nazi skinheads. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of the Nashville field office for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.

The men also sought to go on a national killing spree, with Obama as its final target, Cavanaugh told The Associated Press.

Does anyone know what the numbers symbolize?

3 TheMatrix31  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:09:23pm

Ugh. How disgusting.

That said, this type of thing is absolutely detrimental to our campaign.

4 ted  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:10:00pm

Sick.

5 Charles  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:13:11pm

re: #2 loppyd

Does anyone know what the numbers symbolize?

'88' refers to 8th letter in the alphabet, H. Two 8s together symbolize 'Heil Hitler'.

'14' is a reference to the '14 words' coined by white supremacist David Lane (now in jail):

We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.

6 nigella  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:14:13pm

OK as disgusting this is this plot consisted of two skin heads who were going to break into a gun store then go to a high school and kill x number of black students, then kill Obama? Riiiiiight. The school shooting part is really scary but I highly doubt these two nut-cases were going to get any where near Obama. When I first saw the headlines I thought it was some massive group of skin-heads. Not too smart either. Of course Obama will use it and the MSM will also. Not helpful to McCain.

7 Dianna  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:14:21pm

I'm really glad they were stopped.

But I must wonder, just how serious were these guys? They were going to rob a gun store and go on their spree? They couldn't even plan far enough ahead to already have their own guns? Or were they already disqualified from the background checks, due to mental problems (and how come that never seems to stop the ones like the guy at Virginia Tech?) and felony convictions?

8 doppelganglander  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:15:04pm

Thanks a lot, you dumbasses. Way to give the Obamites more ammunition.

/yeah, the pun is deliberate.

9 opnion  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:15:11pm

A little off topic an Obama spokesman waas on Cavuto talking about the Biden/ Barbara West interview. He said that the Orlando station will be cut off for the duratiobn of the Obama Presidency.
I can hear it now, :"To all Cadres, by order of Comrade Obama, only Party approved media outlets will be privy to information & interviews.
Further all reactionary, counter revolutionary organs will be shut down.

The lefty blogs are going to go insane about this.

11 Catttt  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:16:01pm

Thank goodness for the Feds, doing their job day after day. We have a sense these days that our politicians are somehow safe, but we forget sometimes that this is due to the Feds doing their job to guard them every minute of every day and their ability to learn of plots and to catch lunatics like these guys.

More power to the Feds. It's a never-ending hard job.

12 Daisy  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:16:13pm

Glad they were caught. Unfortunately, there are more where they came from. Evil is like that.

13 Ringo the Gringo  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:16:14pm

Speaking of Nazis....There is a photo posted at this blog which shows a person wearing a Nazi arm patch that they claim was taken at a Sarah Palin rally.

The picture is making it's way around the Lefty blogs today, but as far as I can see, the picture could have been taken anywhere.

Anyone else see this?

re: #10 Charles

The lefty blogs are going to go insane about this.

Naturally.

However, it's two guys who couldn't plot their way out of a paper bag, and so big-mouthed that law enforcement caught them without really having to breathe hard.

What does that say?

17 newsjunkie_ky  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:17:13pm

These idiots should never see the outside of a prison cell for as long as they live.
Thank goodness the Feds got these aholes. Hope they got all of them and this will deter any others from even thinking about this.

I don't follow. What in the world does it have to do with us or the McCain campaign?

I wonder if the FBI or local police were the ones who had a bead on this first. They say ATF, but I don't see how they would be involved unless it had to do with plans to rob the gun store.
In any case, bravo to law enforcement for catching this so fast!

22 rboa  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:18:27pm

This seems about a fishy as the attack story last week about the letter 'B' carved into a woman's face. I'll give it 48 hrs.

23 lgfvidz  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:18:40pm

I like the headline: ATF "foiled" the plot. They didn't foil anything. It was completely by accident. And needles to say, these two aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, i'd be surprised if any candidate referred to this in any context. In fact, the headline was at the top of the msnbc website at first and highlighted in red, now its a tiny footnote that you would miss if you weren't looking for the story.

