For what it's worth, I believe it's more accurate to say the New York Sun did good work.

Normally I'm to slow a reader to get in on this, but the list is easy. People who are plotting the destruction of America.

How vague can they be?

This just gets better and better.

Interesting list there, good to have the date and place confirmed because that helps narrow the search.

7 ErislDysnomia  Wed, Oct 29, 2008 11:18:17am

Time to call the Mayor.

And time to get the thumb drive from the Fixer lady.

(CSI NY the other day)

8 thedopefishlives  Wed, Oct 29, 2008 11:18:23am

That's quite a guest list. I have to admit that I was surprised to see Chicago Mayor Richard Daley on that list, though I probably shouldn't have been. Obama is a product of the Daley political machine, after all.

Yeah, especially that guy, what's his name, oh yeah, Obama.

12 Cognito  Wed, Oct 29, 2008 11:19:29am

The worthwhile original story, from the New York Sun:

A big farewell dinner was held in their honor by AAAN with a commemorative book filled with testimonials from their friends and political allies. These included the left wing anti-war group Not In My Name, the Electronic Intifada, and the ex-Weatherman domestic terrorists Bernadine Dohrn and Bill Ayers. (There were also testimonials from then-state Senator Barack Obama and the mayor of Chicago.)

The message sent by Columbia University officials by this choice was that they were determined to honor the memory of Edward Said by continuing to have radical Palestinian activism on campus. That's what they now have in spades.

Fer what it's worth.

Here is a link to the New York Sun article from Feb 4, 2005 detailing the "Hate fest" attended by Barack Obama. His name appears about 11 paragraphs into the article.

Do you think that one of these guys attended the festivities or has access to the video tape? They sure had an awful lot of information about the event in any case.

But he did release it--to the LA Times.

It is the Times that is refusing to make it public.

Serious question, buzz. If Abunimah did release it to the LAT, what would be his motivation? If he's anti-Israel wouldn't this hurt those efforts? Why would take the chance of providing fodder for any Republican presidential candidate?

This one has me stumped.

They must bring the great and little satans down. Honor means nothing when it comes to their goals.

That name Odeh sounds familiar.

Of course, Obama went right to his favorite "I know you are, but what am I?" defense with the bit about McPain allegedly giving money to one of Khalidi's foundations. I imagine that any examination of that charge will find it to be false, or at least a distortion, per Obama SOP.

Obama: might have given a toast to a terrorist spokesman.
McCain: might have given money to a political group ostensibly dedicated to Middle East Peace.

"They're morally equivalent! McCain lies!"

Just a quick OT question.

Has it been noted by anyone yet Ms Helen Jones-Kelley, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services who was involved in requesting Joe the Plumbers records gave $200 too much to the Obama campaign?

Contributor Occupation Date Amount Recip ient
Jones-Kelley, Helen
Dayton,OH 45415 State of Ohio 7/31/08 $2,300 Obama, Barack (D)
Jones-Kelley, Helen
Dayton,OH 45415 State of Ohio 7/31/08 $200 Obama, Barack (D

According to FEC: $2,300 per election to a Federal candidate or the candidate's campaign committee.2 Notice that the limit applies separately to each election. Primaries, runoffs and general elections are considered separate elections.

OT with apologies 'cause I'm spitting mad

Just saw bobble head Kara Phillips on CNN commenting on a recent GOP/McCain ad (I only saw a few fleeting moments of it).

saw the on screen text - 'trying to terrify' - and the very dark photo of Barry - the scowling, looking sideways and downward photo of the One we have all recently seen - and as the item faded to a commercial, Phillips in that smarmy, know it all, folksy we are all on the same side here nudge, nudge, wink, wink, is heard saying,

" not too subtle eh?"

As yet another aside, just wondering how big is the Clothing and Hair Allowance that Phillips (and all the other idiots) receive from CNN?

Has it been noted by anyone yet Ms Helen Jones-Kelley, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services who was involved in requesting Joe the Plumbers records gave $200 too much to the Obama campaign?

Jones-Kelley, Helen

What makes this woman a distinguished "poet?" NOTHING. Artistically, this poem would be 3rd rate for a high school student.

By calling her an "artist" and a "poet," people can legitimize her and spread her work around on the grounds that they are promoting "art."
And no one can be held accountable for applauding her, because it's not necessarily the message, you see, it's the artistry.

The degradation of Western art, the contempt for traditional standards in something like poetry, may seem trivial to many. It is not.

