Don't be fooled by this crap. Repost of tricks the Obamanauts will use to suppress Republican turnout:

(1) Calls for McCain to just give up and quit, because the race is over.
This one is a favorite of the trolls who lurk on pro-McCain sites. We get them here, despite all the spraying and fumigating we do, but notice how we ignore these trolls. We’ve identified two paid Obama staffers who have been assigned to HillBuzz. We picked them up around the same time people from Ace and LGF started picking up some of our stuff — so our guess is they were assigned to us by whoever was monitoring those sites. They’re different trolls than the ones assigned to us during the primaries (we only had one back then, so evidently we’ve gotten more on the radar now). One of them starts posting “her” concern troll remarks here at 8am. The other one starts “his” remarks around 5pm or so. It appears there are two shifts for the trolls — and from what we can see, they share the same computer and IP address. And it’s an address right here in Chicago.

(2) Wild claims of Obama winning states that shock and surprise you. If you do just ONE THING today, we ask you a personal favor: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go to as many Republican blogs as you can and WARN THEM that the Obamedia will tell you all weekend that Obama is winning Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Florida, Iowa, Virginia, West Virginia, and other states we do not believe Obama will win (except for Iowa, which we still think goes to Obama, but our best sources claim McCain now leads in internals by 1 point). They are already starting to say truly crazy things like “Obama will win Louisiana and Arkansas!”, and that’s just nuts.

(3) Repeated insistance that blacks and young people will decide this election, and they are all going to vote in record numbers for Obama.
We, thus, believe Obama will not have much more support from blacks than Kerry did, since Democrats win almost all black voters anyway. This year will be no different.

23 Outrider  Sat, Nov 1, 2008 2:32:57pm

I received this in my E-mail, went to his company website and confirmed it. I am not intentionally blog pimping, but the letter is too long to take up Charles bandwidth. It is a great response to Obamas 30 minute ad in which everyone was pissing and moaning about how their surrogate Daddy needed to do more for them. The letter is an open letter to Senator Obama:

Given the uproar about the simple question asked you by Joe, the plumber, and the persecution that has been heaped on him because he dared to question you, I find myself motivated to say a few things to you myself. While Joe aspires to start a business someday, I already have started not one, but 4 businesses. But first, let me introduce myself. You can call me 'Cory, the well driller'. I am a 54-year-old high school graduate. I didn't go to college like you, I was too ready to go 'conquer the world' when I finished high school. 25 years ago at age 29, I started my own water well drilling business at a time when the economy here in East Texas was in a tailspin from the crash of the early 80's oil boom. I didn't get any help from the government, nor did I look for any. I borrowed what I could from my sister, my uncle, and even the pawn shop and managed to scrape together a homemade drill rig and a few tools to do my first job. My businesses did not start not a result of privilege. It is the result of my personal drive, personal ambition, self discipline, self reliance, and a determination to treat my customers fairly.

From the very start my business provided one other (than myself) East Texan a full time job. I couldn't afford a backhoe the first few years (something every well-drilling business had), so I and my helper had to dig the mud pits that are necessary for each and every job with hand shovels. I had to use my 10-year-old, ½-ton pickup truck for my water tank truck (normally a job for at least a 2-ton truck).

(snip)

Sailing to Delirium -- No Candidate For Young Men.

It is not light that we need, but fire; it is not the gentle shower, but thunder. We need the storm, the whirlwind, and the earthquake. (Douglass)

Wise men may council us, saying, "You learn to know a pilot in a storm"(Seneca), but before we vote for the de-facto leader of the Free World we'd better get to know the pilot before the storm.

Likewise, before undecided voters hasten off to the ballot box, let us arm them with the equanimity (evenness of mind, especially under stress *) begotten from the ordeal and triumph of experience.

Do you remember when a man in his seventies gave the mantle of power and responsibility to a young man in his early forties?

Do you remember when the Battle hardened sage, Eisenhower the wise, gave council at the moment before the immanent breaking of the world, to the young Kennedy?