This will just cause more racial problems right now when things are so raw ..

OT ... Megan Kelly is bringing it to Burton from Senator Government campaign ..Go Girl!

31 Steve_NO  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:19:46pm

well, obviously to the extent there is any reality to this, its a good thing they were caught and I hope they throw the book at them.

sounds like a couple of glue sniffing 'tards, with grandiose plans for race war, but insufficient brain power to accomplish a mission to Taco Bell.

the lefties will now attempt to paint them as typical McCain supporters, and BTW we really need some better gun control, as well as domestic surveillance on those who do not yet see the benefits of the Way of the Anointed One.

Right. Sounds like a guy going up to an angel investor asking for $20 million, but with no plan beyond, "open up some stores and sell some stuff".

33 Salem  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:20:36pm

I wouldn't see the point of it. A story of two bumbling idiots isn't much of a story. The story about Mrs. backwards-B is more of a story due to the campaign pushing it, and the context which the allegations were made.

35 Killer Tomato  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:21:21pm

The chances of success were probably close to zero but I'm glad the unhinged nutcases were picked up.

They were planning on "robbing a gun store" for crying out loud. They obviously had no idea what kind of security is required to operate a firearms store and they would have either been thwarted by the security system or picked up by the police in the attempt.

New Wright Ad Attacks Obama in Battlegrounds

[Link: blogs.abcnews.com...]

A Republican political action committee on Monday is launching a new TV ad campaign in three battleground states featuring Sen. Barack Obama alongside the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, in the latest salvo from a GOP-aligned group to use clips of Obama’s controversial former pastor.

The ad, from the National Republican Trust PAC, features now-famous video of Wright declaring “God damn America,” and the “US of KKKA.”

“For 20 years Barack Obama followed a preacher of hate and said nothing as Wright raged against our country,” the ad says. “He built his power base in Wright's church. Wright was his mentor, adviser and close friend. For 20 years Obama never complained -- until he ran for president. Barack Obama. Too radical. Too risky.”

41 nigella  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:22:39pm

JacksonTn, I agree. Why not release it after the election? Also why didn't the Stevens trial verdict be held until after the election? They were mighty quick to decide. Don't get me wrong Stevens was one rotten apple.

In any case, hope the skinheads spend the rest of their lives in prison. Gomer, meet Bubba, your new cellmate.

Just what you'd expect from brain dead skinheads. Start out on a murder spree by committing suicide.

Reminding me of the time my Male and I were walking out of our favorite gun range, which is right next to the local cop shop and across the street from a fairly serious dojo. There were some punks hanging around the edge of the parking lot, trying to look tough.

We looked at each other for a moment, and I said, "Do you ever find yourself thinking that there are people who simply don't think it through?"

My Male nodded. "Right. They're trying to intimidate people with firearms, martial arts training, and badges."

In unison: "This is not going to end well!"

77 CIA Reject  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:30:35pm

There are a number of things about this story which don't add up (to me anyway).

1) If I read this properly all of the "quotes" are from a court document of some sort, not live sources.

2) Apparently this document came out of ATF, not FBI. If it was an active case I'm pretty sure that ATF would have referred it to FBI and FBI would be releasing the information.

3) The story doesn't say when the plot was broken up or at what stage. Is there any info on that?

This may well be a valid story, but to me it smells too much like some bureaucrat in ATF trying to grab a bigger piece of the pie by currying favor with the front runner and throwing out info on some old case that makes it look like the messiah's life is currently being threatened by gun toting racists.

78 doppelganglander  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:31:00pm

I've just got to wonder whether there was anything more to the "assassination plot" than some idle boasting by a couple of mouth-breathers. It wouldn't surprise me if the ATF is highly exaggerating that aspect for political purposes.

First the Ron-Paul neurotic fat idiot who made up a story about getting robbed at gun point by a 6'6'' black man, who them carved a B for "Barack" on her face.... that was racist.

Now these moronic skinheads... with a plan as vile as ridiculous, which was never going to get enacted, but would just damage the McCain campaign and give Obama ammunition.

