Another Disturbing Unreported Barack Obama Association: a Terrorist Fundraiser

Politics | Wed, Oct 29, 2008 at 12:32:47 pm PDT

Back in April, we reported on a page at the Barack Obama website belonging to a fundraiser named Hatem Elhady, former chairman of the Hamas-linked Islamic charity “Kindhearts.” One of the friends listed on Elhady’s page was none other than Michelle Obama, and we have the screenshots to prove it. When this page was exposed at LGF, the Obama campaign first erased Michelle Obama’s name from the page, then shortly afterward, the entire page disappeared.

I’m reposting these LGF articles below, because they got virtually no attention at the time.

***

Another big Barack Obama supporter: Hatem El-Hady, former chairman of the Toledo-based Islamic charity Kindhearts, closed by the US government in 2006 for terrorist fundraising: Terrorist Fundraisers for Obama.

El-Hady has now devoted himself to raising money for Barack Obama; he has a page at the official Obama campaign web site, with three “friends” listed on it: “Rick,” “Fatima from Toledo, Ohio,” and ... Michelle Obama.

Note: when someone is listed as a “friend,” it means they specifically chose it. In other words, Michelle Obama’s name isn’t there because El-Hady put it there — it’s there because she chose to be listed as his friend.

***

Curiouser and curiouser.

As we noted a few days ago, Hatem El-Hady, former chairman of the Toledo-based Islamic charity Kindhearts (closed by the US government in 2006 for terrorist fundraising), has now devoted himself to raising money for the Barack Obama campaign.

He has a web page at the official Obama campaign site. On Wednesday when we posted about El-Hady, there were three “friends” listed on his page, and one of them was none other than Barack Obama’s wife, Michelle Obama.

But this morning, there are suddenly only two friends listed on that page. Guess whose name disappeared?

There’s a lot of talk about William Ayers and his connections to Obama, but please note that in El-Hady we have someone who is apparently connected with Hamas—not decades ago, but as recently as 2006. Here’s our post at the time, including a press release from the Justice Department detailing the Hamas connections of El-Hady’s organization, Kindhearts for Charitable Human Development: ’Kind Hearts for Charitable Human Development’ = Hamas.

And now the Obama campaign has silently removed Michelle Obama’s name from El-Hady’s page, thinking no one would notice—and probably hoping against hope that the story won’t get picked up by the media. [And of course, it didn’t. – ed.]

UPDATE at 4/25/08 7:39:22 am:

And now, El-Hady’s entire page has disappeared:

Change!

Of course, the past does not matter.

These brave Union soldiers who died to free their black brothers and sisters do not matter.

I live in an area surrouded my cemeteries where Union soldiers are buried.
They were mostly with Sherman. They were farm boys, many who died young to force emancipation.
This does not impress Michelle, she views America as 'A mean country."

22 stevieray  Wed, Oct 29, 2008 12:43:20pm

Ah... its over. It was John Fund from the WSJ.

He was talking about the hundreds of Acorn front groups, and how Acorn has a internal program called "Throw them under the bus" [!?], where individuals and front groups are purged when they get caught in illegal voter registration.

Full story in tomorrow's WSJ

What's particularly amazing is how Obama manages to "innocently" get tied to nearly every radical activist in the United States. Honestly, I wouldn't know where to find these people if I had a sewer map and a flashlight, but they're all flocking to Obama like dogs on stink. How does he constantly manage to surround himself with such people? It's another Festivus miracle!

I thought this was funny, and something lizards would get a kick from as well.
A friend in Miami emailed it to me and said that her father (who speaks really poor English and needed a dictionary to make sure he was translating this correctly) came up with it. It was forwarded to me in the form of a bumper sticker. This man (and my friend) are TERRIFIED of the COMUNISTAAAAA!

Zombie's latest has audio tapes describing who Obama sought out as friends. It's Obama talking. Check it out.

