Allrighty then! Took me four, count 'em four minutes to complete the voting process and that included making sure I had blackened the correct ovals for McCain/Palin, Coleman, the token Republican being sacrificed to McCollum, and against the State Constitutional amendment to voluntarily raise my taxes for "the arts". I spent just as much time at the liquor store afterwards.

And that's my report from Minnesota Precinct ST. PAUL W-4 P-07, the deepest depths of the deep blue sea.

/by the way, what's the deal with Fox News The Eeyore Channel?

the vedanta societyYour text to link... is this old guru/swami cult that's been in hollywood since the 1920s. their temple is also my polling place. i stood in line this morning for about ten minutes. i was the only one not wearing some sort of obama gear. an old man from the cult worked the crowd. he was talking about what a great day it was, how this was a great spiritual moment for the lovers of peace. and kept trying to get people to come to one of their meetings.

the obama drones were very receptive. i guess weak minds are open to anything.

The message I'm getting is that they want me to vote for their guy, instead of McCain.

I really don't think they should portray 0bama, their own candidate, that way, but what can you do?

So many images come to mind: brown shirts, Orwell/1984, Chinese Cultural Revolution… this is a foreshadowing of what America will be like when Obama and the socialists/communists are in charge. Free speech will be shouted down, dissent will be crushed. We may be entering into a “dark age” of politics and free expression. God help us all.

Interesting factoid from PA-
One of the local Philadelphia news stations is running an online poll, asking people who they would vote for. Currently, it's Obama-33%, McCain-30% with the rest saying independent or not voting. This is Philly. I was shocked at how close it was.

Could be an interesting night. Hubby is picking up supplies for our new home defense system on the way home.

On a related note that sign-stealing professor who bragged on Huffpo has resigned.
[Link: www.startribune.com...]

(Minneapolis-St. Paul) A visiting St. Olaf instructor who wrote an online essay about stealing John McCain lawn signs -- "like a ninja under the cover of cloudy Minnesota night" -- has resigned, the Northfield college announced. Philip Busse, a journalist and political activist from Portland, Ore. who taught a media studies course, also will be charged with misdemeanor theft. He could face up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine

31 Outrider  Tue, Nov 4, 2008 12:40:19pm

You think they would ever get the idea that this malicious mischief has the potential to boomerang? People know the owner of the sign didn't stencil it there-hence the opposition party.

Of course the Obamatrons wouldn't think that way, but undecideds? I know for a fact it has worked precisely it has had that effect.

More Democrat voting fraud:

Lawsuit Being Filed Over NH New Voter Registrations

The New Hampshire Republican State Committee is filing a lawsuit against the New Hampshire Secretary of State, William Gardner, claiming that Republican election officials are purposefuly being kept away from new registration tables. Both Republicans and Democrats appoint election officials to ensure that neither party tries to tamper with votes or registration.

“The problem is that our observers in the polling places have been denied reasonable access to the same-day registration tables,” said GOP attorney James Merrill told the Union Leader moments ago.

I wanted to put a new sign indicating that they may have stolen my sign, but not my vote. My DH wouldn't let me since he's traveling this week...he was afraid that we'd have more trouble.

97 Awful Truth  Tue, Nov 4, 2008 12:52:48pm

I haven't heard of any OBAMA signs defaced or stolen. The contrast between the behavior of OBAMA and MCCAIN supporters is the difference between the Far Left and the Silent Majority ... My prediction? The latter will speak very loudly today via the ballot box. Perhaps even in the People's Republic of Maryland where there is a strange lack of OBAMA media planted in neighborhood yards or pasted on cars and whatnot. (Unlike the Kerry blitz four years ago.) I just went to vote and the atmosphere was somber - few smiles, very little talk. We'll find out what it all means by the end of the day.

If that was KYW I doubt that they have a large percentage of black listeners. In fact, I'm pretty sure that they have more suburban listeners than city.

re: #66 CoCo

Halloween night my McCain/Palin sign was stolen from my yard. On Saturday night we watched the Texas/Texas Tech game at a friends home...when we returned we found an Obama sign in my yard. Moonbats would be proud, I promptly placed it in the recycle bin.

I wanted to put a new sign indicating that they may have stolen my sign, but not my vote. My DH wouldn't let me since he's traveling this week...he was afraid that we'd have more trouble.

