grow a little garden this spring. even if you just dig up a 12x12 ft. piece of ground in the back or side yard. it could come in handy and the beauty of plants coming up from the dirt is very uplifting to the heart and mind.
just suggesting this because it is a wonderful activity for the family and will put a lot more food on the table than you can believe. you can get so much from a small garden.

I don't think it is so much that idiots respond to it as that idiots pay to have it sent. And they pay very well. Back when I was running big websites a single valid email address was worth $10 or more. I refused to sell them but many a website did - and does.

Forget Scott Adams' dictum about actions that are "at one remove" from actual business (in The Dilbert Principle). Ehud Barak is sufficiently "removed" from making an actual decision that he may as well be on another planet. If he can't make a decision like this, he's no business as Defense Minister.

If the chain of command is structured such that as DM he can't make such a decision when the Israeli people are under direct attack, then his position must be completely without actual power. In which case, both it and he are unnecessary.

Israel needs a new Cabinet, and apparently a new Prime Minister, and they need them now.

Yup. Still, just in case, I deliberately selected a totally un-dialable number. One of those numbers they give in movies and TV shows so that no one actually CAN dial it.

Germany has said they will mothball the remaining 17 of their reactors by 2020. That's a short time away, and with the cap and trade on coal and the like, and the subsidies on renewables, the writing is on the wall, they won't make it there. You can't run an economy like that of Germany on sun and wind power, as of this date, they only provide five percent of the energy used by the country. What are the other carbon neutral alternatives.

I sense the government is painted into a corner. In the meantime, the police will have to deal with this stuff.

hi all--back from cancun and they gave me a great job at the resort--quality control expert at all the bars! t'was lovely! but on the downside - got news on second day my sis had another stroke-is doing so-so- right now i dont to go to ga (from co) but shes not out of the woods yet, and if things turn to shit (my bro-in-law words) i may have to go to help. prayers still needed dear lizards. then we also got news my hubbys aunt passed away-sbut she was 89 and went very quickly and easy. an emotional roller coaster of a week to be sure. glad to be back.

Because I don't want to be responsible for it if the number changes. Someone who owns a phone number can post it on their own site if they want to, and then they're responsible for updating if the number changes or goes to someone else.

Also, there are people reading LGF who are NOT your friends, and if you post a phone number, e.g. the number of someone who does or says something outrageous, some of these people may call pretending to be from LGF when they're really trying to cause trouble for me.

There are other reasons not to allow them, those are just the two biggest.

No, I used got to know her some years ago as a young receptionist at my stock brokers. She married and I would give her a some banter about when we could expect see the littles ones arriving. Her and her husband had 2 kiddies, Both boys, now 5 and 2. I had lost touch with her for a few years both when I got out of shares and their firm moved to the other end of town. I saw on Thursday last week and innocently asked how the family was, and she looked at me and asked me what I meant. I asked if the family had grown and thats when she said "I have just lost my son" (Max 2) I apolgised for my comment and that it now upset her and she "No, Thats ok" It wasnt, I could see that, so I have tries to help with this book. It really is an encouragement to grieving parents.

All my life I've heard that "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it." I just had no idea that just because 52% of the country forgot history, that the remaining 48% would be doomed to repeat it along with them.

"Smitten" is the past participle for the irregular verb, "to smite." The other principle part is "smote."

Out of the 52%, there's a sizable core who want Obama to dismantle what we think of as American capitalism and traditional American foreign policy.

But there's also a big chunk who voted for him on the basis of, "Let's give the Black guy a term in office. How much damage could he really do in just four years?"

They are about to find out.

How is your friend Bryan's brother doing?

So a little story for everyone. My brother is in high school, and he has a very close friend that graduated last year and went to the marines. He has been away for about five months, and came home on leave this last week. We have hung out several times before he graduated and developed a friendship as well. Well last night they both wanted to come over. So, I called into work, went to the grocery store and bought supplies to make a nice homemade meal. When they showed up I could not believe my eyes. Where there used to be a young high school student stood a man of confidence and stature. I have had a few friends from different branches but never was I able to make the before and after comparison so well. I am still full of pride and awe at what our military can do for peoples lives, and what soldiers do for ours everyday.

How is your friend Bryan's brother doing?

He is paralyzed from the waist down. His jaw is busted so we still dont know exactly what happened, but his wounds look more in keeping with his being attacked than his being in an accident. Other than that time will tell how much he heals, at least they got him home in time to save his life.

Interesting idea for a YouTube video: For those who either live in, or who are about to visit, Washington, D.C., put together a video tour of it, but referring to it instead as "0bamagrad". You could have plenty of fun renaming many landmarks and monuments in 0bama's honor, too.

I totally agree with everything you said. Additionally, after looking at his energy policies, it seemed to me he was trying to force us to become dependent on the middle east for oil, rather than break the dependence in 10 years as he kept stating as his energy policy.
