In other Eurofascist news, another member of the Vlaams Belang has been arrested for taking part in the organization of the “Iron Pilgrimage,” a neo-Nazi hatefest that happens every year in Europe: Organizers neo-Nazi concerts arrested. (Auto-translated by Google.)

The federal police today arrested three suspects in connection with an investigation into the organization of a series of neo-Nazi concerts. It reports the federal prosecutor’s office. There are suspects arrested in Antwerp, Bocholt and Gullegem, who also each time a search took place. There were computers and documents seized.

The federal prosecutor has for a longer study of the neo-Nazi concerts in the context of breaches of the antiracismewet. So earlier images were seized by a German undercover journalist made during a concert on April 19 in Bellegem.

Last weekend was the extreme right-wing organization Blood and Honor a new concert in Diksmuide. There were many people checked and agents in civilian clothes was also claimed infringements on the racismewet.

The federal judicial police of Veurne argued Tuesday morning than house searches in Bocholt, Antwerp and Gullegem, with the support of colleagues from Kortrijk. The three persons who were arrested are suspected of the concerts in Diksmuide and Bellegem to have organized.

The Vlaams Belang, as usual, is playing dumb: “Vlaams Belang does not tolerate neo-Nazis.”

If it is true that one of those arrested in the investigation into the organization of concerts by neo-Nazi Blood and Honor a few years ago was a candidate in a local election list of Vlaams Belang, then that person immediately put out the party. Reports that party chairman Bruno Falconers.

“It must be loud and clear that the Vlaams Belang is no place for persons dealing with such organizations and inlets ideas”, says in a statement.

Right. They just seem to keep turning up, for some odd reason. Sheer coincidence.

UPDATE at 11/6/08 8:28:22 pm:

More information on Bruno Valkeniers:

4/3/2008- Bruno Valkeniers was chosen Sunday by 94.6% of the vote to become the new party chairman of the extreme rightwing Vlaams Belang party. Mr Valkeniers succeeds Frank Vanhecke, who was no longer a candidate after being head of Vlaams Belang for twelve years. Bruno Valkeniers was the only candidate for party chair. The mandate is for a period of four years. The new chairman of Vlaams Belang is 52 years old. He was commercial director of a shipping company. In 2006 he went into politics, and has made a fast career in Vlaams Belang. Currently he is in the Antwerp city council and in the Federal Chamber of Deputies. In recent interviews, Mr Valkeniers stressed that he would continue the current party line of the extreme rightwing party.

UPDATE at 11/6/08 9:00:16 pm:

A Translated version of a YouTube video confirms that a Vlaams Belang member was arrested in connection with this vile concert:

3 organizers behind the Blood and Honor concerts in Bellegem and Diksmuide today arrested by the Federal investigation. Among them is a member of Vlaams Belang, which in 2006 stood as a candidate in municipal elections in Bocholt.

I hate Nazis and I relish seeing these scum exposed and discredited. However, there is also a part of me that does not like continental "anti-hate" laws. I'd say let the nuts have their concert and let the protest by same people outnumber the concert goers 10 to 1.

I've never felt badly about not having a black president - nor do I feel happy about having one. It is such a shallow issue. I vote competence and character and Obama's already broken the Rule of Threes.

When considering a new relationship of any kind, practice the Rule of Threes regarding the claims and promises a person makes, and the responsibilities he or she has.

Make the Rule of Threes your personal policy. One lie, one broken promise, or a single neglected responsibility may be a misunderstanding instead. Two may involve a serious mistake. But three lies says you're dealing with a liar, and deceit is the linchpin of conscienceless behavior. Cut your losses and get out as soon as you can. Leaving, though it may be hard, will be easier now than later, and less costly.

Do not give your money, your work, your secrets, or your affection to a three-timer. Your valuable gifts will be wasted.

Question authority.
Once again -- trust your own instincts and anxieties, especially those concerning people who claim that dominating others, violence, war, or some other violation of your conscience is the grand solution to some problem. Do this even when, or especially when, everyone around you has completely stopped questioning authority. Recite to yourself what Stanley Milgram taught us about obedience. (At least six out of ten people will blindly obey a present, official-looking authority to the bitter end.) The good news is that having social support makes people somewhat more likely to challenge authority. Encourage those around you to question, too.

Never agree, out of pity or for any other reason, to help a sociopath conceal his or her true character.

"Please don't tell," often spoken tearfully and with great gnashing of teeth, is the trademark plea of thieves, child abusers-- and sociopaths. Do not listen to this siren-song. Other people deserve to be warned more than sociopaths deserve to have you keep their secrets.