The sad thing is these freaks are not Mobies either. There are very many insane cooks on the Left, but somehow it's the cooks on the right that have been making the headlines.

It's getting ridiculous... These sick marginal freaks need to be weeded out of the political spectrum.

Keith Olbermann, who always condemns reports of thwarted jihadist plots as fear mongering, and reasons that plots that don't actually succeed were never a danger, will obviously lead the throng of leftists who rage over this.

re: #37 Wendya

The chances of success were probably close to zero but I'm glad the unhinged nutcases were picked up.

They were planning on "robbing a gun store" for crying out loud. They obviously had no idea what kind of security is required to operate a firearms store and they would have either been thwarted by the security system or picked up by the police in the attempt.

Or shot by the store owner.
That would have been the best outcome.

re: #77 CIA Reject

Dingdingdingdingding! We have a winnah!

102 zombie  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 2:35:34pm

While these bonehead Nazi assholes need to be locked up ASAP for a long time, I seriously doubt that their plot would have come anywhere close to ever actually happening. I mean, they were still in the sheer fantasy stage -- they hadn't even robbed the gun store yet. Much less done any of their other crap.

I seriously doubt they would have even gotten past step one. Robbing a gun store -- when you yourself do not yet have a gun -- is complete idiocy, and if they had tried, they probably would have not survived the attempt. Which is fine by me.

As for the rest -- yeah, you'll be able to sit there and slowly behead 102 people. Yeah. That's really gonna happen. I think halfway through the first neck and they would have been thankfully killed themselves.

And needless to say, they would have never gotten anywhere near Obama.

They are dangerous demented idiots, but this wasn't like a viable plot. And, of course, the media will play it up to the hilt to shame anybody who opposes Obama.

/Thanks, Nazis, you really did everyone a service

Good job to the agents who got these guys.

Inevitably, this will get blamed on "the racism and hate so rampant on the Right," overtly by lefty bloggers, as Charles said, and perhaps more subtly by Team O campaign officials or network anchors.

I just want them to explain this to me, before they run and pin this on conservatives, or at least people who oppose Obama in general:

skinheads=neo-Nazis

Nazi=Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei=National Socialist German Workers' Party

Socialist=/=Conservative (in the modern, American, Joe the Plumber sense)

Seems pretty simple to me.

I dunno. We've had gun store burglaries here in Texas where the peps weren't caught, and the cops believe the guns were being sent to drug gangs in Mexico.

I read about the cheaper than dirt burglary. I don't know what Texas law requires but if someone uses a heavy vehicle to either breach the doors or pull the bars down, they probably will be long gone before the police get around to responding to the alarm. That's when a good armed alarm response company comes in handy.

re: #102 zombie

OT, from Hillbuzz:

# sarah p Says:

Ok, I want to clear my conscious a little. Hopefully you could make a blog post to help some fellow clinton supporters out.

I work for a campaign and can’t wait for this week to be over.

I was doing it for a job. I was not a fan of any candidate but over time grew to love HRC.

The internal campaign idea is to twist, distort, humiliate and finally dispirit you.

We pay people and organize people to go to all the online sites and “play the part of a clinton or mccain supporter who just switched our support for obama”

We do this to stifle your motivation and to destroy your confidence.

We did this the whole primary and it worked.

Sprinkle in mass vote confusion and it becomes bewildering. Most people lose patience and just give up on their support of a candidate and decide to just block out tv, news, websites, etc.

This surprisingly has had a huge suppressing movement and vote turnout issues.

Next, we infiltrate all the blogs and all the youtube videos and overwhelm the voting, the comments, etc. All to continue this appearance of overwhelming world support.

People makes posts to the effect that the world has “gone mad”

Thats the intention. To make you feel stressed and crazy and feel like the world is ending.