Palin at a rally today:

"This associate, Rashid Khalidi, he -- in addition being a political ally of Barack Obama -- is a former spokesperson for Palestinian Liberation Organization," Palin continued, brushing aside Khalidi's denial that he was ever a PLO spokesman. "The twist here is there's a videotape of a party for this person. A celebration of him. Barack was there. Some very derogatory things were said there of Israel and America's support for that great nation. Among other things, Israel was described there as the perpetrator of terrorism rather than the victim. What we don't know is how Barack Obama responded to these slurs on a country that he professes to support, and the reason we don't know is the newspaper that has this tape, the Los Angeles Times, refuses to release it."

Then, the Alaska governor openly mocked the L.A. Times as pandering to Obama (the paper has said it cannot release the tape because it received it from a source on condition that it not be published and intends to honor that commitment).

"It must be nice for a candidate to have major news organizations looking out for their best interests like that," she said, as the audience cheered her on. "Politicians would love to have a pet newspaper of their very own. In this case we have a newspaper willing to throw aside even the public's right to know in order to protect a candidate that its own editorial board has endorsed. If there's a Pulitzer prize category, for excellence in kowtowing, the L.A. Times wins."

This morning I wanted to send the site to a friend of mine, pulled up the merch site and found that all the red stars had been removed, removed from the front page. In any case, someone is using the commie red star on Obama goods. Little bit scary.

I'd post it again but people are getting pissed at me. You'll have to look for yourself.

I've looked into the claim that the International Republican Institute gave a grant to a Rashid Khalidi front group and it does appear to be true.

However, there's a very serious difference between that and Obama's association with Khalidi. Obama was a friend of Khalidi, had dinner at Khalidi's house many times, and attended parties with Khalidi that were full of radicals of every stripe. The relationship was a close, personal one, and it would have been impossible for Obama not to know about Khalidi's past with the PLO or his radical anti-Israel views.

The McCain relationship to this case is much more distant. He served as chairman of a foundation that gave grants to many organizations, among them one of Khalidi's.

It is not.

That was my line of thinking!

You can slap random dribbles of paint on a canvas and call yourself an artist, too. There are always fools ready to believe something has value because their betters tell them it does. See also Clothes, Emperor's New.

OT (from an email sent to me)~

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08″ tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference–just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need–the homeless guy outside.

The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more.

The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient needed the money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.

No. It's the one story building on the south side of the street. Look at it in "street view". You can see the sign that says "Burbank Manor". It's a small place, with about 85 parking places. I've been past there several times in the past.

not sure why you are getting hammered by saying that. As a matter of fact, very often, the NY Sun was indeed way ahead of everyone else on these kinds of stories.

If they were still publishing, I bet they'd be doing more than the MSM all put together in this regard...

The NYSun started reporting on Khalidi at least as early as 2004 and they were relentless in keeping the buzz going about him - his ties to Edward Said's position at Columbia and the money from KSA to Columbia, etc.

And I still don't understand why the NYSun didn't continue publishing until at least November 4th. I mean, their backers wouldn't keep them going for another 36 days or so when so much is at stake? Such a pity.

Ok my prediction: If BHO wins next Tuesday, look for the Israelis to make a strike on the Iranian nuke sites before the inauguration. They won't get much intel or logistical support after.

After January 20th, USAF/USN would probably be ordered to stop any Israeli attempt to bomb the Iranian nuclear facilities. Maybe even to the point of shooting down IAF aircraft.

Mayor of Chicago Richard Daley's name has come up before in regards to this event. My guess is that he has a lot to lose (everything?) should this tape be publicly broadcast. The LATimes seems real sure that they don't need to release the tape, and their reasoning points more to political pressure (a Chicago specialty) Rather Dthan journalistic ethics.

The delivery of this tape to the LATimes months ago, before BHO won the nomination, points to someone wanting to embarass someone powerful, perhaps Daley, possibly by someone who attended the event. Who?

Obama? This tape might have been leverage, used to force Daley to play ball, and maybe get others to help undercut Hillary!. Now that the MSM have covered Obama in Teflon, and in fact simply refuse to report negative things about Obama, Obama is unlikely to be hurt by the tape.

How’s Hizzhonor’s e-mail working these days?

More verified names from the guest list would help.

The tape itself should tell.

Actually, the whole issue with this tape as well as the Wright and Ayers controversies, etc, does touch upon the issues of racism and prejudice in the US! Obama's perception of racism and prejudice.

Let me explain: Obama associated with radicals because it was expedient, and because he thought America was too racist to ever elect a black man for President within his lifetime. If he had thought differently, he might have stayed away from these characters. Ah, the irony!

Agreed. Which is why we should know who wrote his recommendations and whether he had a source of support other than student loans, savings, or part-time jobs.

