Ohio Coal Association on Obama’s Plan to Wipe Them Out

Just released via Fox News, a statement from Mike Carey, president of the Ohio Coal Association:

The message from the Democratic candidate for President could not be clearer: the Obama-Biden ticket spells disaster for America’s coal industry and the tens of thousands of Americans who work in it.

It’s evident that this campaign has been pandering in states like Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana, and Pennsylvania to attempt to generate votes from coal supporters, while keeping his true agenda hidden from the state’s voters.

And many of those are battleground states. NOW will you Virginians, Pennsylvanians, and Ohioans vote against this clown? Please?

8 calcajun  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 11:47:55am

I think central and western PA are already going GOP. Isn't it the Philly area that always tilts the scales to the Dems? This would not have that much of an effect in that area. Maybe in SE Ohio, though. Northern VA, perhaps?

Please, Lord, please.

New at zomblog, part of today's "Obama dump":

Baruch Obama

Obama supporters get furious when anyone mentions that his middle name is Hussein — because it’s so obviously Arabic. But no one ever seems to point out that “Barack” is also Arabic — it means “blessed” and is a Swahili loan word from Arabic. The closely related Hebrew named “Baruch” also means “blessed” — which I suppose this bumpersticker would translate as (though I can’t read Hebrew so I have no idea what it actually says).

I find myself living in a bizaro world where I actually wish it were Hillary Clinton poised to take the White House tomorrow. It's finally gotten that bad.

13 PAgirlinNC  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 11:49:00am

No wonder he wanted his followers to vote early... And I don't think the coal comment is the biggest bombshell he was (is) worried about getting out. There is definitely more.

re: #8 calcajun

Northern VA, perhaps?

No, NoVA is liberal. If it swings votes in SW VA, though, that could be crucial.

15 Randall Gross  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 11:49:15am

The Dems are the party of energy stasism. They are hell bent to put conservatives in chains on bikes to produce power since all of the other power sources that actually work are verboten in their books. Maybe that's what Barack's Army is for.

This does not hurt the utilities as much as the suppliers and consumers. Grannie, git yer gun, your power bill is gonna jump way up... a tax on only the rich? Hell no, he's taxing everyone that flips a switch, from the uber-poor to the uber rich.

BTW, this bio-fuels research he's going to pay for by these high fees... they emit megatons of CO2 also! (idiot).

186 Ozark Mountain Daredevil  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 12:11:58pm

Somebody here posted this poem the other day. Wish I remembered who to give them credit. If you missed it, check it out. It's brilliant!

Remember, remember, this fourth of November,
The radicals’ treasonous plot.
I know of no reason the radicals’ treason
Should e’er be forgiv’n or forgot.
The Sixties were waning, and Leftists were claiming
That radical changes were due.
Their Marxist solution was armed revolution:
The Weathermen made their debut.
The radicals raged on the national stage, and
Horrific explosions ensued.
Their bombs were dramatic, but also erratic;
They sometimes killed radicals, too.
The Leftists grew older, the underground, colder,
And so they came in from the cold.
“Subvert from within – in the long run, we’ll win,” said
The Leftists, determined and bold.
And thus it began – this nefarious plan – and
The radicals slowly took charge:
Complete infiltration of all education;
The long institutional march.
The journalist schools would produce useful fools, for
The Left would need media shills.
And Hollywood, too, would assist in the coup, with
Its slick propagandizing skills.
“Community action” would build a new faction;
’Twould organize proles on the street.
A smooth politician would front for the mission,
And run for the president’s seat.
The radicals’ goal, which they proudly extol, is
A communist U.S. of A.
Collectivist schemes lead to brutal regimes, and
For this do the radicals pray.
But Jefferson’s aim, with the Charters he framed, was
To guard individual rights.
And “redistribution” was not a solution,
But one of the evils to fight.
So let us remember, this fourth of November,
Just what is at stake on this date.
Will Jefferson’s dream, or the radicals’ scheme, now
Determine America’s fate?

As I was saying yesterday, Obama wants to turn out the lights on the coal industry and doesn't quite explain where all that money goes. It's incredible that this wasn't picked up sooner, whether by GOP opp-research, Hillary's folks, or the media - especially SFGate who had the tape, the video, and didn't think the bankrupting of a major industry as an actual policy choice was important. That latter part is incredible - and wouldn't you know it that many of the battleground states happen to be coal producers.