We have also had quite a hand in skewing many many polls, some we couldn’t control as much as we would have liked. But many we have spoiled over. Just enough to make real clear politics look scarey to a mccain supporter. Its worked, alough the goal was to appear 13-15 points ahead.

see, the results have been working. People tend to support a winner, go with the flow, become “sheeple”

The polls are roughly 3-5 points in favor of Barack. Thats due to our inflation of the polls and pulling in the sheeple.

Our donors, are the same people who finance the MSM. Their interests are tied, Barack then tends to come across as teflon. Nothing sticks. And trust, there were meetings with Fox news. The goal was to blunt them as much as possible. Watch Bill Oreilly he has become much more diplomatic and “fair and balanced” and soft. Its because he wants to retain the #1 spot on cable news and to do that he has to have access to the Obama campaign and we worked hard at stringing him a long and keeping him soft for an interview swap. It worked and now he is anticipating more access. So he is playing it still soft.

This is why nothing sticks.

The operation is massive, the goal is to paint a picture that is that of a winner, regardless of the results.

There is no true inauguration draft or true grant park construction going on. There will be a party, but we are boasting beyond the truth to make it seem like the election is wrapped up.

Our goal is to continue to make you lose your moral. We worked hard at persuasion and paying off and timing and playing the right political numbers to get key republican endorsements to make it seem even more like it was over and the world was coming to an end for you all.

There is a huge staff of people working around the clock, watching every site, blogs, etc. We flood these sites. We have had a goal to overwhelm.

The truth is here. I could go on and on, but you get the picture.

Continued in next post...

More from Hillbuzz:

I am saying this because I know HRC was better for the country, and now realize this. I was too late by the time I connected to her. To me Barack was just a cool young dude that seemed like a star. I didn’t know him or his policies, but now I understand more than I care to and I realize his interests are more for him, and the DNC and all working like puppets with dean. I always thought a president wanted the better good for the country. The end result I see is everyone dependent on the government, this means more and more people voting for the DNC. This means the future is forever altered. I don’t see this as america, so I am now supporting John Mccain.

Sarah Palin is a huge threat, and our campaign has feared her like you can’t imagine. If it seems unfair how she has been treated, well its because she has had a team working round the clock to make her look like a fool.

this is a big conspiracy and I am so shocked that its not realized.

We released a little blurb the other day that the Obama campaign was already working on reelection and now putting our efforts towards 2012. This was to make it seem like it was above us to continue caring about 2008. Trust me, its a lie. David is very smart, but its a sticky ugly not very truthful kind of intelligence.

Its not over yet, but I think the machine is working. And its a hill to climb.

I will be quitting my post on nov 5th and my vote will be for John Mccain. Fortunately, my position has been a marketing position and I don’t feel I had any part of anything I would feel guilty for. But I look forward to getting out of this as the negativity and environment upsets me.

I wish you all well, and goodluck.

PS my name is not really sarah. but I am a female and I understand your plight.

The right-wing blogosphere is alive right now with rumors that this is just a resurrection of the August story, recycled by the usual suspects to help Obama.

This foolishness apparently originates from Free Republic, where some nitwit posted pics of the August perps, with no link or explanation, and others quickly assumed they were the same as today's perps. This was helped along by the notorious inability of Freepers to post links. Again, THIS IS NOT THE SAME ALLEGED PLOT OR THE SAME PERPS.

Obama Versus Fox News (Part 534)
[Link: blogs.abcnews.com...]

While Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., has been waging war on the New York Times specifically and the larger Mainstream Media born in general, his rival Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., has his media boogieman as well.

Ever since Fox News’ answer to the Algonquin – Fox & Friends – spread the falsehood that Obama is a Muslim educated in a madrassa back in 2007, Obama and his campaign have had a complicated relationship with the “fair and balanced” cable news channel.

Over the Summer, Obama met with Fox News chieftain Roger Ailes and News Corps CEO Rupert Murdoch.

A truce, as it were.

Obama made appearances on Fox News Sunday in April and even agreed to an interview with Bill O’Reilly last month.

But lately the relationship has been showing evidence of strains.

Today, the Obama campaign criticized the new attack from McCain specifically by trying to discredit it through two of the media sources that first broke the news of the 2001 radio interview McCain is attacking.