If someone without conscience insists that you "owe" him or her, recall what you are about to read here-- that "You owe me" has been the standard line of sociopaths for thousands of years, quite literally, and is still so. It is what Rasputin told the Empress of Russia. It is what Hannah's father implied to her, after her eye-opening conversation with him at the prison.

We tend to experience "You owe me" as a compelling claim, but it is simply not true. Do not listen. Also, ignore the one that goes, "You are just like me." You are not.

Defend your psyche.
Do not allow someone without conscience, or even a string of such people, to convince you that humanity is a failure. Most human beings do possess conscience. Most human beings are able to love.

Living well is the best revenge.

There are people commenting on that thread telling robert he's correct that have accounts here at LGF such as AlwaysOnWatch, who also posts at the center for vigilant freedom.

I didn't bother reading the comments, as I've stayed away from the comments section of JW threads for almost a year now it seems. It was just the unbelievable chutzpah of Robert claiming that it's Charles who is "behaving despicably" when Charles would NEVER link to a Robert Spencer-stalker blog. Among other things.

I'm not disagreeing whether or not there is a connection. I'm just saying, no one was named in the articles, no reference to Vlaams Belang, or connection implied. Hello? Who are you trying to kid? The Vlaams Belang THEMSELVES are distancing themselves from the member who was arrested. Try reading:

If it is true that one of those arrested in the investigation into the organization of concerts by neo-Nazi Blood and Honor a few years ago was a candidate in a local election list of Vlaams Belang, then that person immediately put out the party.

OT - Wiki now has "time machine" feature.

You can go forward in time!

Case in point - The wiki page for Obamaton lawyer Cass Sunstein.

It has the notation:

That is tomorrow.

Chicago lawyer ...consitutional law ...sound kinda like a president elect we all know ...and this is from Sunstein wiki bio ...

Sunstein's 2004 book, The Second Bill of Rights: FDR's Unfinished Revolution and Why We Need It More than Ever, advocates the Second Bill of Rights proposed by Franklin D. Roosevelt. Among these rights are a right to an education, a right to a home, a right to health care, and a right to protection against monopolies; Sunstein argues that the Second Bill of Rights has had a large international impact and should be revived in the United States. His 2001 book, Republic.com, argued that the Internet may weaken democracy because it allows citizens to isolate themselves within groups that share their own views and experiences, and thus cut themselves off from any information that might challenge their beliefs, a phenomenon known as cyberbalkanization.

With respect, Mr. Spencer is the one who has posted on at least one occasion - I stopped reading Jihad Watch after it - about the rift between Charles and himself.
As he did with Pamela Gellers, Charles has not responded in kind, though he has by far the larger audience. This is to Charles' credit and most definitely to the discredit of both Robert and Pamela.
That these three were friends - indeed, Pamela frequently referred to Charles as her blogfather - crediting him with helping her out with getting her own blog up and running and yet only Charles has refused to "go public" with the statements and summaries of e-mails shows that Charles is not only the True Gentleman here, but, perhaps, the only one of the three who is secure in who he is and in what he believes.

She is an enemy of America and freedom.

The entire purpose of those "Second Bill of Rights" is to completely eviscerate the original bill of rights. These so-called "positive" rights promise paradise, but only deliver slavery. No society with "positive" rights can be considered a free society.

Under all versions of "positive" rights, the government owns your labor. They have first dibs on the fruits of your labor because they, and therefore you, have a constitutional obligation to provide for those who won't provide for themselves... and they must take as much as they need to fulfill those obligations, even if it taxes you down to the poverty level.

It is a sweet siren song, sung by fascists, and savored by the weak and frightened... the childish thinkers of all ages who believe in Santa Claus economics.

"In recent interviews, Mr Valkeniers stressed that he would continue the current party line of the extreme rightwing party."

Haven't they (both members and the press) figured out by now that the Nazis were LEFTIES? National Socialists Workers Party? Such slow learners, they have there. Need some motivation, like hard labor for such stupidity. Arrrggghhh...

The Nazis were hard left on many issues, such as economy and forced authoritarian egalitarianism, and slightly right of center in idealizing German culture. They were predominantly a left of center party, although not as left as labor, and the communists.

VB, is not very left-wing at all though. They aren't socialists. However, their stance on race relations, etc has very little to do with the rest of their policy. The ethnic nationalists, and the free market liberals were both out in the cold, and have formed a coalition. Who can say if the nationalists had their way they wouldn't just be another socialist party.