How Critical Race Theory Molded Obama
by Mary Grabar

That intellectual thugs now rule the hallways of academe and threaten our civil liberties was perhaps nowhere more dramatically illustrated than in the Duke lacrosse rape case two years ago. The humanities professors who persecuted Duke lacrosse players had acquired their jobs through force — through protests and demands that began in the 1960s. By the 1980s, Duke University had succeeded in filling its ranks with professors of dubious credentials, but who fit the new gender, race, and left-wing ideological categories. These professors began their work in indoctrinating their charges towards a Marxist view by castigating such foundational notions as truth, universal rights, rule of law, and due process into a category of “patriarchal white hegemony.” As on campuses across the country, anyone who disagrees is kept out of the club of the tenured.

“Critical race theory” is one label for such an anti-Western notion of justice; its ideas seep into the humanities, including my field, English. Its promulgators, like Derrick Bell, insist that long-held beliefs that underpin our legal system be replaced by a “justice” that takes into account past and current racial discrimination — however subjectively determined it may be. In short, critical race theorists believe that standards of justice should vary from group to group and situation to situation.

...While at Harvard, Obama joined his professor, critical race theorist Derrick Bell, in mob pressures to hire a black female. Obama, during his richly remunerated stint as a part-time professor at the University of Chicago Law School, relied on his former professor’s writings, as his syllabus shows.

129 razorbacker  Wed, Oct 29, 2008 1:24:19pm

You may find this OT. I do not. From Glenn Reynold's joint.

Delaware State Police stopped Alvina Vansickle from purchasing a .22-caliber pistol for self-defense because she was too old and a woman, said Superintendent Col. Thomas MacLeish.

How'd that happen?

The outrage that followed led to the revelation that Delaware State Police had been keeping lists of gun buyers for years; state law requires them to destroy these records after 60 days...Some gun owners fear any government agency that tracks gun purchases or keeps lists of who has them. They worry these lists could someday aid in weapons confiscation, fall into the wrong hands and serve as a road map for burglars and thieves, or result in increased scrutiny by law enforcement.

"I was totally drop-jawed," Lawson said. "I asked him how far back the records went. He didn't know. He didn't care. He felt she was possibly a threat because of her age, a threat to herself or her family. That's what the implication was. He was concerned that never having bought a gun before, why would she want one now, at 81?"

Lawson served in the State Bureau of Identification as a lieutenant, which includes the firearms approval section and other specialty units. He knew the law. Nefosky's concern about Vansickle's age and sex, he said, should never have come into play.

Lawson also knew the gun records should have been destroyed.

MacLeish would not allow Nefosky to be interviewed.

In an interview with The News Journal, MacLeish claimed all paper firearms records are destroyed every 60 days.

The electronic records, however, are another story.

"Our review of our electronic records indicated we had a glitch in the system, back to August 2005," he said. "They have since been purged."

I've been asked how I can love my country, but fear, hate, and distrust my government.

Simple.

It's the result of over a half-century of observation.

Reminds me of Louisiana politician Cleo Fields, video-taped stuffing cash in his pockets during a meeting with ex-Gov Edwin Edwards in 1997.

Fields achieved considerable notoriety in 1997 when an FBI surveillance videotape showed him accepting a large amount of cash (about $20,000) from former Louisiana Governor Edwin W. Edwards (now in federal prison) and stuffing it in his pockets. Fields has stated that the incident was just an innocent business transaction between friends, and has refused further explanation regarding its details.

Not actually OT:

To me this upcoming election comes down to what direction the U.S. is going to go, and how we are going to place ourself in the world. Will we become a European satellite nation with a form of Socialism as our Government, or will we retain our pride-in-self, and continue to be the beacon on the hill, and self-relient Country of frontiersmen (and women).

In many respects, this core split is occuring in Israel as well (and has been for a while), and the good guys have been losing. One of the "good guys" (IMHO) is Avigdor Leiberman. In this exchange with the ruling party of Israel, he continues the fight to return to the self-reliant, and proud foundlings of the country...and the ruling party responds. 152 El Lizardo mejicano  Wed, Oct 29, 2008 1:38:16pm

More radical connections:

[Link: www.jpost.com...]