It's ridiculous that these crazy nuts think that they have to impose their beliefs on others...

It's all about intimidation. Like the thugs in front of the polling place. What can they actually do? They can't see how you vote and you aren't supposed to wear campaign material to the polling place. So it is all psychological intimidation.

Great logic, but if he lets it slip that that's the reason, he'll be on the end of Obama-like discrimination lawsuits.

You can fire someone for their political beliefs and they have no legal protection. There may be an exception in some states (I would guess California but do not know) and they certainly can sue you - but you will win eventually.

Re-posting from a couple of threads down...

A random thought as I see my country changing in front of my eyes...No matter how much tyranny and evil there was in the world, America always represented a refuge, a place to where oppressed people could struggle towards (and I mean politically oppressed, not economically. If you're economically oppressed fix your own damn country - don't bring the burden to us). My mom and dad (with me in tow) were two of those people that fought against totalitarian tyranny and saw America as a shining light that they struggled toward and thankfully were let in. That light is on the verge of being extinguished with the "Fundamental change that America will undergo" under an Obama presidency...change that my mindless fellow citizens have no grasp of the enormity of. When that happens, where will the oppressed of the world turn to...there are no other places left. The West is weak and succumbing to socialism everywhere we look. Saddens me deeply...

Also troubles me deeply that whatever else Obama's shortcomings are...HE HASN'T EARNED THIS! As much as I disliked Hillary, she has been in the fight for many years. This guys done nothing but write 2 books about himself. And at least half of my fellow Americans think that's just fine. We've become an un-serious people and likely will get the government that we deserve.

History is so lacking amongst the young and the ignorant --- Hitler was a member of the National Socialist German Workers Party and was elected Chancellor of the Weimar Republic of Germany in 1933. Yes that is the German "Socialist" party, Obama's Democrat socialist party twin. It was after he formed a ruling coalition, that he was able to seize total control over Germany, with absolute power. Hitler sold the ignorant and down on their luck Germans on the concept that they were the super race -- would rule the world, well at least the part that Japan didn't want for themselves. And as they say, the rest is history.

It's much easier to make ignorant voters, than it is to make informed educated citizens.

Charismatic demagogues litter mankind's history.

However, I also disagree with your final statement. One side of the party line is much more prevalent at silencing critics, stealing/defacing posters, etc. It's bullying tactics--cowardice--any way you look at it.

Just to repeat what happened to me.

4 McCain signs out front on my farm.
A couple of weeks ago I sent a letter to the KC Star, which was published, that was against obama.

Saturday night, someone stole 3 of my signs and stuck around 25 to 30 plastic knives into the ground where the signs were.

Based on the "completely unbiased sampling" of voters interviewed by the MSM today (at random times, various networks) G.. help America.

The dumbing down is evident, the sheer inability to express even basic thoughts using complete words and generally accepted grammar is, well, frightening.

I'm sure this comment would be seen by Ayers et al as evidence of the racism and white supremacy he so firmly believes in and uses to indoctrinate students in the Chicago classrooms engaged in the Annenberg Challenge.

America indeed has a great challenge ahead.

Oh I have a pretty good idea. Democrats are younger and more immature. It's not hard to figure out.

The reason we've got a hate crimes law in TX is because of some sloppy swastikas (IIRC) painted on a black church in Dallas. They were painted with a brush, using the same kind of white paint that was at the time being used to repaint the interior of the church. Some passersby (Jews, ironically) said they saw black people painting the swastikas. Of course they didn't want their names publicized. This was after W (he was governor then) wouldn't sign a hate crimes law. The "vandalism" was the impetus to get the law passed and signed.

There Will Be No Peace

Though mild clear weather
Smile again on the shire of your esteem
And its colours come back, the storm has changed you:
You will not forget, ever,
The darkness blotting out hope, the gale
Prophesying your downfall.

Way back, beyond, outside of you are others,
In moonless absences you never heard of,
Who have certainly heard of you,

What have you done to them?
Nothing? Nothing is not an answer:
You will come to believe - how can you help it? -
That you did, you did do something;
You will find yourself wishing you could make them laugh,
You will long for their friendship.

There will be no peace.
Fight back, then, with such courage as you have
And every unchivalrous dodge you know of,
Clear in your conscience on this:
Their cause, if they had one, is nothing to them now;
They hate for hate's sake.

