What Do American Islamists Think About Our Election?

US News | Tue, Oct 28, 2008 at 7:57:26 pm PDT

A revealing comment by the leader of the San Diego chapter of the Saudi-funded radical front group calling itself the “Muslim Student Association:” MSA Chapter Official: Don’t Vote; Destroy.

In the final days of the 2008 Presidential election season – with just 6 days now remaining until voters cast their ballots – both campaigns are carefully maneuvering to gain an edge, while still others are singularly focused on just “getting out the vote.” Regardless of the outcome desired by these activists, there seems to be one unified message across the American political spectrum these days: Participate in our democratic system.

However, one college’s Muslim student organization has sought to air a completely different message regarding the election: that of the Islamists.

A student named Farhad Akbari posted an essay on the internal Yahoo! Group of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) at San Diego Mesa College on October 14. In his post, “The Issue of Voting,” Akbari delves into the election, warning his fellow group members of the fate in store for those who cast a ballot for “a person who fights Islam, governs contrary to Islam, and is himself a kafir [infidel or unbeliever] ... ” Akbari does not reserve this treatment for any specific candidate. Rather, he holds both major party candidates in equal regard.

Continuing in his reproach of American democracy, Akbari writes:

“Whether you vote for the white kafir or the half-black kafir, they will kill our brothers and sisters. They will subjugate our brothers and sisters. And they will certainly support Israel in killing our brothers and sisters. There is no ”lesser of two evils“ here. They are both greater evils. The lesser evil is avoiding the situation, as both are equally poisonous to the cause of Islam ... Brothers and sisters, I have one thing to say: DON”T [sic] VOTE."

Good. It's not like they'd be voting for McCain anyway. Lots less votes for Dear Leader.

Maybe they could start a Terrorist party so they could go out and participate in the Democratic process!

Amazing- it's actually islam that subjugates muslims, that kills muslims, and violates the rights of individual muslims.

That being said- I frankly hope they take this advice and don't vote.

It's possible that this Akbari has some insight that others don't.
Yes, Obama rode a wave of media-generated anti-war hysteria to the nomination, and he has the support of the peace industry and various Palestinian terror-tools; but he is also a ruthless individual who has no compunction about attacking his own grandmother if it advances his quest for power.
Maybe Akbari realizes that Obama will kill them like ants if Muslims, not just Islamists, happen to get in his way.

/Come on, brother. I understand your position. I, too, was disappointed at first when McCain was the Republican nominee. I, too, think sometiems that this country would benefit by getting it's ass kicked for 4 years by an uber-liberal-- and may finally wake-up in the mid-terms and save itself.

However, consider what we are facing. A radical socialist gun is at our heads- one of a caliber we have never before seen in American politics. That gun is not a lone gun. .. we are also facing a far greater threat: A Democrat Super-majority that would force policy down our throats that could make the Carter Administration benign in comparison. Forget energy independence in our lifetimes. I understand you live in a Blue State, but my friend, not voting is a vote for Obama, blue state or not.

re: #36 mikalm

Well, I know that when occasional reader is cranky, it's usually because he hasn't had his Adriana Lima fix for the day. For Killgore, I'm not sure, but it may have something to do with pointing out that McCain provided a group including Rashid Khalidi with $500,000.

I happen to think that is a tidy sum and questions need to be asked of McCain about that, but it's still not the same as the close relationship cultured by Obama with Khalidi, Ayers, Dohrn, Wright and the motley crew of leftists and radicals. On the former (McCain), it appears to be an isolated incident, while Obama has spent years surrounding himself with these people.

It also raises questions about how academia manages to give the patina of respectability to anyone, including unabashed and unrepentant terrorists like Ayers, and terrorist sympathizers like Khalidi. Ayers and Dohrn were accepted by the Chicago political establishment despite their terrorist past, and Khalidi is just a less extreme form of how the academic world helps mainstream radicals at the nexus of politics and academics.

Well you are following your conscience and I can't really fault you for that. It's just that I have found over time that politics in this country is not about ideological purity as much as the mustering of power around a few loose guiding principals. I voted for plenty of Libertarian losers in my lifetime and I finally gave it up.

No one, and I mean no one, who runs for office will match all of the philosophical positions you may hold dear. Part of that has to do with the process of politics and governing itself which induces compromise and, therefore, ideological "impurity".

History has seen governments that insists on such purity and the results can be ghastly. I haven't given up on the libertarian ideal but I have begun to realize that its success is dependent on a fully realized and motivated population infatuated with their liberty -- something that is definitely not at hand presently and will take many decades of persuasion in order to achieve.