You do have have to wary of the label of 'right-wing' in lockstep Europress, as you will see out and out socialists get the label for diverting right of center on a single issue.

I'm not saying it's oh okay, what i said was based on the first article linked to nothing was said about names or associations, was there? Looking at the video news report just now linked to, The(News) said that one of the guys was a candidate for city council for Vlaams Belang, but that information wasn't in the original article. I was wondering how Charles made the Headline without anything in the article mentioning any associations.

Insisting on this falsehood over and over is not going to get you anywhere. The Vlaams Belang would not have DENIED they were involved if it hadn't been reported, don't you think?

Dear gods, people can you not see what Charles Johnson has been doing all this time? Can anybody be so dense?

Right after Hussein the Twit's election (oh excuuuse me, President-elect Hussein the Twit), I posted some suggestions---and one of them (running for the school board) involved being sure NOT to be a creationist---mostly because creationism has been a weapon in our opponents' hands. Howard Zinn teaches your children civics because liberals defended Darwin until all the conservatives were gone.

By the same token, every time a racist uses a gas station bathroom in the same quadrant of the city as a conservative, or merely anti-idiotarian gathering, liberal fascists the world over use this as evidence that reasonable people like us go around with sheets in our closets. The whole immigration debate was completely screwed up, and Hispanic voters were alienated from the GOP,because people who were in fact racists were tolerated by conservatives because they opposed amnesty.

There is a war on, folks---and Priority A Number One is to win it. The war has two fronts, and we may completely lose the home front unless we focus, laser-like, on a set of priorities that will win us this war. We need a patriotic civics education for our children a whole damn sight more than introducing them to some idea of a Creator. We need officials who will put a stop to the creep of Sharia more than we need questionable allies for our point of view.

Anti-semitism isn't exactly beyond the pale for polite conversation in a lot of Europe. I've openly been told more than one that the problem with America is 'all the Jews'. That was from Brits as well. I've heard it is worse in France, although I don't speak the language and have never been so I can't say first hand.

The hate speech laws obviously don't extend to day to day conversation. They extend to things like banning concerts. Also, there seems to be a noticable pattern of only prosecuting anti-semites and racists that fit a particular mold.

Anti-semites are a 'class', and those that don't fit that classist distinction of behavior aren't really anti-semites and as such are free to publicly defame Jews. A Chomskyite 'intellectual' or Muslim Dinnerjacket clone aren't really in a lot of danger of being charged with hate speech crimes. The laws are to stifle political speech and opposition, not to actually prevent people from saying bad stuff about anyone.

No, they do speak for most Dutch speakers, they are a large opposition party.
Dutch speaker are the majority, they pay most of the taxes that go to pay for the Walloons (French), expensive social programs, and through their constitution, Walloons hold most of the power and inflict economic pain on the Vlaams people. That is why they've had a constitutional crisis, because the Vlaams (Flemish) people have had enough of paying for entitlement programs they do not qualify for based on where they live. That is the only reason Vlaams Belang hold such favor with the general (Flemish) population, not because of the Neo-Nazi crap, they are the only ones, rightly or wrongly, that speak for the Flemish. Do I wish another party spoke for the Flemish people, DAMN Straight, but no one is, that's the problem.

re: #181 RememberSekhmet?

To use a football analogy, I see us having to start a drive from our 2 yard line with 98 to go just to score our first TD. We can't run a strategy that requires better field position. We need short, high impact efforts to get us to better field position.

This last summer we had the drilling issue which served as a solid example where the left was wrong and we were right.

FWIW, I think that effective counter attacks on the liberals at this point should focus on their morality. Not "do they conform to our morality" but rather where we expose their moral value system and force them to make it explicit. Their morals do not match Americas. I am not talking about sexual or even social morality - I am talking about their political morality.

Take coal - Obama said that coal should go away "as an ideological matter" in that tape that got out last week. The left finds carbon emissions as offensive as public masturbation. They should be forced to declare that. Right now they try to construct pragmatic arguments related to "transforming to a clean economy" and whatnot. But Obama said in the tape that clean coal didn't matter - they believe anyone who is pro carbon (even as a transition strategy) is morally inferior. we need to paint them into the corner of absolutism and purity on a practical matter, and do it while people are trying to pay their heating bill.

They have painted the right is rigid ideologues. Turnabout is fair play and can be done on discreet issues that we can win on and they lose on, and every loss introduces doubt in the minds of most Americans about their competence to lead.