First, Obama's ties to Islamists:

The Khalid al-Mansour connection: According to former Manhattan Borough president Percy Sutton, Mansour "was raising money for" Obama's expenses at Harvard Law School. Mansour, a black American (né Don Warden), became adviser to Saudi prince Al-Walid bin Talal, CAIR's largest individual donor. Mansour holds standard Islamist views: He absolves the Islamist government in Sudan of sponsoring slavery, he denies a Jewish tie to Jerusalem and he wrote a booklet titled "Americans Beware! The Zionist Plot Against S. Arabia." (Both Obama and Mansour deny Sutton's account.)

The Kenny Gamble (also known as Luqman Abdul-Haqq) connection: Gamble, a once-prominent pop music producer, cut the ribbon to the Obama campaign headquarters housed in a South Philadelphia building he owns. Gamble is an Islamist who buys large swaths of real estate in Philadelphia to create a Muslim-only residential area. Also, as the self-styled "amir" of the United Muslim Movement, he has many links to Islamist organizations, including CAIR and the Muslim Alliance in North America. (MANA's "amir" is Siraj Wahhaj, an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.)

The Mazen Asbahi connection: The Obama campaign's first Muslim outreach coordinator resigned after it came to light that he had served on the board of a subsidiary of the Saudi-sponsored North American Islamic Trust, with Jamal Said, another unindicted co-conspirator in the 2007 Hamas funding trial. Asbahi has ties to CAIR's Chicago and Detroit offices, to the Islamic Society of North America, yet another unindicted co-conspirator in the Hamas funding trial, and to other Islamist organizations.

The Minha Husaini connection: The campaign's second Muslim outreach coordinator has an Islamist background, having served as an intern in the Muslim Public Service Network. Immediately upon her appointment by Obama, she met with a group of about 30 Muslims including such notorious figures as CAIR's Nihad Awad; the Muslim American Society's Mahdi Bray, who has publicly supported Hamas and Hizbullah; and Johari Abdul Malik of the Dar al-Hijrah Mosque in Falls Church, Virginia, who has advised American Muslims: "You can blow up bridges, but you cannot kill people who are innocent on their way to work."

SECOND, OBAMA's ties to the Nation of Islam:

Obama's long-time donor and ally Antoin "Tony" Rezko partnered for nearly three decades with Jabir Herbert Muhammad, a son of NoI leader Elijah Muhammad, and says he gave Jabir and his family "millions of dollars over the years." Rezko also served as executive director of the Muhammad Ali Foundation, a rogue organization that, without Ali's permission, exploited the name of this CAIR awardee.

Jeremiah Wright, Obama's esteemed pastor for 20 years, came out of a Nation background. Recently he accepted protection from an NoI security detail, and has praised Louis Farrakhan, the NoI's leader, as one of the "giants of the African American religious experience." Wright's church celebrated Farrakhan for his having "truly epitomized greatness."

Farrakhan himself endorsed Obama, calling him "the hope of the entire world," "one who can lift America from her fall," and even "the messiah."
That Obama's biography touches so frequently on such unsavory organizations as CAIR and the Nation of Islam should give pause. How many of politicians have a single tie to either group, much less seven of them?

Obama's Mansion, Saddam's Money

Barack Obama appears to have personally benefited from funds originating in Saddam Hussein's regime. It's a complicated connection, but one that deserves the consideration of Americans voters.

Two similar figures, Nadhmi Auchi and Antoin S. "Tony" Rezko, served as the intermediaries. Both are Middle Eastern males of Catholic Christian heritage who left Baathist dictatorships for Western cities (Auchi from Iraq to London, Rezko from Syria to Chicago). Both became successful businessmen who hobnobbed with politicians and promoted Arab interests. Both have been convicted of taking kickbacks and both stand accused of other shady dealings.

This past Friday we received some justice for Ripple in Small Claims Court. We won a $7500 judgment -- the maximum allowed in CA SCC -- for the vet bills. The defendant was, as we surmised, a ditzy young woman who had a very poor rationale for her case. That being that Ripple, being a mere mixed breed cat, was worth only $100. The judge, a tough 64 year old black guy named Taylor Calder, was not impressed, to say the least.

Now the question becomes what we'll have to do to get her to pay up. She says "she doesn't have any money."

Of course the money won't bring Ripple back but we feel vindicated.