Do you remember when the Commander of all Allied forces in Europe gave a patient talk to the young man, successfully transmitting the sober message concerning the enemies of the freedom and civilization during the Cold War, and the young steward took up his sword: "We dare not tempt them with weakness."[1]

Compare now and contrast the qualities of another presumptive young leader, who thinks they can so easily earn the right and have the ability to wield the levers of power, in a cavalier manner, in the face of what they casually perceive to be foes of no great consequence:

1. Do an image search for "Frederick Douglass" -- that's what a battle hardened man looks like.

"In 1872, Douglass became the first African-American nominated as a Vice Presidential candidate in the U.S., running on the Equal Rights Party ticket with Victoria Woodhull, the first woman to run for President of the United States." *

2. Do an image search for "Barack Obama" -- that's what a Harvard polished clown looks like.

"Obama is the first African American to be nominated by a major American political party for president. A graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School ... Obama worked as a community organizer and practiced as a civil rights attorney before serving three terms in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004." *

Perceive any differences? There are some grim and determined men outside of America that do.

I'll give you a hint. Those men have just as many nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons as we do -- except their weapons are either (a) pointed at us, (b) distributed to their allies, or (c) leaked to rogue nation and asymmetric actors (and I don't mean George Clooney).

Let's take another look at a fundamental difference in character:

"Douglass taught slaves how to read the New Testament at a Sabbath school on the plantation. As word spread, the interest among slaves in learning to read was so great that on any week over 40 slaves would attend lessons." (ibid)

"Obama taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School' for twelve years, being first classified as a Lecturer from 1992 to 1996, and then as aSenior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004." (ibid)

Do you think that current and future adversaries of the U.S., armed to the teeth with destructive capabilities and intent, whether they be sovereign nations, rogue states, or terror cells will take a "lecture" from a pasty Harvard lawyer? Does he even realize the full extent of the threat?

(end part 1)

1. Polls are public. There are at least 2 people present when a polling question is asked. The Ballot is private.

2. Poll questions can be worded in leading, tricky ways. The ballot is simple.

3. Polls never measure the opinions of those who refuse to answer them.

4. Polls can be used to try and influence the outcome of an election, so the motivation behind them and their reporting is suspect. The ballot is the election.

5. You can lie to a pollster. You cannot lie to the ballot.

6. Polls come to you. You have to get up off your ass to vote.

7. Only God knows the future anyway.

This election is like the very first episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation opened with the crew facing a god-like figure (Q, not 0bama), who was posing a threat. When Riker, the first officer, asked what they were going to do, Captain Picard replied with some advice that every McCain supporter should heed:

"Do? We're going to do just what we'd do if this 'Q' never existed. If we're going to be damned, let's be damned for what we really are!"

49 blackpajamas  Sat, Nov 1, 2008 2:39:23pm

(begin part 2)

According to the The Hoover Institution's Milton Friedman Senior Fellow, Mr. Thomas Sowell:

Anyone who has actually had to take responsibility for consequences by running any kind of enterprise— whether economic or academic, or even just managing a sports team— is likely at some point to be chastened by either the setbacks brought on by his own mistakes or by seeing his successes followed by negative consequences that he never anticipated.

The kind of self-righteous self-confidence that has become Obama’s trademark is usually found in sophomores in Ivy League colleges— very bright and articulate students, utterly untempered by experience in the real world.

The signs of Barack Obama’s self-centered immaturity are painfully obvious, though ignored by true believers who have poured their hopes into him, and by the media who just want the symbolism and the ideology that Obama represents.

Does Obama say, "We dare not temp them with weakness?" No, instead we get this:

"Obama stated that if elected he would enact budget cuts in the range of tens of billions of dollars, stop investing in "unproven" missile defense systems, not "weaponize" space, "slow development of Future Combat Systems," and work towards eliminating all nuclear weapons. Obama favors ending development of new nuclear weapons, reducing the current U.S. nuclear stockpile, enacting a global ban on production of fissile material, and seeking negotiations with Russia in order to take ICBMs off high alert status" (ibid), video

To paraphrase and quote the following article:

Director of National Intelligence (Mike McConnell): the U.S. is most vulnerable to attack during a new president's first year in office. "the first attack on the World Trade Center was attacked in the first year of President Clinton," ... "And the second attack was in the first year of President Bush. So those who wish us harm realize this is a period for us when we are still adjusting to making decisions and understanding and so on."