"This is a fake news controversy drummed up by the all too common alliance of Fox News, the Drudge Report and John McCain, who apparently decided to close out his campaign with the same false, desperate attacks that have failed for months,” said Obama spox Bill Burton.
Obama campaign manager David Plouffe recently said that "Fox News Channel is turning themselves into the 24-hour ACORN channel."

In the third and final presidential debate, Obama said of McCain’s claim that Obama voted for a tax increase for people making $42,000 a year, “Even FOX News disputes it, and that doesn't happen very often when it comes to accusations about me. “

Earlier this month, Obama was quoted in Matt Bai's New York Times Magazine piece about Obama’s efforts to court working-class white voters saying, "I am convinced that if there were no Fox News, I might be two or three points higher in the polls. If I were watching Fox News, I wouldn't vote for me, right? Because the way I'm portrayed 24/7 is as a freak! I am the latte-sipping, New York Times-reading, Volvo-driving, no-gun-owning, effete, politically correct, arrogant liberal. Who wants somebody like that?

"I guess the point I'm making," he went on, "is that there is an entire industry now, an entire apparatus, designed to perpetuate this cultural schism, and it's powerful. People want to know that you're fighting for them, that you get them. And I actually think I do. But you know, if people are just seeing me in sound bites, they're not going to discover that. That's why I say that some of that may have to happen after the election, when they get to know you."

The thing that seems curious to me is that I would imagine that the USSS deals with many threats to both campaigns.

I may be wrong on this but I believe the current strategy is not to publicize it so as to not encourage copycats.

So why and how does this plot go public?

The internal campaign idea is to twist, distort, humiliate and finally dispirit you.

We pay people and organize people to go to all the online sites and “play the part of a clinton or mccain supporter who just switched our support for obama”

We do this to stifle your motivation and to destroy your confidence.

We did this the whole primary and it worked.

Well we knew it, but it still ticks me off to see it in print.

284 spudly  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 3:16:49pm

As others have pointed out, I don't think "Nazi" or "Neo-Nazi" refer to anything that the political "right" holds dear. They were first labeled "right" by Stalin as far as I know, but of course he'd label fellow travelers as "right" once he decided to bump them off. The current link (nazi=right) constantly seen in the press is intentional bias to paint any real conservative ("right") as closer to Hitler than someone who is not conservative.

It's BS. We should all make a point of labeling such idiots "socialists," "national socialists," etc.

Yes, I know that skinheads and neo-nazis are in fact not terribly political (on any possible spectrum) at all, and are just the low end of the IQ bell curve ;) None the less, this "right wing extremist" = "nazi" gets old

Senior federal officials tell NBC News that the Feds are skeptical about whether there ever was a well-conceived plan to attack Sen. Barack Obama by two alleged neo-Nazi extremists in Tennessee. The officials say that there is no evidence at this early stage of the investigation that the two men, Daniel Cowart and Paul Schlesselman, had ever taken the plan beyond the talking stage

that seems to be a better take on the issue

Another expansion of the truth (lie) like the "Kill" comment (which might have been "Drill") at the Palin rally which no other reporter heard or Secret Service agents heard and nothing on the videotapes! WTF? And the lying libs ran with it.

re: #284 spudly

I have always objected to this idea that Nazis of any stripe were "right wing". Hitler confiscated guns. Hitler hated Christians. Hitler stifled free speech. Hitler believed in concentrating all political power at the top. No American Conservative has ever been for any of these things. They believe in a government of, by, for - the people. They believe in a balance of power in the branches of government and the states, with individual rights including the right to keep and bear arms.

Furthermore- what kind of "Neo-Nazis" don't have guns already? I think there is bullshit in this story. And anyone who truly opposes his politics knows that the surest way to further his Marxist cause is to pull something like these people allegedly did, whether successful or not. The ideas he represents must be discredited. What happens to him is not relevant.