Lawyers Aim to Roll Back Curbs on Lawsuits

Plaintiff and consumer groups, buoyed by prospects of a Democratic president and expanded Democratic majority in Congress, are preparing a big push for legislation that would roll back limitations on personal-injury and class-action lawsuits.

The plaintiffs bar's legislative wish-list includes limiting companies' use of federal regulations as a shield from litigation under state law, and laws to end mandatory arbitration in consumer contracts, opening potential new avenues for civil lawsuits.

Yeah, that'll do the economy a shit load of good.

It is also one of the spellings for the name of the steed that Muhammad rode to meet Moses, Jesus et al with a stop at the sight of the al Aqsa mosque.

Barack is the Swahili rendered version of the the Arabic name Baracka which is extremely popular in Arab North Africa. It is almost identical to and has the same meaning as the Hebrew Baruch or 'blessing'. His name doesn't mean 'lightning' and has nothing to do with the mythical Islamic Buraq.

I was born one morning when the sun came up red
I picked up my tools and went to the coal bed
The boss said "There isn't work for you here,
Obama made the market disappear."

You steal sixteen votes, what do you get?
A Marxist candidate that hasn't hit bottom yet
Obama's mouth dug him in a hole
'Cause he wants to bankrupt the business of coal.

Oh, you probably want one of those boring old-fashioned economies that makes stuff, don't you. Don't you realize that cool, modern, hip economies are based on 1) trading "carbon credits" and 2) suing each other? Get with it, Herbert.

Kragaristani Law says all lawyers suffer the same penalty as their clients, or if found to press suit in a case they lose, they and their client can be charge with contempt of court, which automatically disbars them and forces them to pay restitutions to the court and the accused.

There are remarkably few lawyers in Kragaristan.

NMA Comments on Senator Obama's Coal Policy

NATIONAL MINING ASSOCIATION SPEAKS OUT ABOUT SENATOR GOVERNMENT:

National Mining Association (NMA) President and CEO Hal Quinn today responded to comments Senator Obama reportedly made in a January 17 interview with the San Francisco Chronicle. In response to a question, the senator said his climate change policy would "bankrupt" U.S. coal:

"Bankrupting the coal industry would be tantamount to bankrupting the American economy. Coal generates half of our nation’s electricity, employs hundreds of thousands of Americans and provides millions of dollars in revenue to coal states.

"Destroying the coal industry would break America’s energy backbone. It would raise the cost of energy for households and businesses throughout the country and create massive job losses. We trust the candidates understand this and do not believe that destroying the coal industry is part of the change we need."

Fellow Lizards-
The one good thing about ObaMao being ahead in this race is it forced me off of my lazy butt and get involved. I have done so out of fear of what will happen to our country.

My fear is we will become a third rate super power and our middle class will vanish. He will abndon Israel which will lead to chaos in the middle east- it will make the Iraq war look like a picnic.

Back in June I suffered a series of heart attacks and have had 4 trips to the ER to end up with 4 stents. I still suffer chest pains and the doc says I need 2 more stents within 6-12 months.

Anyway, everytime I see the news or polls referring to the One my chest gets tight and my arm gets numb. The thought of our country being handed over to socialists is literally tearing me apart.

I will continue to fight for McCain by making phone calls and then tomorrow driving people to the polls.

My question is--- am I over reacting? I know we are fighters and we will survive. Just at what cost?

332 SWPaul  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 12:33:35pm

What about those college kids in those areas? If Obama shuts down the coal industry, that affect many many other industries there. Any college grad with a degree in mining engineering, chemical engineering, civil, or mechanical will seriously suffer.
Hell, Obama raises taxes and unemployment goes up all around. Employers have to either 1) lay off employees, or 2) freeze all new hires. Remind me why the youth vote goes overwhelmingly to Obama?

Oh yeah, they all have secure jobs at American Apparel!

I know that thinking about The One being elected literally raises my blood pressure. The club where I work out has exercise bikes equipped with TVs and heart rate monitors. One time I saw an Obama commercial while riding the bike and watched my HR go up by several points in 30 seconds. That's how much of an effect it had. They are tough and independent (some to a scary point)...