In the meantime I will vote.

Perhaps we have become so afraid of becoming politically and ethnically correct, that we are inviting groups that are no different in the ideology than the SDS and Ayers off spring groups, back in the 60's to contemplate the destruction of our WESTERN society principles? re: #73 Killgore Trout Stinks

No, but this is the first time I think neither ballot is even qualified to serve. It's a washout for me.

It is indeed not the lesser of two evils, but the evil of two lessers. Neither would be in my top 5, let alone top two candidates for the Office of President.

Both failed my interview process - getting demerits for one or more of the following: judgment and character via associations and repudiations, experience (or lack thereof), accomplishments (or lack thereof), respect for the Constitution, judicial philosophy, free speech, handling the financial crisis, protecting the nation from threats foreign and domestic, and whose tax policy was conducive to growth and entrepreneurship.

However, when I measure up both of these candidates, one does lead the other. And that person is McCain. He's not the perfect candidate. He's not even the right candidate for the right time. However, he's the better candidate between him and Obama, no matter how tingly Obama makes the legs of the media that swoon every time he opens his mouth or has a kleig light shine on him just so.

Do as you want killgore, but remember that you have to live with that decision, and if this is as close an election as I suspect it will be, you might find yourself regretting not having a say in the matter as a yea or nea to Obama's assumed coronation by the media.

In Smeared by Obama-hacks, Aaron Klein of WorldNetDaily points out that

The hysterical Berman is but a symptom of a malignant messianic infatuation with Obama evidenced by the drive-by media for whom Obama can do no wrong.

That was brought home to me earlier this month when I sent my Obama piece to a friend who happens to run the newsroom at one of America's top three television networks.

The friend conceded I had "important information," but admitted outright that "right now, we are treating Obama with kid gloves."

National Brewing's Malt Duck, a combination of beer, alcohol and an unfermented concentrate of red grape with twice the alcoholic content of ordinary beer. The brewers say only that, whatever the reason, a lot of young people seem to like sweeter drinks —and the manufacturers are trying to win those youngsters. "We are dealing with a Pepsi generation grown up," says Bud Allen, National Brewing's general sales manager.

Cold chisel + hammer.

Try to find a friend (that you're not too fond of) to hold the chisel. Chisel a flat side of the nut. You're going to bend the stud. Don't worry, it's fubared anyway.

A cold chisel is sometimes your best friend.

Any FBI agents from the San Diego office cruising in here? You might want to start checking out these "foreign" exchange students that we foolishly let in our country.

What irks me is that we waste resources to "watch" these people, rather than kicking them the fuck out.

Hey lawhawk!

Do as you want killgore, but remember that you have to live with that decision, and if this is as close an election as I suspect it will be, you might find yourself regretting not having a say in the matter as a yea or nea to Obama's assumed coronation by the media.

That is, of course true as far as it goes. However, it's not just Killgore who will have to live with his decision if this is a close election and the lesser of two evils loses. WE will have to live with that decision too.
If Killgore wanted to vote for Obama, that's ok - just one more vote to overcome; if he was willing to vote for McCain, that's one less vote we would need.
And the fact is that while the Electoral College will determine who the next POTOUS is, if Obama should win with a substantial majority of POPULAR VOTE, then there would be virtually no "brake" on his conduct as POTUS. If he won, for example, with less than a 2,000,000 lead in the popular vote, that would, I think, make him feel somewhat more hampered in dealing with the electorate in general than if Obama were to win by say 5,000,000 votes.
I mean, look how the 2006 elections turned out - lots of folks stayed home - many if not most to "teach the republicans a lesson" and two years later we find ourselves in the middle of a recession bordering on a depression.
And I'm sorry Killgore, but your refusal to vote could indeed impact negatively on people to whom you wish no harm

OK - suggestions needed. Jeep was making funny noise - tire problem - discovered that 3 lug nuts were completely sheered off, remaining two are stripped after rotating in bear hub assembly making the holes larger - now there is no way to get traction and get them off even with a pneumatic wrench.

We don't know what happened to cause this, but need to get those two lugg nuts off.

Ideas?

Actually, and I'm being serious now, they make a nut-splitter for just these occasions. Any reputable parts house will have them. Slip the round part over the nut with the chisel point on a flat part of the nut. Tighten the screw until the nut splits.

This didn't happen by chance. Someone has loosened those nuts, or your shop didn't tighten them up but simply finger-tightened them.

