Kooks and Creeps Demand an Anti-War Defense Secretary

Moonbats | Tue, Nov 11, 2008 at 2:31:10 pm PST

Lunatics and antisemites are coming out of the woodwork, and demanding that Barack Obama appoint an anti-war Secretary of Defense.

Arms control advocates and anti-war activists are ratcheting up pressure on President-elect Barack Obama to dump Defense Secretary Robert Gates and replace him with a more strident anti-war voice.

Nominating Gates to stay, “would be a violation of the mandate for change that Obama says he represents,” said Medea Benjamin, cofounder of the anti-war group CodePink.

A better bipartisan fit for Obama, they say, is Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-Neb.), who brings out what they like about Gates – his ability to deal with Russia, Iran and Syria – without the direct link to Bush’s policies.

“That would be an unmistakable sign from the Obama camp that they really are nonpartisan,” said Justin Raimondo, editorial director of Antiwar.com. “He would be great.”

Every "peace" symbol on display increases the chance of war.

"He (Krushchev) has told them (his people) that we are retreating under the pressure of the Cold War, and when the time comes for the ultimatum our surrender will be voluntary because by that time we will have weakened from within spiritually, morally, and economically. He believes this because from our side he hears voices pleading for peace at any price, or better Red than dead, or as one commentator put it, he'd rather live on his knees than die on his feet. And therein lies the road to war, because those voices don't speak for the rest of us. You and I know and do not believe that life is so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery."

It takes a complaint to launch an investigation. You know that the Kos Kooks spend hours and hours every day firing off emails detailing all sorts of hallucinations to places like the FEC, among others.

Has anyone handed in any formal complaints against the Obama campaign? I would think that the FEC would be particularly interested in the whole credit card rigging that took place on the campaign's website, allowing essentially anonymous contributions in any amount from anyone and anywhere to be made. But the FEC, like most agencies, is reactive rather than proactive. They typically wait until they receive some number of complaints before investigating.

Get over to their website and drop them a line. Maybe mention the whole "Joe the Plumber" fiasco, as well, although I'm not sure that would be within the FEC's purview.

re: #93 SixDegrees

It takes a complaint to launch an investigation. You know that the Kos Kooks spend hours and hours every day firing off emails detailing all sorts of hallucinations to places like the FEC, among others.

Has anyone handed in any formal complaints against the Obama campaign? I would think that the FEC would be particularly interested in the whole credit card rigging that took place on the campaign's website, allowing essentially anonymous contributions in any amount from anyone and anywhere to be made. But the FEC, like most agencies, is reactive rather than proactive. They typically wait until they receive some number of complaints before investigating.

We are citizens. We have standing. There are enough lizards, how about we make a complaint, from lizard nation, et al.?
Get over to their website and drop them a line. Maybe mention the whole "Joe the Plumber" fiasco, as well, although I'm not sure that would be within the FEC's purview.

ISRAEL IS THE PROBLEM
Our problem….
- Justin Raimondo - October 6, 2003

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, and it looks like we may be in for a possible replay of that horrific disaster in which tens of thousands lost their lives. Yesterday, Israel bombed alleged "terrorist camps" in Syria. The excuse: yet another suicide bombing in Israel, this time taking 19 innocent lives, immediately claimed by Islamic Jihad (which denied having military bases in Syria). This was one of the deadliest suicide bombings since the beginning of the Intifada, but in principle no different from the dozens of other vicious acts of terror that are now a feature of daily life in Israel.
[snip]

The Christian apocalyptic vision of Armageddon in the Middle East – its inevitability and desirability as a portent of the Second Coming of Christ – is the key to understanding conservative Republican support for our war policy in Iraq. The fundies are perfectly aligned with neoconservative efforts to spread the conflict to Syria, Iran, and beyond, a development that would fulfill not only Biblical prophecy, but also the direst predictions of anti-war advocates.

Rahm Emanuel on Obama and Israel, railing against Bush including Hamas in elections, going against Israel's witshes, and spouting how Obama is Israel's best friend.

But, as with everything Obama, they say one thing and do another.

Hamas says met Obama advisors in Gaza

Ahmad Yousuf, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh's political advisor, said that during the recent US presidential race a secret meeting between senior Islamist group figures and advisors to President-elect Barack Obama was held in Gaza.

"We were in contact with a number of Obama's aides through the Internet, and later met with some of them in Gaza, but they advised us not to come out with any statements, as they may have a negative effect on his election campaign and be used by Republican candidate John McCain (to aRahmttack Obama)," Yousuf said in an interview with London-based Arabic-language newspaper Al-Hayat, published Tuesday.

re: #98 Mich-again

A prudent and speedy fashion. Who the F* writes this crap? He proposes retreating from Iraq as fast as can be done without hurrying.