Yeah, 2001 easily still looks like it's in the future, even today. The technology all looks authenticly in-the-future, despite the fact that the year it was set in has already come and gone.

Ironically, 2010 actually looks less authentically-future. You can see all the displays aboard the (reconstructed) Discover sets look like 1980s-era CRT screens, whereas the same screens in the "same" set in 2001 look like some other kind of more futuristic tech. It's the fact that in the earlier film, the screens are all flat like plate-glass (becaue they were actually all rear-projected cine screens masquerading as display hardware), and are different shapes, while in the sequel they're all clearly "boob tubes" and have a uniformly CRT aspect ratio.

For some reason, (I think I'll blame LBJ), many American's equate racism and anti-semitism with the Republican Party because they are "right wing" --like the whacko's in Europe.

American political history is not taught in schools, so most of today's voters don't realize that the KKK hated Republicans as much as Jews, Blacks, Catholics . . .. They don't know that it was a minority of Southern Democrats who disenfranchised black voters in the South, while using their numbers to maintain control of Congress for several decades. They don't know that it was a Republican Eisenhower that sent the troops to make sure black kids got to attend the Little Rock High School. I can go on and on.

Ah well, I want to be careful not to paint with too broad a brush here, but Obama's anti-Israel and Pro-Palestinians were well known LONG before election day; manifestly a lot of Jewish voters voted for Obama anyway because in some strange way that I cannot fathom, there is a sort of disconnect between some American Jews and the State of Israel.

It's mostly a disconnect between liberal brains and rational thought.

Like most liberals, Jewish liberals believe that peace for Israel would be possible if only someone would "knock heads together" (Israel and her enemies) so that they would sit down for an hour and come up with a complete peace agreement that would make the entire universe overflowing with peace.

Liberals are in love with their own thoughts as they view themselves as wanting peace and love and flowers and kittens for the entire universe.

They refuse to believe that Israel's enemies only want Israel dead.

So they think that a nice radical lefty like Obambi can get the parties to sit in a room and it will be bursting with peace and love in no time. They believe that Arabs will tearfully say, "Jews are such nice people! What were we thinking?!?!? Obama has shown us that Jews are wonderful people and we are lucky to live near them. We want the security fence taken down so that we can hug them every day for the rest of our lives! Who needs terrorism?!? We were just being silly. No more!"

Liberals are too in love with their own thoughts and their own visions of their incredibly moral selves (or so they think) to understand that they can't will peace to happen by wanting it really, really, really, really badly (and by refusing to accept that there isn't peace.)

Jewish liberals in Israel do the same thing. It's sad, but the Israeli voters are seeing through it now. They know for a fact that if you give Jewish land to "Palestinians," the "Palestinians" use it to launch rockets at Jewish men, women and children.

Hamas once fired something like 200 rockets on the first day of school in Sderot during a time when children would be walking to school (so that they had no coverage whatsoever between home and school.) Luckily, no children were killed on that day, as I recall.

The Hamas message to these young Jewish children: "Happy New School Year."

Liberals think that Israel just needs to sit down with these guys.

It's crazy.

There were actually two major spacecraft in the movie 2010. One was the Russian ship, used to bring the astronauts and cosmonauts out to Jupiter to help salvage the NASA manned vessel Discovery, and the other ship, obviously, was the Discovery itself.

It makes sense that the Russian ship would be using CRTs all over the place, the Russians after all were technologically a bit behind us. But in 2001 it was established that the Discovery was outfitted with thin-screen monitors akin to today's LCD screens. Yet in 2010 those same screens were clearly CRTs.

In any event, the scene you've linked to here is clearly aboard the Russian ship.

Have you ever seen the movie F.I.S.T. with Sylvester Stallone? He was up against the wall and didn't want to bring in the mob, but felt he had no choice if he wanted to win. He soon realized he made a bad decision but couldn't get rid of the mob and paid for it with his life in the end. We need a better option to fight Sharia, so who?

We need to somehow find a way to "activate the anti-Islamofascist nanocode sequences" (Atlantis reference) of the feminists and LLL'ers.

Of course. The danger of developing and using radical techniques is that those same radical techniques can be used against their originators.

re: #319 theblakester

I said this earlier and I'll post it again as some food for thought you might want to give some time to:

They see the conflict as a religious war. I don't- it's an ideological war. islam is an ideology masked as a religion. The ideology of islam is fascist- you therefore cannot defeat it by clubbing it with it's twin.

