False words are not only evil in themselves, but they infect the soul with evil.

I know that all politicians lie, but I think Obama is about to break Nixon's record for most lies in a three-month period.

Hi Zombie, I just re-read your report on the NY Obama / Ayers ties and it seems very possible that you are correct. I have been in criminal investigations for the majority of my adult life and I have this really uneasy feeling the holes, specifically about BHO's time at Columbia, are either a cover to mask his deep involvement with Ayers / WUG or that he may not have actually gone to Columbia. This is only based upon my personal gut as I have not seen any evidence of his graduation from Columbia. If it has been made public I would tend to go more with the deep involvement with a group of very bad people. Thanks for all your hard work.

16 middlecon  Fri, Oct 31, 2008 10:40:23pm

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as "bad luck."

I think he actually did go to Columbia -- otherwise, the lie would be so easily disproved. But I think he also got deeply involved in some very far-left radical political scene which he wants to be permanently forgotten. (Off campus.) As to whether or not that included brushing up against the Weather Underground -- I simply still don't know.

Well, just my two cents - there are no coincidences. The nexus of the investigation is really, again in my opinion, the high degree of probability that the targeting of the South Africans from two dispartent groups was not coincidential. In a well conceived action there are generally two components, the action and the distraction. In this case the action, Weathermen and the distraction the anti-apartid rally. Not probably something that will ever be able to be uncovered unless someone talks.

The "missing time" from BHO at Columbia is to distance any involvement with the Weathermen or their actions. Again pure speculation on my part.

BTW, being in Dublin, did you by any chance get to the Walnut Creek lizard party on Oct. 26th? (I used to live in Danville, and later Walnut Creek, so I know the area well.)

I'm really disappointed I didn't know anything about it. I've had a lot of illness lately, and its only in the last few day's that I've been reading and posting again. Wish I'd know, I'd have been happy to meet the other lizards.

Zombie - the race is close - closer than most know.

Hey, I wrote the book on that -- I know it's close. Or that McCain may even have a slight edge. I just don't want anyone to ease up in the final days.

A big poll came out two days ago saying that Obama had a massive, incredible 22% lead in California. Over at the SF Chronicle, the moonbat commenters were howling in glee and ecstasy, doing a victory dance. Then, I posted this comment, and all their heads exploded en masse:

-------------

Wow, this poll is fantastic news for McCain. That's right -- I said McCain! The nationwide polls have the race getting pretty close -- McCain is now within 5% of Obama nationwide. And in a situation like that you want to lose the biggest states by huge margins -- which sucks up all the perceived polled support for the other candidate. Now it looks like that 5% of Americans who are the difference between Obama and McCain are actually all Californians -- which means the rest of the country is a dead heat. McCain was never going to win California. So the best thing to do is lose it by as big a margin as possible. Put it this way: Including California, Obama leads McCain by 5% nationwide. But granting Obama's victory in CA, in the other 49 states combined, they are tied! And perhaps McCain is even ahead a little bit! The way to win an election in an electoral college system is to lose big in the states you're going to lose, and then win by narrow margins in the states you win.

re: #69 Viking6

Well, just my two cents - there are no coincidences. The nexus of the investigation is really, again in my opinion, the high degree of probability that the targeting of the South Africans from two dispartent groups was not coincidential. In a well conceived action there are generally two components, the action and the distraction. In this case the action, Weathermen and the distraction the anti-apartid rally. Not probably something that will ever be able to be uncovered unless someone talks.

The "missing time" from BHO at Columbia is to distance any involvement with the Weathermen or their actions. Again pure speculation on my part.

My guess, is that BHO felt rather free to write as he wished while at Columbia. Therefore, one is not to go there.

Hard working Americans can pay trillions to learn solipsism from The One,
Or, we can issue dividends of respect, teaching tenacity alongside John McCain.

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.

Talent will not; nothing in the world is more common that unsuccessful men with talent.

Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.

Education alone will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

Anecdote from last weekend that may be a harbinger for Tuesday:

Stopped to see an old friend in Connecticut on the way to visit our kid at college. Old friend's demographic profile:
-Grew up in Wellesley, Mass.
-Attended Milton Academy
-B.A. in psychology, Yale
-Ph.D. in psychology, U Penn
-now a tenured psych professor at Columbia
-solid Democrat until she finally got turned off by Clinton's sleaziness
-voted for Nader in '04 because she thought Kerry was a fool, but couldn't pull the lever for a Republican
-she and her husband both actively Jewish
-husband a lawyer turned consultant who has made his money the last few years in real estate investment/management; hammered by the Fannie/Freddie etc. mess
-husband has always been more conservative on economic issues, but basically a middle of the road voter from a Democratic heritage

Surprise 1: McCain-Palin sticker on the back of husband's truck. In southwest Connecticut, mind you.
Surprise 2: Old friend's reaction to Obama: "You can't fool me with that phony, pseudo-intellectual diplomatic bullshit. You'll sell out Israel the firs chance you get."

