Yeah, Vietnam, unlike popular belief is still a communist country with all of the typical propagandist behavior.
If they are going to second guess McCain they might as well throw in Stockdale, Day, and the rest of the POWs. I guess "The Bug" was just a conspiracy theory created to pass the time.
It does fit in with a liberal mentality however and the lunatic left well eat this up. They might even use it in their future revisionist history lessons.

It's 3 a.m. and the Prime Minister of Israel is Calling
Israel now is surrounded by tens of thousands of missiles, provided by Iran to Syria, Hezbollah and Hamas. Syria is known to have the largest chemical weapons stockpile in the Middle East, and both Syria and Iran are known to be developing nuclear capabilities. Among the likely scenarios for the next crisis is a massive surprise attack on Israel, possibly involving unconventional weapons. In choosing a President, supporters of Israel need to ask themselves who they most trust to answer the phone at the White House in the middle of the night when the Prime Minister of Israel calls.

To pick up where Vet left off on McCain's winning margin estimates:
7 pnts from Bradley Effect, 3 pnts for pollster bias = McCain Landslide. – Vet_Missing_parts (1LT, Ret) #6
See: Vet's prediction on the general vote
I would agree.
Here is my thinking by election day:
6 pts from Bradley Effect, 2 pts for the under-count of the military/military community vote, 3 for the pollster bias and the infamous “margin of error” bias, minus 1 point for “early exit polls shows Obama wins so don’t bother to vote on election day" trick and minus 1 for actually ACORN fraud. That is 9 pts for McCain ahead in popular vote.
But, at the electoral vote level, I say is about 271 to 275 (it takes 270 to win) for McCain's probable win.
To recap the importance of the military vote:
This adds to my theory of the Military vote being the key variable [from comment on post in Iowahawk thread].
[Post in Americanthinker]
I'm a defense contractor at Ft. Bragg NC for the annual Special Operations Exposition and watched MY 82nd Airborne Choir sign [sing] at the opening ceremony this morning. You wonder, what does that have to do with the election? I'll tell you, if the rest of America heard what I heard from MY SOLDIERS (I'm retired Army and still serving!) you would not even question who to vote for, an honorably retired Naval officer or someone who has never even been in the boy scouts! You choose America and let me tell you...
See American thinker comments: Posted by: Spacelink Oct 28, 07:29 PM
Or see: Signs Pointing To A McCain Victory and click comments at bottom of page
[The military vote factor post]
With the military votes proper allocated to a battle ground state, say PA, I think McCain would win.
Here are some back of the envelope numbers:
Active military personnel 1.44 million
Reserve military personnel 0.848 million
Total 2.28 million
Military Dependents: .938 million
Those alone could swing the election.
[Military Times Poll]
Percent: McCain / Obama
Overall 68 23
Army 68 23
Navy 69 24
Air Force 67 24
Marines 75 18
Retirees 72 20
White Non-Hispanic 76 17
Hispanic 63 27
Black/African-American 12 79
Enlisted 67 24
Officers 70 22
See: Military Times poll
See: Military Times PDF file
Estimated number of Estimated Numbers of U.S. Veterans in Civil Life
6,231 (in thousands)
Then you can add in the Military Contractors of all strips and their families.
To what extent do the “polls” reflect of this? It is unknown. But, I would guess they under-count military personnel.
It is very possible that McCain will win the election.

I would imagine total destruction of a nuclear state as a goal would not be in the best interests of any collection of nations. Exactly. Makes you wonder what he's really hiding. Lot of stuff out there that we know about, so it makes me wonder if there's something that he doesn't want anyone to know about.
/for example he's only smoke and mirrors, especially for the left.
All I've read is speculation that his drug use is the reason why he will not release his medical records because they would show some problem related to his drug use. And you're correct- His whole campaign has been smoke and mirrors. He's hiding something.

Obscure reference: Richard Garriot, the American who just returned from outer space, used to hold a mean Halloween night party every year at his place every year, a modern castle in Austin. One year, a disturbed individual returned after two days to complete whatever surreal journey Richard had set up, thinking it was a real quest for some treasure or something. Richard held him at bay with an Uzi until the cops arrived.
They gave him "permission" (over the phone) to shoot if he felt threatened.