OT: For those of you that are adventurers in a financial sense, I offer the following information. I am not a financial expert of any kind but I have been invested into the stock market since the early 80's. I have earned a great deal of money in the market in the past. The present market volatility has produced some losses in my account as many of you can attest to but today's stock prices are at bargain basement prices.

During the 80's, a stock's P&E* @ < 20 was considered a "buy". During the "00's", a P&E of < 30 was considered a "buy". Today we are witnessing some major corporations with P&E's in the single digits. Stocks like:

ADM: (Archer Midlands Corporation) P&E=6.27
CAG: (Con Agra Foods, Inc.) P&E=8.7
SLF: (Sun Life Financial) P&E=5.39
WLP: (Wellpoint, Inc.) P&E=7.04 (formally Anthem BCBS)
GE: (General Electric Company) P&E=8.247

These are major corporations that are delivering valuable services and are sound financially. At this point, I hope you get my drift. It comes down to the old adage, "buy low and sell high".

*P&E - means Price/Earnings ratio. This is obtained by the price of the share of stock divided by the earnings of each share of stock. This value gives the investor an indicator of the company's performance. The lower the value, the better. To me, today's values signify a buyer's market.

I could be wrong, just ask my ex.

While I would never condone anything like this, the news services make it sound as though they uncovered an immediate threat to Obama, when in fact it was only in the planning stage, by a couple of real dumbasses who wouldn't get far with it. Can't anything be reported without trying to make it into something political?

The conspirators were 20 and 18. Naturally, that detail couldn't be in the initial press release.

re: #36 TheMatrix31

People are going to be like "Oh, look, skinheads! Narrow-minded disgusting people, just like the Conservatives! Surely there are other nutjob racist rednecks deep in the south that can do this type of thing!"

Trust me, I've encountered this line of thinking before, as ridiculous as it may be.

Haven't we all. It's name is Howard Dean.

325 Grandma  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 4:12:53pm

I may not agree with Obama’s policies. I don’t have any problems with him living as another human being. I could care less about his race, gender, religion, etc. What I don’t like is that there are those out there who would murder him, and others, because of their own hateful agenda. For crying out tears, in the hands of those folks, you and I could be next. And for what?

I know thats the truth. Colorado is nearly unrecognizable from 20 years ago. Moonbats stink up every place they stick. Colo. Springs is a serious moonbat haven these days. Sickening.

Well, I think Colorado Springs is relatively conservative. Boulder and Denver, on the other hand, have long been lefty strongholds. But idiot Californians are to blame for this state veering into the blue in recent years. After escaping from their old socialist tax-happy shit-holes, they feel irresistibly compelled to turn their new homes into the same thing. Truly they are a scourge.

327 DisgustingOratory  Mon, Oct 27, 2008 4:19:17pm

I remember that the "Trench Coat Mafia" that massacred the Columbine High School in Jefferson County, CO also had bigger plans after the massacre- their intent was to hijack airplanes and fly them into the World Trade Center. Most people don't believe me when I say that, but that's what I read in the paper shortly after the incident.

So yeah, the assasination part may have been far-fetched, but clearly they need to be locked up.

I also want to say that skinheads are most often the hate-America punk rock types that have nothing at all to do with conservative philosophy. The KKK has traditionally been Democrats. I don't know how they got lumped in on our side, unless it's just another leftist myth. Don't fall for it.

Dream of Californication, more like a nightmare. I've been saying that too, and I don't even live there, although I do like to visit the state. I am beginning to think in terms of a personal boycott however.

While there certainly are bargains out there, you must consider what future profits will be. We are looking at a lib-dominated government. Carbon taxes, capital gains and dividends tax increases, wealth redistribution, death taxes, trade barriers, increased unionization and whatever other worker's paradise programs they can dream up. One must factor in the effects of liberal agendas on profit numbers going forward.

As for myself, I got out with limited losses (about 10%). I've since been buying puts after large up runs and calls after large down runs. I think that the DOW will hang between 7500 and 9500 for at least another 6 months, with a bias towards the lower end (taking smaller long positions at the highs and larger short positions at the lows). It's been working great for me so far. I'll go back to buy and hold instead of trading when it looks as though the markets will get over their manic depressive stage.