Expect that a large donation to Harvard greased the skids for his admission. And while he was president of the law review, nobody seems to remember him as a student (like at Columbia). Read somewhere that he graduated magna cum laude. But nobody remembers him? The man that never was? He was an undistinguished student everywhere he went prior to Harvard Law. I wonder if his presence and his transcript are artifacts that were computer generated.

OK, someome please clarify for me...

LA Times says that they won't release the video becuase they don't want to betray the confindetiality of their source.

Q: In what way will releasing a video infringe upon the confindentiality of the source?

I don't know about you guys, but I couldn't give fly'n rip about who shot the video. I don't care if it was one of the busboys. That's not the issue. This is not the same as some reporter being strong-armed to reveal their source (like in the Scooter Libby debacle). The source is irrelevant!

Overly O-motional
Karol Collymore

I have Obama election anxiety. I think about him winning - or losing - all day long. I watch TV news with heightened stress and pray there is no October surprise. I fret while listening to the multi-cultural NPR shows that thoughtfully debate and discuss the impact of race, age and gender on voting. I worry about Election Day celebrations and hope that we can all keep our heads, no matter the outcome. But there is a whole other section to my Obama anxiety; my ridiculously emotional reaction to everything Obama.

I cry when I hear the swelling of his voice at the climax of his speeches. I cry when I see pictures of him and his wife on Huffington Post. I cry when I hear Stevie Wonder. I want to throw my arms around people wearing Obama clothes. I cried today because my friend Raul who works for Obama is next to him in a new, very sweet video about a stellar volunteer:

That Charles is amazing. I wanted to be married for 69 years and now it's too late! UGH! More tears! I'm already a basketcase and now, this: Yes we can hold babies, a blog with pictures of Obama and children from around the country. Check it out, especially the little African American boys who simply look up, smiling and in awe of this man running for president. I am O-motional for them, too. Where are my tissues?!?

What's scary is what someone like this will be willing to do if The Marxist One wins.

re: #134 Junior

I cannot tell you how happy this makes me - God I love this woman!

Another cash reward has been offered for the Obama-Khalidi tape.

This time from a verifiably real person, if with an odd name himself, Newt Gingrich.

No, he just says somebody should offer $50K. He didn't offer himself.

re: #235 oh_dude

OK, someome please clarify for me...

LA Times says that they won't release the video becuase they don't want to betray the confindetiality of their source.

Q: In what way will releasing a video infringe upon the confindentiality of the source?

I don't know about you guys, but I couldn't give fly'n rip about who shot the video. I don't care if it was one of the busboys. That's not the issue. This is not the same as some reporter being strong-armed to reveal their source (like in the Scooter Libby debacle). The source is irrelevant!

Did I miss something here?

I think you have missed nothing. You are exactly correct. The source is irrelevant; no one has asked about the source, but a lot of people want to see the video, which we know exists because they've already said it exists and that they have it.

Basically, they came up with this "reason" for not releasing it because:
1. It sounds good - all high & mighty & "ethical" like.
2. They think people are too stupid to see through it.

I disagree. Obama associated with these people because he shares their views. If Obama was in fact the post-racial political moderate he pretends to be, his election would be assured, and in my opinion, not such a bad thing. The fact is Obama is a racialist & a leftist. He has been since his teen years. If voters actually knew the facts about Obama, he would never get elected. That's where the media connivance comes in.

Back at the beginning of the 20th Century, the aldermen of Chicago's First Ward, Hinky Dink Kenna and Bathhouse John Couglin used to hold the First Ward fundraising ball at the Chicago Coliseum, a venue built from a Confederate prison that had been dismantled and moved to South Wabash after the Civil War.

The First Ward was Chicago's red light district, and all the whorehouses were given blocks of tickets to sell, if they wanted to keep their protection. It was said of the First Ward Ball that if the building were to collapse, the entire criminal class of Chicago--whores, pimps, madams, pickpockets, thieves, etc.--would have been wiped out.

This guest list reminds me of that.

I don't know about that. Whores and madams are a much better class of people than those on the list.

UN urges US to lift embargo against Cuba

he vote Wednesday in the 192-member world body was 185 to 3, with 2 abstentions. The US, Israel and Palau voted "no" while Micronesia and the Marshall Islands abstained. (AP)

Well a great big thank-you to our good friend Israel and by the way I have said that the EU can go fuck itself yet today?

Personally I have always been curious as to why we still have an embargo against Cuba. Is it because we don't approve of Castro or the form of government? We have opened trade with communist China and communist Vietnam, among other countries. We trade with many countries whose policies or governments we don't agree with.

It seems the only reason we still have an embargo on Cuba is because of a voting block in southern Florida that wields a lot of power and wish the Batista regime were back in power.