But because they don't see it as ideological, but rather religious, this makes it easier for them. Because thinking of it in terms of ideology means they would have to think, and think deeply about political science. If they did that, they would have to admit their politics is no different than the islamists. It's much easier to couch it in terms of a religious war so they can mask their fascism- whose tool of scapegoating the "other" is key to them gaining power.

These so-called intellectual giants are anything but- they are cowards, afraid to look deeper into themselves and their thought process for fear that what they might find inside them so closely resembles that in which they claim to oppose.

Well, it's obvious why turkey breast isn't a satisfactory substitute for a big thick steak, but I don't understand Cognito's animus towards "turkey spaghetti." I assume that means ground turkey replacing ground beef in the spaghetti sauce (or in meatballs), and personally I think ground turkey works great for this. re: #181 RememberSekhmet?

Great post. Conservatives really need to rethink what their core ideas are in order to appeal to as large a coalition as possible. I can tell you from experience that creationism is probably the greatest reason that many ill-informed liberals shun conservatives.

Nice obfuscation!

Not trying to obfuscate, just read it as it was written, without reading anything into it.

I don't make apologies for Neo-Nazis, I wish they'd disappear for ever. I know Vlaams Belang comes from a very shady start, but from what I've read, they are trying to go main stream. Just like the party of segregation and the KKK in America, the Democrats. Vlaams Belang has a long way to go in cleaning up their act.

But their appeal to the Flemish population is that, in extremely Liberal, socialistic Belgium, and Europe in general, they are, unfortunately, the only ones speaking up for the little guy against the Islamification of "their" country. That's it, no apologies, I can understand where the Flemish are coming from, don't agree with the party, but I do with the people, that's all I meant.

If you think the Flemish should roll over and die, because NO ONE ELSE (except Vlaams Belang) speaks for them, then we'll have to disagree.
I think, that they are thinking, any port in a storm. Whether I, or you, like the port they chose, doesn't matter to them. Help is help I suppose.

Speaking at a forum about race and religion, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright accused the media of taking out of context videotaped clips that showed him making anti-American statements from the pulpit of the Chicago church where Obama had worshipped for 20 years.

Out of context. It's always out of context with some precending sentence or two.

Reverend Wright, let's put what you said in a MUCH larger context. The context of history and the knowledge that gives up about the habits of hate mongers of all skin tones.

Hey rw! How ya' doin'?

History is taught by the victors.

Unfortunately, Republicans and Fundamentalists were tainted by some TV preachers back in the 1980s and maybe 1990s. I forget their names, but they gave liberals (like me) the impression that they were nuts. Who was the husband of the lady with the foot-long eyelashes? That guy.

That's why it took so long for people like me (life-long liberals) to shake off our fear of leaving the circle. I didn't want to be associated with nutty people. Any attempt to increase the conservative base in the blue regions needs to keep this in mind.

BTW re Rahm Emanuel. At first I thought he might be OK, but I learned tonight that he was on the board of Freddie Mac. I think Obama is assembling a coalition of crooks for his new government. The fact that Emil Jones, Obama's sponsor in the Illinois legislature, is being considered for Illinois Senator, makes me think that we should be watching a coalition of big time thieves emerging. This era is going to be the Gilded Age times a Thousand. There are billions of taxpayers' dollars for the taking.

Besides which, the break in itself wasn't the story - it was Nixon's giving the green light to the break in, then denying he did so, then having his personal secretary Rosemary Woods delete 17 and a half minutes of tape that was the story.
(wonders to himself how he can remember that but can't remember what he ate for breakfast this morning!).

You are obfuscating, sir. No one here thinks the Flemish should roll over and die. What we are saying is that they should found a new party that favors freedom not fascism. Fascists do not provide real help. They destroy help, hope, and decency, just like all other totalitarians. The Flemish must put their trust a freedom oriented party, not another European party of government power.

Not trying to obfuscate, just read it as it was written, without reading anything into it.

OK, so let's recap.

re: #38 Johnny Canuck

I read both articles. How did anyone come to the conclusion that this has anything to do with Vlaams Belang?

re: #68 Johnny Canuck

I'm not apologizing for anything, merely stating that the articles said nothing about Vlaams Belang.

re: #91 Johnny Canuck

I'm just saying, no one was named in the articles, no reference to Vlaams Belang, or connection implied. I'm just wondering why the headline says " Vlaams Belang member arrested for organizing Neo-Nazi Concert" when neither article in Dutch or English mentions any names or associations

re: #154 Johnny Canuck

I was wondering how Charles made the Headline without anything in the article mentioning any associations.

re: #166 Johnny Canuck

Yes, there was a link in the video, the arrested guy ran for Vlaams Belang in a city council. Your right, now I'm wrong. But nothing in the original article at the top of the page made that link, that is what I was talking about.

re: #203 Johnny Canuck

Yes, I initially hadn't read the second article, just the first.