Searching on Eve Rosahn found this interesting post:
oh my god - ayers… the bombings… I think he was there. I think Obama may have been there.Eve Rosahn - her car was the get away car - the car was registered to her. She and Obama were friends at Columbia. Eve’s mom was Sonya Staff (THE Sonya Staff).
From Dreams From My Father (the father we now believe to be Frank Marshall Davis) and other sources we know that Obama was interested in South Africa divestment in the early 80’s.
At Occidental College Obama gave a well-received speech to kick off an anti-apartheid demonstration. He maintained anti-apartheid interest while at Columbia.
A major focal point of the anti-apartheid movement in the fall of 1981 was the Springboks rugby tour - they were an integrated South African rugby team on a “goodwill” tour of the US, creating controversy and drawing protests everywhere. Some of the protests were violent, including one at John F. Kennedy Airport and bombs were exploded.
The Weather Underground was involved with the Brinks robbery which left two police officers and a security guard dead. The Black Liberation Army was linked to bombings as well. The Brinks robbery was undertaken in order to finance the Springboks bombings.
Here is Eve (owned one of the get away cars) in her own words:
Eve S. Rosahn, Personal Narrative
Submitted via email, April 25, 2000
In 1970 I was part of a NYC organization called the December 4th Movement (D4M), which was organizing support for the New York Panther 21 (ultimately acquitted after a lengthy trial charging them with conspiracy etc.) D4M was focused on forcing specific institutions in NYC to offer bail or other monetary support as reparations for the exploitation of Black people. I was at Columbia University (the District Attorney prosecuting the Panther 21 — Frank Hogan — was a Columbia trustee), and Columbia had gotten an injunction against any type of demonstrations on campus — which we, of course, broke immediately. On May 5, a number of us were in court, having been arrested for contempt of court for breaking the injunction. I can remember that the CU attorneys, from a giant corporate firm, walked into court expecting we would all get a serious fine and some jail time.
The judge could only shake his head and say “they’re killing our children,” as he let us off with $100 fines!
there’s more… this is just the tip of the iceberg

For the most part I think it's still a toss up given the numbers. Zogby has Obama ahead by 2% which is at the same point it had Kerry ahead by 2% in 2004.
Now is not the time to exhibit cynicism in the election.

• It won't matter if he raises capital gains taxes, because nobody will have capital gains anyway.

Freepers
When we first met, Obama and I had a nice conversation about speeches and writing, and at the end of the meeting I handed him a pocket-sized bottle of Grey Poupon mustard so he wouldn’t have to ask staff if it was okay to put it on his hamburger. At the bottom of the bottle was the logo for “The South Beach Diet” and he snapped, “Oh so you read People magazine.” He seemed to think that I was commenting on his bathing suit picture.I helped with his announcement speech and others. I worked in the Senate when he was in D.C. One day after a hearing on Darfur, we were walking back to the office. I was still hobbling from a very bad ankle injury and in a very kind and gentle way he offered his arm when we approached the stairs. But later in debate preps and phone conversations and meetings, I realized that I had made a mistake. I didn’t belong. No matter how hard I tried, my heart wasn’t in it anymore.

I would not be surprised if that is target #1.
On the opposite side, Pakistani nukes are low yield, North Korea has trouble even launching missiles and Iran fakes most of their intel, so I don't think it would come by missile; probably fighter, container, boat or trucked in.

A summation:
[Link: www.thedailybeast.com...]
I was dead wrong about the surge and thought it would be a disaster. Senator John McCain led when many of us were ready to quit. Yet we march on as if nothing has changed, wedded to an old plan, and that too is a long way from the Democratic Party.
I can no longer justify what this party has done and can’t dismiss the treatment of women and working people as just part of the new kind of politics. It’s wrong and someone has to say that. And also say that the Democratic Party’s talking points—that Senator John McCain is just four more years of the same and that he’s President Bush—are now just hooker lines that fit a very effective and perhaps wave-winning political argument…doesn’t mean they’re true. After all, he is the only one who’s worked in a bipartisan way on big challenges.
Before I cast my vote, I will correct my party affiliation and change it to No Party or Independent. Then, in the spirit of election 2008, I’ll get a manicure, pedicure, and my hair done. Might as well look pretty when I am unemployed in a city swimming with “D’s.”Whatever inspiration I had in Chapel Hill two years ago is gone. When people say how excited they are about this election, I can now say, “Maybe for you. But I lost my home.”