End the embargo and let the Cubans buy, buy, buy and you will see restrictions in that country coming to an end. But, with their discovery of oil, I suspect that date is coming closer anyway.

I have no doubt he actually went to HLS, because there are contemporaneous accounts of him becoming the first black editor of the law review. There are no transcripts from any of the schools he attended. I strongly believe his performance at Columbia was so undistinguished, he could never have gotten into Harvard on his own. In fact, if you read Zombie's report, you discover that even Columbia has almost no record of him -- they don't even know if he turned in his senior thesis. Is there any proof he even graduated? A radical college like Columbia would have no problem sealing Obie's records and going along with the charade for the good of the cause.

re: #250 reine.de.tout

Thanx for making me realize that I have at least a little brains left :-)

If I put on my little Dectective cap (it's a nice old brown fedora, btw) I look at it this way...

What effects (harm) could potentially take place if said video were released?

1. It would reveal the source of the video. (False- and so who cares if it did?)
2. It could have a signifigant negative impact on the Obama campaign. (True)
3. It could have a negative business effect on the LA Times. (False- You make money and sell papers by reporting the news Genius)

So there you have it, the only thing my pea-sized brain can conclude is that the LA Times is covering for the Obama campaign. I know you guys came to this conclusion long ago, but alas I am not the brightest Lizard ever hatched.

OT
Is anyone watching the Obama TV special tonight? I am personally boycotting it. I already have a Netflix in hand, and pizza's on the menu. I'll be damned if I give him and his ill-gotten air time one second of my attention. I say we put a dent in his viewing numbers and make it a waste of dirty money.

I'm going out to dinner with my sis and then we're going to a lecture to expand our brains - as opposed to staying home, watching the Big Zero and getting brain rot.

The Times always lies about such things. Anyone remember the al-Marayati affair of nine years ago? I do. I investigated it, and concluded that the Times had rigged the stories in order to bullwhip the Jewish community into backing down. They didn't, and the campaign stopped.

The Times probably won't release the tape until after the election. Then, it will suddenly "receive permission" or whatever.

Mayor Daley was at this hate fest? Damn, "Senior" must be spinning in his grave right now. "Hizzoner Da Mayor" was a bastard, but at least he was a patriotic bastard.

As for the reported tape, the LAT is now officially f***ed. Can't give it up, but can't sit on it either. The longer the LAT stonewalls, the worse it looks. Not good if the LAT wants to be remembered with some honor before it finally goes under.

#306,

Rush actually mentioned today that O might be using NLP hypnotizing techniques. LOL I think its going to be on at the local pub I hang out on, and watching the crowd will be more interesting I have a feeling.

Don't know about that: I actually find His Majesty's voice incredibly irritating. It's not "soothing" at all--he seems to purse his lips in such a way that he "whistles" through his teeth. Damn, that sound could cut through steel. To me, His Majesty sounds a lot like Meredith Streep's character in "The Devil Wears Prada."

I'm telling you, if His Majesty wins, by this time next year people watching the (few) press conferences he holds are going to be so irritated by the sound of his voice, as well as his utterly vacuous blatherings, that sales of "TV Bricks" will hit the billion-dollar mark.

What about this from the NY Sun article:
"A big farewell dinner was held in their honor by AAAN with a commemorative book filled with testimonials from their friends and political allies. These included the left wing anti-war group Not In My Name, the Electronic Intifada, and the ex-Weatherman domestic terrorists Bernadine Dohrn and Bill Ayers. (There were also testimonials from then-state Senator Barack Obama and the mayor of Chicago.)"
It seems there is further confirmation of the Obama's attending this affair written by Obama's own hand. Who would have this commemorative book? AAAN or the Khalidi's? I think Obama has more to hide as we want to seek the truth. And, he knows it.

366 tackle  Wed, Oct 29, 2008 3:52:50pm

I have an extended family member who is more or less a socialist. Here’s the thing: they are all cut from the same anti-Israel cloth. Obama may or may not have sat silent during a reading of poem that contained anti-Israel content, but it is no different from probably hundreds of conversations he had with his mentors and associates that trash Jews and their so-called “disproportionate responses”.
If anything, Obama’s response was more subdued due to the public nature of the event.
He spent his entire adult life associating with Marxists and socialists and then declared himself a “friend of Israel” because it was politically advantageous. Surely there were dozens, if not hundreds of private conversations where they drank their coffees and trashed Israel. It’s hip and cool, didn’t you know?
Obama has been entrenched in anti-Israel sentiment his entire adult life. This video is only literally just a snippet of the larger, uglier truth.