But al Qaeda isn't the only threat the next president or his successors will face over the next decade and a half. The rise of economic powers such as China, India, and the growing strength of non-state actors, such as terrorist and criminal organizations; competition over scarce resources, such as water and agricultural products, magnified by climate change; on top of the spread of destructive technologies will create many possibilities for conflict.

"During the period of this assessment, out to 2025, the probability for conflict between nations and within nation-state entities will be greater," McConnell said.

Speaking therefore as a concerned American citizen, who knows exactly how long it takes between the opening of launch tubes on a boomer off Kamchatka and a bright flash or radiation that would turn Los Angeles in a smoking ruin of seriously used BMWs and charred tofu (redistributing the neutron-wealth), when I vote for a man for the office of President, it will be a man of character, conviction, and pr oven wisdom like Fredrick Douglass, or John McCain, who would strike terror in the hearts of the dread foes of the United States, and prevail.

To all men who seek the Presidency of the United States: I will now tell you something that the media will not tell you. I will tell you something that neither the Joint-Chiefs, the Presidential Daily Briefing, nor the deepest think tanks will tell you. I will tell you something that only boots on the ground (and some electronic whiskers), will tell you.

Countries like Russia and China contain hundreds of millions (if not billions) of people, in both the command sector (governing the use of military force, and marshaling the national will to use it) and the industrial sector (producing the intellectual energy, the weapons of war, and the fervor to employ them), who have severe, deep-seated, generational, un-appreciation (e.g., bald-faced hatred) for ethnic diversity -- especially, tragically, with respect to people of high melanin count. In negotiations with those kinds of people (and I use the term 'people' loosely), they will not negotiate from the standpoint of equals -- they will negotiate, plan, and act, as if their adversary is a dog, not quite human, if you either (a) show weakness, (b) are not of their immediate identity, or (c) both.

In that assessment, it sounds like the deck is stacked against one of the candidates.

It is. It is not fair, but it is cold hard reality. Like the weather, the hearts and minds of those un-appreciative people can wildly swing between plain rotten and abject evil, but we must prepare for the worst*. The best that we American's can do at this time is call upon an experienced pilot to weather the storm, while those in training can take notes, tempting none with weakness.

I am willing to elect a President that has the disadvantage of item (b) above, but not item (a).

Sigh. Seattle papers:

When these early voters and others around the state go to bed Tuesday night, there's a good chance they won't know who has won the race for governor or other close state contests, because of rules related to mail-in voting.

King's 16-year-old ballot-counting equipment will effect a slow statewide count that could leave voters wondering Tuesday night who will be the next governor.

Whatever is going on in this state, whenever King county is given extra time, bad things happen.

Help?

Feedback requested on the latest zomblog post:

Osawatomie: the Weather Underground newspaper

Any suggestions fro improvements?

Zomblog has obtained an extremely rare copy of the first issue of Osawatomie, a newspaper published by the Weather Underground in 1975. Noteworthy passages are reproduced below, along with exact transcriptions. The full pages, with each passage in context in high resolution, are found at the bottom of this post.

Much of Osawatomie, which was written at a time when the Dohrn-Ayers wing of the Weather Underground was transitioning from terrorism to “working from the inside” for revolution, concerns itself with the need to encourage “organizers” who will work in “communities” and use “audacity” to bring about “socialism” in America.

Don’t believe me? Read the quotes for yourself, and see them in context on the full pages below.

Rather than analyze the significance of the parallels between the ideas in Osawatomie, Barack Obama’s personal history, and the strategies, slogans and goals of his campaign for the presidency, I will let you the reader decide for yourself.

As with my earlier posts about Prairie Fire and Obama’s review of Ayers’ book, media members and bloggers are granted full permission to use the images and transcriptions on this page freely and without restriction.

Many thanks to Zomblog contributors experiencedtraveler and Sharmuta, who did the actual legwork of tracking down and obtaining this rare document.

(Coincidence? The image on the left shows the Weather Underground Organization logo in 1975, and the Obama for President campaign logo in 2008.)

Good stuff! Good work! Here are a couple of suggestions.

(1) I'd set the WU and Obama logos and the caption (below) apart from the rest.

(Coincidence? The image on the left shows the Weather Underground Organization logo in 1975, and the Obama for President campaign logo in 2008.)