On the defacement topic, what can I say? Not surprising. And think how easy it would have been to put an "S" on all the Obama signs. But we don't do that. Nor does our candidate give the finger to his opponents.

As for the morale, I have never ever seen the media kick it into gear like they have. It is over in their minds, why bother voting... They have hit their apex in skullduggery.

Word in Chicago is spreading: Obama loss is expected. Grant Park rally downgraded to “tens of thousands” instead of the million Obama promised

Here in Chicago, a group of us just got back from doing visibility for McCain here in Boystown on a break from monitoring the polling stations in our neighborhoods. So far, we have not seen any instances of Obama followers intimidating voters or committing any sort of fraud — but are keeping our eyes open. We are all veterans of the Iowa, Texas, and other caucuses, so we know how bad Obama’s followers can be.

The weirdest thing about today is that we honestly see less Obama tee shirts, stickers, and buttons out that we saw Kerry stuff in 2004. We spotted two black people in Obama tee shirts and a 60-something white hippy woman with long gray hair wearing about 57 Obama buttons (one for every state), but that’s about it. Spotted one McCain tee shirt and one pink Palin shirt though.

The best part: SAW THREE PEOPLE IN HILLARY CLINTON TEES.

Honestly, you would really not know there was even an election going on. There is no excitement in the air here in Chicago. Our polling stations are in a neighborhood heavily populated with young professionals and college kids — supposedly Obama’s demorgraphic. Both polling places near us have not been busy all day. There was never a line, and inside the room there are about 35 poll workers and monitors, with something like 25-30 voting booths, and at most we’ve seen 6 of them occupied at a time.

Where is Obama’s “youth army”?

Or, are they all going to come in 10 minutes before polls close to overwhelm the room, like they did in Iowa for the caucus?

You can tell the Obama supporters on the street, though. They look really worried. Word’s spreading fast here that Obama’s going to lose — the big Reifenstahl-styled rally Obama planned for Grant Park has been downgraded, according to police we know. Instead of one million people coming out to hear his concession speech tonight, the city is now expecting only “tens of thousands”. The world’s biggest celebrity doesn’t seem to be drawing the crowd he hoped.

More later when we get the chance — back to our stations — another four hours or so until polls close here.

If turnout and excitement for Obama are as dismal in the rest of the city as they are in Boystown, this could be a VERY bad night for Dear Leader.

North Charleston, 28th Precinct (@ my college).

I left work early to go vote and handle some schoolwork (used a 1/2 day of vacation time). As I was arriving at my polling place, no defaced signs or Black Panthers; just a dude with a bunch of flyers/leaflets saying "ELECT BARACK OBAMA...". I told said dude that I wasn't interested in what he had to say, but that I was voting. I went in, noted the poll watcher, and pointed out to her that the dude was standing outside the parking lot near the polling area. I was concerned about the "100-ft. limit" (the poll watcher said it was 200 ft. here).

Went fairly smoothly. Had a first-time voter in front of me who had to fill out a "provisional ballot" because she had recently moved out of county. (She thought you "should be able to vote anywhere...just vote." One of the poll workers and I explained that it was basically to keep people from voting for the same person in two different counties ["voting twice"])I was #183 on the sign-up list (we had to show ID and voter registration card), and after a few minutes, I went and voted.

For President: McPal :)

US Rep: I decided that Henry Brown could keep his job. He initially voted against the bailout, so I'll give him another chance. That, and I didn't know a damn thing about Ketner(Brown's opponent)--except that her billboard has DEMOCRAT in the smallest font size. Why hide? What else is there...?

Senate: I elected to fire Lindsey Graham for voting for the bailout, so unfortunately, one Democrat did get my vote.

Voted R for county council and CCSD North Area. Left the rest blank.

Got my I Voted/Palmetto Project sticker, then shuffled on home. :)

...feels great to be an American.

They are very funny indeed.

I made sure to thank everyone who was working there. I don't like that the list of presidential candidates started with Obama and had McCain/Palin third but they claim it's a random thing so... I don't want to sound like an alarmist or anything, but I'm not so sure this whole President Obama thing is going to turn out OK.