In reality, Obama probably can't destroy the coal industry, even if he wanted to.

The Congressional majority he enjoys would fracture when it came down to the rubber-meets-road of elected Democrats destroying their own job-base. They'd defect and he wouldn't get the votes to do it.

On the other hand, this coal policy is one of the most asinine (and I apologize here to jackasses) energy type policies I've heard in a while. It says reams about Obama's judgment and motivation.

You can spin this. This guy is a member of the "Association" which represents the coal industry and not the unions, which are the key to Obama's success in these states.

The unions can still back Obama because how many times do unions and management agree?

This is only effective if the union leaders are smart enough to pull their heads out of their asses and realize that what's bad for their employers is bad for them.

No offense, but I don't think they will. They'll back the messiah even if it means slitting their own throats.

the whole time, for months, he has been planning to stab them in the back.
shutting down the coal industry would be disastrous for our economy overall and a terrible blow to all the hard working coal miners out there who take pride in their work and value their jobs.

everyday another stink bomb is dropped abt. obama. showing us who he really is. what he really stands for. it just gets worse.

everyday, mccain stands strong and true. the same good, capable man he was in the beginning, he is now. no terrible revelations abt. his background, his intentions, his character.
he is a patriot. he loves his country.
he will put america first. he has said so.
he will not destroy the very foundation of our country. mccain will win.
it will be the citizens obama has ridiculed who take mccain to victory.

Trickle down ecomics is just plan economics. Promote and reward productive behavior and lower subsidies on unproductive behavior. After hundreds of years of testing, it is by far the best system. Wherever it has been used - most natably the USA - the economy has flourished. Wherever command/control systems have been used, the economy has stagnated.

The problem with the term trickle down economics is "trickle down". Economists need a better PR firm.

re: #361 looking closely

In reality, Obama probably can't destroy the coal industry, even if he wanted to.

The Congressional majority he enjoys would fracture when it came down to the rubber-meets-road of elected Democrats destroying their own job-base. They'd defect and he wouldn't get the votes to do it.

On the other hand, this coal policy is one of the most asinine (and I apologize here to jackasses) energy type policies I've heard in a while. It says reams about Obama's judgment and motivation.

The POTUS, via the EPA, has surprising latitude to act on environmental issues w/o additional congressional authority. If the Environmentalists get strong oversight capability, they may not be able to kill coal, but they could put it on life support.

448 Pookykoala  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 12:57:36pm

I am being pessimistic but let me get this straight: Obama is going to go after the coal industry that has sustained this nation for a couple of hundred years, no less, in the battleground states that he needs to win the election?
So where does he think we are going to get energy from for half of this nation? Does he expect us to go dark? Are we to somehow thank him for the small amounts of electricity that he will dole out to us? Shall the nation return to the horse and buggy? But, wait, how will farmers be able to grow hay and alfalfa for the horses if all the fields are mandated to grow corn for ethanol because we no longer import oil under President Obama because he taxed that industry to death as well? Furthermore, if we don't have coal or oil, does that mean we burn our forests for warmth? No wait, we can't, they are already protected.
So we freeze because we can't heat our homes. We starve because we can't grow the foods we need because he has our farms producing bio-fuels. But, Obama never feels our pain because he is sitting behind the walls of the White House...if elected November 4. Obama will throw America into the Dark Ages faster than any other sitting President in history.

A line from Oliver Twist comes to mind, "Please, Sir, some more?"

This whole thing is orchestrated. Our faith in our ability to cast a ballot, and ultimately the value of our vote is being disenfranchised. We need to be calm and rational, and not make this an issue to be shouted from the mountain tops. It is highly unlikely that reality will ever be able to match up to an alarmed publics paranoia and fear. Reform is needed, but shaking the nations confidence in our democratic institutions is a lot more damaging than even actual voter fraud.

I understand the sentiment, and call for calm.

I live in WA, in '04 the election the governors race was fraudulently stolen. Not a BIG CONSPIRACY stolen, but stolen by distributed vote fraud. Many individuals fraudulently voting, a democrat machine in King Co. that every decision made by the elections board to leaned (D). It all added up and a legal but illegitimate Governor siting in Olympia.