I'd recommend that anyone who will be providing transportation to the polls for an elderly person bring some type of lawn or folding chair. I anticipate there'll be long lines/waits.
And I wonder if the marching orders for the 'bots telling them to take the day off include standing in lines even if they've already voted (6 times) just to make the wait longer and discourage other voters.

In his autobiography Big 0 explicitly said that he chose all of his friends from the most left wing zone of politics. So everything confirms that this is true, big f***ing surprise!
The problem is that this does not resonate with millions of voters the way it used to. I had a conversation with a retired colonel recently who was quite complacent about the looming Obama victory. His angle: We have no chance of going down the road of Venezuela, Weimar Germany, etc., because we never have yet.
My objection is, the reason that we never have is because of our past very healthy suspicion of marxist-socialist tendencies in our candidates. You can call it paranoid and exagerated, and it may be so; as long as that suspicion is strong, the chance of socialist takeover will remain small.
However, when even conservative voters are complacent, as my grizzled military friend is, then that is evidence that there is no more suspicion that the worst can happen, and that makes me afraid that it will.

OT - I know Charles says traffic has picked up in the last few days, but what I don't understand is, when I am able to get on LGF's, I see most of the regulars posting here.

Then, after a while, everything locks up, I can't get the site to refresh new comments, and I have to leave.

I come back a few hours later, get in, and everything is going on as normal.

It's almost like something upstream from me, but maybe not as far as Charles' servers, is slowing my access down.

I can hardly post, since that sometimes locks up too.

And one else connected with comcast and having problems. I rarely ever have problems with comcast. Is someone upstream purposly cutting time slices from requests going to LGF?

It wouldn't surprise me that some idiot working for one of the major pipes in the network, probably in the Ca. area, is causing this slowdown. It can be done if someone inside a company wanted to.

Emboldened LLL praises terrorist radicals.....
The New McCarthyism

This doesn’t sound much like the Rashid Khalidi I know. I’ve followed his career for many years, read his articles and books, listened to his presentations, and engaged him in discussions of politics, the arts, and history. In fact, as McCarthy’s piece ran, I was midway through an advance copy of Khalidi’s new book Sowing Crisis: The Cold War and American Dominance in the Middle East. (I’ll be reviewing it next month–stay tuned.) Rashid Khalidi is an American academic of extraordinary ability and sharp insights. He is also deeply committed to stemming violence in the Middle East, promoting a culture that embraces human rights as a fundamental notion, and building democratic societies. In a sense, Khalidi’s formula for solving the Middle East crisis has not been radically different from George W. Bush’s: both believe in American values and approaches. However, whereas Bush believes these values can be introduced in the wake of bombs and at the barrel of a gun, Khalidi disagrees. He sees education and civic activism as the path to success, and he argues that pervasive military interventionism has historically undermined the Middle East and will continue to do so. Khalidi has also been one of the most articulate critics of the PLO and the Palestinian Authority—calling them repeatedly on their anti-democratic tendencies and their betrayals of their own principles. Khalidi is also a Palestinian American. There is no doubt in my mind that it is solely that last fact that informs McCarthy’s ignorant and malicious rants.

McCarthy states that Khalidi “founded” the Arab American Action Network (AAAN). In fact, he neither founded it nor has anything to do with it. But AAAN is not, as McCarthy suggests, a political organization. It is a social-services organization, largely funded by the state of Illinois and private foundations, that provides support for English-language training, citizenship classes, after-school and summer programs for schoolchildren, women’s shelters, and child care among Chicago’s sizable Arab community (and for others on the city’s impoverished South Side). Does McCarthy consider this sort of civic activism objectionable? Since it was advocated aggressively by President Bush–this is “compassionate conservativism” in action–such an objection would be interesting. Nor was Khalidi ever a spokesman for the PLO, though that was reported in an erroneous column by the New York Times’s Tom Friedman in 1982. That left me curious about the final and most dramatic accusation laid at Khalidi’s doorstep: that the Khalidis babysat for the Obamas. Was it true? I put the question to Khalidi. “No, it is not true,” came the crisp reply. Somehow that was exactly the answer I expected.

Of course, Khalidi has been involved in Palestinian causes.