There are already rumblings of massive backpedaling on the famous 16 Month Promise. I don't think they ever took it seriously to begin with; it was a ploy to rope in the Left - and the not-so-left. It's an unpopular war, no matter how you slice it. But the reality of moving troops and equipment through a couple of very narrow exit points, and leaving a bloodbath in your wake, is not something O is going to want hanging around his neck. The military has said this timetable is impossible, and he'll use that as an excuse to stay there longer. Or at least one would hope. At the present time, things are certainly on the upswing in Iraq, but it's easy for anyone to see that pulling out now and leaving them without any security is a recipe for disaster.

I'm sure he'll throw the loons a bone or two. But let's face it - they're going to be last in line for practical reasons. They're not ever going to vote for anyone else, nothing short of handing the White House over to China and Russia is ever going to make them happy, and O is showing all kinds of signs of waffling over toward the middle, as all Presidents do.

I'd say this yapping is just that. It's a non-starter, although like everything else it bears watching.

Joint Chiefs: Mr. President - there is a crisis in the middle east. A rogue faction of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard has armed missles with nuclear war heads and are fueling them. They will be ready to launch on Israel in 1 hour. What shall we do?

Obama: Once again, I am thrust into a crisis by destiny. [pauses to think, scratching his chin in a manner that would make Juan Cole swoon] Worry not, gentlemen. I have the solution.

Joint Chiefs: What is it Mr. President? We are giddy in anticipation.

Obama: Deploy the Nuance Bomb.

Joint Chiefs: On whom?

Obama: Imbeciles! Israel and Iran, of course! I will then reinforce the impact of the deployment with a series of phone calls and an announcement declaring that all parties should avoid violence!

Joint Chiefs: Brilliant! If only we had you as Commander in Chief when Saddam was still administering Iraq!

were ordered to do. Your uncles Frank and John and I were just a few of the men and women who served during a time when it was not popular to serve. I still
have pride knowing that what we did was honorable and right though not supported
by many in this country. Now, we are faced with another unpopular fight and still
not supported by many who think that we should disengage. They have no sense
of honor and support for their country. They think only of themselves, their jobs
but do not know that their freedoms and liberty are protected by those who are
and have served selfishly to protect them. They do not feel the pride of a veteran who sees a U.S. flag, to them it is not the symbol of freedom and sacrifice but
just a colorful banner to fly from a pole. To a veteran it is the symbol to cover the
casket of a dead serviceman who served, a rallying point, a tribute to a mother
who lost a son or daughter and an icon to freedom from people all over the world.
I am and will always be proud to have served the greatest nation God has created.
Love...Dad

Watch what happens this weekend with the Summit when the Euro's move to shove their gheerate idears of an economic and market system down our throats:

Sarkozy and European leaders would like to build on the momentum they gained in crafting bank-bailout programs that served as models for U.S. reforms.{ed: the SoB's didn't even know they were in trouble they were so busy chuckling over our economic concerns they didn't realized they'd swollowed their own poison-pilled}But the four principles on which they agreed are vague, due to the difficulty in melding the positions of France and other countries that seek tight regulation, with that of Britain, which wants to avoid unduly restrictive positions.

The four principles:

-No financial institution, no market segment and no jurisdiction must escape proportionate and adequate regulation or at least oversight

-The international financial system must be based on principles of accountability and transparency

-There should be an early warning system to warn against future financial crises

-Warnings of potential financial crises will fall to the International Monetary Fund (IMF)

We're going to submit our systems & economy to the oversight of the IMF?

What would or will the big O do?

Do they realize that the Secretary of Defense's JOB is to make sure that the US military is ready for war at any given time at any given place? That the Defense dept MUST HAVE a plan of retaliation against any and all possible threats to the US and her citizens?

Do they realize that the Secretary of State's JOB is to facilitate peace where possible but to ADVANCE UNITED STATES SECURITY throughout the world?

Wild-ass anti-Semitic conspiracy theory, no less.

Two comments from a drooling reader review should tell you all you need to know about the people who buy such trash:

Bruno says:
Read Jane's Defence Weekly and other security magazines to know just how much was already known in the US. 9/11 has nothing to do with the Israelis and everything to do with American blindness and unwillingness to see the signs. Have you forgotten the previous World Towers attack - the trial was well-reported - nothing happened in 9/11 that wasn't already said or implied there. To suggest that the Israelis knew something and didn't speak out is missing the point entirely. People in the FBI and other US agencies spoke out and were not listened to.

antizion says:
Bruno, Janes is a major publication, therefore, without even taking the time to look, I can tell you that it is owned by jews. Therefore, they are not going to admit that not only did Isreal know about it, they financed, planned, and carried it out. Isreal, slash zionist, slash world jewry, has been behind every major war, conflict, economic crash, and act of terror for the past 300 years. That's not to say jews in general, but jew leadership. Admit it or not, it's true.

Oh, boy.

Speaking of kooks, shameless re-post from the black helicopter thread:

Hey, I thought one of the points to be proud of was how the GOP disavowed and disowned their kooks and criminals, in contrast to how the donks embrace theirs. Has that changed?