One data point, I know, but it's a data point that says something interesting.

Does Massachusetts have early voting? Do you suppose she voted?

I really wouldn't make too much of this...she seems like sort of a sympathetic figure, in a way - but it would be interesting to know whether she cast an illegal vote, and who told her not to talk to anyone in the press until after 11/4.

In no way is she the story, just as Joe was not the story. The story, not that the MSM will report, is BHOs' bio is filled with crap-like concern for his "family". Just as he is concerned for every citizen in the U.S.. The idea that for the first time ever, you can vote for someone who really cares. Oh, well.

I made some use of that OpenSecrets.org donor list tonight, looking for my local zip codes. Mainly I was looking for the kook on the corner of Perkins & Arkansas who has a 3x9 foot "HOPE" sign on his porch facing the road. He's supposedly a photographer, dumbass has big glass sliding windows open to the road that practically scream "ROB ME", so he's not so bright and I'm not surprised by his electoral choice... I wondered if he was on the list. I did find one local dentist (who I will not be going to), and in the searches for my home zip back in MA, I found a number of names from my father's company. I'm going to look in my zip also, just to see if there are any businesses around here I should avoid.

The only bombshells will be on McCain and Palin. The fix is in.

I sincerely doubt it. McCain has been in politics for 30 years. Every detail of his life is known. Whatever they try to peddle, it will be old news, and no one will care.

He got divorced from his wife after returning from the torture chamber in Hanoi? Who cares. Old news.

He was peripherally involved in the Savings and Loan scandal nearly 20 years ago? Who cares. Old news.

His wife is a rich beer heiress? Who cares. Old news.

The Viet Cong made him say anything they wanted, by torturing him? Who cares. Old news.

He's had some health scares? Who cares. Old news.

I mean, what in the world could they dig up on John McCain that hasn't already been dug up a hundred times?

As for Palin -- the MSM is devoting half their resources to attacking her, and all they can come up with is trivial stuff -- her daughter isn't a virgin; she tried to fire a guy she was perfectly within her rights to fire; she's a social conservative; the GOP supplied her with designer clothes. And so on. Those are scandals? Forget it.

I, we, everyone, searched in vain for that big bombshell October Surprise which the MSM could not ignore -- but no one in the whole world could find it.

I've got what I consider a modest surprise -- novel and possibly compelling information for undecided voters.

However, it comes with a price. It will most likely cause unholy dread in the hearts of rational men. Just bear in mind that it's not really a surprise in the sense that it's information that's in the open, just not in places where American's are typically attuned to intelligence gathering; and it's certainly not publicized. Additionally, to bring information forward, it requires people are ready to handle cold hard truth like mature adults.

The problem is that non-mature adults may misinterpret the data and cause physical harm to others; especially as the data is ill-favored for The One.

So you are going to bust the Obama bombshell tease or leave it at that?

It's not a "bombshell". It's just a set of factual data that corroborates many fears. Fears which can certainly drive many undecided voters to vote against Obama.

His wife is a rich beer heiress? Who cares.

Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute.

McCain's wife is a rich beer heiress?

Why is America even bothering to have an election?

This all seems too easy. The next thing you'll be telling me is that Obama's wife isn't all that proud of America, until maybe recently, and she might be somewhat of a bitch.

Heaven forbid. What's next?

I suppose you'll tell me that the Republican candidate once lasted 5+ years in a Vietnamese prison camp, being tortured on a regular basis, and THAT'S why he can't raise his arms above his shoulders. Sure.

And then, I suppose you'll tell me that the Democrat's candidate has had a years-long relationship with radical leftists who worked murderously towards the US defeat in the same war in which the Republican's candidate was imprisoned for 5+ years.

Really, now. The only thing that could make this election all the more "stupider" is if you told me, the Democrat's candidate orated high regard for some terrorist mouthpiece - in front of those leftists, murderously dedicated to the US defeat in the same war in which the Republican's candidate was imprisoned for 5+ years - upon his move to say, some hotbed of anti-American, leftist bastion of higher education, perhaps, oh, I don't know... Columbia University?

And I suppose you're also going to tell me, that the Republican's candidate has been labeled as a "Maverick" for his 26 years of bucking the party line, but they have "only recently" started to portray him in a bad light.

Sure.