I don't see a lot of Obama stickers except in => LA.
I see more McCain stickers than Obama stickers south of the 91 and west of the 605. That would be some parts of LA County, all of Orange County, Riverside County and San Bernardino County, and San Diego County.
Just my observation.
I got to get back to work.
I was just reading an observation from someone in the upper west side of New York (this was most likely on Hillbuzz somewhere). They mention that this is well-known as a democrat stronghold. The person remembers Gore signs everywhere during the 2000 election, and even more Kerry signs and buttons at every turn during the 2004 election.
The person writing this up goes on to note that he has seen relatively few 0bama signs and buttons around his neighborhood.

Yikes! 50/41 for McCain? Would that it were true. There would have to have been a complete meltdown of the polling industry for this to be true. Various lizards have cited some evidence for this, but we shall see.
One thing I do know: If McCain pulls it out in spite of polls and media hostility, moonbat heads will explode all over the world. Riots in certain areas are a certainty, and the long-term consequences would include a major boost for the conspiracy industry.
Could our media and academic elites be this wrong? I think they are and, in defense of that position, we can find many examples of the supposed intelligentsia of a country being completely, outrageously wrong. In the late 19th century, for example, academic elites in the west believed that material progress had eliminated the threat of large-scale war among the industrialized nations. At the same time, very few elitists, in the press or academia either one, questioned the prevailing racist and sexist assumptions of the time. In fact, academics in several fields were the driving force behind racism in many ways, at one point developing a kind of pseudo-science of not just racial, but national characteristics. The former is discredited everywhere, but the latter persists all over the world in the elitist-driven hatred of the United States and its culture and people.

I agree that riots will be prevalent. See Watts and the OJ stuff to get an idea, IMHO. I think his polling is likely more accurate: getting others from outside Dem strongholds like Manhattan, Seattle, etc. It would also explain, as the HCF poster said, why Obama is making Al Gore's head explode crossing the country in the jet. Why would he need to be in PA at all at this point?

I'm used to standing alone in my opinions, as a pro-American capitalist in Amsterdam, as a Bush supporter in New York and now here as a frustrated Giuliani/Palin/McCain supporter trying to inject some realism and sense of urgency.
I don't know your background. But you need to think back to an accomplishment in your past that was out of reach, that you were successful at attaining.
Something just out of grasp to the point of failure - and reeled in.
Have faith.
That's what we do here.
(in our own special ways)

I'm not going by the poll numbers, but by what I know about education in the last four decades, how the media works, how urban 20/30-somethings think, what's going on in Europe, etc.
Not sure if you're aware of this, but WE ARE NOT EUROPE!
We are the United States of America, and we follow no other country in determining what is best for us.
Even if it is the "wisdom" of the media.

Why indeed? Penn's in play and the polls don't mean squat.

my latest evil tactic for dealing with Obamatrons.....
i live in an upscale part of the Valley, but i usually look like someone drug me through the hedge, because i just don't care and i'm a lazy baastid.
when i encounter one of the herd, via bumpersticker, shirt or button, i just go up and ask them for whatever spare cash they have, since it's obvious that they have more than i do, and their leader wants to redistribute things so that everything is fair........ if they're in the car and i'm driving my beater truck, i ask them if we can trade, since it's obvious that i deserve something better.
the looks i get are priceless, and more than one has gone into a spluttering rage, which only gets worse when i point out that this is only the stated policy of the guy they support. i then walk away laughing at them. %-)

Way back when I used to be an Air Traffic Controller at Jacksonville enroute center. When we got an SR-71 for the 5 or 6 blips going across our screen, we always tried to get them to tell us their altitude. At the time it was classified. So... we would state "Aspen 20, say altitude." Like clock work their response was always the same. "Jax Center we are well above all visible traffic." Then two blips later they were gone.
Thanks for the Memories!