This is not Soviet Russia, where people ate boiled shoes and turkey spaghetti. This is not Middelburg under seige, where, when the gold ran out, people made coins from leather, and then ate the coins when the meat ran out. And then ate turkey spaghetti when the leather ran out.

re: #385 Adina in Judea

I think they can, look at American History. The Democrats were the party of segregation and the KKK, and you just elected their man to be President. As it stands now, Vlaams Belang has a lot of cleaning up to do. I don't support any of them, but the Flemish, who have no one else to speak for them are supporting them. I think given the circumstances, I can understand where they are coming from, don't agree with it, but do understand it.

I understand that the Flemish are watching their country, their culture and their future being flushed down the Islamic toilet, and they are looking for any support they can get. that's all, their pleading for help, and someone showed up. As offensive as it may be to some peoples sensibilities and their personal opinion, I don't condemn some one for reaching for help. Just think about the Flemish people, put yourself in their position, without all the prejudices, and think, would you accept help, or would you rather die?

437 Randall Gross  Thu, Nov 6, 2008 10:19:35pm

btw: The Iron Pilgrimage happens every August, but the other Flemish Nationalist groups weren't radical enough for VB, so they forced a split. The original group still hosts Ijzerbedevaart, and the VB version is Ijzerwake. Here's a note about a past one, right before the split in 2003:
[Link: dspace.dial.pipex.com...]

At one point a little speech was made and everyone started clapping and cheering, for at the back of the hall Frank Vanhecke had appeared. He's the new 37 year old president of Vlaams Blok. Everyone was happy when he was appointed as there's always a fear when a new leader is needed that the party in question might lose it's radical edge. With Mr. Vanhecke there is no need to worry! As one Flemish Comrade said - he's no Fini (Italian 'Nationalist' turned soft liberal)!

STUDENTS
There were a group of Flemish students sitting next to and opposite us and we quickly made friends, scribbled greetings in their song books (apparently it's the done thing) and joined in the songs with them (at this point I should mention that one of our number joined in slightly more than the rest of us, though he claims the beer had nothing to do with it!). All in all it was a superb night with no trouble despite all the drinking songs and table stomping! There was a family atmosphere and the stewards had little to worry them. There was talk at one stage of Ranting Ron being near the bar, but if he was, he certainly didn't get a round in!
The next morning we were up bright and breezy - well some of us were a little brighter and breezier than others! And we set off for the same hall where we were due to set up stall. It was all well laid out with stalls there from Voorpost and Vlaams Blok from Flanders, CP'86 from the Netherlands, the JN from Germany and other smaller stalls selling CDs, T-Shirts etc.

Our stall looked good with The Voice of St. George around the front and side of it. We had a leaflet produced with the Flemish text from page 3 of FC10 along with some excellent artwork which went down very well and we gave out a lot of propaganda and sold a lot of FCs, Gazeta de Vests and booklets like Political Soldier and A Third Positionist Reader. We also gave out materials from our Comrades in Italy (MSFT), Romania (GdV) and Poland (NOP) to various organisers and activists from different countries.

The secular progressive base of the Democratic party is all about people looking different, so long as they all act and think the same. We aren't really going to be able to get Evangelicals to go "crypto-Christian", nor should we concede to urban bigotry because it is 'creepy'.

That was Jim Bakker, and yeah he was a nut and a crook. Not all Evangelicals are like him. While many of them might seem like nuts from a bluestate view, it is just an image thing. The putting down of Evangelicals, Catholics etc, here in my little blue state is often nothing more than religious bigotry.

The secular progressive base of the Democratic party is all about people looking different, so long as they all act and think the same. We aren't really going to be able to get Evangelicals to go "crypto-Christian", nor should we concede to urban bigotry because it is 'creepy'.

Bakker has moved his act to my neck of the woods, Branson, Mo., and does a TV show similar to the PTL Club he and Tammy Fay used to do. Tammy Fay died, and his current wife looks just like her, although she doesn't put on her make-up with a putty knife like Tammy Fay.

I know, but the point is they haven't, their going with who they think will help them, can you not see it, even for a second, from their point of view.

