This is not unexpected. However, if there is a nuclear exchange, I doubt if either side will manage more than two to three explosions - bad, but not world ending.

It will however revitalize the Ban the Bomb movement in such places as France, the US, etc. This is a bad thing.

If you can't stand the radiation get out of the coming monsoon.

I hope that a full blown nuclear exchange doesn't force hollywood to push back release of the Incredable Hulk. You know, what with all the new sensetivities to all things radioactive.

"Get out of India"!!!

If I'm not mistaken, don't we have American troops and government workers in Pakistan? I think the State Department should issue the "urging" to get the hell away from them both.

Could someone clarify something for me? I'm not an expert on the extent of nuclear fallout and/or the killitons of the nukes that India and Pakistan have. How would the possible nuclear strikes affect our soldier's in Afghanistan?

Slanted reporting from the AP in the linked article. Notice the reference to "Hindu India"? India is a secular country with a Hindu majority (and the second-largest Muslim population in the world, I believe). I realize that the current government of India is Hindu-identity based, but it's still sloppy writing--at best.

I know next to nothing about the history of Kashmir, but the obvious implication of the story is that Pakastani claims on it are legitimate because the region is primarily Muslim. That doesn't follow.

But, more important, the fact that the US and UK are moving people out is a bad, bad sign.

Perhaps Powell can issue a statement telling India their military readiness is not helpful to the peace process.

The manner in which Americans "consume" music has a lot to do with leaving it on their coffee tables, or using it as wallpaper for their lifestyles, like the score of a movie -- it's consumed that way without any regard for how and why it was made. -- From "The Real Frank Zappa Book" (ch. 11)
