So how about that election, huh?

I won’t try to foist any “post-racial era” hooey off on you, and I’d be lying if I said I really liked Barack Obama or what he stands for, but electing a black president is a deeply symbolic act that we can all be proud of. A sea change, if you will.

Not because it will make the rest of the world like us. Because we need to move past the hatred and the racism and the atavism, and this is a small, flawed step into a promising future.

Country first.
