Vlaams Belang and National Front Leaders Caught Mocking Holocaust - English Subtitles

World | Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 11:01:41 am PST

Here’s another version of the video showing Vlaams Belang and National Front leaders in Belgium, singing a vile antisemitic song, this time with English subtitles.

If you aren’t aware of the back story, Vlaams Belang is the neo-fascist group with which some so-called “anti-jihad” bloggers insist we need to make alliances. Vlaams Belang has sponsored “anti-Islamization” conferences in Europe, attended by some well-known writers and bloggers—who then turned around and attacked and smeared LGF for refusing to be associated with these Neanderthals.

I have to admit when I first heard of these guys I initially believed them to be the good guys. They usually wear a very nice mask that would convice a lot of people. That is the scariest thing about them, people who would naturally oppose them can be sucked in by the mirage.

Of course scum like this can only wear a mask for so long.

This sort of stuff has never really left Europe. It went a bit underground, it's not as apparent in the major tourist areas, but, off the beaten track, it's still festers.

36 jaunte  Fri, Nov 7, 2008 11:23:36am

I keep hearing the specious argument that says people should overlook this kind of thing in the name of supporting "the only people who are really fighting the jihad."

Our military is actually fighting jihadis, while some posers attend gassy conferences and other posers get caught showing their true colors singing nazi ditties in a biergarten. That reality reduces the argument from specious, to ridiculous, to obscene.

59 macoishin  Fri, Nov 7, 2008 11:34:09am

This is interesting, but not surprising - secessionist, nationalist politics are almost always racists and anti-semitic as well.
Vlaams Belang's raison d'etre (before even hating Jews and Muslims) is hating Walloons, on behalf of Dutch-speaking Flemings, ostensibly because they are so poorly treated by the French-dominated Belgian government. Similarly in my country Quebecois secessionists have always been hostile to what they call "money and the ethnic vote", i.e. jews, arabs, and blacks. They were largely unmoved by Holocaust, and many leaders in the 60's and 70's were unabashed neo-Nazis.
It seems to me that whenever you scratch a separatist movement you'll find a Nazi movement. Charles, you were definitely right to distance yourself from these pigs.

What I can confirm is that this is certainly not the official hymn of the RSA.
The melody is the same as in the second part of the present official National Anthem of the RSA - thus I would hazard the guess that the French translation in subtitles is one verse of that song which might indeed be from the time of Apartheid.

Interesting too is this:

A century and a half after the discovery of the Cape Sea Route, the Dutch East India Company founded a refreshment station at what would become Cape Town in 1652.[10] Cape Town became a British colony in 1806. European settlement expanded during the 1820s as the Boers (original Dutch, Flemish, German and French settlers) and the British 1820 Settlers claimed land in the north and east of the country.

On top of it - its pure obfuscation, like listening to one of B0s speeches ... at the end you have no idea what the points were.

On recognizing evil from Conversion Diary:

One thing that stands out in all these examples is that the victims of the widespread evil were categorized as something less than human. In fact, though the exact level and degree of evil that took place may vary, one thing that unites all of these practices as worthy of a place in the Human Depravity Hall of Fame is not only that innocent people were killed or enslaved, but that their humanity was taken away by the societies around them. The Nazis classified their victims as sub-human, less worthy of life than the better members of the race; wives were burned with their husbands because they were seen as nothing more than property; in the 90's in Rwanda the media fueled the genocide by assuring citizens over and over again that Tutsis were not fully human, referring to them as insects rather than people; the Romans accepted it as a matter of fact that baby girls inherently had fewer rights to live than baby boys; and in early America enslaved men, women and children were accepted by both government and society at large to be barely above livestock in their dignity and worth.

Someone else's response to that question, and didn't seem too far fetched as, the Dems pull the big numbers in urban areas with large populations which makes the possibility of miscounts higher whereas the Reps usually do well in the rural areas where it's more difficult to mis-count to 100. That and the electronic scanners reject ballots that are improperly marked. Which group do think has issues following directions.

we're not the ones that put a nuclear threat on the table .Had this been dealt with properly years ( if not decades ) ago,we would not be in this situation.Due to the western worlds sense of common decency we're too squeamish about war to respond an d the longer we delay the more horrid the necessary response will be .Initially a good "bitch slap" would have beensufficient but now that we've shown several decades of weakness the necesary response is bloody. I'm starting too think Osama's analyses is right and we're the weak horse .Like Gulliver our massive superiority in strength and technology is meaningless without the will to defend ourselves

And in the Muslim "holy book" the infidels are referred to as apes, pigs, donkey's and other animals. What does that tell you?