He also brings up McCain's contribution to Khalidi.

OT
This made me smile on a slow Wednesday afternoon:

“Okay,” announces the senior studio executive, “I just want to make sure that everyone in this room is voting for Obama.”
To the left of me a junior executive goes: “Well, sure, of course.”
To the right of me another executive nods his head up and down like a bobble and mutters: “We need Obama so badly.”
Let's be honest, folks: I can just grunt in the affirmative and be done with the whole wretched ambush.
“Robert?”
The studio exec is smiling, all charm and fuzzy-wuzzy, but his eyes betray confusion. I mean, Hollywood is in the tank for Obama, all except for a handful of out-of-the closet Republicans and even more who dare not voice their conservative beliefs for fear of being blacklisted. This is not paranoia, It's just the way it is for Hollywood Republicans swimming in an ocean of liberals.
“Earth to Robert?”
All eyes are on me. My colleagues are shifting uncomfortably in their super-comfy leather chairs.
Everyone in Hollywood takes it for granted that if you work in Hollywood you are a Democrat. Hollywood people, whose job it is to imagine stuff, find it hard, if not impossible, to imagine a Republican in their midst.
I feel like a Marrano, a secret Jew, unveiled before the Inquisition.
Time to man-up.
Sorta.
“Look, I don't talk politics. I'm here to make a movie.”
Seriously, the studio exec looks like he's just had a glimpse of the apocalypse and his head is about to explode.
He's like: “You are kidding, right?”
I'm totally absorbed in the incredibly complex task of closing my MacBook and shtupping it into my briefcase.
I glance up, all eyes on your faithful blogger.
G-d in heaven, I silently pray, puh-leeese let loose with an earthquake—not massive and corpse strewn, mind you—just awesome enough to send everyone scurrying for their lives and get me the heck out of this totalitarian canyon.
Is my prayer answered?
No, it is not.

He has been to Florida and Rush LIVES in Florida. Does that count? Because I cant think of any others.

At least when George McGovern ran in 1972, he had an honorable career behind him (WW 2 B-24 pilot). His diving turn to the left (which he has yet to pull out of) can be explained on the basis of a misunderstanding of the pitfalls of any socialistic system, not just the one he was part of taking out in 1942-45.

Senator Obama has no excuse. Other than his own lust for power.

Whatever happens next Tuesday, I have come to suspect that this will be the straw that breaks the camel's back in the Democratic Party. The mutual distrust and dislike between the Obamatron left and the centrist-to-conservative wing will, I predict, split the party as surely as slavery took apart the Democratic Republicans in the 1840s and 1850s, resulting in first the Whigs and then the present-day Republican Party.

I do not believe that the PUMAS are all going to become Republicans, but I don't believe they are going back to a DNC run by the likes of The One and his cronies, either. When he moved it to Chicago, I believe he broke the "historic coalition" between the center and the left in the party once and for all.

I look for a long fight over exactly who is the "real" Democratic Party. And judging by the news on Hillbuzz and similar sites, it may have already begun.

cheers

Michelle Obama opted-IN to being the "friend" of a terrorist fundraiser.

The Obama campaign opted-IN to disabling the security features on credit card donations, thereby allowing fraudulent donations.

The vital point to remember is that they had to go out of their way to do these things. No accidents.

An interesting thing about Michelle is that at Princeton she said she felt out of place as a black woman. How interesting that her present job is to convince blacks that they are out of place at U.C. Hospital facilities. They should use neighborhood clinics and leave the great research and teaching hospital to its higher callings.

OT:

Proof that all along, Obama’s been the real racist

This is what happens when a candidates goes off script.

Barack Obama, in Raleigh, N.C., was doing a riff attacking John McCain for supporting the idea of putting some mandatory retirement money into the stock market.

“If Senator McCain is elected, we’ll have another president who wants to privatize part of your Social Security. Could you imagine if you had your Social Security invested in the stock market these last two weeks, these last two months? You wouldn’t need Social Security. You’d be having a — like, what was it, Sanford and Son. `I’m coming Weezie!”

Memo to Sen. Obama:

Weezie was on The Jeffersons. Louise “Weezie” Jefferson — played by Isabel Sanford.

