Well I know how hard it's been for many of us to access LGF the last couple of days and even this morning, so I personally have mixed feelings about having even MORE folks enabled to come on to LGF to comment, but I also thank Charles for giving new voices a chance to be heard at this critical juncture in America's existence.
And I know poor Charles is gonna have to work even harder than normal to get us through Wednesday (or a week from Wednesday, depending on how fraudulent the vote is in, say, Ohio!) so I do thank you Charles.
And I want to welcome all newbies aboard LGF - PLEASE read the rules Charles has put out above. In fact, I'll make it easy on ya:

Comments are open and unmoderated, and do not necessarily reflect the views of Little Green Footballs.
Obscene, abusive, silly, or annoying remarks may be deleted, but the fact that particular comments remain on the site in no way constitutes an endorsement of their views by Little Green Footballs.
Posts that contain phone numbers, street addresses, email addresses or other personal information will also be deleted, as will posts that consist only of a variation on the word, "First!"
Comments that advocate violence will be cause for immediate banning with no appeal.
REMEMBER: posting comments at LGF is a privilege, not a right. Abuse that privilege, and your account will be blocked.

And trust me, Charles means those rules, too!

Ignore all of that and GO VOTE. Even if eleventy billion vote the other way, get your own voice heard and on the record. Take someone else with you when you vote; encourage everyone you know to vote. Vote, vote, vote.

I choose to be positive and hope for a miracle that John McCain can pull off an end run around the Anointed One and the MSM. A friend of mine from NC sent me this email from her friend. She also sent a message to the NC board of elections.

There was almost a riot at the voting location. With all the discussion about voting fraud and acorn I thought you might want to know what was going on in my home town today. I live in the town of Kinston in eastern North Carolina . I am an insurance agent with Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of N.C. I received a phone call from one of my three sons this morning. He had been talking to a republican that was a member of the local board of elections. The board member had just left the Kinston early voting location with some very disturbing information. He was involved with an attempt to stop the 'circus' that was going there. He had stated that bus loads of mentally retarded and severely handicapped patients from a state funded facility called The Caswell Center were being transported to the voting location and that their black democratic state employee aids were voting for them. They claimed they were assisting; but, how can institutionalized mentally retarded patients know how to vote much less make a reasonable logical decision? Most of them cannot read or write and many of them are also blind. This must be illegal! He also reported that democratic supporters were passing out shot bottles of alcoholic drinks to other voters before and after they had voted. The parking lot looked more like the back alley of a local tavern on a Saturday night than a voting location. This news was verified by my 60 yr old sister this afternoon . I stopped by her home after work and was sharing the info when she advised me that she had personally witnessed what was going on because she had voted today at the same facility. She said that many voters black/white/democratic/republicans were questioning what was going on there. I am 55 yrs old and for the first time in my adult life I don't have much faith in our democratic system and the way it operates. I hope this info will somehow help correct our countries direction and help make other Americans more aware of our serious voting flaws and expose the democratic party for trying to steal our Presidential Election

She is a very reliable person. I left off her name for privacy reasons.

Hello folks. I hope everybody is fine and dandy, on this the last day of liberty for the US republic. If you haven't read this essay, do so now:

Obama and the Politics of Crowds by By Fouad Ajami

There is something odd -- and dare I say novel -- in American politics about the crowds that have been greeting Barack Obama on his campaign trail. Hitherto, crowds have not been a prominent feature of American politics. We associate them with the temper of Third World societies. We think of places like Argentina and Egypt and Iran, of multitudes brought together by their zeal for a Peron or a Nasser or a Khomeini. In these kinds of societies, the crowd comes forth to affirm its faith in a redeemer: a man who would set the world right.