I mean, not that I read anything about it in the mainstream liberal media, but what if it turns out this guy has no relevant experience? What if he turns out to be some kind of socialist? What if we find out he was up to his neck in that Chicago corruption we've all heard rumors about? What if all those dictators don't want to talk to him after all? What if he really does raise our taxes? What if he does start printing money like crazy? What if he does actually clamp down on the free press? What if he really did promise the Palestinians he would cut off Israel? What if he really does pull all the troops out of Iraq and the place falls to shit again?

Nah, what am I worried about? He promised change and hope, after all!

well i just showed the picture of the "hitler" and the video of the black panthers to my armenian coworker she is freaked out,, she keeps saying oh my godness - this cannot happen in America, this is scary,, her grandmother who is in armenia keeps calling to see if obama really has won because all the russian tv stations are saying he is/will be the president and the grandmother says she will only visit her grandaughert once more here in America if obama wins,, also and i think this is very telling,, my coworker is a legal immigrant along with her husband and some other friends, she was saying just now, what is this, obama gonna give everybody driver license and green card, how can this be,, i said yes, that is what he say, it is not right at all, just think how much things you (meaning the armenians) had to go thru to get your legal visa and work cards and everything else, it took them over a year but they are now all proud Americans, but not citizens YET

This is what Democrats don't seem to get: if Obama really is such a transcendent miraculous piece of political awesomeness, you wouldn't need to cheat to get him elected. If his policies really were so wonderful and persuasive, it wouldn't even be a contest. The fact that you have to have a nationwide fraud effort to get him votes tells you all you need to know about the alleged appeal of The One.

Whoa! What the guy said is that he "decided to come back to vote" a couple times. I didn't hear that as voting a couple times, but instead deciding to come back (they were discussing the long lines) a couple times.

The CNN guy heard it differently however.

It is still amazing to me however how many people say "Change" when asked why they are voting for Obama. Brain wash much? Do they not see that they are simply parroting what has been propagandized into their heads? Definition of Sheeple.

re: #183 eschew_obfuscation

LINKY?

From the SomethingAwful review of the worst movies ever made;

Ilsa - She Wolf of the SS - Part One

Overview: It would be difficult to think of a premise more repulsive than the one around which "Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS" is based. The film is a brutal depiction of daily life in a concentration camp where medical experiments are conducted. The catch is that they are medical experiments that usually somehow relate to bizarre sexual torture. Did I mention that the head of the camp is Ilsa, an aging blond SS dominatrix with a nymphomaniac bent? If you're in the fortunate group of people who have never heard of this film let it be known that it is about as sexy as walking in on your grandpa giving himself an enema. If you're still not convinced, there is a scene in which Ilsa weeps while urinating on an SS general's chest, in a dining room, that's decorated with hung Jewish women. Keep in mind that this movie is technically not pornography, although I wouldn't consider it of a higher class than say, a movie about freezing turds and using them as dildos. I hope my review of this film can dissuade you from ever wanting to see it, because honestly it makes "The 120 Days of Sodom" look like "Bed Knobs and Broomsticks".

Directed By: Don Edmands (1974)

The Case For: There is a lot of nudity and not all of it is related to torture. Some of the Nazi uniforms are not horribly done.

The Case Against: The movie is a stunningly tasteless parade of sexualized violence against women, awful dialogue, questionable cinematography and editing, and the occasional pathetic attempt at serious content. Ilsa also looks like a grandma, and she's the person who is probably naked the most in the movie.

Don't threaten the venerable hamsters. They are exceptional in fulfilling their roles and their service.

For all slow or lazy hamsters, as a bit of an incentive to continue running FAST:-

HAMSTER PASTIES:-

140 gm Hamster meat cubed
100 gm sliced potato
100 gm sliced swede
50 gm diced onions
30 gm smoked bacon (kosher bacon for our Jewish lizards!)
15 gm Chopped hazelnuts (stolen from the hamsters previously)
75 gm butter
5 gm parsley
A good pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
Beaten egg

Egg wash edges of pastry circles and place the potato, swede hazelnuts parsley and seasoning on each circle followed b the bacon hamster meat and finally the onion.
Place the butter in each pastie then fold over the pastie and crimp the edges
Put the pasties on a greaseproof baking tray, egg wash both pasties well, place in a pre-heated over at 180C (that's 360F for you yanks (generic term not to offend the southerners in here!)or gas mark #5, Bake for 45-50 minutes. Juices should to start to boil and the pasties should be able to move on the tray with ease.