Entirely off-topic, but I used to have a voice student who confused the words "riff" and "rift". I sang riffs, she sang "rifts". I tried to make sure she understood the word I was using without embarrassing her, until one day I made up an excuse to write it on some lyric sheet she was using.

He throws in so much equivocation after everything he claims, that one can find a lot to tangentially try to defend him by, if one really has trust in him and doesn't want to be disillusioned.

The difference is that when someone like you sees the evidence, they drop whoever it may be when warranted. When Spencer, Pamela and GOV were repeatedly presented with evidence, they just shut their ears tight and started screeching "la la la la!"

I've been discussing this with some folks on HotAir. Ironically, he was concerned that Republicans would force him into civil service.

Here, he discusses a Newsweek chat on the topic that he was involved in, with Jonathan Alter:

[Link: www.popandpolitics.com...]

Very interesting article; Emmanuel wrote a book and outlined this plan years ago. Alter said it would be to deal with the Iranian threat, because sanctions would be too harsh on the Iranian people.

I have been wondering all night how many of the people in this age group that voted for Obama - a good many - had any idea this was his plan. I don't think eating Doritos and playing Rock Band are what the administration has in mind for civil service.

How can a dog be asleep upstairs in a room with the TV on and hear the refridgerator door open downstairs?

Well, I don't have an upstairs/downstairs, but my Cobber can tell when I open the fridge and get out a snack that we sometimes share (string cheese, sliced ham, and so forth). He generally ignores a trip to the freezer for more ice, but will be there before I can turn around if it's something he usually shares.

You say there are no other parties, you lie. Everytime anyone starts gaining who is moderate and not white nationalist they get ripped to shreds by VB who should be their putative allies. For instance when other nationalist groups used to speak at Ijzerbedevaart VB would blow horns and whistles throughout so none could hear them, and there have been a couple of stage clearing riots when other groups who were gaining popularity in Flanders took the stage.
They are putting a thin veneer on only, as all of the nationalist groups including the white supremacist groups in the US did from 2000 -- 2004. Don't believe me? Here's VNN bitching out Nick Griffen for dumping the anti-semite planks, and his allies saying don't worry, he's still a white supremacist.

ah! Hey Walter, how's life in Golden this week?

Chilly. Going down to about 28 tonight. About 30 right now. We had our preview for our Christmas show tonight. It's a musical, based on two O. Henry stories. "The Last Leaf" and (of course) "The Gift of the Magi." The show opens tomorrow (Friday).

Sunday and Monday, we have Roger McGuinn (of the Byrds) in for two concerts. We can seat 130, tickets are 45.00 each, sold out. It's going to be a bit of a bitch babysitting him. I mean, he's 40 years out from his career, yet his contract covers him as if he is John Lennon reincarnate.

This coming Wednesday, the Colorado Theatre Guild is sponsoring a public reading of my newest play "Appearances," based on Joanne Greenberg's newest novel. Public reading are sort of the first step toward tweeking a script and working out the kinks.

Sorry to disagree with you Tigger, but the fact is that, with the conivence of the MSM, Obama and his gang will be able to blame EVERYTHING on George Bush for at least two years.
After that, when working folks suddenly realize that more - significantly more - money is being withheld from their paychecks because Obama kept a campaign promise and let the Bush Tax Cuts lapse, then MAYBE the American Electorate will wake up.
Course, then again, by the time they do, I'm quite certain Obama and the Dems' will have a one Billion dollar warchest with which to rent America again in 2010 and perhaps many more dollars than that with which to buy America in 2012.

If every citizen of the USA (excluding the Donks themselves, of course) realizes what the Donks are doing and turns against them en masse, no voter fraud in the world can keep the Donks in office.

OK. For every idea proposed to fight the takeover of socialism, someone raises an objection. But we need a strategy, people. We need an agreed on course of action, so we can act in concert. I know we are and will be working individually in our own ways, but it won't be enough. I know we need another leader like Reagan, but none is on the horizon. So we must be our own leaders and motivators.

All I know is, I am already feeling, psychologically and physically, the chains of socialism around my neck. I have had a stiff neck these past two days. There is no physical cause for it. I just cannot live without freedom, and one way or another, I will not.

That my whole point! If not them then who? It sure isn't any group I see on the horizon fighting Sharia!. They are all apologists and appeasers. Anyone that will stand up against Sharia will be labeled a racist or bigot of some sorts.

Late to this thread - and just a quick drive-by post, but as 'euroweenie' I now gotta say something!