The leftist have been fine tuning this method of vote fraud for sometime. If Obama wins by a few thousands votes in WI and WI gives him the electoral college. Knowing that ACORN has registered 70,000 more voters in Milwaukee and environs than eligible voters. How can we say the election is valid beyond doubt? Then when the fairness doctrine shuts down talk radio, and blogs like this and the First Amendment gone. And Obama gets his votes and comes for the Second Amendments which is easier.

Restoration of the Republic then or the easy fix with the solution I described? FAITH in clean elections is fundamental to "we the people" accepting election results. The leftist have been fine tuning

The EU elites aren't the same breed of 3rd World worshippers we have in America. This isn't about penance or appeasement on any moral grounds. We may use more energy, per capita, but we also produce more gross domestic product, per capita than all but a few other countries in the world (and a few of those are special exceptions, like Qatar).

In other words, as a nation, we're reasonably efficient with our energy usage.

What Obama and his fellow Communists never seem to get is that you don't need gov't intervention to limit energy usage. Its automatically limited by the vast (and more efficient) pressures of global supply and demand.

If this happens, its due in quite some measure to the indefatigable work of the PUMAs themselves.
They have been amazing - and they never let their ears droop - they were the original anti-eeyores!

Its up to the Lizards in the Western States to do their utmost - and do not listen to the news about exit polls! They are meant to befuddle and bamboozle you into giving up.

Don't give up, no matter what you hear - VOTE!

Canadian Troops in Afghanistan Measure Success Inch by Inch

Skirmishes with the Taliban in the province this year alone account for about a quarter of Canadian casualties in Afghanistan since the war began in 2001. The Canadian force is less than a tenth the size of the 33,000-member U.S. force. Nonetheless, the Canadians are responsible for maintaining security in one of the most historically fractious parts of the country.

Go Canucks! Even if it is the WaPo, it's good to see some recognition of the hard work the Canadian troops are doing in Af'stan.

re: #477 Scion9

The EU elites aren't the same breed of 3rd World worshippers we have in America. This isn't about penance or appeasement on any moral grounds. The Arabs have more numbers, more land and more money and the Europeans want it. For the most part, the Arab States don't have any kind of long-term capital investment (and is actually against their religion) with the exception of a few specific tribes, and the ones of the UAE in particular. The Arab 'royals' and elites have massive wealth though, and the EU wants it invested in European industry since it isn't going to any real use in the Arab world. They will spit on Israel, and worse to draw the Arab States into their economic fold.

It's highly immoral for the EU elites, and its highly stupid for the Arabs who will only become an economic colony, and be exploited by their new 'friends'.

And the Euros feel bad that they are doing this - not because they think they're doing anything wrong, but because they can't stand that the Israelis are moving to the front of the class on their own steam... the Euros can't keep up without slithering around perpetrating another slaughter of the few Jews who escaped them the first time. I know many Euros aren't in this mode, but they better speak up because silence means participation, as the Euros saw when they did this before.

Just think of the coal-staters who have already voted who would have voted differently if it weren't for the deception of the media. They will think about that vote with every hardship that arises. Those are going to be red states by 2010 and ever after.

Of course, H may find that his Democrat comrades in congress aren't as willing to slit their own throats. Ironically, I think the stability of the coal-industry has probably been assured by this. And now there is no guarantee that we'll have to put up with Obomba at all. A pity this didn't leak earlier.

yeah, but the union is still right there as of this morning: United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) International President Cecil E. Roberts issued the following statement today:

I don't see a landslide, but adjusting the partisan ID to a more reasonable +3D yields a Mac victory.

We won't know until tomorrow, but it is looking better all the time. The "undies" (undecideds) are almost all white and will vote 70/30 or maybe even 80/20 for McCain. The early vote is predominately Dem -- the absentee vote is Republican.

So far, there's a Dem advantage but it won't last.

If the MSM tries to call the election for Obama before the votes are counted, we should ... riot.

I am going to go out and make a prediction myself. McCain wins, but the MSM wont report that tomorrow night. The election results will be "in doubt". They will wait until the legions of Dem lawyers descend upon Florida, Ohio, etc...

Female. Feminist (which we now know is BS)

"How can you vote McCain after he picked Palin? I think it shows bad judgement." (notice the oldie but goodie left trick of using what you say about them agianst you).

I said, "You're right, I could never vote for a woman."