re: #324 rancher
SR-71, A-10, and F-22. Is this a great country or what?
In his book, Sled Driver, SR-71 Blackbird pilot Brian Shul writes: "I'll always remember a certain radio exchange that occurred one day as Walt (my backseater) and I were screaming across Southern California, 13 miles high. We were monitoring various radio transmissions from other aircraft as we entered Los Angeles airspace. Though they didn't really control us, they did monitor our movement across their scope. I heard a Cessna ask for a readout of its groundspeed."
"90 knots" Center replied.
"Moments later, a Twin Beech required the same."
"120 knots," Center answered.
"We weren't the only ones proud of our groundspeed that day as almost instantly an F-18 smugly transmitted, 'Ah, Center, Dusty 52 requests groundspeed readout.'
"There was a slight pause, then the response, 525 knots on the ground, Dusty".
"Another silent pause. As I was thinking to myself how ripe a situation this was, I heard a familiar click of a radio transmission coming from my backseater. It was at that precise moment I realized Walt and I had become a real crew, for we were both thinking in unison." "Center, Aspen 20, you got a groundspeed readout for us?"
There was a longer than normal pause.... "Aspen, I show 1,742 knots"
"No further inquiries were heard on that frequency"
In another famous SR-71 story, Los Angeles Center reported receiving a request for clearance to FL 60 (60,000ft).
The incredulous controller, with some disdain in his voice, asked, "How do you plan to get up to 60,000 feet?"
"The pilot (obviously a sled driver), responded, "We don't plan to go up to it, we plan to go down to it."
He was cleared...

I have a FaceBook page where I kep in touch with friends and former students.
Obama's "redistribution of wealth" may be the tipping point among college kids.
One of them has just given another a McCain/Palin "button" with the note, "Because I don't want to be poor."

Is this election going to the courts after the vote, this time with Republicans callenging for fraud in Ohio etc?
Okay, here's the thing: Even without the overload of knowledge that we here at LGF have garnered, I don't believe Obama passes "the smell test" with most Americans. If this was a "regular" election, McCain would win, and that would be that.
But it's obviously not. There are 3 unknowns that could effect the outcome:
1. The college kid vote
2. Election/registration fraud
3. How many people have been discouraged from voting for McCain by the Dewey camp and their media compliciots.
So, yes, it may be that close, and it may be litigated.

Fresno. No snow, but I remember highs being in the 40s and 50s and lows being in the 30s and 20s. Not brutally Canadian-cold, but I loved it nonetheless. At least there was wind, rain, hail, fog, frosts, freezes, etc.

There was a time when you had to own property to vote. In a way it made sense because property owners are vested, they have an interest in the outcomes of elections.
Ever since we began evaluating "social" outcomes it has gone downhill ever since, and now we are letting people claim cardboard boxes and park benches as addresses. I mean, c'mon, they have succombed so far to their own condition that they don't even have an address, but we'll let them vote. See, we're really an egalitarian country.

Actually they MAY be citizens.
Being homeless, is not a criteria to vote. Being a citizen of the US, and being of age 18 or higher is the criteria. Another criteria is being a resident of the precinct you live in. If were you live is on a park bench OK, provided you are a citizen and of age.

re: #458 MandyManners
Why would the original owner of that tape demand it never be released?
Good question. If you're a conspiracy buff, then one could say that Rove or someone, had the tape all along, decided to divide the country by propping up an unsuitable candidate for the Dems. A candidate who would divide the country and while everyone was having seizures over the election, he would pull the plug on the houseing markets, and the overnight bank rates, inject fear of bank to bank lending and thus start the colapse of the economy. This would cause further division amongst the citizens.
The Annointed One, would play off of said division, then SURPRISE! (it is October!) the quietly published article about the association would be brought to the fore again, only this time there is a tape. LAT won't release it, thus causing more gnashing of teeth and the macing of MAC workers by BO supporters.
Come election night, MAC wins and the BO supporters riot, leading CHIMPYBUSHHITLER to impose martial law and crown himself king.