Rich nations should ditch 'unsustainable' lifestyles: China's Wen

First paragraph:
"Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and a top UN official urged industrialised nations Friday to alter their lifestyles and not let the global financial crisis hamper climate change efforts."

Last paragraphs:
"China has long resisted calls to join rich nations in setting targets for emissions cuts, saying its relatively low per capita emissions and recent emergence as a major source of greenhouse gases should exempt it from action."

"Scientists said in September that China had leapfrogged the United States as the world's biggest producer of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the principal gases that cause global warming. "

Am I reading this wrong? China is calling on "industrialized nations" to alter lifestyles, but doesn't consider itself responsible for any of this so-called "global warming." Hubris?

Not at all, considering the sentiments of one of the founding fathers of environmentalism, Kyoto Treaty, and carbon credits:

"Economic growth is not the cure; it is the disease."
[snip]
Actually, Strong's three sources of evil are really just one source -- Western civilization. Although he has reaped enormous personal profits from the Western ways of business and life, Strong has been a lifelong biter of the hands that feed him so well. In 1990, he even mused about a possible revolution against "industrialized civilizations."

What if it were concluded, Strong romanticized, "that the principal risk to the earth comes from the actions of the rich countries? ... Isn't the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn't it our responsibility to bring this about?"

Is it possible for the Europeans to have a conservative political party that is not expressly racist or antisemitic?

I wonder sometimes.

Conservative like you might see in a USA conservative party. Freedom to keep and bear arms, free enterprise, minimal government, that sort of thing. From time to time, I find myself referred over to conservative sites like that. Read off the various policy positions. I agree with this, I agree with that.........but invariably I'll hit a policy position that makes it clear I would not be welcome in that group because of.....well, you know. Who I am, or who I chose to marry. No mixing and all that.

Is it possible to be a USA-style conservative in Europe without racism and anti-Semitism? Is it in the genetics or something? I come to understand why my ancestors left.

So what makes Charles think that these two jokers are "leaders" of those parties? There is no evidence that they are "leaders" of those parties or ever were. I guess Charles can't point out any evidence showing this, so he has to declare them "leaders" to try to show that there is a larger support for this kind of idiocy in those parties than there actually is. If two Democrats or two Republicans sung a song like this, would we call them "leaders" and start demonizing the entire party? I think not.

Are you seriously going to try to float that garbage here?

But I'm not sure about the "Caught" part...to be caught you normally have to be doing something that you are ashamed of and it normally implies a hidden camera.

oh well, not worth the time IMO.

......attacked and smeared LGF for refusing to be associated with these Neanderthals.

I just want to reach out and give you a big hug and a kiss for that! :D
I admire your courage for standing up for what's right, Charles!

A hoax. Flamish people sing songs french no better than average americans do. Most likely some french/wallom papareazzi served then an ale and asked the to sing a song with him in his accented language. And cached. Happens all the time.

You are completely full of crap. This is no hoax. Delacroix has resigned over it, and Van Keerbergen has been ousted from the VB.

You're out of here.

That's a ridiculous and weak attempt at excusing vile behavior. The video is right there for everyone to see. They know the words, they know the meaning, and they are enjoying themselves.

Belgians must have been shocked; shocked & outraged that two supposed Flemish nationalists would sing in French!

This was probably the real reason they were asked to leave the movement.

Dutch-speaking Belgians do not care for their French-speaking neighbors and vice-versa. There is a distinct difference between these two disparate peoples. You can literally see a physical difference in the cleanliness of the cities and towns.

The only commonality they had (in the early 19th century) was religion. They need to go their own separate ways. The Flemish have borne more than their fair share of the load for too long but they need to find representation that can engineer an amicable divorce without the Fascist baggage.