"No, really. I question his judgement."

"Well, she wasn't his pastor for 20 years."

That was it.

Basically a pseudo-intellectual faux feminist who couldn't come up with an intelligent answer of substance if her life had depended on it.

(note: This is the same woman that a couple of years ago looked at me as if I was crazy when I asked her (a Jewess) if she'd ever been to Israel, and then told me 2 minutes later that she and her husband were off to visit Saudi Arabia! We won't need foriegn oil in ten years and coal won't be allowed to be burned. How will we meet our enery needs? By so contracting our economy that our existing domestic supply, sans coal, will be suffecient. Remember we use way too much of the worlds energy anyway, based on our population.

Why is that an issue? So what if we use more of the worlds energy? We produce more. We have a higher standard of living than the third world nations that use so much less. Is there waste? Sure.

But, I'm tired of this constant harping we use so much of the energy; it is just more of the global class warfare.

You ain't kiddin', pard. I was at a local gun show here in Indiana on Saturday and by 10 a.m. the place was packed. Several dealers were doing land office business. I picked up a nice Yugo M66 (SKS knockoff), complete with scope, for not too much, plus lots of 7.62 x 39 ammo.

If His Majesty gets elected tomorrow, gun dealers will definitely have the best Christmas season they've seen in years.

This election seems more like "High School Election III". Hey gang, let's vote for that cool black guy with the trippy name for Student Body President, like, to show we really care. You know, like we voted for the gay guy for Homecoming Queen, and the Down Syndrome kid we let play guard on our basketball team's last game against our rivals (who beat us 105-24).

re: #501 Buck

I am now convinced that Hillary threw the fight. There is no way the Clinton machine missed this, and Ayers, and the LA TIMES video.

I had dinner with a high level Clinton staffer last week. He screamed out loud, in a LA restaurant that he hated Obama more than me, but that I was insane to think OBAMA was a Marxist.

HOWEVER, when I asked him how the great Clinton machine could have missed all of this, he just looked down and shook his head.

I can't prove it, but I am now convinced Hillary took a dive. She was told to go 8 rounds, but fold in the end.

I don't buy it. There is no good reason she would do that. From the Clinton perspective a party flip this cycle was essentially inevitable, and winning the Dem nomination was basically a guaranteed ticket into the White House. Taking a dive a few months ago could have meant ending any chance at being POTUS since she would have expected an Obama, and therefore couldn't run on her own merits until 2016 (when she is over 70).

IMO, she lost because:

-She got cheated at the ground level by Obama's ACORN-like tricks and the Dem's stupid caucus system.

-She lost the Black vote to Obamam who turned out to support him in unprecedented numbers.

-She underestimated Obama's potential appeal at first and wasted a lot of her money early. (IE retrospectively, her strategy wasn't sound). Frankly, I don't think anyone thought Obama would pull it off, including him. Obama himself, his wife, and Joe Biden (for starters) all said that Obama wasn't ready to be POTUS this election cycle.

-Like McCain, she also got the short end of the stick in terms of media coverage. The press lionized Obama and pissed on her. Had the press NOT surpressed the Edwards sex affair story, for example, he would have dropped out and she likely would have captured most of Edwards constituency, allowing her to beat Obama.

-Her entitlement act pissed off the Dem brass, who didn't go out of their way to support her.

-Plus, a lot of people just really don't like her.

We'll still have a looong way to go.

We need to start by smashing the NEA, getting rid of marxist agitators aka tenured college professors and as anothe Lizard, who's name escapes me, said, make Ayn Rand & Orwell's 1984 mandatory reading for our kidlets

I've said before that everybody on here should have a "buddy" who can contact the rest of us, in case something happens, so we're not wondering what's happened to people.
We used to have buddies when we went swimming at summer camp.

re: #252 Nevergiveup

If B.O. wins, it will surely be nice to have a buddy on the train with me en route to the Enlightenment & Re-Education Center (I wonder how fast B.O. will release ALL prisoners in GITMO and place incorrigible bloggers there instead?)

re: #528 hermeneutics

This is fascinating. Why do you think Hillary would do this? Is she prepping for 2012? Does she have something to hide that Obama used to blackmailed her? What's your guess?