showing Obama at a dinner with Rasheed Kalidi, the Palestinian Arab and the American terrorist Bill Ayres. The talk is anti-semitic and anti Israel. The L.A. Times has a copy of the complete tape and will not release it to Fox News, who only has excerpts from it. Benny Salami:

Another Obama Pal? Former PLO mouthpiece, "Professor" at Columbia, another anti-Jewish, anti-Israel Marxist. Obama spoke at a dinner in his honor and the tape will soon be released. That makes no sense whatsoever - if there was a demand not to release the tape, then surely there was a demand not
to report
on the tape, either.
If the LA Times' report on the tape included everything, then there is no reason to keep holding it. The only reason I can see to keep holding it is that there is something there that "the people" don't "need" to know, in the opinion of the LA Times.

In a word, No.
The "impartiality" of the MSM is now, officially, dead and buried. Along with their credibility.
I share your opinion of the Hillbuzz group. My guess is that a lot of the Dems around here have opinions similar to theirs, judging from the number of McCain/Palin signs I'm seeing in yards that had "Hillary '08" signs out during the primaries.

No way. You're saying Israel, if attacked, would annihilate other supposedly "muslim" countries for what reason? Retribution? Because they hate Israel or Jews?
You may find this presentation quite informative. Basically it estimates several conflict scenarios involving unconventional weapons. It also gives some estimates on the death toll in various nations as a result of those conflicts and what it means for the rest of the world. So yeah, you don't want to have Israel pushed into that situation. Not even close.

Meanwhile here in OH, ACORN's suit to get the franchise for criminals in three counties has been thrown out of the appeals court and sent back to the local courts in those counties, on grounds of lack of merit.
It was started when a voter in one county noticed that ACORN was running a GOTV op in the local juvenile detention facility, and filed in one court for a cease and desist order. Which of course begs the question of why ACORN was trying to register "voters" who haven't turned 18 yet in the first place.
If we know who won OH by the first of January I will be very surprised.

What Daddy's little girl wants Daddy's little girl gets.

Daddy also said Yes to a £16,000 wedding dress (which looked suspiciously like a crop top and skirt) and Yes to 150 guests at the reception. Then there were the cars, the hotels, the tiara and the £500 bouquet.

O'Reiley is an egotistical windbag. He tries so hard to look like he is right down the middle, even when he has to torture logic.
Every outrage or nefarious association about Obama that O'Reiley talks about, he sums up with something like, "I'm sure that the Senator does not approve of this."

G'day from Down Under to {everyone}
Looks like an Aussie invasion tonight - hello Aussies if you're still lurking
THIS photograph of elite Indonesian firing squadron members in target practice has provided the first chilling insights into the imminent execution of the Bali Bombers responsible for the murders of 88 Australians.
The evil trio - Amrozi, Mukhlas and Iman Samudr - will face a firing squad, possibly as soon as Saturday, after Indonesia's Attorney-General's office announced last week they would executed in early November.
and....
Mukhlas says: "The meaning of Jihad is war. There's no other meaning."And Samudra says: "Jihad is fighting against Kaffir people who fight against Islam. This fact is not negotiable."
Amrozi, always the least intellectual of the trio, says he's not an Ustad or Islamic preacher. "I'm no Ustad. But I do understand. It is to fight against enemies, it is very clear."
Mukhlas goes on to say that if people call them terrorists they are proud and it is blessing from Allah.
"There are honourable terrorists and there are damned terrorists. Damned terrorists are America. We, according to the Koran, are honourable terrorists ... we are proud because it is a title that is hard to get."
Goodness and I thought jihad meant finding your inner self etc etc!