Yes, it is. However, as somebody from the Boston area whose taxes go in part to Boston via an arcane method known as the "Cherry Sheets" I personally am willing to cut an old woman some slack rather than be shipped back to that hellhole that Odinga has produced. It is possible to be compassionate towards her without being a socialist state. I think she needs to be held up as an icon of what 0bama represents. He lives in a mansion complements of Rezko who built slums in Chicago that are literally falling down and did not have heat. He earns a pile of money per year, but is not willing to aid his own family when they are in need. Contrast this with McCain whose wife shows up with a couple of kids from an orphanage in Bangladesh who need serious medical attention. He adopts one and one of his friends adopt another. Both kids are treated medically and are doing well today. The attitude of selfishness and selflessness could not me more contrasted than they are in the case of 0bama's family and McCain's family.

Using his best fake-Irish drogue, he quoted "For your president, you have to choose between a lawyer who's married to another lawyer, another lawyer who's married to yet another lawyer or a feckin' war-hero who's married to a feckin' brewery heiress. 'Muzzled' Biden's Halloween Present: A Press Avail
October 31, 2008 10:38 PM

Perhaps it was the near-empty diner that left Biden with no alternative than answering questions from the media. When Biden walked into Kewpee, a small burger joint in Lima, Ohio, just after concluding his rally in this northwestern Buckeye State town, the senator found more reporters than diners.

“Everybody’s trick-or-treating,” he noted on this Halloween night.

Standing beside a large white sign that read, “No Loitering, Begging, Solicitation at any time,” Biden quickly gladhanded with the few diners before addressing the swarm of reporters. He cautioned that the upcoming election will be “closer than everybody thinks it is,” expressed hope that his friendship with rival Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., was still “intact,” and said that no matter what happens on Tuesday, “this is a mindset-changing election.”

While the Biden regularly rips the McCain campaign's “scurrilous attacks” on Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., tonight he hoped that his friendship with the Republican nominee was still strong.

“I don't know, I hope it's intact,” Biden said of the lawmakers’ relationship. “John and I haven't had a chance to speak.”

Noting that McCain’s latest ad was “positive,” Biden said he hopes, “John ends this campaign with his strength.”

“One of the things I've admired about John, and I've considered him, why I've considered him a friend, he does, he never gives up,” Biden said. “But so, and I just hope when it's over, win or lose, you walk up and you shake hands and say, 'John, we've got a lot of work to do.'”

"When this is over, win or lose, John and I are likely to be around, in one form or another, in one job or another," Biden predicted. "And I hope, uh, my hope is we can work together. Because folks, it sounds corny, you cannot do this stuff unless you start to get a little purple here. You can't make these big decisions. I mean, you need, you need cooperation, no matter how."

But before any post-election pleasantries are exchanged, Obama and Biden still have to defeat McCain and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Nov. 4. That’s why, Biden said, the Democratic team is campaigning in such a wide array of states.

"We’re going everywhere: Montana, Arizona,” he said, to name a few. “I mean, we’re everywhere we can be because … this election is going to be a lot closer than everybody thinks it is."

"We feel good, we look good, but it’s not over yet,” he cautioned, noting that he is “a politician who has run scared every single election.”

“The fact of the matter is that I have, I have done relatively well in my own elections,” Biden said. “But I have never, never, before the polls close, said, ‘Man, this is in the bag.'”

The Delaware lawmaker expressed confidence in Democrats’ chances in Pennsylvania and Virginia, but concern about their options in Florida, North Carolina, Missouri and Ohio.

re: #302 eddiespaghetti

It sort of has in other ways.....mostly in the world of sports. I was in Tempe, Arizona 4 years ago when the Cardinals payed tribute to Pat Tillman in their home opener. Johnny Damon's redeemed himself as much as he possibly could while wearing a Yankees uniform by getting involved in the Wounded Warriors project and donating money and tickets. The Giants' Barry Zito started up a project called Strikeouts for Troops a few years back. The San Diego Chargers make it a point to have a meet & greet at Camp Pendleton each year while the Padres routinely host Marine recruits by the hundreds during Sunday home games (to the point where the Marine Corps Hymn plays on the stadium's PA system when they leave). I've heard of whole baseball teams visiting Walter Reed Medical center while in the area with little to no publicity....

But yes...a 10-minute block of time on national TV to honor fallen American soldiers would be decried as insipid and jingoistic by the people who's opinions somehow matter.

OCEANS TO KEEP RISING

The de-Jesusing of Obama is underway:

Barack Obama’s senior advisers have drawn up plans to lower expectations for his presidency if he wins next week’s election, amid concerns that many of his euphoric supporters are harboring unrealistic hopes of what he can achieve.