Repeating them at the end is a good touch. Perhaps make it clearer where the left-hand (tiny) logo comes from? An arrow pointing into the book's cover?

(2) Bold-ing of just the middle phrase (in the sentence below) confused me at first. Perhaps include "the people," in the bold?

But isolated from the people, the makers of history and the carriers of change, it is useless.

First of all - wow!
That is incredible that you and your co-workers (hi!) have found this 'newspaper'.
The similarity between those two symbols - yep, the one is old, the other a modern graphic take on it.

I like it that you just let the phrases and words and expressions speak for themselves., just bolding the key words. This has a much greater impact than explaining eveything.
People like it when they see that they are trusted to use their minds.

A final, terse observation might be called for, however, as its ending rather abruptly.
Something along the lines of this piece showing where the roots of Obama's thoughts are, and how visible they become once one knows where to look.
Nothing long - let people come to their own conclusions.

Congrats on another brilliant piece of investigative journalism!

Well done, Sharmuta!

You have been a busy gal lately.

Let me try to wrap my head around this...

If the big O wins, there will be rioting(included the requisite looting), and we'll be branded racists.

If O looses, there will be rioting(included the requisite looting), and we'll be branded racists.

Right?

re: #111 UberInfidel67

You really can't appreciate the full impact of that commercial unless you see it on a big TV screen with the sound cranked up. Actually, if I was a fence sitter, this would sway me to McCain. It is THAT scary to hear.

Yeah, big difference I would imagine than my 14.1" screen Asus laptop. lol

But, you are right. That ad has impact. Google it and see the fuss it has made on the left.

I notice I always put the "0" in God while others don't. I really hope I'm not offending anyone when I do that.

That is a thing our Jewish lizards do out of respect. Some of the Christians have picked up on it as well. As long as you don't come across as a Jeremiah Wright then you are okay with either.

The commonality of the words used in this text is just too similar to the ideology and comments from Obama's own mouth. His distaste for the courts, the social community organizing, the get in their faces.
Zombie, this is very timely. More evidence of validation of his policies and of his radical potential as a President. Chilling concept.
Great work to you, Sharmuta and experiencedtraveler!

There is no doubt in this Missourian's mind that McCain wins Missouri. None at all.

*But still, folks, for God's sake get out and vote.

re: #152 pre-Boomer Marine brat

Good stuff! Good work! Here are a couple of suggestions.

I had to fiddle with the caption under the logo for a complicated design reason. Sorry!

As for the bolded "change" part, I was just referring to Obama's constant refrain that he is the bringer of "change."

very confused
the good Nevada polls 50-50 but being on the ground here and being on the phone , I think it looks good here. rumors of good internals abuzz on net

the bad
numbers are not really moving on Matchbook.com
where right now you can still get 7-1 on pretty large money. Some Karl Rove type would risk 30k to win 210 k and line would be forced down. Ok time to start drinking.

Jim Talent is the real deal, and he got screwed by Claire McCaskill, that Obamaton.

Regardless of what happens nationally on Tuesday, and I am hopeful about that, when Missouri goes to McCain I'm going to drink a shot of Maker's Mark and pretend it's Claire McCaskill's tears.

Wow. Good job. Some words & phrases that stood out:
Organizers
~ Community Oraganizer

Audacity
~The Audacity of Hope

Thousands more are needed
~Dept of peace

Our solutions should be drastic.
~ Get in their faces

Wealth should be taken from the Pentagon budget and used to rebuild our cities, schools and hospitals.
~0bama's National peace force? (forgot the name he used in the obamamercial).
/striking parallels

Just a reminder, people:

When all is said and done, the important thing is, if you haven't already done so, get out and VOTE THIS TUESDAY!

I've already voted, but wish I could do it again! This is the first time I've voted absentee and it will be really weird not to cast a vote on election day. A letdown of sorts - like I'm not really participating. I've got to get past that feeling...........

Whoa! Plagarism rears its ugly head.

Don't forget Biden plagiarized speeches in his first Presidential bid in 1988, as well as papers in his first year of law school. Two peas in a pod.

I wonder if Obama's illegal alien aunt in South Boston has actually voted in this election yet. She contributed $260 to his campaign illegally. Gotta wonder if ACORN paid her a visit to sign her up. Anyone got a way to check this?