He congratulates Khalidi for his work saying “Israel has no God-given right to occupy Palestine” plus there’s been “genocide against the Palestinian people by Israelis.”It would be really controversial if it got out. Looking at the poll distribution (as opposed to simple averaging) off RCP (counting the new Rasmussen +3 Dudge is talking about) you get:
1 +2
2 +3
2 +4
2 +4
2 +7
1 +8
1 +13
One of the +7's is the "BS" version of Gallup. Obviously, the +13 is crap.
The real "average" poll is around +4, not the +6.3 RCP gives.
/and of course that +4 is inflated for the usual reasons 1, so my best guess right now it is McCain +6. Not too shabby, now let's hit the polls.
1 +7 for Bradley, +3 for Dem over-sample

re: #582 scottishbuzzsaw
Mornin' Eon...have you read Jonah's column today?
[Link: article.nationalreview.com...]
Morning, Scottish. Thanks for the link.
Goldberg has discussed this before. And he's correct. Having studied Dewey's writings in school (a long time ago), I got in trouble with my (rabidly Marxist) Econ teacher for pointing out that Dewey's "philosophy", once shorn of verbiage, was based on an oxymoron. That being that only those who are subservient to an all-powerful government are truly free. He stated that that was true, because that was how socialism works.
My response was, "OK- then explain Nazi Germany, Stalin's purges, and Mao's Red Guards. "
Naturally, he resented my comparing the first of those to the last two. He also had no reasonable response, other than to accuse me of being deliberately "obstructionist". (WTH that means in the context- probably that I wasn't agreeing with him.)
We see an echo of this in the UFO believers, interestingly enough. In the past, I've mentioned how much of modern "progressive" philosophy was grafted on to the fundamentals of socialism from the "UFO contactee" cults of the post-WW 2 period. One of the grafts is the so-called "Prison Earth" theory. This states that the reason that ETs do not contact us openly is that Man is an inferior species, put on Earth by superior intelligences from elsewhere to avoid us contaminating the rest of the Universe. The bedrock assumption of this "theory", as quoted by Martin S. Kottmeyer in The Encyclopedia of Extraterrestrial Encounters, is that "We are ultimately beyond reasoning with and do not deserve to be free."
This neatly sums up the opinion the "progressives" have of the rest of us.
And I would point out that one of the more virulent "progressive" blogs is, of course, named Prison Planet. (I will not link to it.)
I would suggest that a study of both Dewey's writings, and the "UFO believer" movement from 1945 to the present, is indispensable in understanding the modern "progressive" mentality.
Because both conclude that only those who truly "believe" are suitable leaders for mankind.
/just IMHO
cheers

Apologies if this was discussed yesterday and I missed it.
Homeless allowed to use park benches as addresses to vote.
This is yet another way to commit voter fraud. What is to prevent a previously registered voter from obtaining an absentee ballot and voting, then 'pretending to be homeless' (most of the far left hippies are already pretty dirty and stinky) by skipping a week of bathing and shaving, donning old cloths and re registering under a street name with a bridge or park bench as an address?
I thought judges were supposed to uphold the law, not subvert it!
I am pushing 50 and have proudly voted since I have turned 18. I have no problem going to the office to register to vote, and appreciate being asked for photo ID to vote because I desire my vote to count for something and not be negated by even 1 ineligible vote. The Demoncrats (misspelled on purpose) are disenfranchising ALL LEGAL voters in America with their constant campaign of voter fraud. Heck, if their ideas are so loved by the majority of the country, they have no need to cheat and steal their way to office. The fact is, they KNOW that their Socialist agenda is not mainstream and must be force fed to US, and must get liberal judges to legislate from the bench because we sure as blazes would not vote for it.

The LA Times has unwittingly injected a positive feedback loop into its effort to get the Ø elected. The tape coverup is an atrocity against the electoral process, and the word is getting out. Good. However, for the Ø-LA Times axis to be willing to take the hit for the coverup, the tape must be especially damning. And if the tape is that damning, then the coverup is all the more unforgivable, dangerous and potentially disastrous. And for the coverup to be worth that amount of consequence, then the tape must be...you get the point. And the thing about positive feedback loops is that, in nature at least, there is no mechanism for decreasing the feedback without fundamentally changing the environment in which it occurs. Rate increases until a negative feedback loop is introduced, often resulting in the destruction of the system. The Ø system. Let's keep up the pressure.