As the late Nobel laureate Elias Canetti observes in his great book, "Crowds and Power" (first published in 1960), the crowd is based on an illusion of equality: Its quest is for that moment when "distinctions are thrown off and all become equal. It is for the sake of this blessed moment, when no one is greater or better than another, that people become a crowd." These crowds, in the tens of thousands, who have been turning out for the Democratic standard-bearer in St. Louis and Denver and Portland, are a measure of American distress.

...The morning after the election, the disappointment will begin to settle upon the Obama crowd. Defeat -- by now unthinkable to the devotees -- will bring heartbreak. Victory will steadily deliver the sobering verdict that our troubles won't be solved by a leader's magic.

RTWFT!

Your web page takes too long to load. Have you thought about cutting back on all the extras? I use Macintosh safrai and I have to hit stop loading to see your web page. I have a broadband connection and your web site takes the longest time to load. It is time to cut back on all the extras.

Charles is working on it. Not showing the avatars is one extra that has been cut back. I understand that a faster server in in the works, but that takes time. This is a difficult time for all of us, including the poor hamsters.

hey newbies, welcome. i got my ticket during the last general election as LGF was a place to find sanity on the day.

remember not to believe the exit polling tomorrow. it's slanted heavily toward democrats. the republicans are anxious to get back to work or to get home to their families. not much time for exit polls.

always time for LGF though.

cheers.

This is the thing that scares me the most. Not only is Obama lying about literally everything (except when he thinks no one i listening/looking) but they are doing everything they can to fraudulently get votes for Obama. Will there ever be another free and fair election after this one?

If The Zero wins, I fear that free and fair elections will be a thing of the past.

This is an excellent article.

The calls on the left of "elect Obama or blood will run in the streets" are also indicative of a Third World election.

The problem (well ONE problem) is that we have a class of people in this country who honestly believe that they live in Third World poverty.

And who told them that?

Obama now openly channeling Malcolm X

On the stump, where he's given nearly the exact same speech for a week, he's started to show some of the looseness of his earlier campaign. "Don't be hoodwinked," he said of McCain's claims, a standard line, to which he added a less regular filigree: "Don't be bamboozled, don't fall for the okey-doke."

Malcolm X speech

So I'm not here this afternoon as a Republican, nor as a Democrat...

So I have to stand here today as what I was when I was born: A black man.

Before there was any such thing as a Republican or a Democrat, we were black...

In fact, before there was any such place as America, we were black!

And after America has long passed from the scene, there will still be black people.

I'm gonna tell you like it really is. Every election year these politicians are sent up here to pacify us! They're sent here and setup here by the White Man!

"I say and I say it again, you've been had. You've been took. You've been HOODWINKED, BAMBOOZLED, led astray, run amok."

I'm a new hatchling--voting in Cuyahoga County tomorrow. I refused to vote early because I would not trust the BOE with a Republican ballot. (I can hear them saying, "Oops, we misplaced some early ballets and our wonderful secretary of state will say, "That's OK. It doesn't matter as long as our guy wins.") I hope my vote helps McCain win Ohio despite the widespread fraud here.

Went to see Lynn Forester de Rothchild yesterday at a McCain victory center. She reminded us that Hillary was down 7 points in PA and she won by 7.

It goes on & on & only mentions dirty tricks against Republicans, during the primaries, you know when Republicans did it to each other.

If Obama wins, Charles will be forced to offer health care to the hamsters. Thus, there will, by necessity, be fewer hamsters available, due to the need to recoup the additional costs for the health insurance.

Thus, LGF will run even slower.

Portents and signs ...
Here's something to ponder: Lewis Hamilton won the FI Championship yesterday.

He's the first Black to ever win this trophy ...

Through the years, I noticed that our rugby team - clad in scarlet - always lost when Ferrarri - scarlet cars! - won the F1 race that day ...

My portent therefore is - only one black man to win something this month ...