EAT with the normal beer chaser!

Yummm!

Yeah, my German buddies would be disappointed if they met an effete American liberal. These guys are farmers and woodsmen. We drink beer not wine coolers. We drink Asbach Urault when we want to get a head wrong.

We don't discuss politics much, but one good friend of mine is definitely conservative, and many more would be too, if they understood that would mean less taxes that they pay. They get taxed coming and going, holy shit.

St. Olaf College has apparently asked for, and gotten, the resignation of a professor there who boasted last week on the Huffington Post that he has stolen McCain yard signs.

The professor was not tenured (I think he was visiting status), but I am so glad that St. Olaf recognized that criminal behavior is not academic freedom of speech. (Not all schools do.)

If he was across town at Carleton, he probably would have been offered tenure. ;-)

re: #334 Iron Fist

Yeah, that sounds prudent One thing that I note is that Obama hasn't said a thing to discourage his followers from comitting violence. If he said anything I missed it in the middle of all the talk about riots if he loses.

Well, let's see. Obama's biggest hero in life was a devoted fan of the PLO and the Nation of Islam. His main political mentor was a man who murdered dozens of Americans and wanted to kill 25 million more as he violently overthrew the American government. And his own personal messages to his supporters was "get in their face."

Yeah, I'm not seeing a whole lot of pacifism there.

Come on. Watch the clip. The reporter was pretty clearly baffled by what the guy had just said.

Idiot voter: "I'm gonna try to come back and vote a couple of times."
CNN dude: "I think that's against the law, but that's okay."

Doesn't take a genius to watch it and see that the reporter is essentially telling him "whatever, nut."

I have to say, I watched the clip. What I thought the guy was referring to was that the line was long, so a "couple of times" he came back to try to get into a shorter line to vote. I did not take him to mean that he voted a couple of times, but that he returned to the polling place a couple of times.

383 Ruthless  Tue, Nov 4, 2008 1:32:43pm

These attacks on McCain signs are not a joke. I reported a couple of weeks ago how my McCain sign was vandalized along with my house. The vandals squirted ketchup, mustard and honey all over my driveway and on the front of my house (they must have raided the nearest Denny's before setting out to do their work). The policeman who came to report the incident said that this was terrorism. He had been a Marine who served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, so he probably knows terrorism when he sees it.

But the bad part of it is that terrorism, even at this low level, works. My wife is mentally ill and became quite agitated about this attack. I had volunteered to help drive voters to the polls and after the attack she made me withdraw. She told me I could not wear my McCain cap in public. And today, the final result of the terrorism, low level though it was, paid off for the enemy. My wife, who is 67, hardly slept last night fearing the coming visit to the polls today. And, in the end she was too frightened to go and vote, much as I tried to convince her. Yes, terrorism works.

Here's some more: At the time my house was vandalized the police in nearby Albuquerque were quoted by a McCain campaign worker as saying they believed that the Obama campaign was paying people to steal or vandalize McCain signs. About a thousand had been stolen, and the McCain field supervisor told me that some Obama supporters showed up at a McCain rally with big blankets made up of McCain signs that had been sewed together. The local press, however, covered the story by reporting on Obama signs that had been vandalized, about 30 of them in total.

Just so you know that Ayers-style politics, a.k.a. terrorism, works.

OT: Nice market rally today. How much do you think it will drop tomorrow if Obama wins?

I say 750 points.

Unlikely. The market doesn't seem to favor one candidate over the other. What it does favor is certainty over uncertainty. Today's rally is more likely due to the perception that Obama will win - not that the market loves Obama, just that it hates uncertainty. It's also due to further thawing in the credit markets, which appear quite healthy compared to just a couple of weeks ago.

A crash would be caused by a toss-up, if anything, or by squabbling over contested votes that threatens to delay a conclusion to the election.

Mostly, though, investors are just happy the election is over. A solid win - by either candidate - will probably give stocks another boost tomorrow, in the absence of any actual news that moves the markets.

Think about what you're saying: That the Democratic party, starting back in the 1990s, began engineering a market crash that would coincide with the election of a man who wasn't even in public office at the time. And they timed it to happen just before the vote.

Just because "sometimes things are not what they appear" does not equate to "things are never as they appear".

Sometimes things are jolly well as they appear.