Well I don't know about everyone else, but if this guy is right about what Obama would do as POTUS, it's the best news I've heard in a long while.

I will never forget the Iraqi elections and how they shamed so many in America for the very dangerous journey of miles on end many of them walked just to cast a ballot. Something that many Americans would never do.

Democracy is a precious gift- paid for with the blood of American patriots both here and around the world. I'm thankful to the Iraqis for going to the lengths they did that our blood was not shed in vain. Sadly- there are too many in America that don't respect the blood spent by generations of our fathers (and mothers) that they would waste the opportunity to assert the right that blood paid for.

I told him I was happy he was not registered and we had a nice conversation on the issues. He was open and curious. While we were talking a 21 year old girl, a friend of his, came up. When she heard our conversation, she immediately jumped in with 'Sarah Palin is a Slut!'. I invited her out of the conversation immediately, as of course Sarah might be a lot of things to people, but a slut is not even in the ball park.

Zogby's numbers will be available tomorrow and they won't change from when he posts them tonight!

I know. I know. I just took THREE tylenol PMs. At some point, they'll kick in. Hopefully, though, I can get my poll fix before the night is gone.

Its just so fascinating. A big Obama night is coming off and his rolling average should shoot up, a nice way to end the day.

Honestly, I prefer the majority of Americans NOT vote.

Carter actually was fairly conservative in his fiscal policies. He favored cutting income tax rates and slowing the growth of government spending. The leftwing Democrats, led by Teddy Kennedy, opposed him.
(In fact, they almost succeeded in unseating Carter as Dem nominee in 1980 in favor of Teddy.)
In foreign policy, Carter was always an incompetent moonbat.

I decided that poll watching is not doing my nerves any good. My theory is they are whacked.I can't take the up of one poll and the down of another. My gut reaction is McCain wins. Obama would not still be fighting in some of these States if he wasn't afraid he is losing them. And his infomercial. Would a Candidate who the MSM says has already won be doing A half hour spot on nearly all channels? I don't think so. McCain /Palin are campaigning like they know they will win. I'm going to believe they are.

My brother who was an Obama supporter at the onset, saying things like "We're not the police of the world", etc. I always presumed that it was due to his SF-moonbat (ex?) girlfriend. He has been noticeably quiet over the last couple of months. Tonight, my Mom asked if he's registered to vote. He said "no". My mom asked him "Why not?"

He said, "I mean, if I'm gonna vote....I'd be voting for McCain, and in CA it doesn't even matter."

Do not let the polls consume you.

Surveys are my bread and butter and i know that they are all meaningless save for that one that is counted and tallied in the wee hours of the first Tuesday of November.

All the rest are drivel and trash. Many of them, if not most of them are guesswork based on assumptions and hopes.

Not worth the worry.

Better to sip a pleasant oolong with a generous dollop of honey then to fret over the overnights.

Sometimes, it is better for both the soul and the body to pause for a moment and count the blessing that have been given to you.

They are enough.

They are good.

We live in the world for but a fleeting moment of time.

We make the best with what we are given and with what we can make.

It is enough.

Count your blessings, the big and the small, and even the ephemeral.

Life is good.

Smile.

it is enough.

Interesting.

I know quite a lot of muslims in America. Most of them don't like America; some deeply detest it (which makes you wonder what the hell they live here for); a very small number love America.
However, the set of emails described in the article suggest that there are rather significant numbers of muslims in America who hate it deeply.

Well, well.

Wonder when we're going to see our first domestic example of Islamic Terrorism?

Yes, I know - there have been various attacks around the country. But nothing organized, nothing that caused large numbers of casualties - still just the isolated nutcase (such as the Afghan in California's Bay Area who went on a rampage running people over) or the wannabe badasses playing with guns (like the complete asstards in NJ who are currently on trial.)

But when will the first actual domestic jihadist cell go into action?

The only thing dumber than "I voted for Obama" is "I didn't like the choices, so I didn't vote!".

The word "idiot" comes from the Greek term for someone who doesn't vote. They understood the concept thousands of year ago. Farhad Akbari has proven that he is an idiot.

Good. It's not like they'd be voting for McCain anyway. Lots less votes for Dear Leader.

OT, speaking of Dear Leader, AKA lil Kim Jong Il, he is in serious condition in a NORK hospital. Seems he used the same outfit for hair plugs that Biden did and a serious scalp infection has set in. Once the scabs fall off he'll look like he has a terminal case of mange.

This can only be a good thing. The ones most idealogically close to this guy are likely Obama voters anyway. Take his advice, please.