Where in the world did you get the impression that Colorado Springs is a moonbat haven? It's still a military town with prominent Christian organizations.

Boulder is a serious moonbat haven, but it's been that way forever.

Although I've never lived in Colorado, I've got to Colorado Springs on business numerous times. It's definitely an American flag / support the troops place.

An enormous crowd gathered there for Sarah Palin soon after she was chosen as the VP nominee. They went wild for her.

Well, I am so pleased that a 527 is running Wright's anti-American video clip!

An adviser to the PAC said the ad will start airing Monday night in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida -- the three most-populous battleground states. The National Republican Trust is putting $2.5 million behind the ad, after soliciting donations online and through conservative groups, the adviser said.

For a fairly small city, a lot of people seem to go there at one time or another.

All those mountains right up against the city make it look like a picture postcard.

Colorado Springs actually covers more land than Denver,(if you don't count Denver's suburbs), but it's sparse and spread out.

re: #25 vagabond trader

Agree. The only damage is the subject being brought to the forefront of the MSM again. These racist zealots will be rekindling the ISSUES of racism and hate crimes.
Since there is no Nazism in the McCain party platform, I would think it would be a cheap shot at best, if the Obama campaign fell into the trap of using it as a McCain issue. But, they will use it as an agenda ISSUE.
This group and others like them are what makes racism such a dysfunctional
subject to address in the world.
These groups are over the top even in the world of radicals in their beliefs and philosophy.
Somehow, I think we will get more information in the next 48hrs about the
Nashville "Investigation".

re: #298 ploome hineni

Well. well.
This MSNBC rendition is a lot more skeptical in nature about the reality of the extensiveness of their planning and ability to a robbery, much less a hit on the O. It also says they met each other on the web a month ago.
This now sounds like a happenchance web find that was intercepted in the combing through of daily web traffic of communications when the ATF&E is searching for key words or phrases related to gang activity.
Again, I give it 48 hrs to percolate and I'm sure we'll hear more about the actual "Investigation facts".

My God, good that these assholes have been captured, frigging radicals fckn up the world.

However, they must have been equivalents of dumb and dumber. I have never heard of an assassination plot being so poorly prepared.

346 Forever  Tue, Oct 28, 2008 2:42:42am

Or maybe they have watched too many American Action Hollywood movies and they thought they are Rambo - robbing a gun-store firt and then a la natural born killers go along a nation wide killingspree.

Nah, I am sorry this whole plotting sounds too ridiculous, is it not an Obamania attempt to discredit the right - cuz although nazis are far from being right the general public and leftists see them as such anyway and it gives the whole right wing a bad name -.

347 Ilxixiixs  Tue, Oct 28, 2008 6:06:08am

What is bothering me most about this is how in the world the ATF found out about the plan between these 2 guys. I hope it was because they were shooting there mouths off in public or told someone with a brain who then reported them and not because their conversations were recorded by TSA, FBI, NSA or some other government agency.

I know, I know get out the tin-foil hats etc. but even though I would never talk about killing anyone, I don't want to think my personal conversations are being listened in on for any reason including "national security".

348 Land Shark  Tue, Oct 28, 2008 7:14:49am

Those two idiot skinheads apparently didn't get the memo. Many white supremacists want Obama to win because they think it would cause all kinds of strife and bring whites over the their point of view. While I agree Obama's election would be a disaster, I for one would never even consider joining those racist SOBs, and I believe most white people won't either. Besides, I'm married to a Jew so I have no doubt I'm one of the ones they would try to eliminate as soon as possible.

349 ck  Wed, Oct 29, 2008 3:51:53am

Oh my. Two guys wearing white top hats and tails during a suicidal assassination attempt? The would be assassins met on the Internet? Is it possible that these two guys were gay?

Not that there's anything wrong with that... unless it makes you insane to the point of thinking that a bloody killing spree sounds like a good idea.