Another thought: Where I voted today in Massachusetts, I had to slip my filled-out ballot into a little machine that looked like a fax, and had electrically driven rollers. While it was going in, anyone in the immediate vicinity could see who and what I voted for. And I could see the votes of the people ahead of me. There was a sign on the wall somewhere that literally said "privacy available upon request." I swear to God, that's what it said.

Would I have voted differently if there were DNC thugs looking over my shoulder to see who I voted for, and Black Panther thugs waiting for me at the door with nighsticks, as there probably were at certain Boston precincts? Maybe not, but I would have walked to my car a hell of a lot quicker, and I'm sure that a lot of votes would indeed have been cast the other way out of personal fear.

Well, I was using firefox until yesterday. For some reason, I thought I would simply just try safari. So I downloaded it.

There are features at firefox that I like better than safari - but I have yet to get the whirling whirling twirling ball of death. This page is loading and refreshing just fine, even if just a teensy bit slow.

I downloaded Safari this morning I can't even get it to connect to the start page. All I get is can't connect to the server page. Anyone no what might be causing that Firefox and IE both work just fine.

re: #360 reine.de.tout

I have to say, I watched the clip. What I thought the guy was referring to was that the line was long, so a "couple of times" he came back to try to get into a shorter line to vote. I did not take him to mean that he voted a couple of times, but that he returned to the polling place a couple of times.

You know, you're right. The guy's talking about the line being long, and how he 'came back' later.

He was probably stunned by the CNN guy telling him it was illegal.

Not so here. As a matter of fact, I feel like I'm treated like most every other member in my community, if there is something going on in town I always get an invite and I always make it a point to go. My daughter plays with the little german girls her age and her Deutsch is really quite good.

I've chipped in when my neighbors have needed help and if anyone needs something that I can help with, I'll help.

Consequently, I've needed help a couple of times and I always seem to find it right here where I live.

Germany is a nice country and I find the people to be very nice indeed.

Well, one sign had no fewer than three misspelled words. "Admition" for "admission," "durring" for "during," and "intermition" for "intermission."

Another sign had "concessions" spelled as "consesions."

In addition the grammar on the signs was very bad.

Haven't heard any examples exactly like this, however, there are a multitude of examples where Obama supporters have been the victim of vandalism, all the same:

[Link: www.google.com...]

There are extremists on both sides. You don't need to look very far to see examples of it on the left, but certainly there are examples of it on the right, too. You don't always see it on LGF because Charles bans extremists (well, people who believe Obama's birth certificate is fake or that he might be a muslim, or people who might say nasty things about Obama's grandmother's passing), but they do exist, none-the-less. If they didn't, Charles wouldn't need to ban them.

re: #495 Quad Mocha Matti

The Nazis were "socialist" in name only. There's a lot of irony in their choice of that word. The Nazis were about as extreme right as you can get.

Fascism represents the extreme far right wing, while communism and socialism represent the extreme far left wing. I know it's easy to get tripped up and assume that since the Nazis had "socialist" in their party's name, that they were left wing, but trust me: the fascists and the communists/socialists were on opposite sides of the spectrum.

That's why when a candidate veers far to the left we like to call them a "socialist" and when they veer to the far right they are often called a "nazi."

That was my gut reaction too. Then I looked closely and I think I confirmed my suspicions. Notice the odd "shading" beneath the hairline on the brow - like a 3d effect Then, if were a "stencil" the "black" portions presumably "blocking" the white paint and making up the facial details, should be colored like the sign beneath ? and... The black parts making the facial details wold have to be "free" floating. In other words: not attached to a surrounding "stencil frame." (Zombie: any comments?)

Was this the only "JM/SP" sign vandalized? I would expect one or two more in the more.

Of course, anyone can see that behaviour that wouldn't be mentioned if engaged in at a football game, would be abhorrent if done, lets say , at a friend's house. A standard for plain civility is expected wherever civil people gather. I've lurked here for a long time before sneaking through the door, because such standards appeal to me. The more 'progressive' communities tend toward the harsh, to put it mildly, but that's their bag, I guess.

My own observation puts the ratio of left vs right vandalism and other shenannigans etc. at better than 10 to 1, and that because 20-1 or 100-1 just might seem more like hyperbole, even though accurate. there are provable reasons for this which would take more time and space than I'm willing to grab right now.

Of course not, conservatives have too much not class. Plus we're too busy at work.