If a purple guy can be charged with a hate crime for beating up a red guy, but the red guy does not get charged with a hate crime for beating up a purple guy, there is something wrong with the law. re: #336 redc1c4
That was great! Thanks for sharing

Is anyone following this 401k scheme that Congress is twiddling with?
Am I missing something, or could this be a very clever scheme to nationalize American corporations? Congress (unbound any longer by ethics) can write legislation any way they want, and under this scheme for us to cede our 401k's over for a song and a promise, the govt. could receive those 401k's in their present form, in effect cumulatively giving them an overwhelming majority vote in our nation's corporations, as well as in many of the world's corporations. We would be owned!
Probably another scheme to take our money and give some of it to slugs who have no retirement investments. HEY CONGRESS (who screwed up Fannie Mae) we can manage our own finances thank you!

Good morning folks,
I don't know if this has been posted already, but it's well worth a re-post:
However, I received a tip from a person who has provided useful, accurate and unique data from LA before (e.g., "All six of CNN's 'undecided voters' were Democratic operatives"). Take it for what it's worth, but I believe this person is on target.
Saw a clip from the tape. Reason we can't release it is because statements Obama said to rile audience up during toast. He congratulates Khalidi for his work saying "Israel has no God-given right to occupy Palestine" plus there's been "genocide against the Palestinian people by Israelis."
It would be really controversial if it got out. That's why they will not even let a transcript get out.
Let's put that upfront, shall we Barry?
"Israel has no God-given right to occupy Palestine"
there's been "genocide against the Palestinian people by Israelis."
- Barrack Hussein Obama,
Democratic candidate for President of the United States of America.
Now consider Joe Biden's slip last week, that the Obama will be tested and that his reaction will not be immediately perceived as correct. Could that mean Obama is ready to sell out America's staunch friend & ally, Israel?

From American Thinker this morning, a good account of how blogs are having an effect. Pray that this is being multiplied in thousands of lives across the country, people who otherwise would have voted for BHO.
October 29, 2008
The Greatest Compliment
Randall Hoven
There is a person very close to me who I thought would vote for Barack Obama. She votes in Missouri, a state that is important in this election. She once asked, "What's so bad about communism?" She used the word "corporate" as an epithet, with the same attitude that Karl Marx might use "bourgeois." She was totally against our military action in Iraq and thought Bush none too bright. We had political arguments where I lost my cool.
Today she said this in an email: "I also read some of your articles from American Thinker and feel better about voting for McCain."
You don't know how glad I was to hear that. Not because I want McCain to win or because I helped persuade anyone, but because I learned someone could be persuaded, and for the right reasons. There is a lot of good stuff in the American Thinker, but I've had fears that we exist largely in a conservative echo chamber. If truth will out, it must first get out.
Yes, words matter. Our words matter. We need to keep making the case - using truth and avoiding rudeness and condescension. Someone persuadable might just be listening. The battle of ideas never stops and we can never give up. Never give up.

I do agree he should be more aggressive in his attacks, or have Palin do that. McCain has called for the LA Times to release the tape. If he can ad a few sentences about that tape to a speech on national security, becuse the two issues are related, then he will make an excellent point. Not theat the media will cover it accurately...

Psalm 37:7-9
Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret, it leads only to evildoing.
For evildoers will be cut off,
But those who wait for the LORD, they will inherit the land.

More on BHO's redistribution and the federal courts from the Wall Street Journal.
Speaking in July 2007 at a conference of Planned Parenthood, he said: "[W]e need somebody who's got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it's like to be a young teenage mom. The empathy to understand what it's like to be poor, or African-American, or gay, or disabled, or old. And that's the criteria by which I'm going to be selecting my judges."
On this view, plaintiffs should usually win against defendants in civil cases; criminals in cases against the police; consumers, employees and stockholders in suits brought against corporations; and citizens in suits brought against the government. Empathy, not justice, ought to be the mission of the federal courts, and the redistribution of wealth should be their mantra.
In a Sept. 6, 2001, interview with Chicago Public Radio station WBEZ-FM, Mr. Obama noted that the Supreme Court under Chief Justice Earl Warren "never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society," and "to that extent as radical as I think people tried to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn't that radical."
He also noted that the Court "didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, at least as it has been interpreted." That is to say, he noted that the U.S. Constitution as written is only a guarantee of negative liberties from government -- and not an entitlement to a right to welfare or economic justice.
This raises the question of whether Mr. Obama can in good faith take the presidential oath to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution" as he must do if he is to take office. Does Mr. Obama support the Constitution as it is written, or does he support amendments to guarantee welfare? Is his provision of a "tax cut" to millions of Americans who currently pay no taxes merely a foreshadowing of constitutional rights to welfare, health care, Social Security, vacation time and the redistribution of wealth?