Thought ye'd like it.

re: #391 opnion

The MSN Homepage says that there are a lot more election dirty tricks than usual. They go on for paragraphs detailing how there are attempts to supress Democrat votes. Examples are robo calls claiming the Republicans vote on Tusday, while Democrats vote on Wednesday & That those with outstanding arrest warrants will be arrested if they try to vote.
It goes on & on & only mentions dirty tricks against Republicans, during the primaries, you know when Republicans did it to each other.
Not a word about Acorn!

I don't believe any of those things are happening. The Republican Tuesday/Democrat Wednesday joke has been around for years. The one about outstanding arrrest warrants circulates in the black community every election. I don't believe they can produce any proof that such robocalls are being made.

Well - Larry Sabato and "common wisdom" notwithstanding, I do think McCain will win, so on that score I'm doing well.
But the IDEA that North Carolina MIGHT go for Obama is distressing me no end! LOL!

It distresses me as well. Particularly that large cities like Charlotte, are held up by the banking industry which the Obamanation will regulate and tax and take over possibly.
The rural sections need to get out the vote because that "intellectual" center of the research triangle is particularly fond of the notion of a Black president...to tear down the wall of racial discrimination.
There are so many retirees in the mountains here that have their 2nd and third homes...they are the left overs from the 60's Civil Rights movement and they see the culmination of what they fought for back then. They are color "blind" by being color "seeing". They all got rich on capitalism but hate it.
Add that to a very large homosexual population in these parts, you have a natural liberal base out of what was rural NC a generation ago.

But, I have found so many McCain people popping up in places I wouldn't have expected. I know we will win.

Back to the offices this afternoon to call some more.

He does it a lot. It's like the lipstick on pig comment. Either he's an idiot or he knows. Of course he knows. What's he going to do - just hold it out there at arm's length? Must have that "plausible deniability". There's no "jumping" to a conclusion if there is no actual evidence available and all will be denied. The polls are bullsh*t.

Here's the gist of why polls of "red and blue" are B.S.:

* What if 40% of the balls have personally chosen to live in an urn that you legally can't stick your hand into?
* What if 50% of the balls who live in the legal urn explicitly refuse to let you select them?
* What if the balls inside the urn are constantly interacting and talking and arguing with each other, and can decide to change their color on a whim?
* What if you have to rely on the balls to report their own color, and some unknown number are probably lying to you?
* What if you've been hired to count balls by a company who has endorsed blue as their favorite color?
* What if you have outsourced the urn-ball counting to part-time temp balls, most of whom happen to be blue?
* What if the balls inside the urn are listening to you counting out there, and it affects whether they want to be counted, and/or which color they want to be?

The PUMA's are pissed off, and well should be. What i do not understand is Hill and Bill continuing to campaign for him and not call him on his thuggery. Maybe our new PUMA can help me to understand this...

It's about money.

Mac was tested already for 5 1/2 years in the Hanoi Hilton. Obama has yet to be tested. And America can't afford another 9/11. I voted absentee for McCain/Palin already. My husband was Navy for 24 years and retired last year. We trust the fighter pilot over the big Zero. McCain's got the OODA for sure!

Obama’s first fulltime employer, Business International, had substantial SDS ties in the 1960s.

Sorry to be a dolt but can someone explain how I can post this so it appears in the list of links? I used the symbol to the right of the 'quote' symbol in the area immediately above the area you write your post inside. What did I do wrong?

My county republican headquarters is manned heavily by former Hillary supporters. The longer they're working at the office, the more vocal the support for all republican candidates running. My county went 75% for HRC. Barky may get 40%. Mostly Hispanic, mostly democratic. Numbers will be interesting.

Welcome, newbies!

Okay, okay, so I'm sort of a newbie myself. Though I got in back when the regs were opened around one of the presidential debates, I've been just lurking. But now's the time to jump out of the shadows and declare with full confidence that McCain/Palin will take Florida, PA, OH and thus the White House!