And it was Redd Foxx’s Fred G. Sanford who used to feign heart attacks to guilt trip his son, Lamont:

“Oh, this is the big one! You hear that, Elizabeth?! I’m coming to join you, honey!”

Funny how the mind works.

Or, to put it another way: “Whatchu talkin’ bout, Willis?”

If a white candidate did this, he’d be labeled RACIST! because the media would claim he thought all black people look alike — or they’d spin it that the white candidate was so out of touch with black culture that he or she couldn’t even get the actors in a black TV show straight.

Has anyone posted about the 0bama effigy hanged on the University of Kentucky's campus yet?

link

I go to school there, and apparently it was found in a tree near the parking garage I use most every day.

Not to pull a Murtha, but yes there are some moronic racist bastards who live in KY and go to school here (true everywhere, we don't have the monopoly, despite our stereotype), AND the campus has some Machiavellian leftists capable of doing this to gin up sympathy support.

I put my money on the latter, as most of the former are chickenshits and wouldn't risk getting caught.

I find it interesting that Obama is releasing his infomercial tonight...other than the fact he's banking on a large TV audience tuning into the World Series.
If I was his keeper *snort*, I would have televised it on Election Eve...not much chance for rebuttals. Let's hope for a big gaff so conservative blogs and radio can rip it apart for the next six days.

Personally, I'm pissed the WS will be delayed...makes you think about the timing of rain delay called by MLB.

Nasty and ugly. Thank heaven it was taken down immediately and the university apologized. I'd love to see the ones who did this get thrown out of school, too.

Say, how about that hanging Palin display? I hear a lot of nice people are chuckling over that.

All political sides have fringe kooks. The difference between the GOP and Dems is that the former denounce theirs and the latter either ignore, chuckle over, or applaud theirs.

"Hate 'em."
"British?"
"Hate 'em."
"Czech?"
"Hate 'em!"
"Danish?"

I will remind people that the late Molly Ivins was responsible for laying the groundwork for the "Bush is stoopid and eeeevil" mindset.

Back when Bush was governor of Texas, Ivins was ridiculing him as "Shrub," which was a popular dismissive epithet during the first campaign up through the invasion of Afghanistan, when it started to fall out of favor.

Voting controversies and court decisions aside, the people who'd worked themselves into a frenzy with "Shrub...snicker, snicker" just couldn't believe it when that...Shrub ended up as President of the United States.

One snotty columnist laid the foundation for BDS.

She was a bitch about pretty much everything.

Nothing was good enough for Molly Ivins.

A word of advise on the Mini. Only use Ruger factory magazines and .223 ammo. Do not use military spec 5.56mm in a Mini 14. The chamber is .223 and not throated for 5.56. The factory mags will help eliminate jamming potential and the .223 pressure cartridges will keep you and your weapon safe.

This sounds insufferable, but I took a mid-morning stroll down Savile Row last week to have a look at futures of a kind and fool myself with the image of bespoke English tailoring becoming popular. Right now, $3k for something by Anderson & Sheppard or Kilgour is certainly reasonable... in a certain stratum. It's sort of like looking at hand-made furniture.

Pre-industrial methods of production are incredibly expensive.

Unless you go to East Asia.

re: #193 Walter L. Newton

We recently received a notice from Comcast that they were switching to a new "network congestion management technique:. Here is part of the letter:
"As part of our ongoing efforts to continuously improve the quality of our service, we are switching to a new network congestion management technique by the end of the year. It is focused on managing network congestion only when and where it may occur. It will also replace the current technique and will help ensure that all of our customers receive their fair share of network resources.

What does this mean for you? Probably nothing. We ran five market trials of this technique over the summer and found that less than one percent of customers were affected. So, the vast majority of customers will not notice any change to their Internet experience as a result of this new technique. During the times of busiest network use (which could occur at any hour, depending on your neighborhood), those very few extraordinarily heavy users – who are doing things like conducting multiple and continuous large file transfers – may experience slightly longer response times for some online activities until the period of network congestion ends."
Perhaps you have some "heavy users" in your neighborhood.