Ffs - look at who it is that is doing the labelling!
Look at who it is that has been trying their damnedest to tar someone like Geert Wilders with the same brush, like 'populist', therefore 'hater', therefore 'racist'!

After the election you've just been through, you can - or ought to! - see quite clearly for yourselves who the labellers are, can't you. I'm not foing to point this out - you can start thinking for yourself for a change.

We've been talking long and often here on lgf about how closely related both neo-nazies and the socialists/communists are.
It is a sad fact that the conservative parties across the world have been trying their best not to be smeared by these LLL accusations.

It now must be the task for all conservatives everywhere to distinguish between leftist propaganda and what is true and despicable racism, and it must be clear both from the example of Geert Wilders and Sarah Palin that the conservative elites are incapable of doing so, because they are fearful of losing their standing, prestige and yes, dosh, if they actully listen to the people.
The socialists, while saying they listen to the people, ahve more in common with the conservative elite in regard to clinging to their money and prestige.

That is indeed how such despicable neo-nazi scum can get itself established, in Europe right now, but if youa re not careful then it could also happen in your country.
This is dead serious - but giving up is not an option.
And setting up a totally false choice between submitting to Islam or choosing neo-nazis is not an option either.
I for one refuse to do so - and I for one will look very carefully indeed at anything which hints - even if its just careless thinking - at totalitarian thoughts and/or solutions.

We got to use our brains - if Geert Wilders can do it, why not others?
Are we all that stupid?
I think not!

Maybe I'm missing something here, but shouldn't there be outrage that people are getting arrested for "organizing a concert" in Europe?
I know one of the big divides between the USA and Europe is the constitutional guaranty of freedom of political expression, but the comments here seem to be bogged down on what appears clear to most people (the racist / Vlams Belang connection).

The arrest of these guys (even though I'm certain they're being fairly arrested for breaking the law in their jurisdiction) is a travesty. This should merit far more criticism than the racists themselves, as without freedom of expression, these idiots will not be seen for what they are.

I read through several hundred comments and saw a lot of back and forth about who was what, but little condemnation of the suppression of free speech in Europe. I could be missing it.

605 Sharmuta  Fri, Nov 7, 2008 2:28:30am

re: #604 fooburger

While europe's free speech laws are troubling and another item on the list of problematic issues in european politics, the point of this thread wasn't free speech laws in europe. The point was rather that one of the political parties continues to have members involved in neo-nazi activities because of the support this political party has with some bloggers and one noted author, all of whom want to take issue with Charles because of his lack of support. Now, if these laws were not in place, this political party would certainly be more open in their intentions and perhaps these bloggers and the noted author wouldn't be supporting them since it's the law that keeps this party shrouded in obfuscation. However, it should be clear enough by such continuing member activities (as well as other continuing and problematic indicators) with neo-nazis exactly what this party is really promoting.

I expect more of these apologists to come out of the woodwork, by the way, since Spencer has posted another vicious attack piece at his site.

Charles,

I see that Jihad Watch and Atlas Shrugs are listed on PJ Media's blogroll. Is this beyond your control or is it no big deal?

I'm no longer working for PJ Media, so I don't control that. If you're concerned about it, I suggest contacting PJ Media directly.

And I agree, I however won't pass judgment on them for clinging to what they perceive as their only hope. That's just my opinion. I won't condemn someone for grabbing a life line, even if it is thrown by someone I condemn. It's their life(culture) on the line not mine.

I like to think I can usually both sides of an issue, whether I agree with the other side or not, I can see where they are coming from.

And with that, Good night to all. I can only deal with a one sided book for so long.

What a disgusting attitude. You've lied repeatedly about your comments here, and now you say you won't condemn people who follow antisemites and neo-Nazis? Those are the subjects of the posts you're talking about!

You're not welcome at my site. Find somewhere else to support these ugly beliefs.

Ah, got it.

BTW, did you know that, according to Spencer, you're a "witless thug"?

Pathetic.

I read a critique of Eurabia a while back that posited that Europe had nothing to really fear. The writer argued, without much sarcasm, that Europe had invented industrial strength genocide and that long before Europe falls the trains will start running again.

I tried to find the article and could not. I have no idea what the background of the person is who wrote it. Looking at it from an objective, amoral, purely empirical point of view the prediction does seem to have some merit.

History is full of unintended or unforeseen consequences. Could the immigration of millions of rabid antisemitism trigger a political response against antisemites which eventually becomes an antisemitic response in itself?

Hopefully it will remain a hypothetical. The cost of obtaining the empirical data seems rather steep.