The first round of rum is on me. :)

Lots of Hillary voters believe she is trying to stay in the party for the future or that barky has something on her or Bill. I don't believe any of that. She made her choice, we made ours.
I personally think alot of her voters planning to vote for barky because he is on the dem ticket, are going to get in that voting booth, see the woman's name on the other ticket and vote for the side with the woman on it. They were told, sure the democratic party wants a woman, just not this one. When the same excuses are used to condemn Sarah Palin, it sinks in. They will never put a woman on what could be a winning ticket. Republicans will break that barrier.

607 Vashta.Nerada  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 11:15:48am

The key for Hillary, assuming her supporters realize it, is that 8 years is a long time. Basically, for Hillary to ever have an opportunity to be president, Obama must lose this year.

I like your blog roll.

Thanks. I try to be brief but cogent.

Wife and I already voted absentee. But, and I say this with all due caution . . . I voted for Obama. And I did that because the lesson must be learned. There are just too many reality-impaired people out there who are swallowing the rubbish he's spouting. So I say, it's time to forcibly remove the scales from their eyes and make them confront the cold hard truth. Let's have four years of unrestrained Democrat nitwittery and in 2012 we can point to it and say "How'd that work out for ya, folks?" Maybe the nonsense of the left can be buried once and for all.

I voted for Obama. And I did that because the lesson must be learned.

Excuse me? While I agree that the liberal left needs to be put down in such a manner as to render it an historical oddity, I believe that you have misunderstood what voting is really all about. The privilege of voting is a duty that every citizen of this country should take very seriously. It is an opportunity for your voice to be heard and should not be used as a bludgeon to punish those with whom you disagree. One doesn't give more candy to an overweight kid as punishment for bad behavior. Did it occur to you when you cast your vote for Obama that, should he win, you're "punishment" affects not just those who have blindly followed him, but also those who have vehemently opposed him?

You're kidding me right? He is going to do irreparable damage in four years and you voted for him so people could be confronted with the truth? He gets to appoint Supreme Court Justices in those 4 years, c'mon this sounds like a ploy from the Obama camp to turn Mac supporters...

Start at Gates of Vienna. There are a LOT of LGF-haters in your blogroll.

I'm finding it a bit hard to believe you didn't know about any of it.

No, it's not a ploy. Yes, I fully understand what I'm doing. But I maintain that it's the only way. People can argue could'a-would'a-should'a until they pass out, but without the objective experience it's all just outgassing. It's like housebreaking a dog . . . sometimes ya gotta rub their nose in the poo to make 'em see the point.

633 Charles Johnson  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 1:28:04pm

And by the way, I have zero interest in discussing any of the crap you will find at those sites. You decide whether your LGF account is important to you or not.

634 roguejew  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 1:32:55pm

No problem...Consider the issue dead! Wasn't looking to discuss anything, just mentioning as a matter of factly!

635 Godefroi  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 1:53:06pm

Charles,

I've purged my blogroll of sites I don't currently support and/or frequent. Any other sites highlighted are incidental in a common cause.

If I'm still unwelcome and disinvited because of those that remain...well, it was nice to finally meet you, and I'll see you again at the end of the jihad.

My best (and I mean that),

Hello, just testing my newfound posting ability. The posting window appears to be spacious and well-padded, suitable for relaxing in.

Thanks for letting me in! I've been looking for a friendly and reasonably tolerant place to post comments, because fark.com sure isn't it. Polite posts by family-minded individuals are seized upon as flame-bait there. Oh, if only I'd inherited some snark genes...

I can report that my polling place, in a red region of a blue state, had three times the normal visits by 8:00 this morning. I hope this trend is reflected elsewhere around the country.

 Frank says:

This is Frank Zappa saying, Don't do speed. Speed turns you into your parents. -- this used to play OFTEN as a public service announcement(PSA) on radio station WHFS at 102.5 FM in bethesda,MD.USA during the early '70's. it was followed by a nearly inaudible whisper, "...but grass and acid are o.k.", which may have been frank, or one of the mothers.