They’ve been told to “believe”. And now it’s their fault?

The sudden financial crisis and the prospect of a deep and painful recession have increased the urgency inside the Obama team to bring people down to earth, after a campaign in which his soaring rhetoric and promises of “hope” and “change” are now confronted with the reality of a stricken economy.

Or “reality”, as it is otherwise known.

One senior adviser told The Times that the first few weeks of the transition, immediately after the election, were critical, “so there’s not a vast mood swing from exhilaration and euphoria to despair.”

Good call; you don’t want this lady turning up at the White House asking for free gas. Which wise advisor realised that Obama’s “heal the planet” nonsense may have gone too far?

The aide said that Obama himself was the first to realize that expectations risked being inflated.

Oh.

Heard it a few hours ago and his explanation is sound but IMO ineffective...reason being that while our side will argue logically and in good faith, the left always argues in bad faith. They knew that the $400K charge was obfuscation but it doesn't matter to them as long as it blows smoke over the issue and the average, unengaged voter will call it a draw. I know I'm stating the obvious but to these bastards all that counts is winning......

Oh sure, I completely agree, it matters not what kind of rational explanations we may give, they are all powerless against the teflon kid. I'm just glad that there is a logical explanation, for my own peace of mind.

On September 21, 2006, Berkeley Premium Nutraceuticals, its owner and president, Steven Warshak, and five other individuals were indicted by the United States, Southern District of Ohio, U.S. Attorney Greg Lockhart, on charges of conspiracy, money laundering, and mail, wire and bank fraud. The indictment alleged that the company defrauded consumers and banks of US$100 million. The United States Food and Drug Administration, Internal Revenue Service, United States Postal Inspection Service and other agencies participated in the investigation. The federal fraud trial began on January 8, 2008.

In testimony during the trial, a former executive with Berkeley testified that the enhancements that the company claimed were given by use of Enzyte were fabricated, and the company defrauded customers by continuing to charge them for additional shipments of the supplement. He further testified that company employees were instructed to make it as difficult as possible for unhappy customers to receive refunds.

On February 22, 2008, Steven Warshak was found guilty of 93 counts of conspiracy, fraud and money laundering. On August 27, 2008 he was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Arthur Spiegel to 25 years in prison and ordered to pay $93,000 in fines. His company, Berkeley Premium Nutraceuticals, along with other defendants, was ordered to forfeit $500 million. His 75-year-old mother, Harriet Warshak, was sentenced to two years in prison.

No word whether it's a PMITA prison.

[snip] Three Islamist militants convicted over the Bali nightclub bombings that killed 202 people awaited execution Saturday as Indonesia stood guard against a feared extremist backlash.
Sensitive areas like foreign embassies, tourist spots, shopping malls and ports were under close guard. On the mainly Hindu resort island of Bali, 3,500 police were on the streets, officials said.
All executions in Indonesia are carried by firing squad, usually in the dead of night at undisclosed locations.

Another Idiot Teacher Alert: Vampire Drawing Gets Kid Called 'Gang Member'

Remember when you were a young school kid and you drew a vampire during the week of Halloween? Remember how the blood was always dripping down from his menacing, pearly white teeth? Remember how it was all in good Halloween fun? Well, you can just forget THAT mister, at least if you are a 5th-Grader in the Savannah-Chatham school system in Georgia. In Georgia, if you draw a vampire you get called a gang member -- even when you were assigned to make the drawing -- and then you get sent to "psychological evaluation" as if you are some mentally disturbed monster. Then they kick you out of school... for a Halloween drawing. Really.

The Savannah Morning News gives us the gruesome story of another touchy-feelie teacher gone stupid and another poor little kid lost in "zero-tolerance" hell this Halloween week.

When Jordan Hood was assigned the task of drawing a "scary Halloween mask," he innocently drew a scary vampire. His art teacher even helped him out with a few of the details. But then came home-room teacher Melissa Pevey (amusingly, even her name sounds pent up) who decided that, far from Halloween fun, little 5th-grader Jordan was obviously a violence prone, mentally disturbed, gang member. So in a harrowing Halloween experience that had no fun in it at all, Pevey had him paraded down to the principal's office where he was confronted by the police and assigned "psychological evaluation" as a punishment for his artistry.

Naturally, the school explained it all away and backed up this fool of a teacher. They said she was primed to "watch for gang signs" and that teacher Pevey thought that the blood drops looked like the sort of gang signs that the L.A. gang The Bloods use to denote their presence.

Needless to say, Jordan's Mother was not amused.

Jordan's mother, LaKisha Hood, was shocked to find that her son's art lesson had evolved into a gang investigation.

