Obama apparently does not want to release the original because of some awkward language regarding his father's heritage. But the Obama's did not necessarily use the language, rather the person typing the form did.

The troofers'll be able to totally re-focus their energies on Obama. That will be the total bright side I would take out of an Obama win (which he won't).

There's an even deeper layer of idiocy to this: even if he were born outside the U.S., would we really want that to disqualify him? The Constitution should be amended to get rid of that requirement. It made some sense in the 18th Century (England had been in the recent past ruled by Scottish, Dutch and German dynasties), but there's no point to it now.

They did it outdoors, and asked volunteers to use their own cell phones to do it - thus the volunteers footed the bill for long-distance and used their own minutes to boot. I'm pretty sure they didn't get jelly donuts!

I went through the State Department lists of travel prohibited countries in 1981 and could not find Pakistan on the relatively short list. It might have been on the caution list, but that does not prohibit travel. And the caution lists are revised all the time. In 1981 the USA and Pakistan repaired their relationship.

No, we need that layer of protection to keep the oval office safe from foreign influence worse then Willies money from China.
There may be stuff on his birth certificate that would be uncomfortable, such as his father declaring him a Kenyan, but it would be immaterial if he is born in Hawaii. It would be fuel for internet geeks though.
Things to consider, Obama hgad an easy cheap option to shut down this rumor but chose not to use it (producing the birth certificate). Ask your self why. Obama is apparently a citizen of both Kenya and Indonesia, as well as America. America no longer requires the renunciation of foreign citizenship, a policy that appears to be having some totally foreseeable and unwelcome results.

Given the circumstances, it's my understanding that his Indonesian citizenship would have automatically canceled at age 21, leaving the US citizenship in place.

Even though having multiple wives was legal in Kenya in 1961, the same didn't apply here in the US. So, since Barack Sr. already had a wife back home, it's probable that a US court would rule that the February 1961 'marriage' between Barack Hussein Obama Sr. and Stanley Ann Dunham was invalid due to bigamy, which would have automatically made Junior a bona-fide US citizen, no matter where he was born. (Depending, of course, upon daddy Obama's Kenyan marriage being recognized in the US.)

But since Obama is a USA citizen both by virtue of his mother and being born in a State to an American mother, I doubt he ever renounced his Indonesian citizenship, because I doubt it ever came up in any context of his life other than to get a reported Passport from Indonesia based upon his adoption.