Goldwater and Buckley, a tag team of bad-ass, clear thinkers that not only disavowed and disowned the kooks, but worked tirelessly to discredit and remove the kooks from the GOP. Good, honest, and honorable work they did, even if at times it was a thankless job. Our host, and many other Lizards here, seem to be carrying on in this fine tradition.

For those that want to support, defend, excuse, promote, or otherwise side with the "kookservatives" (h/t Sharmuta) and help pass around their little cups of "kook-aide", I give you the following:

You would do well to be mindful of the company you keep.

Got nothing to prove it, but I wouldn't doubt for a minute that there's a high degree of correlation between a county's crime rate and Obama's percentage of the vote. Probably gets really high if you could get crime data at the precinct level.

Confessions of an Obama Cultist
An open letter

by Justin Raimondo - March 7, 2008

Dear fellow Obama-maniacs,

Okay, I'm coming out of the closet, and admitting I'm one of you. There, I can say it, at last, out loud and proud: I'm a conservative-paleo-libertarian with a man-crush on Obama.
[snip]

Obama kept mentioning the war – you know, the one we were lied into on phony "evidence" of a nonexistent nuclear program. Not only that, but he kept reminding Hillary we should never had launched it in the first place: he needled her until she visibly squirmed. That was the hook, the lure that drew me ineluctably into the Obama cult.

Okay, let's admit this, too: it is a cult, i.e. a group centered around a single leader, whose pronouncements and personality form the basis of belief. With Obama, the clincher is that distinctly presidential air he carries with such alacrity: he acts and speaks as if he's already the President, and is merely waiting to be officially elected out of simple courtesy and respect for tradition.

Obama-mania is indeed a cult, but that's okay: after all, I'm a longtime Ron Paul fan, too
[snip]

Constant crisis means constant war hysteria, and this is the key to understanding the mindset that got us where we are today in Iraq.

Yet another key to understanding. So where have I heard that constant crisis thing before? I can think of 2 places: 1984, and the Cloward-Piven strategy.

301 lone_wolf_in_illinois  Tue, Nov 11, 2008 3:46:10pm

What turned me from being a democrat was during my service in the USN. I saw my commander in chief publicly lie and commit perjury, on national TV, defiling the office of the presidency and making a joke of it. I quietly changed my voting preference, yet I continued fullfilling my duty to follow the commander and chief and to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America while I was still serving.

The day I was discharged, I was immediately part of the vocal opposition, volunteering to make sure that Gorelick didn't have a chance.

I feel for those who will be serving for the next four years and want to tell them that for everything that they see this upcoming president do wrong, or defile the honor of the office that they bravely serve under, they can count on me to be their voice. I will not forget.

God Bless our boys and girls serving both at home and abroad.

Charles, I thought you and Stinky actually agreed with Johnson here:

Johnson quoted the official directive on teaching evolution as it appeared in the 1995 position statement of the National Association of Biology Teachers. “The diversity of life on earth is the outcome of evolution: an unsupervised, impersonal, unpredictable, and natural process.”

Please note, said Professor Johnson, that two years later the board of that association dropped the words “unsupervised” and “impersonal.”

Dropping these tendentious words is true to the scientific spirit. Science has nothing to say about ultimate origins, God, etc., as Stinky Himself wisely observes.

The Articles of Impeachment have to be drafted by the House, so for that to be even jokingly considered to happen by Jan 21, 2009 is a bit too much of a stretch with the incoming House makeup. And even if for some strange reason they are drafted and accepted, the Senate does the actual resolution as to conviction, an even more lunatic nonsequitar I have yet to experience. A Dem controlled Congress found it impossible to draft Articles against Bush, so for an even stronger majority to pursue Articles against an ideological ally would be political suicide.

The incoming Democrats, along with those who preceded them in the last midterm, are almost unanimously conservative, or at least ran more conservative campaigns than the watery Republicans they replaced and are now beholden to their constituents to deliver on those promises. They will find themselves at odds with the more senior, ultra-Left leadership in Congress. Add to that the senior middle of the party, which holds a great deal of seniority but isn't thrilled with the more radical agendas of Pelosi, Kennedy and company, and I'm not seeing a lot of solidarity in the future.

Let's remember that the Democrats have held majorities in both houses for two years now, with an extremely unpopular President in the Executive branch, and have accomplished absolutely nothing of note in terms of legislation, while racking up the more unfavorable approval ratings every recorded, half those enjoyed by President Bush. I see a lot more of the same coming.

If the Muslim lobby and jihad is successful in destroying Israel as a state, Muslims will be so emboldened by the weakness of the West that they will contend everything. The destruction of Israel will stop nothing: it will unleash an even more aggressive phase of jihad.

If anyone doubts this, can they point me to any instances whatsoever in the historical record which show Muslims simply resting content after a slew of territorial victories? Sure, they pause to catch their breath (hudna), but history shows them pressing on and on shortly thereafter.

So I have trouble seeing anti-Israel types being anything other than people with a death-wish.