"They told me the droplets could actually be a gang symbol for the number of people he killed," she said.

OK, let's not underestimate the infiltration of gangs into our kid's lives. But, come on. When are these people going to use a little common sense? A nail file or set of clippers are NOT "deadly weapons." A kid having an aspirin is not the same as having "illegal drugs." A drawing of a gun is NOT evidence of a "mass murderer." And a crude drawing of a Halloween vampire is NOT proof of "gang activity!"

Now, this story is bad enough without the Associated Press misreporting it and making it almost sound plausible that this overwrought teacher was right to be worried.

The most important aspect of this story, the part that pretty much proves that the kid is the innocent victim of an overweening feminism in our schools, is the part where the vampire drawing was actually assigned to poor Jordan Hood by his art teacher. Yet, for some reason, the AP decided to exclude that salient point of the story.

Instead, the AP gives full hearing to the school system's absurd act of invoking gang worries in this case, it fully fleshes out the teacher's fears, yet never once mentions that this 5th-grader was assigned to draw the picture by another teacher.

Perhaps teacher Pevey might have legitimately had something to worry about if this kid was drawing these blood "tears" unbidden. But he wasn't. It was a class room assignment, one that his art teacher helped him with.

So, why did the AP exclude the one aspect of the story that tends to prove that the school acted stupidly here? Your guess is as good as mine. It looks to me like an editorial decision to side with the school's untenable position and not the kid's logical grievance.

AP: Obama aunt from Kenya living in US illegally

WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama's aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned.

Zeituni Onyango, 56, referred to as "Aunti Zeituni" in Obama's memoir, was instructed to leave the United States by a U.S. immigration judge who denied her asylum request, a person familiar with the matter told the AP late Friday. This person spoke on condition of anonymity because no one was authorized to discuss Onyango's case.

Think about this...

I read here yesterday that some of the pollsters were getting up to an 80% no-response rate. That's people who say "no, thank you", who hang up, or who - like me - don't even answer the phone.

If that is even close to being the truth, you can forget about looking at the weighting of Reps to Dems. None of that matters. The polls are essentially worthless.

Zombie, one thing you touched upon in your report is Obama’s Pakistani drug dealer. From your links this looks like a source of funding and possibly gun running.

[Riehlworldview]

"By 1980 at Occidental Obama ran partly with a circle of wealthy, drug using Pakistani friends. He traveled to Pakistan between Occidental and Columbia in 1981. That was during the Second Military Era (1977-1988) - Pakistan was under Sharia Law and not the most welcoming to foreign visitors, especially without some graft or connections."

See: Riehlworldview

Maybe Obama did not stop using cocaine and built up a habit and had to go into rehab.

Maybe Obama facilitated his expensive education with the help of drug money.

Or worse, maybe Obama facilitated the import of guns and explosives via his Pakistan drug friend.

Other than getting Obama medical records or his passport records, the only real way to find out is find this Paki drug guy and a get the information out of him.

From the Simpsons (Mr. Burns loses all his money, but Lisa helps him out, and hen he received a check for 12 million dollars, he offers Lisa 10%. When she turns it down, Homer has a heart attack):

Dr. Hibbert: "Mr. Simpson, that's the first time I've seen anyone survive 4 simultaneous heart attacks. Just get some bed rest, and you'll be OK."

Homer (to Lisa): "I'm sorry I had a heart attack, Lisa, but we really could've used that $12,000."

Lisa: "Ummm, dad, 10% of $12 million isn't $12,000. It's . . ."

(shot cuts to hospital hallway)

Hospital Announcer: "CODE BLUE! CODE BLUE!"

Funny. Years ago I had an ad agency. Collecting my fees from my clients - or trying to - took up a lot of my time. One client p*ssed me off in particular. I knew she had the money since SHE collected her consulting retainer up front. I called several times over a couple of weeks, and finally one day her secretary (knowing I was beyond annoyed) told me,

"I have your check! Can I fax it to you?"

i used to repo cars..... we had an debtor in Beverly Hills that got sideways, undoubtedly through a screw up, but the collector called.

customer went off, kid held the line. piss in a bottle, shit in the hat and the

we went out and & id'd all 3 vehicles, sitting right there in the d/way.

being of sound mind, and this being *the* upscale part of downtown Beverly Hills (yes, there are variations on the theme), we went over to city hall and talked to the desk Sargent so we could lay out our paper and credentials, and then told him we were going back.

we got all the vehicles........

.ZOGBY SATURDAY: Republican John McCain has pulled back within the margin of error... The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama 48% to 47% in Friday, one day, polling. He is beginning to cut into Obama's lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all...