Slightly airborne pig moment:
WaPo reporting that Obama campaign admits accepting untraceable donations
Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign is allowing donors to use largely untraceable prepaid credit cards that could potentially be used to evade limits on how much an individual is legally allowed to give or to mask a contributor's identity, campaign officials confirmed.Faced with a huge influx of donations over the Internet, the campaign has also chosen not to use basic security measures to prevent potentially illegal or anonymous contributions from flowing into its accounts, aides acknowledged. Instead, the campaign is scrutinizing its books for improper donations after the money has been deposited.
The Obama organization said its extensive review has ensured that the campaign has refunded any improper contributions, and noted that Federal Election Commission rules do not require front-end screening of donations.
In recent weeks, questionable contributions have created headaches for Obama's accounting team as it has tried to explain why campaign finance filings have included itemized donations from individuals using fake names, such as Es Esh or Doodad Pro. Those revelations prompted conservative bloggers to further test Obama's finance vetting by giving money using the kind of prepaid cards that can be bought at a drugstore and cannot be traced to a donor.

Dude (or Dudette) ... that spoof is not going to get the actual transcript released. However, if McCain begins and ends each speech over the next few days with something about the tape and the LA Times coverup, THAT may gain enough traction to get it released by the end of the week. And if it is released on Friday, the obama spinners may not have enough time to trick the public into believing it is not an issue.

Sigh, IF they can replace the HD, and Motherboard and install the restore CD and do the data transfer (all of which is covered under warranty, except for the data transfer) then I'm gonna have essentially a NEW computer.

She's great.
What a woman! I'm so proud of her!
Hey Mama, I know you've been working the phone banks. I'd like to do this from home. Can you explain what the script is and how easy it is to do ? Thx so much!

He needs some Ginko. The man cannot keep simple numbers straight in his head.

re: #751 doppelganglander
I'll post it here.
3 lb. lamb or beef, cut into cubes
2 T. vegetable oil
3 large onions, thinly sliced
4 large carrots, peeled and sliced
4 med. potatoes, peeled and cubed
3 med. parsnips peeled and cubed or sliced
salt and pepper to taste
1 T. fresh thyme
16 oz lamb, chicken or beef broth
8 to 12 oz. stout beer (I recommend Guinness)
1 bay leaf, optional (I use it)
Chopped parsley
water as needed
Preheat oven to 350. In a large dutch oven or casserole, brown the meat in oil. Remove. Layer half of the meat with onions, carrots, potatoes and parships in pot. Season with thyme, salt and pepper. Repeat with remaining meat, vegetables and seasoning. Add broth and stout do cover. Add bay lear.
Cover pot with a tight fitting lid. Cook 1 3/4 to 2 hours in oven until meat and potatos are fork tender. Check after 1 hour. Add extra broth or water, if necessary. Remove bay leaf, garnish with parsely. The stew should not be watery, the potatos will thicken it. Serves 6-8.
*do NOT allow the stew to come to a hard boil, you'll ruin it.
Here's my recipe for Irish brown bread to go with it... this recipe comes from Bray, County Wicklow and it's the real deal.
12 oz. whole wheat flour
4 oz. white flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 t. baking soda
1/2 oz wheat germ
1 oz. wheat bran
1 1/2 cup buttermilk
Sift the flours together with the salt and baking soad in a large mixing bowl. Stir in the wheat germ and bran. Mix in enough buttermilk to make soft dough. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured board and knead until mixture comes together smoothly, 3 to 4 times. Do NOT overknead, use a light hand. Place the dough on a greased baking sheet and form into a 6 - 8 inch round loaf flattened to about 1 1/2 in. thick. Bake at 425 until nicely browned, around 45 minutes. Remove from pan and turn out to cool.
Enjoy!