It is the same thing that happened to Joe Lieberman. Only Joe didn't take it. Clinton did. Sometimes you are just not given a choice, you do what 'they' say.

There doesn't have to be an upside for her.

re: #37 CapeCoddah

Coal States = swing states. Nice Job, Obama! You just shot yourself in the foot.

This is mere hours before the election. It's unconscionable that this is coming out now.

A lot of these folks may have already voted, and the unions with their heads planted firmly in their asses were just as much of an obstruction to truth if this asshole gets into the white-house.

The speed at which this sort of shit is getting out has picked up to a fever-pitch. I wonder what we will continue to find out after the election.

This takes me back to 2004, when all the flurry was about Bush's past- major networks parroting the memo, and the subsequent debate of it's authenticity until it was proved false. In just the last week we've had Prarie Fire, the SDS Obama's Illegal aunt, ACORN workers saying from the own mouts how the Campaign is directly involved, etc etc etc.

...And it's all true.

Hours before the election.

This is like a bad novel.

587 ClosetConservative  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 2:05:23pm

Why now? Why not a week ago? Can the unions get the news out quickly enough?

Argh!

Make calls! We've gotta pull this one off.

588 West Coast Freedom  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 2:20:11pm

So, Obama says: “So what we have to do then is figure out how can we use coal without emitting greenhouse gases and carbon.” Maybe he can pull that one out his ass?

The UMWA site tries to persuade their workers that Obama is right, but who are they really looking out for? Union bosses do not always have the workers best interests at heart. They only want to hurt the mine owners. Policy like Obama’s will cost these workers jobs.

They mention McCain said “In a perfect World we would like to transition away from coal entirely.” Well, this is not a perfect World is it, so McCain is now the one being taken out of context it seems. McCain says that nuclear power would make this transition, but that is far off into the future.

What I make of this, is this is an Obama power and money grab, and this recklessness in speaking in San Fran has hurt his cause, not matter what his intentions are. He wants to spread the coal wealth it seems.

Vote for a balance in government.

589 ClosetConservative  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 2:24:37pm

It was too much to hope that the coal unions would figure it out. Their heads are FIRMLY planted in their rears right now.

[Link: www.umwa.org...]

They. Don't. Get. It.

Obama said that he wanted to bankrupt the coal industry. Period. The context doesn't help him. How difficult is that to understand?

What matters more, your job or 'Card Check' legislation. These people... Damn.

590 Boolz  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 2:40:15pm

This should in NO WAY be understood to be an endorsement of ANYTHING Obama, but for every ton of coal saved from being used for electrical consumption by use of wind, solar (or God forbid) nuclear power plants can then be used to produce good ol' American domestic synthetic fuel. If we're truly interested in energy independence, that is. Or as close to it as we can get. Just something to think about

591 LittleGreenBill  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 3:07:13pm

Excellent! Better late than never.

592 Fighton03  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 3:12:52pm

This should be a huge issue. So should AIPAC, so should the Mortgage bailout mess, so should the cronyism from his earmarks for Chicago friends and relatives, so should the born alive votes. The sad thing here is that I believe most Obama supporters don't really care. Not about issues, not about policy, not about risk. All the messiah rhetoric has a core of truth to it, in that people are voting for this guy because they WANT to believe. Not because they do, or because they agree with his policy stances. It's that they want the fairy tale ending. They want the hollywood story.

BTW, first post on LGF. Thanks for listening.

593 rumcrook  Mon, Nov 3, 2008 3:53:02pm

every man or women working in the coal industry should be standing outside polls at the legal distance telling people that a vote for obama is a vote to put them (thier nieghbor) out of a job!

re: #76 noshariaincanada

I read it as "Phack Obama" ;)

Heh! But what does פאק (peh-alef-qof) actually mean in Hebrew? "Vote," I'm guessing? Kinda funny that it can be read as a phonetic spelling of "f*ck"!

In my fourth year of college, I bought a fraternity-style T-shirt with the Greek letters ΦΑΓ (Phi Alpha Gamma), which I intended as a play on the word "fag." But one of my Russian teachers -- a native speaker -- thought it was supposed to be "fuck" written in Cyrillic letters. (In Russian speech, фаг tends to sound more or less like "fock," as in Meet the Fockers. A better phonetic spelling for "fag" would be фэг.)
